Great stylists, convenient location. If you're on campus, it's amazing to have a hair place so perfectly located. I get my hair cut with Rachel, and she's fantastic. It's not the cheapest place for a men's cut, but they are pros.

The following Views & Opinions Are My Own. I wasn't going to leave this review, but after some thinking I figured I would. Especially if it helps others avoid what happened to me. Of note before diving in, I went to the same exact stylist that I have been seeing since I started going here. TL;DR: ask for [A], hairstylist does [B]. They realize the mistake and act like nothing happened charging full price. Doesn't say sorry or admit their fault till after they know they wouldn't be getting my money anymore. Won't be going back. Long Version: So...the first hair cut was on point. The second hair cut...well, not sure what to actually say about it but it was a complete disaster. I informed the hairstylist I'm keeping the top long to continue the undercut. The stylist then proceeded to cut off almost my entire hair. They even went shorter then the first time I saw them...By the end of it, they realized their fault and tried to play it off like nothing happened, charging me the full amount for the style (one not asked for). It wasn't until I left and cancelled all my follow-up appointments with them, when low and behold, they give me a call back asking why and also apologizing in the process. First, thank you for apologizing; albeit that doesn't let my hair magically grow back over night and reverse what you actually did. Secondly, I would have much preferred if you stated your mistake when it happened...instead of trying to sweep it under the rug. Thirdly, this shows that your hairstylist and your organization are only friendly/nice when money is involved. It was only after they realized that my money would no longer be going into your organizations pocket, when they attempted to make things right. Sorry, after what happened and how this was handled, I would won't be coming back.

Decided to try this place again since the cut was simple and I was on campus. Just a lack of attention to detail, it felt rushed and like I was pushed through for quick cash. Price was ridiculous for what I got. Won't be back.

Customer service is good the hair dressers are very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately as a guy I don’t think this is the best place to get a hair cut. It’s way too expensive for the quality of the cut, the fades are subpar and uneven and the haircut doesn’t hold up after a week.

Customer service was really good and all the staff is super friendly. Also they didn’t charge me for the 1 min trim I had done. However, I went just to dye the back part of my head from half to tips (expecting to pay around 100$, since I don’t have a lot of hair) The website says for full colour on long hair is 95$. So I figured mine was gonna be cheaper or around that price. I thought it wasn’t a big deal. one colour just in the back, Simple and easy. Then, I’ve got charged 170+ because I was charged an “ombre” that is more meticulous Plus the dyes and I was told that I actually had a good deal. I Ended up paying almost 200$ with tip and my student discount. I guess the hair dresser took advantage of my ignorance on the subject and did whatever was better for her. To be honest I don’t feel what I’ve got done is worth 170$+

This review is a warning to those who are looking forward to do hair coloring. I went there because I needed to go to an event in a month. First I stated my condition, bleached twice and toned. Then I showed a photo with the color silver/grey that I want to the hairstylist and asked her if she can do this color, she said yes, so I was expecting a color at least similar to the picture. But I end up getting a blue ring around my head connected to my dark roots. In order to cover that blue she colored my hair into a dark grey that almost looked black. But the blue was still there and as I washed my hair it became more and more visible, so I went back to fix it. The second time she tried to wash the toner off and put grey on, but it ended up to be a beige color, which was almost exactly the same color that I originally started with. It was not grey, the yellow was all you could see. Then she apologized that she wouldn't be able to get the color I wanted. So I went to another salon to do a consultation, and they told me that I might never lighten my hair again, at least not anytime soon. That means I cannot get the silvery grey hair that I was looking for to go to the event because of what has been done to my hair. I was crushed and devastated, and even having thoughts about cutting my hair once for all. I have spent at least 8 hours in there to try to fix my hair. It would have been better if she just told me that she couldn't do this color, and I would have gone to another salon to do it. It was very unprofessional. I appreciate the make-up for my hair and the refund afterwards, but I can never get my time back and now I have to pay extra money to get more hair treatments because how damaged my hair has become. I'm sorry to say this but this entire experience is the worst I've ever had.

I was pretty unhappy with my hair cut here... my stylist took quite a bit more off of my hair than I asked her to, which I suspect was due to the fact that I have curly hair and she didn't understand the way my hair worked... anyway yeah I would not recommend this place and I will not come back.

I've been getting my haircut @ Campus Hair Design for over 2 years & it is well worth my drive from the Peninsula to UVIC. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair. I would highly recommend them!!

I had a decent enough experience the first time I went there but when I returned for a cleanup a different lady cut my hair. She seemed rushed and gave me a *bald spot* behind the ear, which I didn't notice until I arrived at home. People make mistakes but the fact that I could tell she wasn't being careful and didn't bother to tell me made it worse.

My stylist listened well and understood what I wanted, and offered products without pushing for a sale. She worked efficiently and it was clear that she paid attention to detail.

Their haircuts are very good looking and clean. The barber cut the back of my neck with the clippers and I didn't notice the blood until I got home. It's a shame he didn't notice, or if he did notice, it's a shame he didn't apologize. That one incident aside, the haircuts are great and the prices are reasonable.

I got a trim with layers that turned out really well and was also done relatively quickly, but the best part of my appointment was that my hairdresser actually styled my natural hair texture and showed me how to manage it myself! Usually hairdressers just blowdry and curl my hair when I get a haircut, but don't really show me how my natural texture will look in the new length, but here I got to see what my hair texture is actually able to look like, and for a really reasonable price, too. I got a compliment from a passer-by the minute I walked out of the shop :)

Always leave happy. My hair is difficult to cut because of an unruly wave and Julia is one of the first hair stylists to get it right. I drive three hours each way to go to her. She also coLours it and it is always amazing. I would say she excels with colour. The girls are all friendly and make you feel at home.
