Visiting Boho in Asbury is a relaxing and uplifting experience. From the minute you enter this beautiful salon with the perfect mid-century modern, 1970's bohemian charm you're greeted with smiling faces. From beginning to the very end of your appointment, you're treated with attentiveness and sort of kindness that makes you feel like you've known all of them forever. Everyone who works at Boho is extremely talented and cuts/colors hair with their own unique style. Maddie Maggiulli is my girl as she specializes in long hair but her talents go above and beyond. I love and trust the girls at Boho so much, I even used Sarah Margarita to style my hair for my wedding in September of 2019. Sarah and Tara Mitchell did an incredible job styling hair for my bridesmaids and the moms as well, who were all thrilled with their looks.

The whole team was incredibly easy to work with, very much went with the flow and made the day of the wedding relaxing and stress-free. My trial style was perfectly re-created on my wedding day (except maybe even better?) and I absolutely loved how I looked. I could not have felt more beautiful. My eight bridesmaids were styled in record time each with their own individual idea of how they wanted to look and they all looked absolutely amazing and raved all day about how this was the best "wedding hair" they had ever seen. This salon is fantastic. Nina has been my go-to for hair color since I moved to Asbury Park from out-of-state and I couldn't be happier. She is incredibly knowledgeable and has managed to keep my hair healthy and pretty throughout every treatment so far. Pictures below are from when I was in a blue phase. Maddy has been taking care of my haircuts and those also turn out looking and feeling great every time. If you need a place that reliably does damn good hair, I couldn't recommend this spot more.

Had a wonderful beautifying experience with Kim today. She blessed me with a balayage and a cut.. much needed for a mom of 3; one of which is a newborn. I felt pampered and cared for! My balayage was exactly what I imagined! I also had an iced matcha latte with coconut cream from their cafe which was brought to my seat.. what more could I ask for!

I visited the Montclair location yesterday and had an incredible experience that left me feeling like a completely different person in the best possible way. This was the first time I had my hair cut or colored since January, so I was craving a big change from my looooong hair and grown out roots. Amber made it so easy to discuss what kind of cut I wanted and gave me what is easily the best haircut I have ever had. I was nervous to part ways with the long hair that I have had for so many years, but Amber brought my long, tired hair back to life and made me feel so beautiful and confident with my shorter length. She also educated me on tools and products that will help me style it. April is a phenomenal colorist who truly puts her heart into creating a beautiful work of art. She pays attention to detail and made sure every strand of hair was transformed. She managed to take my naturally dark blonde grown out roots and blend them into brighter blonde strands so flawlessly. My hair has never looked so good and I am so in love with the final product! I In regards to the salon itself, be prepared to take pictures of just about everything. The space is STUNNING - from the wallpaper to the plants to the gold and pink accents. One of the most aesthetically pleasing places I have ever seen. The entire staff follows safety measures and makes you feel so comfortable during your time there. They sanitize between each client and there are bottles of sanitizer at just about every station. Everyone wore their masks and I had no concerns about my safety whatsoever. The staff is so incredibly friendly and you can tell they all really put their all into what they do. If you get hungry or thirsty, there is a cafe in the attached space that will deliver you a cup of coffee or a light snack. I stopped in before my appointment and had the vanilla oak draft latte (WOW) and a piece of avocado toast. So good! And the space itself is just as dreamy as the salon. If you couldn’t already tell, I absolutely loved every moment of my experience and cannot wait to return! I highly highly recommend this salon if you are seeking high quality professional service who will give you the hair of your dreams and an experience that will leave you feeling valued.

I had a great experience with Jess cutting and coloring my hair. I wanted a coppery red, showed her an inspiration picture, and she nailed it. I grew up a natural red head, but as I've gotten older, things change and now it needs a boost. Red is a tough color to get right and I've had some bad experiences at other salons. In addition to the great cut and color, the shampoo and massage with essential oils was amazing and the salon itself is super cute inside. Highly recommend!

I never wanted to leave! It’s clean, the front desk girl Christine was super friendly + accommodating. Nina did my color + holy moly I’m obsessed. Doing a bayalage is time consuming. However, I’m impressed with the fact that she literally went through every single foil to ensure the color was perfection. Super friendly + always checking to ensure I was comfortable. I loved that! Paula gave the best wash and head massage I’ve ever had! The products that were used to wash my hair smell so good even my husband was happy LOL! When Nina blew out + styled my hair it was exactly what I wanted. Soft but beachy waves. I feel super pretty + like a new refreshed person! Already booked my next appointment for a blow out! i had a fantastic experience at boho hair salon, sally and all the ladies who work there are awesome. the salon just oozes good vibes and the atmosphere is really pretty and chill. i came in with like 57 pinterest picture ideas and sally, who was my stylist, basically combined all 57 pinterest ideas and made it happen on my head. i cut off like 5 inches of my hair, and went for an ash blonde balayage [i have black hair]. it took about 5 hours, and she told me from the beginning, you might not get the color you want because the change is so drastic, but she made it happen! i can honestly say i've never gotten a better cut either, she really listened to what i wanted and got a sense of my style and aesthetic and just slayed my haircut and color completely. i'm new to the area so i'm so happy i found my new hair salon! oh ps, they have wine and good music plays throughout the salon. 5 stars!

I'll never get my hair cut or colored anywhere else now. This was my second visit, and I am beyond pleased. I went to salons in London for years, and I can tell you - this place is better than anywhere I've ever been x 10! The stylists are all incredibly trained, fun and not snotty at all! I had been looking for a salon to give me a nice balayage for the longest time and every place I had gone to I left disappointed. Yesterday was the first time I had ever left a salon feeling one hundred percent satisfied. In the past my hair would only be lightened enough to get a reddish blonde tone and would never be icy enough which left me hating my hair, in result I dyed my hair dark again. Janet promised me I wouldn't have any brassiness or red tones when she was done, and boy was she right! I cannot rave enough about Boho. Their space is beautiful, the atmosphere has great energy and not to mention, the stylists are great at what they do. It has a boutique, boho chic - New York esque vibe and I love that this salon isn’t just a space to get your hair done. They host different workshops (macrame, beauty foods, blowouts etc) and offer many other services. How did I get introduced to Boho? Chelsea Bruno, one of the Boho Babes has been my stylist for the past 6 years and when she moves to a new salon, I (as well as many others) move with her. She is the master mind behind the many looks (cut and color) I’ve had throughout the years and I trust her with everything. If you are Asian (or just have really dark hair- Lord knows I’ve seen too many Asians with bad blonde jobs) and if you have to go to your stylist multiple times just to lift your hair to the proper blonde, I am so sorry. Chelsea is an expert at this as I’ve never had a problem with my hair turning orange or being unable to lift. Lets just say, I hope she never moves out of NJ and if I move, I’d probably only be able to get my hair done when I’m back in town! Because she is now at Boho, I have gotten to see the work of the other stylists. I have very high standards for hair and when I believe in someones work. I spread their names like wild fire. There is not one stylist there who doesn’t do a great job and understand what their clients want. Sally, the owner of Boho is just the sweetest as well. I have worked closely with her on a couple shoots and have been in awe by her as she works quickly and efficiently. She is the queen of Bridal hair so ladies, if you’re looking for a hairstylist for your big day, she’s your girl.

I provided a review about this place before but I am doing it one more time because the dedication of this team is worth sharing. I went yesterday and got a full balayage and root touch. I honestly couldn't be more pleased. The dedication that these stylists have for their customers is undeniable. Janet spent hours going over every single layer of my hair making sure that my hair comes out perfect. How many times haven't you gone to a beauty salon to do highlights and they do it in areas where it is most visible only? Janet went over every single strand of my hair, making sure she didn't miss anything. I have a lot of hair, and I wouldn't blame anyone for getting tired or frustrated, but I didn't get that feeling from her at all. She was smiling and checking on me to ensure I was comfortable and happy. They love what they do. Everyone was friendly and made me feel like home. They also do a head massage when they wash your hair. It is amazingggg!!! If you have hesitations of going to this place, do not! I promise that you will never regret it! For those of you looking for a quick review, yes, you should book an appointment. I’m typically VERY picky about my hair. I almost never like it when I leave a salon, but I can honestly say I loved it when I left Boho. The staff is wonderful, I called when I arrived and the receptionist came to take my temperature and fill out a quick check list. Erin did my color, full balayage. She really took the time to collaborate with me and come up with what would be best. I should note, I have naturally almost black hair and I’ve been coloring it to a very light ashy blonde. When the color was completed, she could tell I was hesitant and had me come back to touch it up a week later. She did an incredible job! I absolutely love it. Shelby did my cut, I believe it was a dry cut and probably the easiest cut I’ve ever had. She took the time to hear my ideas and added hers which was fantastic. The cut grew out so perfect I almost don’t want to cut it. Erin, Shelby and the whole staff are amazing. I’m booking my next appointment as we speak.

This is definitely a long over due review. I started going to Madeleine in February 2019 and it was the best decision of my life. My hair went through so much over the past 2 years from bright red hair to box black hair to trying to even out the color myself (I do not recommend). Making my appointment was so easy the person I emailed was supper friendly and responded to my emails very quickly. Since my hair wasn't in the healthiest state Maddie did not want to over process my hair. We agreed on gradually lightning my hair so I could even out my multicolored hair without damaging it. I got a full balayage with a slight trim. I have never been happier with my results. Her blending skills are incomparable to anything I have ever seen before. After leaving the salon I received so many compliments and everyone kept asking me where I get my hair done. Even weeks after my appointment people continued to complement me because of how evenly the color grew in. There were 0 harsh lines and the color held up for a while. I went back in about a couple months after to not only go lighter for the summer but also because I missed the positive vibe that the salon gives off. The salon is so beautiful and so elegant. Every single person who works there is so friendly, accommodating, and you can tell that they love each other like a family. I can't wait for my next appointment.

To me that is bad customer service especially because the lady over the phone told me I would get a call back within a half hour.
