I've been going to Lather Salon for over 5 years (originally from a referral) and am very happy with the service. We've changed from short to long hair styles and back again, and with different colours, and I am always happy with the result. They are all very friendly and welcoming. My husband and 4 year old daughter also go to Lather for their hair cuts. My daughter looks forward to her appointments and there is no fighting to have her sit still. She always feels very special when she goes. Thank you!

I had a great experience here. They were on time, efficient and friendly. My stylist Elizabeth was fantastic. She had a chat with me, clarified what I was looking for, then blew me away with the quality of the cut. To round things off, she was 'artful' (for lack of a better term), which I found really impressive. I don't really have an artistic eye, but even I could tell that she has serious talent. I would highly recommend this salon for a good cut at an affordable price. I will definitely return when I'm in Calgary next.

The salon is under new management from when I was last at it, and they have made some nice changes to the overall atmosphere.They were very accommodating on the phone and I was impressed I could get a same day appointment. I was very unhappy with my hair cut, unfortunately. I had wanted to take length off my hair, and thought we had agreed upon a length before my stylist began to cut it. The finished product was at least 2 inches shorter than I had indicated I wanted it, and when I told her it was too short she argued with me. The shape of the cut is nice, and I understand it will be shorter in the front, but was so disappointed with my experience there.

I have been going to Lather for a few years now and have never had a bad experience. If I don't have time to get to Lather for a cut/color (I live way in the NE so it's a pretty far drive for me) then I just don't get my hair done until I find time to get there. Candace is my go to girl there and she is friendly, bubbley and always gets my hair right. Half the time I go there I don't even know what I want but she figures it out. I send my husband there too because if I don't he'll just go to a cheap salon and come home with screwed up hair. He's had his hair cut by a couple of the other stylists there and it always turns out great. I would recommend this salon to anyone.

I had the worst experience. I came in looking for a nice grey and silver hair style. Like an ombre. I got all silver barely any grey and the grey I have is choppy and barely there at all. Then I paid $220 dollars for something I didn't even want and three hours of sitting in the chair. He didn't try to give me a deal at all. "colour is hard" apparently too hard for them to do. I am very unhappy. His name is Jimmy.

Jimmy is the owner and amazing at hair! Short hair is difficult to cut and I've had too many bad pixie's to count. He is by far the best stylist I've ever had to make my pixie beautiful! He also gave me some helpful tips on how to blow dry my perfect pixie at home. My hair won't be touched by anyone else again! Can't wait to have him do my highlights next.

I've had my hair done by Cassandra a few times now, and won't go to anyone else. She's kind, talented, great to talk to, and best of all - honest. Not a lot of hair dressers will be upfront with you if your hair goals will take more than one visit! Cassandra is the only hair dresser I've ever felt was on the same page as me when I explain what it is I'm looking for. The shop itself is clean and laid-back, but I'd follow a good hairdresser anywhere.

The level of service in Lather is unparalleled. Megan was my hair dresser, and she basically took the time to treat my hair like it was an artwork. After washing my hair thoroughly, she proceeded to meticulously craft my new hair look. She truly has a passion for hair. The cost was $32, which is higher than barber shops and whatnot, but it's honestly the nicest haircut I've ever received. When I got home I genuinely felt guilty for only tipping her $8. She earned way more than that. In any case, you can be sure I've found my new regular hair salon and hairdresser. Thanks, Megan!

I had an awful short haircut from another salon and having been to see Jimmy at Lather before, I knew if anyone could fix my cut, it would be him. It was a difficult task as half my head was super short (like a grown out shaved hair length). Jimmy is a rock freaking star when it comes to hair. He understands balance and is a highly technical cutter. If you need a cut from another salon fixed, go to Lather. Or save yourself the bad haircut in the first place and just go see Jimmy! The best cut you'll get in Calgary is at Lather.

I would have enjoyed my haircut if I wouldn't have had to wait an hour after my scheduled appointment before they even started on me. The worst part is they kept telling me it would just be a few more minutes. Had I known it would be an hour I would have left. I also felt that my appointment was a bit rushed to try to catch up as there was already another customer waiting.
