I recently went to the ginger group to have my hair lightened and am super happy with my overall experience. I did my research on great hair dressers and this place seemed to be the best I could find. The staff was friendly, the environment was chic and the products were high quality. It was still relatively cheap for the amazing quality I received. I would highly recommend :)

Nice Looking place. Staff seemed to have a bit of attitude, like I bothered their convo by coming in. Got a cut and style with a new girl they called up from the back. Was ok. My stylist was nice but the vibe from the others not so much.

I love going here for my haircut and having Christine T. cut and style it. Upon walking in you're always greeted by a smiling face and asked whether you would like anything to drink while you wait. Excellent staff, location and prices and highly recommend to anyone looking for a new hair salon.

I am officially in love with this place and will not be going anywhere else for any hair needs. I started going here when I wanted to color my hair for the first time ( about 6 months ago). Before this, I had never been to a hair salon before. From the first time I called, I knew that I would like the salon. Before letting me book a color appointment, they booked me for a color consultation so I could meet with a stylist and discuss what I wanted. This consultation was free. I was recommended Haeli and I completely understand why. She was very attentive in trying to figure out what I wanted by looking at pictures and explaining what the color process would be like, I knew after meeting with her I could trust her with my hair. I colored my hair with her a week later and fell in love with it! Haeli is very good at what she does but she also makes the experience fun and upbeat. I also get my hair cut by her. As I am trying to grow it out, she understands taking off only what is necessary and gives me hair care options to help my hair grow out healthy. I recommend this salon to anyone! It can be pricey, but you pay for the quality you get. It is not as expensive as other places I looked into when I was picking a salon to color my hair. The experience that you get out of this salon is worth every penny!

I am not one to post a review like this, or complain about a service. I had been going to this salon for a while now, and have always felt welcomed. I came in for a cut on April 25th with Nolene. I had shown her a screenshot of a haircut for inspiration, and what I was given looked nothing like that haircut. I wish I could post photos in reviews. I had hoped for a light, feathery fringe but was given blunt heavy bangs. The salon/the receptionists response to my request was the nail in the coffin. I will not be returning to this place. I have been nothing but polite in my correspondence but have been met with hostility and defensiveness at every phone call and email. When you work in a industry providing a service, usually it is the company’s goal to satisfy the customer, or at the very least be polite and not berate them. I was blamed for the haircut, but I don’t recall holding the scissors and giving myself blunt heavy bangs. Feel free to give this salon your business, just know that they are completely unresponsive to holding civil conversations if you are unsatisfied.

I came in to see Jenny for a cut and she did an incredible job! I’ve basically given up hope in my hair being a specific style I like because it’s a weird mix of curly and wavy, and finicky. I showed her a picture and it looked even better than what I wanted because she took time to understand my hair type and made sure to understand my routine and maintenance. She clearly showed me everything she was doing and had obviously taken the time in her profession to understand curly hair. She also gave me a bunch of tips and tricks for helping with my curl loss. Really grateful for her service. The salon is also lovely inside!

(Tl;dr at bottom) This is my first time experiencing The Ginger Group and I had the pleasure of having Andrea take care of me and my asian hair. The place itself when I entered looked very cozy, comfortable and modern. When Andrea came in to start my appointment, she was very thorough during her consultation, asked questions I never thought of (like how much time do you want to spend on your hair styling wise or care wise), and gave great suggestions that were aligned to what I wanted. Just from the consultation, her 20 years of experience as a hair stylist and understanding of asian hair really shone. After the consultation, she washed my hair with a shampoo, conditioner and Moroccan Oil. Her scalp massage felt so relaxing, if my appointment wasn’t in the morning I might have dozed off. She showed me all the products she used as well as their benefits, so she’s also a great salesperson (almost got me to buy it all). During the cutting of my hair, she started it off wet to get rid of the length and then blow dried my hair to cut it dry. She communicated very well during the cutting and we also had a great conversation about life haha. She was thorough and checked often to ensure the length and shape of my hair was all coming together. I also enjoyed watching her techniques and comparing it to the other hair stylists I have experienced. At the end, she protected my hair with some products and was able to curl my hair so well without an excessive amount of hairspray that about 2 hours after my appointment, my hair has yet to show signs of straightening itself and has retained the shape of the curls (for now). At the end, we ended it off right on the dot of an hour long appointment. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Andrea and I highly recommend her for asian hair. Of course I saw asian stylists in the salon who also showcase a great understanding of asian hair (including men’s), so I would check out their stylists on their website before calling to book an appointment. Tl;dr Andrea is a great stylist for asian hair, and I wanted to fall asleep during the hair wash cuz her scalp massage was very relaxing.

Loooove this place ! Been going here for a couple years now but most recently got my hair cut & coloured here, spent a good amount of money & it was worth every penny! The atmosphere here is the greatest, and staff are phenomenal. Christina does hair like its artwork! It's so obvious she loves what she does. I spent 4 hours in her chair & time practically flew by. I would recommend this place to everyone!

She did blonde foils for me, and she was great at taking the time before beginning to understand what I wanted, and my hair history. The salon itself is really nice; it's very bright and warm and comfortable. I definitely will come back to Ginger Group.

Picking the Ginger Group as a hair salon will be the best decision you ever make. Nathan was absolutely perfect! He took great care with my hair and did exactly what I wanted. He honestly saved my hair after four at home boxes of bleach and still lightened it to the colour I was looking for. The establishment was open and welcoming and the staff was always there if you needed something. I have nothing but great things to say about this salon and Nathan!

First time at Ginger Group. Would never go back!! Firstly, I was quoted $130-$150 for highlights, cut and style. I was charges over $200. Definitely NOT worth that much. I asked for 2" off. They took at least 3" off. I showed them a pic and said I wanted it a bit longer than the pic. It's now way shorter than the pic. One side is all messed up, shorter and looks like she just took a chop at it. Stylist used the F bomb several times and told way too many personal stories. Receptionist was rude, cold and did not acknowledge a word I said about the price concern. When I asked why it was so expensive she slammed the paper breakdown on the counter and said "How are you paying?" No respect and terrible customer service skills. Also miserable. I'm very angry at myself for paying the whole bill. NEVER AGAIN!

The ladies here are incredible! My wedding party was taken care of and the girls looked beautiful! Christine and Jen are absolute Hair Goddesses and I won’t go to anyone else! They do such a quality job and my hair is so much healthier and repaired and growing! I was there in June for a cut and colour. I had a female named Jay as a stylist who did a terrible job. I had brought a picture of both the cut I wanted and the colour but what I walked out with was not even close. I was there for 3 hours and Jay had other customers she was treating during that time. I think the colour was left on too long and Jay had to ask another stylist to tone my hair. I believe the other stylist's name was Nolene and she gave a great scalp massage and I watched her colour and cut another woman's hair and did a superb job. I paid a lot of money and did not get what I wanted. Not sure I would go back.

I only had a few days to get my hair coloured for a role in a theatre show, and Jenny not only took the time to do a consult for my hair through a mutual friend, but she also scheduled me in the very next day. She was meticulous and precise when explaining what we were going to do to get what my director wanted for my hair, and she walked me through every step. My hair looks better than I ever imagined it would with this colour, and Jenny set me up for success if I decide to lighten it again after my show closes. As well, the Salon is in a crazy old, crazy awesome building. The atmosphere alone was enough to make me come back, but the care and service I received has closed the deal. I went to this place and asked for a black to red ombré type thing and showed multiple pictures and it looks really good for about a week and then it faded completely to an ugly orange colour. i paid $280 dollars for it and it didn’t last a week. very disappointed and likely wouldn’t go back again.
