Second time going to Accentric I had a good experience. All I needed was a cut to get my dead ends off after doing some blonde highlights for a bit. However this third time I went I had a terrible experience. I went in for my highlight appointment and I brought in a picture of what I wanted exactly. Well, let me tell you it was nothing like the picture at ALL. She gave me highlights throughout my whole head when I just wanted a bit of highlights to start off and ending with balyage at the bottom. And towards the end she told me it looked exactly like the picture when it was nothing close! I'm stuck with these choppy blonde colors that are barely blended. The stylist was very nice and great but seriously needs to listen more to what people have to say. Especially when they bring in a picture! Not a place I would recommend for the younger/teenage female clients who are wanting todo a more modern highlight/balyage like we all see and love on Instagram.

Finding Libby at Accentric Salon & Spa has been a total blessing! I moved to Calgary from a small town and had some absolutely horrible luck at finding a good hairdresser. And I was never the type to speak up enough when I was secretly crying inside. I moved up to the Country Hills area and decided to give this place a try. It has now been around 4 years since I've continuously booked my appointments there and have yet to feel disappointed. I've even moved an hour and a half out of the city over a year ago and still can't help but go where I know I'll be pleased. All my life I've also been quite the perfectionist, so to have Libby know what my heart desires in a cut and colour is very impressive. She has yet to rush or even have an "off" day with me regardless of her busy schedule. She always thoroughly answers my questions and knowledges me on the pro's and con's to any changes I may be eager to try. She also helps me with issues in which isn't her paid job to do. If I'm ever hurting in my personal life, she knows just the encouraging words to help me through it. She is the perfect amount of honest and knows how to make me laugh. I adore Libby in a variety of ways. There are endless amounts of times where friends, family, even other hairdressers, and total strangers will stop to compliment me on my hair and ask who the talented person is who makes it look so beautiful. To be in a profession where you juggle with people's emotions cannot be easy. Let's face it, hair is a huge part of how we look and how we feel. It's impossible to please everybody and give them the exact vision in which they may be seeing in their head, but Libby has succeeded so well in this field of work. She is consistently fantastic. Linda from the Country Hills location was referred to me by my co-worker who had her hair done by her. Linda is an amazing professional with a personality to match.I feel comfortable with her and I can honestly say that I can trust her judgement when it comes to my hair. I remember my first visit a year ago and my hair was previously butchered by some amateur at the mall, and luckily Linda fixed it and made my hair current and manageable. Since then, I have been going to her ever since :) My hair defines my look and its nice to have someone that knows what style looks best! If you need hair advice or have no idea what style will look good for your face...go to Linda! she'll be honest and you will be have a great time chatting with her!

Love it! Just switched my salon because my 'gal is on maternity leave. John did a cut and colour for me and did a terrific job. Helped me pick a colour that I just love, and although the cut was a tad bit different than what I had been going for, I actually like it better than what I was originally asking for (wasn't hugely different, just layered different than I normally do). John was extremely friendly and a pleasure to deal with - I'll definitely be back.

When you find a good hairstylist you keep her and you don't go anywhere else, I have been seeing Sam since before Accentric salon & spa, Sam is gifted, talented, sweet and just overall a pleasure to know, she has you leaving the salon feeling like a bride. I have never been disappointed, she is very patient and meticulous, you can definitely tell she takes pride in what she does, she is an artist. I went in on June 23 for a makeover not knowing what I wanted , I trust Sam so much that I just booked an appointment, showed up and told her to give me a style and color that would pop! . I left there feeling so beautiful, I felt fabulous, I had so much compliments on my hair I would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone. overall the atmosphere of the salon is bright & clean, the rest of the staff are friendly and welcoming. I really enjoy my time here. Good job ladies n gents you all make this place amazing!

Libby is the most AMAZING hair stylist. I've been going to the same stylist for years, so needless to say, I was extremely nervous going in. I'm not used to new hair stylists and a lot of my other 'dabbles' have had me cursing the stylists names. Libby took the time to see my hair growth patterns, she asked the right questions, and she gave me the best haircut I've ever had. I ended up switching over to her ever since. She's also a lot of fun to talk to in the chair so it's always a fun experience. Highly recommended for ANY males looking to get their hair done by a new stylist.

She hasn't started the cut but they want me to wait. I called my ride and left. They were polite and I wished I could have availed of their services but I don't appreciate being treated that way and I won't be back.

This was a positive review now changed to a disappinted one. First attempt of hair cut by Olivia was bizzare with uneven hair length and wrong hair cut. And also her attitude when i said i asked for a different cut than this, n she just kept on justifying that that is the same where as it clearly was not and ended up saying pay at the front. Like as if I will leave without paying??? So disrespectful. And then i was told to come back later the next day where manager tried to fix the cut and i was happy at the moment as it was all blow dried at the end,, which is such a trick to cover up for the mess. I washed my hair the next day and the layers are sooo uneven, My hair looks like a joke and i am extremely upset with this unexpected experience as their reviews said otherwise and was the whole reason i went there. This palce is. NO fr me.

Appointments are recommended but I put them to the test and walked in. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the stylist did a fantastic job and the pricing was affordable. Spent a few years bouncing back and forth to different salons, and not getting a results I hoped, found Libby at Accentric Salons location in the Hamptons, so when she moved to the Country Hills location years ago, I followed her. Because I get a really good consistent cut and it's been 8 years now of quality and great customer satisfaction! I have gone to megan for over 3 years and I've never been disappointed. I just went to her yesterday to get my hair balayaged and oh my god the results are exactly what I wanted. I went in thinking since my hair is a darkish brown I didn't expect that my hair would lift that much but boy was I wrong :). Megan is amazing super sweet, friendly, professional, she listened to what I wanted and took her time to give me amazing results. My hair lifted so much more then I expected and with barely any damage. I told her I was trying to grow out my layers and didnt want it trimmed so she used a different technique to take off what she needed to which looked like I didn't even get a trim :). I Love that! A lot of stylists cut so much off more then what you ask for but not megan she knows exactly what you want and trust me you will be really happy with the results.

I have been getting my hair dyed and highlighted since I was 14. I am 29 now. I have never had a worse experience at a salon than I did with Shelley at Accentric in Harvest Hills. Firstly, she barely said anything to me and came across as very unfriendly. Next, as she was shampooing and washing out my hair and taking out the foils for my half-highlights, she was telling another stylist that should could see another client in half an hour short notice no problem. Immediately, I was concerned because I knew it would probably take longer than half an hour to cut, dry and style my hair. I also was unsure about how fast she took out my foils but figured, she knew what she was doing. When I left the salon, I was not completely satisfied with my hair, but Shelley kept saying how good my hair looked and I wanted to see how my hair looked at home, just in case the lights at the salon were causing my hair to be a weird color at the roots. When I got home, I was horrified! My roots were orange! Not only that, but there were no layers in my hair except in the front! I asked some friends if they saw any layers in my hair and they agreed there was only layers in the front. My friends and family couldn't believe what had been done to my hair. I went back to Accentric and the receptionist there agreed that my hair looked orange at the roots and that there was only layering in the front. She told me Shelley would fix my hair for free and that they were sorry. I asked if I could see a different stylist, but they said it's usually the same stylist that did your hair first that fixes your hair, and I did not want to be pushy. When I met with Shelley, she tried to assert my hair was not that bad or orange. Then, she said she did put layers in. The layers must be invisible, because the only layering me, or anyone else could see in my hair, were in the front of my hair. I asked her to fix the orange in my hair so I would have nice uniform caramel (dirty blond) highlights mixed in with my dark brown hair. Once again, she screwed up! My hair had golden and caramel highlights! None of my naturally dark-brown hair was anywhere to be seen! I told her it was really light and wanted some darker brown lowlights. She then said she would add some lowlights so I would have some dark-brown hair mixed in with the golden and caramel highlights. I was sitting in her chair for over two hours, on top of the two and half hours I orinally was sitting for as she was messing up my hair for the first time. Low and behold, when she did my hair the third time, it still was not what I asked of her! Now, I had golden blond, dirty blond and light brown hair! My hair was still way lighter than I said I wanted it! When she was done, I didn't tell her to fix it a fourth time, as I have bad chronic tail-bone pain and needed to go home and rest. Also, I did not want her to screw up my hair for a fourth time and it was almost closing time at the salon. She never once apologized for messing up my hair three times! I did not say anything the last time because I was in pain due to my chronic tail bone pain, figured she would be rude if I asked her to fix it again, as she never was very friendly at all. I would never go back there. Maybe she did a great job for some people, but she screwed up my hair 3 times! Worst hair stylist in history! And she was not even a new stylist! All the other stylists there were so much friendlier to their clients as well. I wish I asked my previous stylist where she was going to, as it was her last day at that salon, but forgot. I figured, since most stylists do exactly what I ask, it would be okay to see a new person. Thankfully, I got some compliments on my lighter hair, so I kept it, but it was not what I originally asked for. I will never go back to that salon and am going to be incredibly pushy about what I want for my hair now so something like this does not happen again. Stylists are suppose to do what you want, and that is what you're paying them for. Why is it that some stylists don't even do what you ask them to? Unbelievable.

Amanda always does an AMAZING job with my hair. She's extremely personable and efficient. She always gives me advice and ideas for my hair. The first time I went to her she did an ombre for me and did a great job! I've now changed my hair back to a solid color, and she recommended I do a brown with a violet undertone which looks amazing! As well she always trims my hair to the length I ask her to. I highly recommend Amanda, as she is extremely knowledgable and confident in her demeanour.

I had good experience with this place in my previous hair cuts. In the most recent one, the experience was extremely horrible(worst in all the hair cuts that I've had in my life). The hair dresser named Tina pulled my hair with strong force during the hair cut and it actually hurts. I felt that she just wanted to finish her work as soon as possible without caring what the client's needs and feeling is. I always have the same hair style. However, this time, when I asked to cut my layers shorter, she said to me that she could not do it and didn't do it. I complained this to the receptionist what she did. Tina yelled at me in front of the receptionist and blamed me for her poor quality of hair cut. In fact, because she refused several times of what I asked, I didn't get a chance to have a finished hair cut this time. Very disappointed!

Asma is amazing. I had been going to the same hairdresser for a few years. Mostly out of loyalty. I liked the way she coloured my hair but didn't like the cuts. Then they changed ownership and with it they changed the products they used to colour hair. Long story short, I finally decided that I need to make a change. Asma is fabulous! She gave me great advice on how to get my hair healthy again. I am always pleased with my experience and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a hairdresser. She is friendly and chatty and really cares about you being satisfied when you leave. I will definitely continue to see her.

I have been going to this salon for a couple of years and absolutely love Rene. She is a fabulous stylist. Able to be creative or give you exactly what you ask for. Today however Rene wasn't available in the morning so I went with someone new. The gentleman was nice but did not listen to a word I said! I am extremely heartbroken as my hair has been chopped off and layered when all requested was a trim and side swept bangs. I didn't even get the bangs! I am truly upset. Renée is amazing at what she does and always ensures you are content with your look at the end of each appointment. I had a color done by Renee and I have had non-stop complements about my hair and someone at my work even wants to go and get my exact hair color done to them! She was very knowledgeable about what would and would not work with my natural hair color and knew how to prep my hair so that it would have an even coverage (my tips were black from a previous dye-job). She listened to what I wanted and gave me some advice and came up with a blend of three different dyes that did exactly what I was going for. It helps that she has the exact same type of hair that I do (fine, wavy in a bad way, and lots of it), so she was able to give me some great recommendations for products that will work with my type of hair and she styled it beautifully. It honestly should be a prerequisite that hair dressers have their own type of hair in their profile because it's just a no-brainer that they would know how to deal with their own type of hair and it would be good to pair clients with stylists who have similar types of hair. Overall, I had a great first experience and I plan to come back.

Long term customer - Very disappointed with their customer service and Attitude! Had an appointment booked with Samantha almost a week ago for haircut and toning, when went there was told that I was only booked for toning for 45 mins. Later on she realized that it was her fault reading the appointment but communicating that message Samantha was extremely rude!! Her tone was harsh and I had to walk out of the salon because I didn’t want to put my hair in her hands after an argument over nothing!! What’s the point sitting on that chair when you’ve already spoiled your mood for a misunderstanding. Even if you do a good job on the customer but you make them nervous with your attitude doesn’t make anything worth it! Never ever book Samantha for your appointments at Accentric guys!!

Stacey has been cutting my hair for about 17 years, and I love what she does every time. She listens to me but will give advice and recommendations when I ask. Both of my adult children get their hair cut, coloured and highlighted by her too!

My name is Michelle and I have been going to Accentric Spa to have my hair styled by Asma for well over two years now. I actually followed Asma over to Accentric when I heard she was leaving to take on a new job opportunity. I find Asma to be an exceptional hair stylist and also a very friendly person. I really look forward to the time we spend together discussing my hair, life, family, etc. The one thing that really stands out for me is her ability to know exactly what color, highlites, cut and style that would suit me best. Asma always asks me what my thoughts are on my hair and what I'd like to do with it and I always answer her by saying, "Your the expert and I trust whatever you do." I often get compliments on my hairstyle and I've even been able to refer a friend to Asma because it it. She's a treasure!

Best Hair Salon in Calgary!! I have been going to this Calgary hair salon for many years. As a professional, my image is important to me and due to my busy schedule I always book an appointment last minute and have pretty much had my hair cut by every stylist here. My experience with Jeff and Megan were great. I can't recommend them enough. Megan also did my mom's hair cut as well. Jeff did amazing job on the color. 3 months in and the color looks even richer. He also does chemical straightening which not many salons do in the city.

In a word, PASSION! I've been going to Accentrics for over 5 years. The passion the staff members have for providing exceptional client service is obvious. Jean/John is my stylist.... In a word, FABULOUS! The time and care he showed when discussing what style I wanted showed a true understanding of how much a woman's hair means to her!! ;o) His professionalisam and experience were shown as he gave me suggestions on what style would work best with my hair type (he was right!!) & advice on products would be beneficial to my hair as well (and they were!!). Meghan is my esthetician.... In a word.... FANTASTIC!!!! I can't begin to describe the exceptional experience you have when seeing her. The focus and attention that she shows to you during a treatment makes you feel important, unique and loving the work she has done for you!! Love you Meghan!! I had a 9 oclock appt with Angie. From the moment we sat down, she made me feel comfortable and was ready to hear what I had in mind with my hair. I wanted blonde highlights, but had a few concerns on it looking natural and how roots would look in the future. She reassured me and guided the whole appointment, always explaining what she was doing and making recommendations for my hair without the forceful and judgemental attitudes some stylists have. She focused all of her attention on making sure my hair was perfect and she did an amazing job. Come the end, the price for what was done was extremely fair. If you are looking for a new stylist, try Angie. I know for sure ill be going back and requesting her every time.

This place is amazing!!!! I dont remember the young girls name who did my hair but hats off to her. I have very thick hair and I guess I picked a difficult cut but for someone who is still learning the trade she did awesome. The woman who was helping her (dont remember her name) was just as amazing. These 2 ladies rocked it today and I will definitely be back.

I had a bad experience with them but I must say they know how to do business and do anything to rectify the problem. I left a review with my bad experience earlier and the owner Ronny just called me the next day to apologize and even offered me free colour and cut. Fortunately, I got some time today when I could get my hair done and I called them. They gave me totally different experience. They took me in today although it must be hard for them but I highly appreciate how accommodating they are to make their clients happy. I wanted to go today because tomorrow I am going on vacation. I saw Lisa Marie who did amazing work on my hair in both colour and cut. She stayed in salon even after closing time to finish my hair. I am so happy I can go on vacation with a new look. I understand while running business some mistakes do occur but the way they rectified it and the extent to which they went to make their clients happy, I could have even given them 10 stars if that exist. I am really impressed from their customer service and their work. Lisa Marie is an amazing stylist and the colour she picked for my hair looks perfect on my skin tone. Thanks. I highly recommend this salon.

0 STARS. Terrible, terrible experience; I received the worst service and hair cut I've had in years. I booked with Accentric based on the great reviews and explained I needed someone who could give me advice on doing something different with my hair so the girl wholeheartedly recommended Libby, which I was very excited about as she was raved about in many reviews. My appointment was at the end of the day and I didn't have to wait long which was nice. I came in with some pictures and ideas on what I thought might work; however, when I explained that I wanted advice on what cut would fit my hair type best, as she is the expert obviously, Libby didn't have any time for this. I was told she only cut hair for customers who knew what they wanted and was treated like a complete nuisance. When I asked if she could just cut a few inches off first to see if I liked it before going shorter, she said she didn't have time to cut my hair in different lengths – she would only commit to cutting one length. She was very brusque and rude, no customer service whatsoever, though did have time to strongly recommend I get my hair colored by her which of course is much more expensive. This is when I should have walked out but didn’t – a price I am still paying for and really wish I had done. The hair cut was very quick and hurried and she missed an entire chunk of hair that was longer than the rest and my hair looked absolutely terrible at the end. When I went somewhere else the week after to fix it, the stylist there was completely shocked at how bad the cut was. I was very, very disappointed considering the great reviews on here and how excited I was; I do not recommend Libby whatsoever. Of course, I can’t comment on the other stylists; they are hopefully better than this.

Lisa absolutely ruined my hair. My hair was long and healthy and after I went My hair is now dead and keeps breaking off.The cut was choppy and uneven and thankfully someone at another salon was able to fix it for me. Lisa was completely disrespectful to me when I voiced my concerns and proceeded to ignore me after.

I have been getting my hair done here for nearly 13 years, by the same stylist. Shelly is amazing and I have nothing but praise for her. With that said, this past 6 months have been a challenge! With covid closures, I now need to book 7-14 days in advance. Ok, no problem. The problem lays with 2 appointments "lost". I book, I go for the time and days I booked and nope, no record of my appointment. Sorry, Shelly, but you just lost a long time customer by no fault of your own. I suggest you chat with whomever runs your reception area.

Received a trim from Sam a few weeks ago for $60. She spent about 15 mins total washing and trimming my hair and with the added bangs which were supposed to "blend in with the rest of my hair" it ended up looking like a mullet or little boys cut. Walked out putting my cap back on.

I absolutely love to come and see Candace at the salon!! She is a treat to talk to and she takes the time to try and understand exactly what it is that I want done. You can come in with a picture and she will recreate it. I trust her completely with my hair and I know she is passionate about her job. She has told me she has taken additional courses like hair color and extensions and therefore can create a wider variety of styles to better fit the picture you want to see of yourself. She continues to learn and grow. She is a true professional and makes my experience there very pleasant. Her schedule is very flexible and is one of the few stylists that work on holidays. As you walk in, the friendly reception staff greet you and their shelves are lined with high end hair products and the latest must haves. Beyond the product range though, my service with one of the new stylists Sam was fantastic. I wanted to go blonde but i think she sensed my hesitation and was able to guide me in what she thought would look best on my hair. She was also careful to not overprocess and started slowly with the blonde so that it wasn't so drastic and damaging to my hair. I ended up with amazing JLO colored hair and I couldn't be happier. With Sam as my stylist and the amazing team at Accentric I know I've found my hair home. Can't wait to see all the magic she can work on my do!
