Wow!! What service. Helen did an incredible job giving me a classic blow out. She was so kind, and made me feel like a queen! I kid you not, when waiting for my Uber out front - I was stopped by another woman who complimented my fantastic hair. It felt like a movie. In a time when we easily forget how cute we are because of all the sweats and messy buns, getting an appointment at Blo is one of the most uplifting forms of self care. Can’t say enough good things about this simple luxury of a service!

Uhhhh I can’t say I’ll be back. I’ve been to the port credit location and had a great experience and then came here cause it’s closer to my house. Firstly they seem a bit understaffed because the lady who was doing my hair seemed super tired & complaining about her long day. Umm sorry for booking? I didn’t feel too comfortable as a client. I was debating between a down-do or a fishtail, she recommended a down-do because it “would last for a few days after my event.” I told her I wanted a curled blow out but the sides pinned up, she told me pinning them up would cost extra (it didn’t cost extra when I was at blo port credit) but okay. So anyway, I opted not to get the sides pinned up. She then asked me if I was okay with product in my hair, I said sure- I’m down for anything. She curled my hair and then said “okay done!” And that was it. No suggestion of hair spray. Well, halfway through the night my hair fell flat again and today’s the second day, and it’s back to normal. It didn’t “last a few days after my event” as she suggested. Why? Because no hair spray. Even though I said that hairspray and products would be a-okay with me. I guess I assume that the people working here know what they’re doing and don’t need to be told, kinda like the blo port credit location. I remember at port credit blo dry bar I got the same hair-do and it lasted for days after. This time it didn’t. Anyway, I don’t know if I’ll be returning here again...

When I leave a stylist I want to love my hair.. it might fall flat later, or fall out, it happens, but I am leaving thinking how I can fix it at home. It doesn’t look professional. I wish I had just done it at home.. I feel bad because she did try... but totally missed the mark. Update: I decided to call in and express my concerns. Totally worth it, the manager, I believe Rose was her name, convinced me to come back in and she totally killed it :)

I don’t like leaving bad reviews but Blo Etobicoke ruined my day. I have visited twice before events and left with opposite of what I asked for. Before booking my second appointment, which was right before my baby shower, I showed a photo of exactly what I wanted. Even before making the appointment i showed the photo and was told upon booking that the style I desired was “definitely possible”. The look was voluminous, thick/chunky waves. But as someone else noted, they do not listen. The stylist looked at the photo and said “ok, cute” but the end result didn’t even come close! The stylists at this location seem to only use flatirons for curling which will never achieve a voluminous look. Instead of voluminous waves, I left with tons of curls which looked awful. I didn’t have time to have it fixed (not that they would have listened anyway) and decided I needed to rush home to try to fix my hair ASAP before my baby shower which was less than an hour later. Well it was basically unfixable without washing and completely dried out from extreme flatiron heat so I ended up having to put it up which was really upsetting after paying the price I did to have it done. I will NEVER return to this location and it’s unfortunate because the owner seems very sweet.

I booked this appointment with “extra time” which means I paid more for 1hr15min. The stylist, Nadia, was rough with my bonded extensions while shampooing which physically hurt (and damages my hair). I get blowouts weekly at my home town salons and have never felt more uncomfortable. I have 24 inch thick hair and any stylist would know to section the hair to dry it efficiently, the hair dryer was literally burning my scalp and back of neck because of her method… I asked for it to be styled down and curled and during that process she was using a straight iron and yanking it away from my head to curl. I now have parts of my extensions that are now unattached to my natural hair and I was wincing in pain. I didn’t say anything because I’m the type of person to still leave a tip and walk away. I should mention that her next appointment was booked during my paid time! I left the salon and had to fix my hair myself… it was completely flat on one side and the curls were very disappointing. My head hard from hairspray. Will not be visiting again.

I have extremely difficult hair and am very particular because we are both salon owners as stylists which we did not share because we love getting the chance to be a client. Staff walked into the salon directly from subway and didn't wash their hands before work. This is true for both makeup artist and hair stylist. They overbooked makeup artist, and caused me to be late for my event at 11am, although I paid more for early appointment before 9am. The place is dirty, starting from the outside staircases, as well as inside. They don't have PCs to check you out, so be careful of how they calculate the tips - they will tax you on the tip as well.

I have been to Blo Bars in New York and Toronto, I really wanted to love this location as well since it's so close to me but unfortunately 2/3 times I've been here, they did not meet my expectations for both experience and style. I thought my hair looked messy and went home to reo it myself before heading to a wedding, totally defeating the purpose of getting my hair done. My stylist was uninterested and barely engaged with me.

Incredibly rude social media management. Friend of mine had a video posted of her on instagram and was not tagged. My friend DMed them to take the video down, as they had not credited her. Initially they claimed to not have her handle, despite her giving it to her stylist and receiving the initial video over Instagram. After, my friend told them that was a lame excuse, and blo Vancouver replied, saying that there's "much more awful things going on in the world." To an Indigenous person. On "Truth and Reconciliation" day. (don't blame the stylist, blame the management.)

The staff was friendly and able to work me in at the last minute. Melissa, my stylist, really went above and beyond to style my short hair beautifully. The service is always pleasant and they have been accommodating the one time I was really late because of bad traffic. I went to get advise on what I should do with my hair and make up for a wedding I was attending in few weeks . I spoke to a very nice employee Irena who gave me good tips and suggestions. I did not want to book my appointment there as I got an email with a promotion of 20% off the services. I went home and tried to book it using the link in the email. I was only able to book one service. I called the Blo Bar and spoke to Andrea to find out why I am not able to use the link again. She told me she will speak with the manager and call me back. I never heard from her. Today I got another promotion and I called the place to ask about it. I spoke with Ashley. She told me this promotion was for a prom, not for a wedding. So since I was on the phone with her I asked about the email from the begging of May. Ashley was repeating that it’s a third party who does promotions for them and there was nothing she could do for me. I wanted to bring my daughter and my niece with me for hair and make up, but Ashley was not interested in getting more business or providing good customer service. When I told her I want to cancel my appointment I got confirmation of the cancelation email before I hang up the phone. Is Blo Dry Bar Etobicoke interested in getting satisfied customers ? It sure does not feel that way.

I am not sure if they are hair dressers or just stylists. I've gotten my hair done twice here it always feels like as friend is doing it and not in the way like feels comfortable but more so they are just winging it. Hair had turned out nice after not amazing. It's a quick spot to go to of you don't know how to style your hair. The blo drys are nice but I do prefer to splash out and go to an actual salon.

I requested a blow dry service with a conditioning/repairing hair treatment and I’m not even sure I received one. The appointment is supposed to be 60 minutes and I was in and out of there within 40. Not even sure if the conditioning treatment was used because I wasn’t told anything and the “conditioner” was only on for 10 seconds. Definitely not worth $70.

I got a stylist who didn't know how to style my hair (long and fine). If I'd wanted my hair to be caught in a round brush dozens of times I would have tried to style it myself. My 'red carpet' style was not red carpet worthy and fell flat within 30 mins. Two of my co-workers were there at the same time and their hair looked great; so the place does have some good stylists.

If you have curly hard to manage hair you need to ask for a senior stylist. Only seniors stylists will do a good job on curly hair in my experience. If you have non curly hair then any of the ladies will help you out. They are also very accommodating. I don’t give it 5 stars because I have had bad experiences with non senior stylists. That’s why now I only use senior stylists for my hard to manage hair.

Terrible. Ill-equipped place. I had doubts the moment I walked in. The brushes had missing bristles, broken bristles and were full of hair. Not cleaned between clients, only combed out, which is gross as not everyone gets their hair washed. Between two of us they were sharing one curling iron, one comb and one can of hairspray. Hair did not turn out at all how I wanted and lost ALL but one tiny curl 3 hours later, after making sure not to touch it for the 20 minutes it takes for the gel spray to set. I left at 3 and it was straight by dinner at 6. She had to curl my whole head twice, I would assume because she didn’t have her own hairspray to spray when it needed to hold the curl the first round. My hair was teased and had some volumizing powder put in it, only to have it plastered to my head and pinned back because she ran out of options to try and salvage her first hour of work. Only one side was supposed to be pinned. Trying to comb the rats nest out today did a LOT of damage. It didn’t need teasing or the powder to get a simple side parted curl. And now I’ve got a terrible bumpy rash all over my head that is so itchy I’ve resorted to gold bond cream on my scalp to get some relief. I still tipped as the girl was pleasant enough and I understand they rely on tips. But overall I was so very disappointed with the place and results. Never again. Perhaps sort your stylists out with their own products and tools to use at each station. Something other than hard plastic chairs to sit in for 1.5 hours would be great too.

My mom and I went in for up-dos for an engagement party. Chelsea did an AMAZING job with my hair. I knew what I wanted but I couldn't put it to words and this girl basically read my mind. My mom had difficulty with her hair as her hair is short and very fine so she didn't get what she wanted. Because she wasn't satisfied Chelsea didn't charge her and invited her back for a blow out with a senior stylist. In a situation like that I think she did everything she could and we will definetly be back.

She wanted to start curling my hair while it was still wet!!! I had to ask her to full dry it first. I will not be going back. Although the stylist my mom had was great.

Blo at Morgan Crossing has become my absolute go-to spot for my weekly blow outs. Every single person that I’ve had a blow out with has done a fantastic job. No matter who you book with, they are kind and talented individuals. I personally have a strong connection with Adeeba, and she has become my new hair girl. The worst experience ever! I live in neighborhood hood .There are lots of hair salons in this area. I blow dry my hair in a salon almost once a week and decided to try this one too , it was my second time there. Because of constructions at the area and weekend expected rush hour I was 10 min late for my appointment. The girl behind the stand was kept telling me that based on their policy they cannot wash my hair before blowout.How could it be. She made me feel very bad and angry .Very unprofessional manner. I stepped out and just in 20 meters walk entered in Seefu hair salon.They did a great job .The girl who washed my hair even gave me head and shoulders relaxing massage. Terrible place! I have never written a review for a salon before but this needed to be done. I was visiting Surrey from US and chose this salon to get my hair done for a wedding. I have never had a worst experience. The staff was very unprofessional and extremely rude. Customer satisfaction and customer service means nothing to them. They do not know how to do a basic blow out. Do not waste your money at this place.

Went here for an early morning appointment and was taken care of well. I'm not a big morning person, so I appreciated that I was able to sit quietly and read a magazine My hair turned out fabulous; I got a lot of compliments. It also lasted all day I will definitely be back. I'm not sure who the 7am person was, but she was amazing!

The WORST experience! You know when you are going out to see and be seen and they make you look worse than when you walked in!?!?. Not only looked worse but felt awful due to horrific customer service. She could'nt follow an easy picture as she was too busy with a downed ATM machine. Did not follow instructions and had an awful sour face. On top of that they have no washroom! Sent me to Pusateri's. Seriously!!?? Then offered me in writing 10% off..........what nerve after I paid $80 + tip to do what my grandmother could have done with 2 bobby pins! Maybe a couple of free blo dries as an offer would have avoded this post.

This salon is incredibe! The hair stylist that I had Fariba, was very sweet and very experienced. She enjoys what she's doing and is very passionate about hair. She listened to my hair concerns and answered all my questions. I have very long tangeled hair that can be very hard to manage. She washed it well and gave me a pleasant scalp masage. She also took her time with blow drying my hair. It turned out very beautiful and amazing! Overall, this salon is fab with very kind, professional and experienced staff. I was pleased with my gorgeous up-do and received so many compliments. I was skeptical about getting my makeup done because of previous experiences but the woman who did my makeup did such a natural and stunning look that lasted all night. I was very pleased with the direction and customer service i received and I would easily recommend Blo to anyone!

Got my hair done at Blo before my grandma's birthday celebration and the hairstyle I walked out of was okay. Definitely curls I could have done at home. It didn't help that I walked out with my hair smelling like the curler. I wouldn't go back here to get my hair done again for an event.

I love this location. Every time I am there the staff are super friendly and I’m happy with my hair when I leave. I highly recommend. One thing to be aware of, this location is not accessible. There are two sets of stairs to get up into the building. Other locations are accessible (and 5 star worthy!); from my experience the Vaughan location did not have stairs to enter and the yonge / lawerence area location did not have stairs either.

Employees are under skilled. Asked for a round brush blow dry got a finger and paddle brush dry. Asked for waves got tight ringlets. The stylists clearly do not have any experience and do not listen to requests. They also failed to rinse my hair fully and I left with my hair feeling dirty at the root. Would not recommend. Definitely not worth $47.50.

From the moment I met with Ashley at BloEtobicoke, I knew my hair for my wedding was going to be in great hands. When I went in for my hair trial, she worked her magic and i had amazing hair for 2 days! As my wedding morning came we made a few changes, and it was even better than the hair trial. My appointment was at 8am and it lasted from the warm weather, outdoor pictures and a whole lot of dancing! I will continue to come and get pampered here!

Came here to get my hair done before my bridal shower and I selected one of their featured styles for summer, the Dreamweaver. The stylist was super sweet but I could tell that she was not comfortable with this style. She had another stylist helping her. Unfortunately, it ended up looking nothing like the photo. The braided part (which turned out to be twists) was so thin. Overall, it just looked like a ponytail. I ended up taking out my hair and coming back to just get some waves. They were accommodating, and the next stylist offered me a $10 off my next service. I really think they should have refunded me as the whole thing took way longer than expected and was not what I had asked for. Very nice stylists, but I wish they were comfortable with all of the styles that they offer.

My sister and I got our make up done by a gentleman this last Saturday. He was fantastic! I’ve had my make up done many times and it was by far my favorite. It rained on us, we went to a concert and danced all night and then ended up at an amusement park where we went on amusement rides. What an adventure! Through all of that craziness our make up held up perfectly! Well done!!

Went to Blo Bar in Yorkville before my engagement shoot and left dissatisfied and had to go home and fix it. When I walked in, no one was in the salon, I waited for a good 5 min before someone came out, and she was not very welcoming. Already off to a poor start. I showed her a picture from their Instagram of what I wanted, and then she began. She was not very welcoming and it felt she did not want to be there. When she was done, it was not like the picture at all, I asked her to add more curls. She said the wand wasn’t working and then she added 4 curls and thought that was fine. I was so disappointed walking home. I looked in a window on the way and I saw that I had at least 20 baby hairs shooting vertically up! I then spent another hour trying to curl it to the way I wanted it, and still I did not get what I was looking for. Needless to say, it was not worth the money and the experience was not what I would have hoped for before my engagement shoot. I am giving it one star because they did smooth out my curly hair, but honestly that was the least they could have done. I will not be going back, nor will I be recommending it to any friends or family.

I have never written a review before but feel the need. I felt like we were in hair school and they had to put the hair manikins away while we were there. Half of the staff was obviously in training but getting only minimal directions from senior staff. Their own personal presentation was brutal. Their hair not done and wearing adidas sweat pants. My hair turned out okay as with my friends but it required a lot of direction to be fixed.

Rude, abrasive manager. Was 10 min late because I took my mother to a mammogram appointment and was stuck in traffic. I was told I could only do a basic blowout (brush style without hot tools, 45 min) or dry style. I had booked an extended time appointment for extensions. I agreed to the shorter 45 min blowout. Then, at the end of the rushed, frizzy blowdry—during which my extensions were nearly yanked out of my head and improper brushes were used on the extensions themselves, damaging them—the store deceptively attempted to charge me for the higher-priced extended time style I had originally booked. I don’t appreciate disingenuous, misleading businesses. I agreed to a shorter time style and that is what I should pay for. Had I known I would be expected to pay full price for shorter time and lower quality work, I would have gladly paid the $25 cancel fee and gone down the street for it to be done properly. Rather than be reasonable and accept it was her stylist who miscommunicated, the manager went on a long-winded lecture about my being 10 min late. Imagine a service industry in which one pays to be lectured by staff! Outrageous, considering I frequent this business twice weekly when in town. There are dozens of other hair salons and fierce competition; you would expect better customer service. Instead I was met with rude, petty, money-grubbing behaviour. Do not recommend this low-class salon. Go to Salon Daniel in Yorkville. Much better and know how to treat clients with respect.

I really wanted to like this place because it's only a few minutes from my office. I went in for a blow dry before a dinner I was attending and left more than disappointed. I had asked for just a fluffy voluminous blow out, I didn't want to use any heat tools like the straighter afterwards. The lady (who was very nice) didn't understand the concept of a blow out. She dried it straight but yet still frizzy on the top then kept telling me "don't worry I'm not done yet" then he took the straighter and started to flatten it even more but add in tiny ringlets at the bottom ends. She also over dried my hair so much that it was smoking and my hair feels very fried now. She did get someone to help her once i asked her to stop and i think this lady would have been able to do a blow dry as she seemed to know how to add in some curls with a big barrel curling iron. I did not know that someone could mess up on a blow dry. Save your time and money and just go to salon across the street in the mall for a quick blow dry by professionals. The manager (at least I assume is the manager) did not care, even when I told her "this did not turn out well" she just said "okay". I ended up feeling so embarrassed about my appearance at the dinner as it looked like I did not know how to take care of myself and I had to throw my hair up in a messy bun. I told Blo that I was willing to just fix it myself and there would be no problem but they refused to let me use the iron.

I walked into blo today as a first-time customer wanting to get a blowout and I was turned away. They claimed that they were too busy but there was nobody in the waiting room area. When I asked them if they could try and fit me in within the next hour they said no we're solidly booked until 7 and unfortunately they cannot do anything for me so I'm quite disappointed with blo and my first time experience with them.
