This place is fantastic! I always go in looking like a ragamuffin and leave with a great cut and beard trim (when pandemic restrictions permit). Rob makes himself available outside of business hours when you are in a pinch and it's obvious he puts in long days to accommodate his clients. Rob also cuts my son's hair who had a phobia of hair cuts before coming to McArthurs. Rob arranged to cut his hair before open and engaged with him in conversation and demonstrated great care for his sensitivity. My son now loves to go there and always walks away feeling and looking cool.

My boyfriend is very happy with his haircut. He was from out of town and stopped in for a walk-in. He was served quickly, had good conversation, liked the atmosphere and the haircut looks very good! He also found it very reasonably priced at $20, taxes in! He will go back next time he is in Brockville.

OK, the first thing to assess about a barber shop is whether you can get a good haircut there. At Rob's place, that's a check! And I visited all the locals after Bernie decided to retire over a year ago. So if getting a good haircut is the destination, how is the journey? Nice, I'd say. You can engage in conversation, you can watch TV, you can play video games or just sit there and read a book, the magazines or your phone. Last time in, I was the only guy there and Rob and I chatted about life for 15 minutes after my cut, just for the heck of it. And it was nice, and fun. And he now knows my name, too! Richard

Mom & Pop barbershops are vanishing. One of the elements of the old barbershops was the sense of neighborhood. You barber got to know you. It often felt like coming to visit friends. While McArthur's Barbershop does a fine job, after a half dozen visits over the year or more, I'm still a stranger. One of the elements of good business is remembering the names of your returning customers and engaging them in conversation. That doesn't happen here, unless you are are a "buddy"... in which case, your barber is talking to everyone else, his friends, fellow hair-cutters etc....everyone...but you. I don't care for the franchise shops but after my second visit to one nearby, she knew my name and remembered something I told her on the first visit. It's more than just cutting hair.

Great haircut every time I’ve gone here. Rob is always friendly and makes great conversation not only with myself but making everyone in the shop feel welcome. This especially helps when the shop is busy and wait times are long however I would rather have a barber that takes their time with each cut rather than rushing people through just to make a buck. Cheers to Rob and his staff, I hope you guys get a lunch break soon!

With friendly outstanding service, excellent vibes and atmosphere and a comfy sitting area while following Covid19 guidelines this is the best place to finally get your beard trimed to a sweet low fade you've been wanting to do to get rid of that lockdown hair. Rob only does bookings by appointment only, he gets good business so if hes a bit behind dont worry about it! Its completely worth it! Rob has been in business since 2017 and ive been there for trims and now taking my son to get his haircut " dad is this where the boys hangout?" Welcome to the boys club!

This is the best barbershop around! The owner is very professional, definitely knows what he’s doing:) We take our son there who has special needs since they opened in Brockville, and we get nothing but the best service and the owner is super nice:) He always welcomes my little guy by name, he knows exactly how to handle him, he knows his quirks and always takes his time to ensure I get exactly the haircut I want for my son. I know he is usually booked solid so I make it is point to BE EARLY so I don’t waste any of his time. Was booked for 1pm, 5 other people were also booked for 1pm. Was told to come back in an hour as he was “behind”. One guy doing haircuts. I understand everyone needs haircuts right now but at least space the appointments accordingly so you don’t fall behind, or at least give your customers a quick call and a heads up in case they drive 40 min to get there on time, like in my case. I’ll give your shop another try soon, I was just having a rough day, my bad.

Took my boys to their first barber haircut . I was a bit nervous and didn't know what to expect As my boys are biracial and it's difficult finding someone who know how to cut thier hair properly. Rob was really patient with the kids and interact with them very well. Both my boys really love thier haircut and have ask to keep coming back. Highly recommend ????

This guy is not professional. He told my husband to bring my son for 3 o’clock today (Saturday) for a boys haircut. This appointment was booked on a Thursday. We drove 30 mins to get there and the doors were locked. The barber shop was closed. Why bother giving an appointment if you are going to be closed? Not impressed at all. I’m not sure how they got the ratings they did if this is how they handle business. So unprofessional. So disappointing. No thank you.

Rob couldn’t get me in today (Saturday) because he was fully booked and closes at 3pm. I was really hoping I could get in for a cut because I’m moving to kingston this weekend and don’t want anyone else to cut my hair so he came back into the shop at 6pm just for me. Made an appointment for Monday at 7pm, his assistant thought I said Sunday 7pm (easy mix up with these masks) I showed up at 7pm Monday and met him outside at the door as he was cleaned up and heading home for the night, he showed me I was booked in for the day before, but without any hassle agreed it’s an easy mistake and still took me in for my 7pm appointment even when he was on his way out! Super nice and funny guy, always a good time when you’re there, recommend for sure.
