I had the special on their website cut and colour with new talent. The colour was wrong she said she would discount it, also the hair cut was fairly basic yet she managed to botch it. I have gotten better at first choice at Franklin for way less and do the colour myself. When I went to pay she started saying that it would be about $100 and she would discount it. Then i reminded her that it was the special on the website. She changed it but then said the ends of my hair was a $20 dollar charge??? I don't get it she had 90% virgin hair and my hair comes to my shoulders. I have been there a few times now and i keep telling myself i wont go there, never again.... I feel as if they make up the prices as they go along and inflate things like crazy,,,, this was the last straw,,,

I appreciate the time and patience it took to lighten my very dark colour treated hair and create a beautiful balayage look. She is the first stylist who successfully lightened my hair with minimal damage and was able to give me a toned and blended look. She is extremely personable and makes each and every client feel important. Her passion for her craft is obvious and I will continue to come back to her!

They don’t try to up sell you or force products on you. They give you all the info you need to make the right decisions! I never feel overwhelmed when I get there or leave. Great salon, nice and clean but I am not impressed with the second hair cut I just had there. I asked for someone that works well with fine short hair, the first time I went just for a trim as the person I used to go to has moved, good first trim, second time I asked to go just a little bit shorter at the back and on the top and a trim... I came away after paying $50. For a trim, my hair is so short it's almost scalped, so uneven and a total mess, I can't use a brush on it to style it, which is another thing I tried to make clear. I was darn near tears! And the stylist told me not to worry because my hair always seems to grow quickly and I'm in there so often... It was my second and last time! I had to go to another place to get it fixed, so now it's even shorter. My hair grows very very slowly and is very fine, if this is how your hair is avoid going here to who they recommend.

I've been going to Halo for about 8 Years now, I have always had an amazing experience, Jodie and Christine do my hair, I can never choose who to go to so when I book an appt I just ask for who has the soonest availability. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, they have a coffee/tea bar for their clients and always have great advice on what would work best for you and your hair.

I'm just not sure where to start, I have been going here almost a year now, I am not one to complain and felt bad not booking when they asked. BUT I have finally had enough. They are friendly and talkative to SOME people but not everyone. I agree with the other comments; they are very expen$ive for what you get ( it's not the most beautiful place and needs some updates) Along with the very inconsistent pricing, how it works is you get a few discounts when you start, then the price goes up every time (for the same thing) Recently I got my hair coloured its costed well over $250. The colour was not nice looking after I saw it outside (tbh it wasn't what she told me it would be) Then I went back two days later to get it corrected ( it didn't get much better looking.) They had me pay the full price and gave me no compensation (not even an apology) Each time I have gone they have me pay for a treatment but I personally never see any difference. Overall in the past two visits I spent almost $400! I am just so upset and hope that this does not happen to anyone! On another note the sinks are not disinfected and they wipe stuff down with USED towels. None of the tools or brushes are disinfected at all. So be careful! As well Lying your head back in the sink on the hard surface can cause tearing in your neck’s arteries, which can lead to blood clots, and even death ( be sure to ask for a towel)

Amazing experience last night at Halo with Kass; my hair dresser of 4 years botched an Ombre/ Bali- my hair was orange and brassy- some pieces were 3 or 4 colours... it was a disaster- Kass gave me my options and worked for hours to get the look I had originally wanted... she was knowledgable, professional and super easy to speak with- I will be switching to Kass for my future hair needs!! Amazing job so GRATEFUL! Have been back multiple times- Ally took over while Kass away - no mess to clean up but amazing colour amazing cuts- great convo- professional, talented, personable - she’s my gal- highly highly recommend!!

I have been going to the co-owner Christine before Halo even opened since 2001. I only get wash, cut and styling done. Christine is the only person that knows how to cut my hair properly to fall correctly as I am a wash and go type of person. I have been going to Halo since it opened and I am always pleased with the service by all of the staff. From the moment I walk in to the time I walk out, I get incrediably warm service. I moved to Brampton from Cambridge 3 years ago and continue to drive the hour to Halo every 10 weeks to get my hair trimmed by Christine.

$175+ to make my hair a mess of stripes. I asked for it all one colour. This isn’t just a misunderstanding about foils vs not. If the foils had been done evenly it would be fine, but as-is there is nowhere I can part my hair that it looks ok. It’s patchy and uneven, with bright spots starting up to 1cm away from my scalp. (Photo taken the same day as the appointment). They offered to do a correction, but to look like this for six days before the next appointment slot, then spend 3 more hours in the chair... they insisted that this looked ok today, how can I trust it will be better next time? She did a good job on the toner on my existing colour.

Like several other women, I thought this salon was amazing. Everyone was so friendly; the staff is amazing in that respect-always making sure you are comfortable, providing hot beverages and even cookies. Like others, the prices at first were very reasonable but the third time I had highlights and a trim, I was shocked to get a bill of over $200. I have been to several high end salons in upper Waterloo and I've never paid more than $130. When I asked for a breakdown of my bill, I was told I had had 2 treatments on my hair that amounted to $40. I had no idea that I was even getting these. So as others have warned, make sure you ask upfront what the prices are. The most disappointing thing about this experience is that when I went to work the next day, no one even noticed my hair. I paid a lot extra for the same results.

I have a medical condition that causes premature balding (in my early 30s). It makes me anxious to get my hair cut because despite asking stylists to be gentle, the shampooing and brushing usually causes excessive hair loss for me. I had my hair cut by Carolina today, and she was the most gentle and attentive stylist EVER. I recommend 100%!

I've gone a few times, and when unhappy with a colour result (a communication issue) the salon went above and WAY beyond to fix the problem and give a truly spectacular result. Just had my girls' hair cut by Rose, she is an owner so I was hoping a little more effort would have gone into their cuts. Their hair was put into a pony tail cut off then trimmed around to make it even. She literally just cut around the bottom of their hair with one hand. I understand the pony part as they wanted to donate their hair. I have never seen hair cut like this and never have I seen it cut dry. I had her thin their hair out and she barely brushed the hair our before taking the cape off and saying she was done. To top it off I was charged $70! $80 with tip. I wish I could have given the tip to the girl who washed and dried their hair. More effort was put into that. If you are going to charge the high end of a kids cut give a high end cut. Just because they are kids doesn't mean they don't deserve a little style. Two of my daughters have come here before with different stylists and they put way more time into the cuts just like other salons I have taken them to. I guess an owner doesn't have time for kids.

Very pleased with my first visit to Halo Hair Studio. Great experience from booking right through to the finished style due to friendly, professional staff. My stylist/colorist was a lovely young woman named Wahida. She had her work cut out for her with my covid hair that went uncut and largely ignored for a year. She was not daunted by it at all. In addition, Wahida offered me some excellent ideas for how to approach coloring going forward as more and more grey hair encroach. I appreciated that. Love the colour and cut! Very satisfied. Wahida is also an interesting conversationalist; well informed on a wide range of subjects. I am hoping to enjoy her company for many more visits in the future. The salon was very clean, and covid precautions were observed well. I would recommend Halo Hair Studio without reservation.

Honestly I’ve never only gotten my hair cut twice since 2013 and this experience I had last week on Wednesday was the most amazing experience ever! I’m very skeptical about my hair and wanting to maintain the length due to a mishap with a hair salon in 2013 and never wanted a cut again. Ali from Halo hair studio was super friendly and amazing and I’ve officially found my new hairstylist! She was super easy to talk to and new what I wanted when I explained to her about my hair treatments in the past and how keeping the length of my hair was crucial to me! The ambiance of the studio was super friendly with the receptionist making me feel super welcome as well! Ali has done phenomenal work and I left the studio feeling so relieved and satisfied with my hair (which rarely has happened to me). Ali gave me a treatment for deep conditioning my hair and made me hair feel fresh even days later! I kid you not when I tell any reader that this studio is by far the most amazing hair studio I’ve been too and I’m super excited and happy to go back and get any hair related concerns or issues done from them! First impressions are lasting ones and all I can say is Ali at the Halo studio kept this girl smiling for days :) thank you so much!

This was my first time at Halo Hair Studio. From beginning to end I had a very wonderful experience. The environment was extremely clean and welcoming. Rose & her assistant were kind, caring, and very professional. Rose was able to get my hair colour bang on! When I was finished, I was very shocked and pleased about how identical my hair was afterwards to what I had before. Honestly, it was exactly what I wanted. I came here after a recommendation from a friend, and had high hopes. Unfortunately, I learned the LONG and expensive way that it was just not worth it. I spent 5 (!!!) hours in the salon for highlights, toner, smudge and a cut. It cost over ~$350, AFTER a $25 discount. It is advertised that first time customers receive 25% off, so this is what I expected, though I did not receive this. Upon calling the salon, I was told I would be called back by a supervisor to discuss this (I also mentioned I wouldn’t be returning) and have yet to hear over a week later. My hair looks very choppy (I can’t part or style it any way other than the way it was when I left the salon) and it does not resemble the picture/look I asked for. I am very disappointed, and am still shocked over the cost and time spent here. I am definitely not returning, and will not recommend to others. If you are to go here, I would recommend asking for a very detailed break down of time and cost anticipated upfront, as opposed to waiting to be slammed with the huge bill at the end of a very long appointment. Sigh. I will say that the salon was clean, staff were friendly and ultimately you can notice a difference in my hair (not a great one though), so 2 stars.

I had previously gone to a different salon where my hair cut was extremely messed up. Kassi was able to correct the cut and also made sure to check in and tell me what she was planning to do to correct it before she did it to make sure I was ok with it - which is extremely appreciated! I love my new cut and colour and I will absolutely be back as well as referring my family and friends to her. Kassi is professional, detail oriented, really friendly and very talented at what she does. I highly recommend Kassi and the salon!

Went to Halo for the first time and have my long blond hair done beautifully by Rose, a co-owner of the salon. to have my roots, more highlights and a trim I spent around $125. I recommended halo and specifically Rose to so many people telling them to go and say my name and they would get 25 dollars off, they didn't get that when they came in. even my sister who has the same last name as me could not get a discount saying I recommended her. Then I went in a second time thinking it was such a good price for quality service. But i had a terrible experience. I was called and asked if I would come 30 minutes earlier since Rose had a cancellation. I did so and then waited 45 minutes for her to see me. Then she put a few foils in and had her assistance work on me. then she trimmed my hair, tried to sell me a bunch of things I didn't want and went on to her next few customers. On top of this I payed $200.00 for my hair. where did that price jump come from? I work at a restaurant. I know this reviews can really be harsh, but they wake the staff up to some major problems. I hope Halo will read and consider that they are loosing customers by running their business in such an inconsistent way. But at 200 dollars a pop maybe they dont need me.

Today was my first time at Halo and it was a great experience. Wahida is awesome and she did a really great job on my hair. We went over the cut I wanted, and through the whole process, she made sure to confirm that I was okay with everything she was doing. Even calling to make my appointment was a good experience. The woman I talked to took the time to explain the different levels for the hair stylists and how much a haircut would cost with each level, which matched the range on the website. I really appreciated the explanation. I definitely recommend Halo, especially Wahida. It was the best haircut experience I've had in years.
