I had some serious COVID-19 craziness going on, but wanted a haircut that would keep the length and give me something cool and new to work with. Andee took the time to really figure out my crazy thick hair and natural direction, and gave me a bunch of options of where we could go. And the best part - they could tell when I was confused and didn't know what to do, then give me direction! And ended up with an amazing new style that won't be a nightmare to manage. The best part: I got home and my kids love it. thank you Andee!

Rachelle is fantastic! She actually listens to what you want, and gives advice based on it and lets you know what she can or cannot do to get what you want. She's one of the only hairdressers who actually gave me and asked me what I needed. Her head shampoo massage is divine too! Docked a star because even though it was my first time there, the guy at the reception said: yup go get a robe. Gestured vaguely. I did not know where they were, if I should leave my coat there, etc or where I should sit and wait for Rachelle. Made me uncomfortable and not sure of myself.

Really nice salon! Super modern and cute and everyone there was super nice! Though my hair didn’t come out great I still would recommend the salon but be sure to speak up! My hair was a bit more red than I would have liked but a really good start for what I was trying to go for as my hair was really dark! The cut they gave me was VERY choppy though and I ended up fixing it myself at home so it was fine! I would go back though and just not get a cut!:)

She went through my reference photos and found THE colour that has the vibe I wanted but actually fits my tone:) She let me check under the sunlight to see how it looks in natural light environment and made sure I was comfortable with my new look! I had a shampoo and blow-dry done by Renee before I left for a vacation in January. She hardly spent any time on it and by the next morning it looked like I hadn't been any where near a hairdressing salon. A real waste of money! I won't go back there again.

Very happy with the hair dying I got done and loved the covid cautions at the salon, but do not use their website for pricing! I asked for a mid to junior stylist and the starting pricing for the hair treatment I wanted started at $100 based on their website, so I assumed it could be up to double since my hair is a little over shoulder length, but no! After tax and environmental fees it was $415! And that’s before tip. I think they may have messed up and booked me with a more expensive stylist, but I couldn’t believe it was 4x more than the list price! I had already booked time off work to go, so I sucked it up and paid, but dang! Make sure to confirm an estimate before showing up!

I booked an appointment with Izzy to have some highlights and a haircut not too long ago and I just want to say how wonderful she is and how wonderful the whole salon is! Very clean/modern environment, I loved how organized and tidy the entire space was, and their staff were really sweet. Izzy is soooo amazing, she took the time to make sure she was giving me exactly what I wanted/understood what my vision was, and was very detailed in the consultation, which I greatly appreciated because to me it showed she cared about my experience. She really shows a high level of professionalism, talent, and passion in what she does, she is also incredibly kind and easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. I am over the moon happy with the cut and the highlights that she did on my hair. She had me leaving the salon feeling like royalty! I will definitely be booking another appointment with her in the future.

I will never be able to do my hair anywhere else. I've gone through three hair stylists here, and I look like a fantasy character with dream hair every time I leave. Stef is the best and so funny and nice, so expert at all that she does. Also she always dresses cool and is more of a friend than a stylist so thats a big bonus. Michael is hype and always chats with me when I see him, such a great personal touch here. Also I get so wrecked on mochas in the best way because they're always asking if I'm thirsty or not. Well worth, great environment, not to be dramatic but I'd kill myself if I had to go elsewhere. Love Space Salon!

Wasting time, wasting money, not recommended. I showed the stylist a picture to do same colour on my hair. The result was very different from the picture. After she saw my hair, she told me that the process will take 4 hrs. It took her 6 hrs and charged me extra for that time. Next day she did catch up to change the colour as I want, but she wasn’t friendly and the result was better but still not as I want.

I really liked Space Salon and the stylist there. He was so bubbly and my hair was fantastic afterwards. The only reason I didn't go back was cause I moved out of the area and had to find someone closer, which has been a challenge. Consider them... If you need someone new. I have very long thick hair, which always seems to be a challenge and they did a great job!

I was looking to go blonder and Isabelle did exactly that! She was so friendly the entire appointment and matched my photo references perfectly. They also had a great set up for COVID, I felt super safe and taken care of. Great place to go if you are looking for a stylist! Isabelle is the best!

I had my hair done with Andee and they were brilliant! I was a blonde with some grown out roots wanting to go back to my natural colour. Andee sat with me and listened to what I wanted and then worked with me to figure out the best option for my hair. They explained every process and also educated me on the types of products/at home care that would be best for my hair type and condition long term. They recommended high-end products offered in the salon but also suggested more affordable alternatives when I wasn't able to make a big purchase at the time. It is obvious they are passionate and so knowledgeable about their craft. They also give the best head massages! It is a pretty high end salon which can sometimes be intimidating but Andee made me feel super welcome and comfortable as soon as I walked in. The salon was beautiful and had very thorough COVID measures. An unfortunate situation occurred when the power went out which was beyond the salon's control. Andee worked incredibly hard with a ring light to make sure my hair was perfect. They were not able to style it due to the power outage but instead offered to put my hair in beautiful french braids so I would still leave the salon with a cute look. My hair came out exactly how I wanted it and I've never felt more confident. All of the staff were so friendly. Would highly recommend Space Salon and Andee to anyone.

Best hair cut and colour I've had in a long time! I find it so difficult to find a good hair stylist, especially moving to a new city. Anthony was my stylist, and he did an amazing job. His several years of experience definitely shows in his work. I went from being a blonde to a brunette (never done before) and it was perfect. He is also friendly and outgoing and my visit was very enjoyable. The entire staff were welcoming and professional. Can't wait for the next visit! I highly recommend this salon and this stylist!

Renee is the best! I wanted to do some vivid colours in my hair, but being new in town I hadn't yet found a stylist I trusted. I wasn't sure about placement or colour and I needed some guidance. I came in for a consultation with an inspiration picture and not much else, and Renee was so patient with me and helped me come up with the perfect hair! I absolutely LOVE my hair. The salon is professional with a fun, laid back quality that made me feel totally at ease and as if I was among friends. I went to space Salon to get some natural highlights with lighter ashy tone, after spending 4 hours of my Saturday there, what they did was intense flashy highlights, almost like someone drew lines on my head! The lady pulled my hair while putting the paint on my hair! I went home and booked another session to fix it for the week after! I took time off from work and went back and apparently she was double booked! She talked to me very briefly and said she will put toner on my hair to make it look more natural. She put the toner and left me with another person for rinsing. She did not come back to check on me as she was busy with her other client! All in all, my hair looks like what it was originally before I went to Space Salon (even darker) without any highlights which means I paid more than $250 and came back home with almost the same look except the cut that I am happy with! I was surprised and shocked how they treated me the second time I went there! I understand miscommunication might happen sometimes and l wanted to give them another opportunity to fix things but they double booked me without any attention about my concerns and no care that I have been their client for almost 2 years! All in all, My head still hurts because of pulling my hair too much and I have very thin and fragile hair, after going through these intense processes, I need to wait couple of months before even thinking about getting highlights again which is disappointing! UPDATE: I am updating my review here as I met Michael (the owner) today! He was very responsive and reactive to rectify the situation and gave a full refund! I have opted my review to 4 stars, as I believe in Michael and what he does, mistakes can happen!

I have been to caramel/ space salon for many years, always going to Melissa. I Thought she was a good hairdresser since I was always satisfied but now I realize I just gave her direct orders with no room for interpretation because the last haircut was a complete disaster. I have long curly hair, she cut it way too short and added no layers resulting in me looking like a poodle. I go back the next day to add layers and she somehow makes it worse. I don't understand how this happened and how I did not notice earlier that the styling and method here is terrible. Melissa, nice girl, bad cut and style. After years of patronage, today I decided to never return.

Remember that review I left a few months back where I praised Erin’s service and skills, that if she ever left to set up on her own? Even if it was in a cardboard box on some street corner - well that day has arrived!! It’s just too bad that Space didn’t have the decency to contact me to let me know that Erin no longer worked for the salon, despite having had no problems in the recent past to send me emails, text messages or voicemails. What were the staff going to do if I’d turned up today expecting Erin to cut my hair - give me over to another stylist? No thanks. Erin has been my stylist for over 15 years, I’m her client, not the salons; where she goes, I’ll go.

Renee took me in when I had bleached and toned my own hair at home with products bought at a pharmacy. I needed some urgent help and corrective assistance to get to where I wanted to be. She was incredibly helpful, patience and knowledgeable. She walked me through the entire process and explained to me what was going to happen and the cost around it all. I feel incredibly comfortable with her and sitting in her chair is defintely the highlight to my day. She reads your body language and knows if you want to talk for the entire appointment, or if you just want to sit and relax. Super friendly, personable and a beautiful human being. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! plus, the salon is professional, clean and always on time.

I found my new hairdresser!!! I had my hair cut and colored by Renee and she was amazing!!! I have very fine and difficult hair especially since I love a sleek a-line bob but this time I wanted to do something funky and she totally understood what I wanted and had great ideas to make it work for my hair and face shape. She took the time to check the line and how my hair naturally falls and I didnt have to do any touch ups on my own. And the color! Not only was she able to fix the muddy pink mess that was my hair and make it gorgeous but the color last for weeks and faded out nicely!!!

They do an awesome hair cut, but they could do better to explain their products. I bought a ORIBE dry texture hair spray and my sells associate really did not explain how to use it well. When I asked how does one also use it as dry shapoo, they just say that it is styling spray (I think I asked 3 times and I'm still wondering if I should be just spraying over top?)! I do wish that they had asked if I wanted anything to drink. I had to ask for glass of water as I was paying.

Never go there! An absolute nightmare! A friend of mine suggested that I go to Space Salon because they offered Olaplex treatments. I was not prepared for the following events. Not only was I given the option to go home with damp hair or wet hair (while feeling sick- didn't want to cancel on them last minute) but the second time around when they were supposed to redeem themselves involved, burning my entire ear, what I feel to be emotional abuse by the stylist Lyndon, and total and utter disregard of a hairstyle I wanted was a nightmare!! Lyndon became very rude with me saying, "Listen, you're not telling me what you want", after I showed her a picture!! I went there on my birthday and left crying and traumatized. I ended up doing my own hair. Never go here!!! In response to the owner: It wasn't a threat to post a review as I find posting an honest review to be helpful to others. I never asked him to fire Lyndon but she should have apologized to me. When the owner said if there is anything I can do in future after much consideration I gave him the option to do my hair and he never responded. I thought this would be a more postitve experience as he is the owner and would most likely care more about his clients instead he slanders my character. I don't appreciate someone slandering my character when I am a client and they don't even know me and I was only stating how I felt. I wish him all the best and will not be recommending anyone to this salon in future due to lack of respect and not wanting anyone else to feel the way I did during my two experiences there. Also, I was more interested in having an updo which they readily agreed to as I didn't want to leave with wet hair again since I was a little worried about that.

Tima is awesome! She did a wonderful job, I love my hair. The blond is super beautiful and I couldn't have asked for better and I do my blond often and this is one of the best I had . I recommend her 100% ! Since I lost my job because of Covid she accommodated me and did what I wanted in my budget which I appreciate a lot. She is professional and the salon is taking really good precautions for Covid .

EDIT: The owner was nice enough to respond to my review and offer a second visit without charge to fix my haircut. Stef was amazing. Very talented and professional. I am happy with the results. I went to this salon for a hair cut however I wouldn't call what I got there a "haircut". More like a trim may be. I wouldn't recommend this place for my fellow brown ladies because they didn't have the expertise to deal with our thick hair. 1. The stylist that I had asked/paid for got busy with another client half way through my session and left me with another less experienced stylist even though I paid the higher price. 2. While styling my hair the less experienced stylist kept sighing and saying "so much hair" and "that's a lot of hair". Referencing to my hair being thick hence being lot of work for her. 3. I got there for haircut and paid a pretty penny for it but I don't think I got one. The actual cutting part of my hair took less than 15 minutes. They simply evened out my hair gave it a trim and called it a day. When I expressed my concern upon not having the layers I asked for. They simply said "oh it's so your hair doesn't fall off the pony tail" and left to attend to the other client. Pictures for reference. First pic is the haircut I asked for. Second and third pics are haircut I got. So ladies with thick hair if you want a trim and don't mind paying a lot of money for it and having to feel bad for being a lot of work for the stylists this is your place. I would NOT recommend. You would think a place like this would be able to cater to a person of color. Disappointed.

Will not let ANYONE touch my blonde but Tima. Shes been doing blondes forever and gets all the tones and shades exactly how I ask. We first met when she had to fix a terrible expensive mistake I had gotten from another stylist here. I cannot express enough how amazing Jaelyn is as a stylist. I have looked for someone that understands what I want even when I'm having trouble communicating it for YEARS AND YEARS. She sits down and takes the time to truly understand what you're wanting and will explain if something can't be done to PROTECT YOUR HAIR and will set up a plan to get to that goal. She always goes above and beyond and is so professional. I'm heartbroken I am moving provinces because I want to take her with me. All the staff have been so welcoming and warm. The store is always clean and tidy. I am always relaxed and I truly have never walked away not absolutely loving my hair. I always get asked where I get my hair done and I am proud and eager to send them to Jaelyn.

DO NOT GO TO ERIN!!!! she completely ruined my hair. I asked for a dark blonde, she dyed it black and sealed the colour. She did not show me a colour board of what she was doing, I went to get it stripped and they broke my whole top off my hair. Just awful, I used to go to Carly at Carmel ( who is a amazing). 5 months later and my hair is still ruined, I can never bleach it again until this all grows out. Erin should find another career choice

I had a really good experience here a good few months ago. My appointment was delayed but the owner and my stylist were so apologetic and gave me a free conditioning treatment as well as money off my haircut who h was very nice! My stylist Andee was amazing and specialised in curly hair so I was in good hands! Great friendly and professional experience overall :)

Great salon and extremely clean! I would consider myself a clean-freak and this place is spotless. It is extremely safe to get a hair cut here, each stylist has their own work station completely separated from the next. I will definitely be back in the near future.

Absolutely thrilled with my experience at Space! Renée is a fantastic stylist, she took the time to speak with me in detail about which colour I wanted and what would be best for me. I wanted a vibrant colour and initially thought of blue however after some discussing my natural tones we decided to opt for pink instead. Renée made a particular effort to colour my hair so that there were different complementary tones and so the grow out would look good. She made me feel so comfortable and welcome as did the rest of the staff. Overall delighted with the outcome and I will definitely be going back!
