Edit: I was contacted by the owner Michelle, who offered to bring me back in for another service so I could have a good customer experience. This is what customer service is all about. Thank you so much! ???? ----- I really loved my haircut and the atmosphere but the guy who cut my hair was super awkward. I wad there for almost 90 minutes and he barely said one word. This put a tremendous damper on the experience (and his tip). Putting the customer at ease is part of customer service and that wasn't what I experienced. Would go again, but would ask for a different hairdresser.

Went for a balayage at Mardecus and spent a small fortune (300+) to have pretty much nothing in the end. There were a few light brown/blonde streaks, very far from a balayage. I felt extremely disappointed and reached out to the salon the next day to see if there was anything they could do as I have been a loyal client for over three years. They responded rudely and blamed it on my hair having been box dyed, so the colour wouldn’t lift as well. However, I have NOT box dyed my hair in YEARS and Britany ( hairdresser)and I had never had a conversation about my hair being box dyed or that it would take multiple visits. The entire conversation with Michele (manager) over the phone was awful,She was rude, unhelpful, and accusatory, saying I’d need 3 appointments to get a balayage ( at over $300/appt!!!). Brittany had never consulted me on that ahead of time and the “extensive” consultation Michelle claims Britany had with me was in fact a quick 5 minutes immediately before doing my hair. Michelle insisted there was absolutely nothing they could do to rectify the situation. Her rude attitude and the fact that Britany has never reached out to me speaks volumes about this place. Ever since getting my ‘balayage’, people have asked where I got my hair done...not in a good way. When I tell them it’s a balayage, they are horrified as it looks NOTHING like a balayage. It is patchy streaks and much of my hair wasn’t even touched. Save your money time and energy and go anywhere else but this poorly managed salon that does such poor work and then does not stand behind it. I have attached a photo of my “balayage”.

I was able to get a last minute appointment and I was not disappointed. Kyle was fantastic and knew exactly what he was doing. Super friendly and awesome. Will for sure ask for him next time!

Every stylist I've been to is lovely. I have challenging hair and it needs fine tuning regularly and stylists spend extra time on the cutting and shaping to help me get the longest wear.

I just walked in to buy olaplex no 7 and the front desk lady was extremely friendly and helpful, I got a free sample, and she took the time to explain what everything was for. Very nice experience. :)

We've been struggling to find a good salon for our two boys in Maple Ridge. It was recommended that we reach out to Mardecus! I'm so happy we did.. the experience, friendly staff and the stylist Kyle who cut the boys hair was great! The manager Michelle also made the effort to introduce herself and wanted to ensure we were happy with the service! We will be back!

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago and got my brows done by Liza. Needless to say it was the best brow experience I’ve ever had. She does a detailed consultation which really allowed for me to leave with the best brows! I definitely will be coming back.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff who transformed my over blonde and damaged hair into a healthy cut and color I love! Extensive product line - Bumble and Bumble is my fave - at good prices. Taking cleanliness and pandemic protocols very seriously to make both the customer and employee feel safe. I had a great experience and will recommend to my elderly mother. Michelle the owner is amazing. I've been looking for years for someone to give me what I was asking for. So often I left other salons feeling unsatisfied. Either yellow or ash but never the blonde I wanted. She is so good she makes it look effortless. An absolute pro!!! Since my appointment I have received many compliments. So happy!

I have been going to Mardecus since it first opened and I have never had a negative experience there. Michelle, the owner, has always gone above and beyond to make sure that I am pleased with my hair. On a couple of occasions, when I wasn't completely sure whether I liked the colour, her attitude was always to give it a couple of days and if I still wasn't happy, come back and she would change it. I never did come back for a change because I always ended up loving it in the end. She is always more than kind and courteous, as all are all the staff. I really can't say enough good things about this salon, and the staff.

I have to respond to these comments with regard to the attitude of Michele, the owner of the establishment. I have been a client for many, many years and the one thing that I know for sure is, Michele will go above and beyond to make sure the clients are happy with the service provided to them. She would never be rude or confrontational with clients and would always find a way to make things right if the client was unhappy with the service. I have seen how treats her clients and it is always with respect and courtesy and makes sure they are happy. This salon is the best I've ever found and I would recommend it without any hesitation.
