This place is awesome. My wife saw Lala Santos. She was very professional, and took extra time and care to make my wife's hair just how she wanted it. My wife has extremely thick and curly hair and most hairdressers don't know how to cut/treat curly hair properly. If you have curly hair, an afro, etc, GO SEE LALA (Insta @lalaartist). You won't be disappointed. The salon had a very friendly atmosphere and they were careful to take precautions with the virus going round. I was able to wait out back in a little courtyard area and use the WiFi to get some work done while waiting. Total cost with taxes was just under $90, which was for a complete wash, massage, cut, and style.

Talented friendly stylists, reliable quality results. These stylists will listen to you when you say what you want instead of rushing into a cut without hearing your specifications. My recent stylist gave me exactly the cut I wanted (asymmetrical short undercut styled for volume) and checked to make sure I was satisfied with it. I went to Kokopelli today for the first time. Let's just say I was dealing with a minor hair emergency.... one that might have been impossible to fix. Not only is EVERYONE there super chill and positive vibes all around, friendly etc - but my hair emergency was truly a sketchy situation. Today Mish and Jade SAVED MY HAIR, no joke. Zero exaggeration it was dire. I am beyond grateful and am already plotting on fun ideas now that my hair is back to normal so that I can go back to them soon! Highly recommend. ~Rocky xo

Worse experience I've ever had. I posted on social media and now know too late not to go there. They will never reimburse you. My hair is ruined. All blotched and damaged. She put in dark brown to cover her horrible job. Exactly what isaid I previously had and didn't want.I just paid $500 before this visit else where and this visit my hair should of been perfect. My back was soaking wet from hair dresser not paying attention because her partner was there distracting her with a ferret. She checked 1 foil the whole time.Had an answer for everything isaid as well. Poor business management. 0 stars all the way. I'll post pictures as well. 5 hours later and wasted my time and money plus my hair is worse then when I went in. Pink lime is the best experience I've ever had. Obviously don't care about your hair or time. We are walking business cards for hair salons so why wouldn't you do a perfect job?? I tell 10 people and they tell 10 people. Common sense!!! Don't waste your time and money. My roots were orange where there was no previous dye at all. Orange polka dot hair not what I asked for. Go back to hair school and business management. Liars never prosper. your greed is sad. Take my money and be proud of your ethics. The pictures said it all but you still had an answer.

Jade gave me the loveliest, beautifully subtle red highlights in my hair quite some time ago. When one catches my eye, because the colour really lasted, it makes me smile and reminds me I want to go back to Jade for another colour job. She's the best!

Price is a master at giving me amazing highlights with dimension (I have a LOT of hair). She has also been able to give my long hair shape and style which I had not been able to achieve before. First time here today and had an appointment with Mish. She absolutely killed my hair cut. I came in with hair past my hips and left with a nice medium bob cut. Mish was super friendly, talkative and efficient. Usually when i get my hair cut they wash it first and cut it while it's wet, but i opted out of doing that today so Mish did a dry cut and it was PRECISE. Will be seeing her again in the near future!

I’ve gone to this place 3 times before, all the stylists were super nice and friendly although last week me and my mother went in to book an appointment for sometime that week, we stood there for 5 minutes and nobody came to help us out instead we only got unpleasant stares which made us feel somewhat dissatisfied. Hopefully the staff will try to actually help customers next time.

I liked this place and their service. Felt that they are a little bit behind their schedules but their service is fast and efficient. They can do much better if they consider exact schedule. 5 minutes here and there is okay but not more than 15 minutes delay for the appointments. This could mess up the customer's schedule if they are working. I thought of having hair cut and flat ironing. But because of delay in the appointment, I was running late to my work. I asked them to only flat iron my hair. Hope you can understand the importance and consider scheduling as per the needs. Do not rush yourself or rush customer out. Nothing negative ???? just they did it as per my request. Thanks for the service

I came to Kokopelli with a hair disaster, product of a DIY YouTube tutorial. Arrived about an hour before close, the place looked busy but a stylist came to greet me right away. They got a stylist from the back, Trevor, to come and help me. Later I realized his station had already been cleaned and cleared for the day, but he never made me feel like it was a burden or a problem having received me. Trevor did a wonderful work. The haircut is amazing, and achieving it after I had made a mess of my hair, is mind-blowing. Top service and great atmosphere at this salon! I’m surely becoming a regular.

Jade delivered yet another amazing cut for my 2C curls/waves and I really appreciated that she made extra effort to make the space more comfortable for me. I have sensory sensitivities and found it SUCH a relief that the light is warm and they had no problem turning the music down for my cut. I got my hair cut with Lala in August. It was far from a positive experience. Notably, I was charged twice what I was told it would cost ahead of time ( $500) and the appointment took twice as long as planned (6.5 hrs.) The haircut and general experience was lack lustre. I asked for hair no shorter than my chin, cut to be styled with a centre part, with warm blonde highlights. I got a cut to my jaw, a dramatic side part and ash grey hair. After spending an unexpected 7 hours in the chair I was too shocked to complain when the bill came. I was on the brink of tears because I hated my cut and was hungry and tired. They had not offered me anything to eat or drink during that time. Lala would work on my hair and disappear for huge chunks of time to eat or hang out in the back (she had no other clients). I figured I would let it grow out in hopes I liked the cut more as it grew. Instead, I feel the cut has gotten uglier and less flattering with fewer curls than I have every had from a cut. This was such a disappointment especially for the high price.

But Mish listened to what I wanted, gave me helpful advice on texture and colour, gave me a discount because I didn't want much cut, and was all around lovely! Love my hair! I love this place. Especially the lovely people who work here. I was never super loyal to any hairdresser. I always chased the big savings or convenience of who could see me right away. Not so. They broke me. After booking with Ali for three years, I’m broken. She fixed me from years of damage. She always had interesting world views to discuss. I brought my puppy to meet her. We have been through break ups, big moves, reinventing ourselves....everything. The hairdressers here invest in you. I must say, I’ve moved out of the city. Far away. I’ll still find a way to come home.

I know the cut starts at 40, but just as a reference I paid 60 dollars for my cut. It's my first time with a curly hair professional and I have nothing but complements to Larissa. She was very patient, answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable. I had to schedule to go on a Saturday and the hairstylist was on time, but it's very busy, I might try go during the week a next time, the salon is quite close to the skytrain, so this makes things easier. The other employees are also very nice, they offered me water, coffee and tea if I wanted it and the environment is relaxed. There is a friendly dog walking around saying "Hi" to everyone. Ask for the wi-fi password once you get there and the receptionist will help you.The wi-fi worked nicely and I could watch Netflix wile I was waiting my hair to be done.

I have been getting my hair coloured and cut by Niio for a few months now and I'm super happy! It looks healthier than it has in years, and the blonde is always even (no spots missed or different shades, which my hair is prone to due to years of drugstore colouring). Niio is awesome. I also bought a brush that has been a game changer, I can brush my hair right after the shower with no breakage.

Kokopelli and Jade not only ensure you leave happy, but guarantee their work. Jade delivered yet another amazing cut and colour to my 2C/3A curls/waves. After a chemical error(my hair just absorbed the colour in a weird way), Jade spent hours fixing my colour to ensure that I left happy. Every other salon I have ever been at tried would try to convince me that it was fine, but I really appreciated that Jade took the extra effort and hours to fix it. Jade also makes sure to use gluten free and scent free products with me everytime. I have scent sensitivities and am celiac. I find it so comforting to know I will be safe and to not be overwhelmed with perfume and intense scents when I walk in there. Thank you Jade Chow and Kokopelli Salon for being such a wonderful salon experience ???? I will be coming back again and again!

I had a great experience with Ali H going from longer hair to a pixie undercut (faded with a razor from the neck with a bit more hair on top). She was very careful to ask me about what products I was comfortable with her using on me (and made sure I didn't have any allergies). I was pleased to find out they use vegan and sulfate/paraben free products! Excellent head massage during the wash as well. Will definitely return. I previously had a haircut with Allie B and she was also wonderful (I just wanted my hair done TODAY so ended up scheduling with the other Ali).

I picked this place thinking I would get a great cut. New 50 dollar hair style, start fresh, I thought life was going to be great. They did a real hack job. My needs were not met by the hair stylist. I was shocked at the end when they inquired tips. Super offended. Dont go here. I did not get full value. Its jus too bad this kind of service is withstood.

Price is legit amazing. She has done my hair twice (cut as well as a big colour job) and I've been so happy with it both times. I know I can be particular and I was very nervous to go to a new salon but the experience was all around amazing and I felt very comfortable there. I had a big bleach job done and Price was nothing but careful and considerate to the integrity and health of my hair. The salon also has a welcoming, non judgemental vibe in general which I really appreciated. Excited to come back for my next appointment. Side note: IF I were to take points off of my review for this salon, it would only be because I wish this salon was a Green Circle salon. I was quite disappointed to find out that they are not.

The best haircut I've ever had. I chose to get my cut from Emma as her focus is transformation styles, I thought it would be the best bet for what I wanted which was to have my long hair chopped off into a much shorter style. I had asked for Milo Thatch meets Haruka Tenou with a dash of Jillian Anderson in SE... It's a lot to ask for I know but I had a vision and Emma absolutely bought into it. I have never had a stylist actually listen to what I want and incorporate it to my facial structure.. From the beginning her energy soothed any ridual insecurities I had about this big change, truely a pleasure to have my hair done by her. What impressed me the most was that she was junior stylists, with the cut she did it seemed like she'd been doing this for long time. The only thing that gave it away was that it took some time but I ain't mad about it as I'd rather have a stylists that takes their time to really care for my hair.. you know what they say the queer revolution wasn't built in a day. Ps. Emma if you read this, just know you're the best!

I received a good hair cut but there were a few things that were off with the service. The shampoo was too soft. It was like the stylist was scared to hurt me or something. I usually like my shampoos with a scalp massage. It was definitely not a scalp massage. It was too light to be one. Also, the stylist working on her client beside my stylist and I was so loud and annoying. The stylist seemed very young and really loud and immature. I didn't appreciate her energy much. She didn't pay attention to the fact that my stylist and I were completely silent. She could have adjusted her talking volume to account for this but it didn't seem like she was aware. Her client was talking very softly but the stylist was super clueless. I enjoyed my stylist a lot. She respected my need for silence. The music was okay. It could have been better. Other people might have thought the music was really good because it was modern but my ear for music is really developed.
