Jimmy is a wonderful stylist. His attention to detail and expertise with cut and colour impresses me every time I go. He has helped me through some terrible hair choices and made me feel so good with his naturalistic but impactful suggestions that really make a difference to your look. He always listens attentively and gives excellent hair advice. Also, he always finds a way to fit me in when I need my bangs trimmed. The salon is well kept and quite, located in the Tapestry building, which I really like for a relaxing experience. The staff are friendly and will often offer you tea. The quality of the products used are also very good. Jimmy cares about the long term health of your hair and looking your best on a daily basis, even taking into account your lifestyle. For example, I am very busy and need a "no-nonsense" cut. He delivers, I highly recommend him and the salon.

I am a UBC student and I had a haircut from Hailey last week. When I arrived early she was with another client and she made sure to recognize me and say 'hello' while other staff offered beverages while I waited. Hailey did a great job in cutting my hair and made sure that no hairs were out of place. I have received many complements and I have been sure to tell them where I got it done. Also, she made great conversation which I really appreciate because it makes getting your haircut more fun and helps time pass. I would definitely recommend this location. So I have to admit, I've never gotten a haircut at a hair salon before so as a student away from home, I tried to find a decent place to get it done. After reading multiple positive reviews for eliane's, I booked an appointment. They were extremely accommodating, despite me being late! Hailey was my stylist, she was so very kind and placed a lot of attention to how I wanted my hair to look in the end. I would most definitely book another appointment in the future :)

I had the most wonderful experience here today. As somebody who hates haircuts in general, I always dislike trying a new salon, for fear that I won't like the results. Well, today I couldn't be happier. First of all, my appointment was booked for 10am, but I arrived super early (8:45am) due to coming straight from the gym. The staff were incredibly friendly and had no issue accommodating me while I sat working on a paper before my appointment. Then, I had my hair cut by Jimmy. He is so friendly, and that man can really make magic with a pair of scissors. The price was fair, great location, and wonderful staff. Thanks Jimmy! I will certainly be coming back.

This has been my very first time to visit the hair shop to do my hair since I moved to Vancouver. I had had no idea what kind of the hair style I wanted to do. Of course, I needed to get an advice from a hair expert. Jimmy is the excellent one. He gave me a great style counselling. The whole process made me feel easily decided to get a stylish haircut and cover my grey hair with the wonderful hair colour. The result was so satisfying and perfectly perfect. I recently got my second balayage from Gina and I love it! She is very kind and professional. I have never gotten so many complements on my hair before. I showed Gina a picture of what I wanted and she somehow manages to make my hair more prettier than the picture. I live in Coquitlam, which is pretty far from UBC but it’s always worth the long drive. I would highly recommend asking for Gina when making an appointment. Gina will never disappoint you!

For years I only trusted one other hairstylist in Vancouver. That being said, I started to go to Jimmy at Elaine about 2 years ago and he is now the only other person I will trust with my haircuts. He is fantastic, talented, and loves what he does. Firstly, he asks you what YOU want and will only then give his opinion off what you’d like. Secondly he never overdoes it. I have never been disappointed with any of my cuts with Jimmy and the team at Elaine UBC. Thirdly, he really has an eye for what suits you based on your face shape, hair texture, hair style, and what you’ve requested. Couldn’t say anything bad about them.

I had my hair done by Hailey L and would like to give her 5+/5 stars. I got a trim and a subtle change to my hair style from her. I showed her some pictures, she told me the hairdresser terminology to describe them, and then gave me exactly the cut I asked for! She kept most of the length on my long-ish hair, which was great. She made sure I was satisfied with the cut at the end. She also took the time to give me beautiful flat-iron curls! The curls made my hair look so pretty, thick and shiny. They are the prettiest curls I have ever had! I would definitely have my hair cut and styled by Hailey again. In general, the salon is beautiful, bright, and clean with proper cleanliness/social distancing procedures in place for COVID-19.

I'm happy!! Hailey did a marvellous job with my long overdue haircut after many months of COVID-19 distancing. After showing her in photos what I wanted, she made sure it was just right: front-back-top-and-sides. Get COVID screened at Tapestry's front desk, then find Éliane's in the southeast corner of the lobby floor. This spacious facility is clean, bright, calm and airy with very high ceilings. No worries about crowding or ventilation. Hailey is friendly, polite and very talented. Easy online booking. Highly recommended. I'll be back Thank-you!!

Jimmy is a hair GOD! I have tried many different salons showing the same picture of what I wanted and never got it right until now!! I have been highlighting my hair blonde for years now and have never been as pleased as I was when Jimmy did my hair. I have never got as many compliments on my hair either! One of the worst hair cuts I ever had!! The whole experience was awful. The stylist was bragging about his experience! I didn't see any of that! For the facial massage, he used a towel that smelled like food.. I guess they use the same heater to cook/heat up food. Definitely not going back again!

The hair cut itself is decent but the price is kinda high- $65 for a woman’s cut. They do not wear medical face mask. They wear common fashion masks which does not block the virus. Also, there are no closet to store my bag and coat- I had to put them on the ground or hold them during the hair cut. I think there are space for improvement since they have a high price. I will change the view once they improved.

For reference, I'm a guy with unfrizzy asian hair that like's to grow out his hair. I had my hair done by Jimmy and Hailey on separate occasions, and have always received an amazing cut and style! Before, I never bothered to style my hair, but after getting my hair done here, I was so impressed by how well they got my hair looking like my reference photo(park bo gum with long hair - which both Jimmy and Hailey both immediately recognized and enlightened me about) that I couldn't go back to my old hair anymore! The place itself is clean and was happy to see the staff take covid precautions(wearing masks and providing hand sanitizer).
