I would like to say that I had a great experience at this salon. I called to see Alex who gave me an appointment right away on calling just last minute. Alex is a very friendly and pleasant guy. He gave a nice shampoo while massaging my head. Then he perfectly understood the kind of hairstyle I wanted and did it exactly the way I asked for it. I totally recommend this place and to get a haircut from Alex. The whole experience was great. Thank you Alex !

Just got my first ever cut at Maximus. Always a little skeptical because I have pretty curly/wavy, mind-of-its-own hair and I'm never really sure what to do with it. Sora gave me a great, short cut with a really nice fade on the back and sides. She was super friendly and easy to talk to as well. Really impressed! Plus it felt like they were playing straight off my soundcloud for their music. Love that deep house.

As a walking client, I dropped in to Maximus Hair Studio on Davie St and asked for a hair cut. I had already a good experience at Maximus in Coal Harbour and I wanted always to try this location too. A Korean girl washed and massaged my hair and passed me to a Korean guy and trimmed my hair. We had a good conversation and it was actually a very good cut. I would recommend my friends to Maximus Hair Studio.

The Cons: * I had chemical burns to the scalp from hair bleach and dye. * I did not leave the salon with the hair style I wanted. * The manager tried to resolve the issue but ended up making it worse. He was not gentle with my hair and kept yanking it. At the end I told him to stop touch my hair as he was doing more damage than good. * I had to purchase medicine for my scalp and go through the treatment for at least a week. It looked like I had greasy hair but it was necessary as the pain was difficult to manage. * I lost more hair than usual and it was so damaged that I had to cut it off. * The salon was not clean, even before I sat down the area around the chair was full of hair from the previous client. * It was a beautiful sunny day so they kept the door open, it was nice at first but after sitting in the chair for 5 hours you tend to get cold when it's 4°C outside. The Pros: * Chloe was friendly and her violet hair looked cool. * No payment was requested.

I went in today for the first time after seeing a friend get her hair done beautifully by Heather. My hair was a choppy mess and needed to be fixed. I walked in and Heather was busy but after reading good reviews for Chloe, I asked if she had time for me and she did. I feel so much better now and happy to have been introduced to this salon. Jin is great and so as all the stylists at Maximus , he welcomes everyone with a warm smile and Ahmet is one of their unique stylists who hold a lot responsibility in styling the hair as per the client requirements and beyond it. He seems so passionate about his career and that clearly shows up on your hair do. You will fall in love with urself after his magic on your hair let it be a hair cut or a hair colour he is the best in whatever he does. Highly recommend place for a new beginning in style.

I've been twice, first time with Kim and then Jin. Both times I got a super awesome haircut. Got a lovely little head massage too and I find that it's an affordable and reasonable rate. Sometimes when it comes to hair, a person needs to build up trust with the stylists before one feels comfortable letting any stylist touching one's hair, especially my hair. My hair is very thin and fine, and if the stylist is not good or not experience, my hair could screwed up big time easily. I was referred from a friend to see Max at Maximus Hair Studio, and I have to say this is by far a salon which gave me the greatest hair cut experience. Max is very professional, I told him that my hair is very thin, it looks flat without any volume. He layered my hair nicely, and after the hair cut, my look changed. I look like I have more hair with more volume. I love it!!!! Maximus Hair is a great salon with great people. I would definitely go back to try doing my high lights and hair perm. After I get my perm done, I'll give another review and may be post up a pict of my final look. Lol. I would recommend all my friends to go see Max!!! Price is reasonable.

Ahmed was the most talented and intuitive hair stylist I have ever been to. Usually I walk away from my hair appointments feeling disappointed and frustrated but for once I walked away feeling so grateful, satisfied and relieved. Ahmed paid so much attention to detail, is clearly very experienced and skilled and pays attention to your desires and requests. Best hair stylist I have ever experienced!! I have to put only one star as I used to go there to Edgar and he just left and the salon staff and owner will not say what new salon he has gone to so they don't lose the business. I had my hair cut by two other people there and it was awful I tried one more time with Edgar and he was amazing. He was the only reason I ever returned. I hope I can find out where he went so my hair can be happy again!

After reading all the good reviews I thought I'd get my first haircut in Vancouver from Maximus. I made a last minute appointment which they were happy to cater for, and were sure to take my name and introduce themselves over the phone. When I arrived they offered tea/coffee/water which was a nice touch. Not sure if it's maybe my funny shaped head or they were an extreme perfectionist but the stylist took a long time making sure my #4 back and sides were even. Ended up taking around 30 minutes with cut, shampoo and styling. The result though was the best haircut I've ever had. With a receding hairline I look for a bit more attention to detail from my hairdresser and they really delivered. My wife is still commenting on how good it looks. Will definitely be back.

I have been a client of Maximus on Davie St. for about 4 years I think and I absolutely love going there and working with Ahmet. He is the most passionate stylist that I have ever worked with. As soon as I walk In he knows my name and I never know what I want done I just always go in looking for a change. It took me a long time to build up trust to allow someone to be free with my hair without me watching and knowing their every move. Two weeks ago, I told Ahmet that I would like to go a little brighter for the summer but hate spending the money and time on highlights. Ahmet suggest doing “balayage” or as he calls it California Balayage! I wasn’t convince as my sister has had this a year ago and I though it looked awful. I was nervous that it would not be blended well but Ahmet convinced me that it would look great. I decided to take a chance….  I am thrilled that I did, I love my hair even two weeks later, straight or curly its fabulous. Its bright but as my own color is at the roots the maintenance will be minimal. Thank you Ahmet for my awesome hair style – I love it! 

I have been going to Maximus salon for 6 years now, since I moved to Vancouver. I love their customer service, they are always making me feel very comfortable. I see the hair dresser Jin and he is always giving me good tips on how to take care of my hair, and even when I have some crazy idea, if he thinks it will cause any sort of damage to my hair, he advises me not to go ahead with it or he finds a way that won't cause damage. I definitely recommend the salon!

I've tried a bunch of places, trying to find something closer to where I live but Maximus hair salon at coal harbour is worth the 30 minute commute.

The best colour and cut I've ever had. Ahmet gave me a great haircut the first time I visited Maximus, and he told me that I should absolutely return for colouring. I decided to take a chance since I felt he had shown a lot of care and skill trimming my hair initially. Woah! I was near speechless when I saw the beautiful results while still in the salon, but the next morning I woke up with an even richer collection of warm, buttery tones that made every strand look full of body. My hair looks super healthy and shiny now, and the style is so flattering. My blowout outlasted several sleeps and my bike helmet!

I've been going to Maximus Hair Salon for at least 14 years and have nothing but great things to say about it. I have never been disappointed in any of their services. I've had my hair very long to very short, and even had highlights and colouring done over the years and every time I've been very pleased with the results. Currently I see Edgar, who does the perfect short hair style for my hair. I have very stubborn hair and short styles always are a challenge with me and he manages to do a perfect job each time.

Jin is an amazing hair stylist! Jin has worked on my hair for two years if not more, I have short blond fine hair and the color is exactly what I have been looking for, for years. I show different photo's of hairs styles that I like and he will explain if it would be a great cut for my fine hair and facial features. Jin also shows me how to maintain my style as it grows out.

One of the best barbershops I've been to in the city. Lynda and Max are great stylists that go above and beyond for their clients. During a routine visit I'm offered a coffee/tea, given a relaxing hair rinse/scalp massage followed by a hot eucalyptus towel, and then a great haircut, all for a very reasonable price. On top of this, I've come in several times without a reservation and am always looked after right away. Highly recommend this place!

I got a color I wasn't too happy with but the manager was so excellent about it. You can tell he was genuinely upset that I was upset with my hair and happily refunded me and hoped I would come back. I think even with my bad experience with one of the stylists I would come back for maybe not colour but trims from the owner only. You can tell they have good relationships with there clients.
