Everyone working at Craft Academy Salon Surrey is so kind, professional and very easy to talk to. I've been getting my hair done by Kat, she is awesome, and always does such a lovely job, and there is always good conversation. The salon is very clean, bright, and just a nice enviroment to be in.

My experience with Lisa was absolutely amazing. Lisa goes above and beyond. Took her time and great conversations. Lisa is definitely worth seeing. Unfortunately she moved on to another salon. I can understand why, as the other ladies there since then have treated me poorly. Craft Academy Salon just isn't the same without Lisa. The ignorance from Kat was uncalled for.

I have been seeing Vicky since she started at Craft Academy, let me tell you they have the friendliest staff. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. Everything is very nice and clean and sanitized. She kills it every time I go in. I never have a complaint. I get SO MANY compliments on my nails. She is so good at helping me pick out colours. Her nail art is Amazing!! I just got my nails done again and I can't wait to go back next time :)

I get my hair done by Heather. She is fabulous. The salon is very clean, they are following all covid measure. When I come in Heather always sits down and talks to me about my last cut, things I liked, what I'd like to do. She always has great ideas, and listens to what I want as well. I love this place. I’ve seen Rempel before who is just lovely! Sadly, the East Van location is too far from me. The lighting and environment in the Surrey location is so welcoming. The rest of the staff are always smiling, laughing and so friendly. I just have to say that I _love_ Breanne. I have gone blonde many times over the years and it never works out. I’m always quick to go back to brunette. When you can trust your stylist to do “whatever she thinks will look good” and you love it every time that is a good stylist! B, you are the best!! My hair is also so healthy and beautiful after and I am always excited to come back. Thank you!!

Vicky has been my go to nail lady for the past 3 years, no one does my nails as perfect as she does and since finding her no one else will ever touch my nails again. [Edit] You know what, looking at the side by side of the expectation versus reality (added one more image of my hair as I wrote this review, compared to the inspo) and I'm lowering my rating to the bottom of the barrel. They really, really did me dirty. I've been sitting on this for a while deciding if I should speak up or just let it go but I find I'm just getting more bitter as time goes on. The good: Personable staff, great salon itself, high quality work that prevented damage. The stylist asked for another stylist's help to ensure my previously Japanese straightened tips wouldn't fall off. The bad: The stylist outright disregarded what I wanted and I feel like I wasted nearly $400 with tip. I asked for a dramatic change. I stressed I wanted to go heavily blonde. I left with a couple blonde streaks. My after looks nothing like the inspiration photos I sent her even within the wide range, saying I liked the dimension of the most subtle one but that I wanted it really noticeably blonde like the others. I wasn't expecting to be the same shades because I know going blonde can be a process from dark hair, but what I'm angry about is what she said as I was leaving: "I decided to go subtle because it's your first time getting highlights." ..Excuse you? I didn't want subtle. I told you I wanted something dramatic. You have pictures of a dramatic change. You put embarrassing single giant streaks in the front of my hair so you were capable of doing those bigger patches of blonde but you flat out didn't want to. I shut down when I saw my hair in the full light of her ringlight. She could tell and I stupidly went overboard to reassure her because.. I don't know why, honestly. I thanked her profusely, tipped 20%, and left as soon as I could because I just felt so gutted I knew I'd begin crying very soon at the waste of money. She was so nice I didn't want to hurt her feelings by criticising but now in reflection I'm just mad. I don't spend money like this on myself. I really needed this pick me up and I left just feeling sad that I wasted so much money for an aesthetic that I dislike enough to miss my old hair but feel like dying my hair back would be a further waste. So. I don't trust hair stylists and I will continue to not trust them even if my home haircuts are terrible heh. I feel bad rating them this low overall when the quality of their work was great and they were so personable but the reality is she actively chose to not pursue the images I showed her and that's not okay.

Greeted immediately upon entering, very friendly, I had no appointment but took me as a walk in right away. Got my hair cut from Samara, she was very friendly and took the time even to look at the pictures I had that I wanted for my cut… I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with my cut. The place was very clean and felt safe with COVID measures. I will definitely return if I’m in that part of town again.

This is a review for the Surrey location. I have been here several times for hair cuts and has never been an issue. I am not sure if its a COVID issue due to slower business but I had the worst and most unprofessional customer service experience of my life with my last color appointment. I was quoted $95 for roots, assuming that was an accurate price for my hair as I have just been there for a cut a month ago. Upon arriving, AFTER the dye is in my hair, I was then given a breakdown for $167 before taxes and tips which would easily be double of the initial quote. I was given the impression that the blowout was included from Kristall and then subsequently was charged the price of a full color $125 for just roots. I proceeded to let the hairdresser know that I don't need the blowout and she came back to me and says basic SHAMPOO RINSE was $20. I have NEVER been charged in any salon to remove the dye from my head. 2 girls then proceeded to dry my hair and rushed me off the seat WITHOUT even COMBING my hair. I still tipped 20% and called in days later to get clarification. Richelle was super nice initially and tried to be accommodating. She called me back a day later to tell me the charge was for 2 people drying my hair! This is where I get extremely upset because I was getting 2 different reasons for why there was an extra $20 charge. It isn't the money but the principle of how they are charging for services they imply is included. It seemed like they are doing everything they can do JUST to hike your invoice up. I would never return and disappointed in the customer service. I would clarify your costs before starting your services.
