Asked for a very simple haircut, the man barely understood what I wanted making me uncomfortable from the beginning, and when he finished I could not believe how bad my haircut was. He tried to finish as fast as possibly and put as little effort possible. The haircut was also extremely overpriced. Do not recommend avoid if possible.

I went into Chatters and Julie was my stylist. She was amazing, astonishing service... My hair is fine, curly and difficult to style. Julie gave me the greatest little hairstyle, along with an incredible leave in treatment that has repaired my hair. The head massage was a bonus. I wanted to fall asleep!!! Got my hair dyed and cut. Asked for an inch off they took 6 inches off. Hair was thinned without consent because "its taking too long to dry". I was changed an extra fee for more dye to cover my bangs, and was not told they would be charging more. I was expecting $153 and paid $233 for a haircut that made me leave in tears. My layers are uneven as my hair was straighted before it was cut. Im extremely disappointed in the damage done.

I had an excellent experience, my stylist listened to what I wanted and that's what I got. Amazing. I had been previously undergoing chemo and had just grown back enough hair so she could "shape" it for me and bleach and tone it to something that looked like my hair before chemo. I had previously been a mid toned blond but after the chemo it came back an awful muddy brown. She fixed me up and I had some fierce hair going on till chemo called me again. I shall return hopefully by next summer for some new hair again. Once I find the name of my stylist, I will give her a shout out. ????

The staff are kinda prissy and hard to talk to, and, personally I felt unwelcomed. It wasn't horible, but it wasn't amazing-and for $150 I would expect nothing but amazing!! The lady who cut and coloured my hair didn't do what I wamted. My hair looks nice..I guess..but it's not what I wanted. Over all I would not come back here. The only reason I went at all was because I had a coupon.

This was a couple years ago. I went to Chatters after suffering a terribly uneven cut at MagicCuts in the old Zellers. Having to pay 3x as much in a nice place, I expected they could fix the problem...not make it WORSE! What was very uneven, turned into scraggly mange with layers in all the wrong places and far far too thinned out. I have just now grown out the remnants of those two disastrous haircuts. Though its close by and looks like a nice establishment, I'm too scared to go back and risk another mess-up!

Don't much like writing terrible reviews. I loved my haircut. But as I was sitting on the chair talking to the hairdresser another hairdresser was giving me the eyeball for some reason. Or another. Well it made me feel uncomfortable so I said hi. How are you. Is everything alright. Well I thought that might make her stop staring or glaring nope so I stared back. I just want a hair cut. Don't want to gawked at. Well I went to pay and it cost 54$ it was suppose to include a shampoo Last time I swear it cost under $40 with a tip. I couldn't afford to tip So let's just say the shampooing and conditioner you saved from the price is your top. Never going back. Man I can't stand hair dressers.

Had a haircut, no shampoo no blow dry, she just straightened my hair to cut it, I was there for 30 min and got to the till and $52 for the cut. Are you Kidding me?????? He said “oh it’s a cut and it’s $10 for a straighten. I still can’t believe how much this was for not even a full service!!

*Do not come here if you’re looking to get pampered* I guess I chose the wrong Sarah all the other reviews were raving about. The most polite thing my stylist had done in the 3 hours I was at the salon, was take my jacket for me. I came in to have the blonde balayage covered up, in an all over chocolate brown colour. There was a cut & colour deal, so I decided to take advantage of this promotion ( even though I didn’t need a cut, I happily took a trim) My hair is medium length ( sits just at my collar bone) & I was right away charged the ‘long length’ price. I showed the hairdresser pictures of what I was trying to achieve & she came back with the colour samples for me to look at. We decided to go with a mixture of 2. While the colour was in, throughout the whole process, my hairdresser hardly said a word to me. Normally when you go to a salon, you get a mini therapy session out of it, someone to vent & gossip to, I got none of that. After a recent break-up, that’s all I wanted to do- vent. I was never once offered a glass of water , other stylists had offered to grab Starbucks for their clients. It was around dinner time & I was starving by this point. The colour was washed out & to my disappointment, the top half of my head was ginger. My natural hair colour hadn’t taken the brown like the blonde tips had, resulting in a orange- light brown colour, with the tips a dark brown. Not the look I was going for at all. When I expressed my concern, I was told it was “just the lighting”. I went into the bathroom to check the situation there…& yup, still orange. I politely asked if she could fix it ( cause from past experiences, it’s better to have it fixed right there & then, rather than wait a week or 2) We start the whole colour process again, I asked how long approx. would this take & was told “15 minutes to leave the dye in “. I waited 40 minutes & in that time, my stylist had cut & dyed another clients hair. End results: Really dark brown hair This stylist however did give a killer head massage & I was happy with the trim. Takeaway: don’t come to this salon if you want great customer service & accurate results.

Let me put y’all on someone at this salon! Juno was amazing!! I showed him what I wanted but also expressed that my scalp was incredibly sensitive and this man was so gentle when washing/brushing/styling my hair! He paid so much attention to detail. I booked a appointment early in the morning online to go that afternoon. When I showed up, they said I had to wait 15 minutes to go in rather than my scheduled time, but their availability still made me happy. A month prior, I had bad layers put in my hair (yikes) and I tried cutting myself to even it out yesterday (double yikes). I had Charlotte as my hair dresser and she took special care to my needs and made sure I was happy with my cut. I expressed my concerns to keep it as long as possible; to which she was able to fix the bad layers and my choppy self cut, all the while keeping it not even a sliver shorter. The service was phenomenal and I came out with much more confidence in my hair. Thank you guys!

Sara did an amazing job on my hair. She was so patient and gentle. Why they didnt get 5 stars is because i wasnt aware i would have to purchase the fun colours I wanted on top of paying full price for a colour and $20 each time for anything extra like toner and each oz over the minimum amount. It meant when all was said and done it would have been almoat 300 dollara if i hadnt gotten a complementry hair cut as it was my first visit. ( edited) sara was patient and gentle but i had two people working on my hair at one point and it was aweful they were pulling and not nice to my scalp. They didnt time the bleach and toner so my hair has since been fried and they ruined my shirt by getting bleach all over it. Im not sure they really know what they are doing. I asked for a hair cut not much just to clean up.my ends and take.off a few inches and add layers. They didnt add layers and didnt cut off my dead and split ends. It was rather infuriating having to go some where else to get my hair cut again two days later.

taking back my stars as i had the worst experience ever. i wanted to regrow my blonde roots as i have been dying it brown (professionally) since i was 14. i asked the stylist to blend my roots and lighten my ends up to something more natural. stylist told me it was achievable and i booked for the following week. cue to my appointment, they weren’t telling me anything they were doing to my hair, kept asking if i box dyed my hair red, and proceeded to make my hair orange. no apology or anything and proceeded to tell the receptionist they “felt bad”. only after care they told me to use was blue shampoo to get the orange out, so basically doing their work for them. i understand that some stylist can’t achieve what a client asks for but proceeding to lie and say they can and then ruining my hair is absolutely unprofessional. i grossly overpaid for this nightmare hair job hair when i asked to be matched with my natural colour. will never go back again.

From the first visit up to and including today, my haircut has always been fast and exactly what I asked for. One chatters said they have 15 days of refund policy. This one only offered exchange or store credit. Update - After checking online found out yes they only offer store credit or exchange. So other store gave wrong information. But I was very clear with what I wanted to achieve and asked for advise from an employee with in this store. She recommended a product which was far from what I needed. So it was a waste of time and a hassle for me. Now I have a different product from this store, will use it and update my review accordingly. Sorry for the confusion about your refund policy.

I got my hair cut by a different stylist than usual and while she was very polite and pleasant she could not even follow basic instructions, my hair is MUCH shorter than I requested and I was very clear both in word and through showing a picture of my desired length. I came into this salon hoping for a dark brown to vibrant gold hair color (All of my hair was naturally dark brown). The stylist had told me that the color would not look good on me and assured me the proper color to use. At first I was having doubts and was kind of mad that she made my choice for me but I then thought that was the expertise and had better advice. The process was long, and it was understandable because I had long, thick hair. I didn’t get the stylists name but she was always complaining that I have too much hair. I booked the appointment to come to this salon a day before and the worker had told me it would be around $150. Then when I got there, she had told me it was $200. I was very confused. Back to my stylist review, my stylist had told me to cut my hair and I was a little angry because it was my hair and I liked it long. She was also very aggressive on brushing my hair and washing it which it had hurt my scalp. In the end, my hair had turned from dark brown (my natural hair color) to a fawn ombré. I was happy with this look and I had to thank her for this suggestion. You guys did a professional job on advising your customers on what would look best on them from your experience. I just wish the prices were more affordable since my hair wasn’t as vibrantly dyed and the color kind of blended with my natural color. And I also wish they would go a little light on washing my hair and scalp. 4 stars, for sure will come back.

My experience was okay. Everyone was nice enough and the price was appropriate BUT crucially, the stylist did not re-create what I showed her in multiple pictures. She seemed really uninterested in looking at the pictures I brought and at one point said she didn't need to see any more. I wanted a long bob with long layers and got a cut with many, many layers including a ton of very short pieces that will require me to wear my hair up for a while as it grows in. :(

I had the pleasure of getting my hair cut in layers here for the first time last week. I am normally very cautious about where I get my hair done because I have had so many bad cuts in the past. While the price feels a tad high (around 50 dollars for a cut) Sonia (I believe her name was) did an AMAZING job on my hair. I left with the most beautiful layers and beautiful curls. Even after washing out the curls, the cut itself is one of the best I have gotten in a long time. I will definitely be back. Thanks guys. :)

Worst hair cut I have ever had. I asked for a trim of my long layers and to please not touch the front as I was growing it out. The woman proceeded to give me a terrible 3 tier choppy hair cut and took 3 inches off the front. She then asked if I wanted a blow out and curled it so I didn't noticed how horrible it was until I got home. She also didn't tell me that she didn't speak or understand English well until we were done, so how could she have possibly understood my instructions. I would never, ever go back here.

Sorry, but I'm still dwelling on how unimpressed I was with my hairdresser about a week ago. There were so many things that she failed to do properly, including straightening my hair nicely etc etc - I fixed it myself when I got home, and as a result of her errors she ended up staining my shirt with bleach or hair dye... I did appreciate the professional help I received from the manager today though where he helped to fix the situation with my ruined shirt. The staff there are nice, I'm guessing I didn't receive the most experienced hair dresser the day I went. Anyway I'll give 3 stars, because of my experience today :)

Salon area was not cleaned up in the slightest. Hair all over the floor from the previous client. Hairdresser did not measure or properly test length balance. It was all eyeballed. The chair was broken. I was asked to slouch so the hairdresser could reach my hair. One should not slouch, and should be standing up straight. The entire haircut is completely uneven and nowhere near worth the 25 dollars charged. And to top it off someone came in and told the hairdresser to hurry up my haircut because her next two clients were impatiently waiting. Screw doing a job correct, get more people in for faster money.

It's uneven slightly between sides and when I pull my hair to the front, my hair in the front is soooo much longer than what it is in the back. Not impressed at all. Payed $50 for a hair cut, I asked the lady to clean up the ends and trim about 1/2 an inch off. She cut my hair extremely crooked. I asked for a straight across cut, not layers. Half of the back is straight then from their it goes diagonal leaving the other side of the back 3 or 4 inches higher than the other side. Very dissapointed considering how expensive it was. When the lady showed me my hair at the end she shook the mirror very quickly so I didn't notice what had happened until I got home. Will not be returning.

Myself and my daughters have been going to Chatters for many years and have had very good service, when a cut isn't satisfactory they fix it free of charge. However this last incident has made me think twice about every going there again. My daughter graduated this year and was very disappointed to learn she would not have a prom. We had beautiful dress altered and picked it up days before the Covid restrictions in March. Once things started to open up her friends mom and I decided to have a Prom BBQ for the girls where they could dress up, get their hair and make up done, to make up for their cancelled Prom. The girls phoned and made an appointment to have their hair done together at Chatters. The week before the backyard prom I received a voice mail stating my daughters appointment is cancelled. When I called the salon for an explanation I was told that she had been booked with a hairdresser that was not supposed to be scheduled that day and would not be in. I explained that this is not a simple trim or colouring that could be rescheduled this was for an event that day; in fact we had a timeline for the day including pictures with family at a location. I was offered a later time that day that would not work. There didn't seem to much of an effort to make up for this, simply an apology. Luckily her big brother works with some very talented people and one of them that works in film stepped up to come out from Vancouver to do her hair and make up. Thankfully she will not have to suffer another disappointment with all that has been taken from her by Covid!!!

A simple highlight that was onlynm supposed to be 1 hour took 3 and a half and they did it wrong. Covid19 procedures not in effect here. They had customers bouncing around from chair to chair and different stylists all doing something different on the same people. Stylist kept walking away to do other things. I've been going to Chatters for years now. I tried many different salons and found a stylist here that I really love. We always chat in detail about what to do today and my long term goals. She gives me a little should massage when color is setting. I think people need to shop around for the right stylist and I happen to find mine at Chatters. I get a free product every time I get my hair done and I go there for all my hair products because either the reception or my stylist will wak around the store with my and help me select whatever it is I need. Prices are no different then anywhere in Fort Mcmurray. I used to go to the highest end salons when I lived in BC and sure they aren't celebrity stylists at Chatters, but my stylist at Chatters always satisfies.

My mother and i went there together. I have long hair, have had many bad experiences with the hair dressers cutting off too much length. Chi was my hairdresser, she did an amazing job, gave me exactly what i wanted. I had the full wash, cut, color, and style. Wonderful experience. They do however need to do some deep cleaning in there.. when you go to such a well known salon, you'd expect a standard of excellence in all areas. the appearance of the store did not measure up to the talent and quality of service i received.

My dresser was Leelah (I hope I spelled that name right, if not I apologise) and she was very nice and listened to my concerns about getting trims done on my hair, my horror stories, etcetera. She was quick, efficient, and trimmed my hair to a perfect natural lay that works excellent with my everyday styles. She even offered that if I wanted just a little more off, I could call and get a booking with her and she would fix it - free of charge. For those that say it is a little pricey, I feel better paying a bit extra to have a competent stylist work on my hair who will listen to my concerns and explain to me what they're doing to my hair and fix things on the spot than someone who cuts my hair flat across my back like I'm staring in a Disney Channel Original Movie from the early 2000's. Thank you again to Leelah, and I know for sure when my hair needs a trim again in 6 months I'll be returning to Chatters, hopefully with you as my stylist.

Normally it’s my go to choice for a hair cut they are usually some of the best which is why it pains me to say this but after my recent visit there as everything was going normal as the hair dresser was finishing up she said “there you finally look clean” not entirely sure where she was going with that statement yeah it had been a while since I cut my hair but was she saying I was dirty? Dunno whatever the case maybe I misunderstood but anyway you spin it doesn’t sound very professional truthfully don’t know how to take it yeah she may have meant clean cut but “you finally look clean” doesn’t sound to good just something to keep in mind not sure if they got people that look at these but wasn’t a nice feeling had she had meant I looked dirty

The lady I saw had no idea how to deal with dyed hair. I came in for my appointment and left without getting anything done because she freaked out over my hair having dye in it and acted like it was crazy that I wanted the almost entirely faded color dyed over. I left when she said that she didn't know if she could make my hair look good. Went to the salon upstairs and was very pleased with the result.

I started getting my hair coloured and cut a few months ago on a regular basis. I have gone a few times over the last couple of years but Chatters is expensive as most hair salons are. My hairstylist now is Chelsea in Chilliwack and she is amazing! Listens to what I want and is personable. My hair always looks great and she is sensitive to my budget concerns as well. I think it's worth paying a little more for a great stylist!

I went to get a roots touch up, and the experience was ok, until I was ask to sign up for an understanding agreement. I never have to do any paper work before a hair cut or colour before, but Chatter does it for new customers she said. I read the agreement. I was really tempted to just not sign and go to another salon...but it was more convenient for me to get it done now, so I signed. The agreement was stated that I understand the procedure that will be done...bla-bla and accept the consequences..really?! What if the hair stylist made a mistake? I am not going there again! This is ridiculous. I may as well make the hair stylist sign an agreement too, to make sure she understands what I want...!

Feedback is the Breakfast of Champions!! But, if the business does not want the feedback nor care to hear it or receive it, that tells you a lot about the business. It tells you they don't care about the customer!! I wanted to provide specific, detailed feedback about the service, the cut, the style (not the person) but the behavior/haircut/hairstyle or lack of hair style and I wanted to give it to them personally, not on the internet! I don't even want to give Julius one star as the cut and "no style" that he gave me does not deserve one star. I wrote a page long review about this salon and how terrible the service was and how I have called the manager 6 times and she has not bothered to return my calls. and, yet what I typed was not posted!! why? I also asked for the owners name and number since the Manager does not care to receive the feedback but they would not give me her number either nor offer to have her call me. I wonder how they are controlling what you write about how horrible the stylist is. He can't cut hair properly!! and he does not care what you want!! And he is pretty sneaky about how he goes about Ruining your hair. He turns you sideways so when he cuts your hair you cannot watch what he is doing because he has turned you away from the mirror. I will never ever let a stylist do that to me ever again!! I am furious about what he did and how he ruined my hair. It will take months to grow out. I brought pictures of me with my hair cut precisely the way I like it but he barely glanced at the photos. He knew he was going to cut it the way he wanted to cut it, not the way I wanted it. And I asked before I made the appointment if he was given extra time for new customers and the receptionist said yes. Yet the 5 minutes after I was out of his chair another woman with an appointment was there to sit it in it. I am so sorry I went to this salon. I would have been better of going to one of those "cheap" salons and they probably would have done a better job. I mean Julius did not even bother to put any styling mousse in my hair and when he was done, my hair just lay flat on my head. I was so horrified with how my hair looked, I went right home instead of going out. My hair looked better when I walked in. Since he cut it, it looks terrible!! and they don't care!! that's the worst part! to spend my time and money and trust someone to cut my hair and to pay full price plus a tip and to be totally ripped off!! I don't know how they sleep at night knowing he is ruining people's hair. a woman's hair style is important to her!! I am beyond disgusted, disappointed, furious at what Julius did to my hair! :-( :-( You stole my time, my money and my hair!!!

Kaila is the best stylist I've ever been to. She takes my hair's thick and curly texture, my face shape, my lifestyle, etc into account. In the past, I have always run home after every haircut to take a shower and reset my hair. But not with Kaila. My hair looks so great... I don't have to "give it a week" to settle into a style I like. I really believe the key to Kaila's success is that she doesn't just cut a standard pixie or bob or whatever style you're looking for. She really listens and gives you a custom haircut. Usually I have to get my very short hair cut every couple of weeks to maintain the look I want, but my hair grows out so nicely when Kaila cuts my hair. I last a lot longer between cuts. I can't say enough about how happy I am with Kaila as my stylist.

Been looking for a solid stylist my entire life that I can always go to; Jerry is finally it, been going there for 2 years now. If he ever leaves I will surly follow, the guys awesome. Price is a bit steep though, over $30 for a men's cut including tip. Would be nice if the company appreciated repeat business by making the rewards program a bit better. A free cut every 10 visits isn't unreasonable, that's one a year. I spend over $300 and get a "thank you for your business".

The only thing this location can do constantly is good colour, and even then it's kind of sketchy. I've been to this location many times, mostly because the majority of my appointments have gone well. However there are a few stylists that don't seem to know when they're stepping too far. My last appointment was an absolute disaster. The stylist got bleach on my skin and clothes, and wouldn't actually do what I asked her to do. She also cut my hair despite my telling her numerous times that I did not want it cut, just dyed. Basically, when this place is good it's mostly pretty good, but when it's bad it's an absolute mess.

I have Remy Keratin bonded hair extensions and red hair, both of those on their own is kinda tricky to deal with. I always color my own hair because I dont trust anyone to touch it. Recently I had faded and color oops'd out my natural hair to get rid of dye build up from 2 years of the same color (not a good idea I know) I was left with bright orange copper on my crown and a deep Auburn on my extensions. I was not happy. Not to mention I'm getting married soon and my hair and make up trail is in a day. Yikes! The first place I went into wouldn't even touch my hair from fear of ruining my extensions, they claim to have been sued in the past ????. On a whim I called Chatters to see if they had room for me to get a color correction and explained my hair situation. I was given an appointment immediately. Charlotte, my hair dresser, was kind and understanding of my situation and totally fixed my hair. We even made plans for my next few appointments before my January wedding to get me where I need to be. Not to mention that she is super easy to talk to and has a fun personality. This chick knows her sh*t, let me tell you! So if you need a helping hand for your damaged and frightening locks call Charlotte, I swear to god that she's the hair whisperer.

My coworker going to the same place have great style women shorter hair with some length. . They do follow the Covid--- protocol perfectly .
