Before going in, I was a little worried since I have frizzy coarse asian hair, going from waist length to lob. Absolutely terrible. They didn't listen to the tone I wanted and just went and mixed some up and then the stylists put my hair in my face with toner on it and I got a rash. When I went back because it wasn't the tone I wanted the owner yelled at me and told me she wouldn't fix it and would charge me full price again... not to mention she told me I didn't get a rash because toner doesn't do that. Definitely won't be going back and won't be recommending this place to anyone.

When my wife and I moved to Barrie around 2 years ago, I needed a new hair salon and my friend recommended Rush Hair Salon. Been going ever since and its always a pleasure! My Wife and I (and even our 1.5 year old) have been lucky enough to be under the talented wing of Chantel. Chantel Is a great mix of professional and playfully sassy, which really turns getting a humdrum haircut into a event I look forward to! (sad I know!) Not only do I leave every-time satisfied with the cut of my hair, I leave...with a smile. So that's my recommendation!

I went in with a pretty awful haircut from another hair salon that needed some serious fixing. I didn’t think they would be able to make it into what I wanted with some more time for it to grow out. Chantel was able to not only fix it, but made it look as if my awful hair cut never happened. They don’t cover their work up with sprays and styling. They not only do as you ask, but also give helpful suggestions as to what suits you best. Finally, someone that knows what they’re doing. I will be going back and recommending them to anyone who asks.

When I moved back to Barrie I tried a few different places over a couple years and finally ended up at Rush! I’ve been using them for 2 years now and love my hair every single time I get it done. I’ve used them for both lightening and going dark - the colour and cuts are always amazing. Maggie cut my hair today and I’m already looking forward to going back to her in a couple months for summer highlights. The studio is clean, everyone is so nice and Maggie really explained everything she was doing and why throughout the whole process. I love the way my hair looks.

Great place for a man's haircut. I was in Barrie for a wedding and found Rush through Google so I didn't have any expectations one way or the other when went in. I ended up getting a fantastic haircut from the owner, Jacqueline. She actually gave me advice on the cut based on how my hair grows, gave me styling tips and even rinsed out all the cut hair out afterwards - that was a definite plus. I'm disappointed I won't be able to go back regularly since I don't live in Barrie but I thought the least in could do was write a good review since my experience was great.

I have been seeing Chantal for over a year and have found her cuts and styling to be exemplary! I walked in with yellow hair from multiple failed bleach attempts. slShe used toner to keep from further damaging my hair, recommended excellent products to assist my hair's recovery and cut it short (at my request!) and super cute! She teases me about my yellow flower coloured hair to this day! But, she fixed it with flair!

When I moved to the area, I tried a few salons and was never satisfied with any place until my first appointment at Rush Hair Studio. I’ve now been going for almost 10 years! Not only do they keep my blonde hair looking healthy and beautiful, they are now doing my 4 teenaged daughters’ hair! One of my daughters always gets bold, current, amazing colours and styles (think rainbow) and it always looks amazing. She CONSTANTLY gets compliments from strangers every time we go out! Two of them have insanely curly hair and they always leave with gorgeous styles. The level of skill and art at this salon is unbeatable no matter what is asked of them. Another thing I appreciate is that they always educate their customers on their hair/style to help manage and prolong the results. I will never go anywhere else.

Unfortunately I can't rate this zero stars so I had to give it one star, but just know that I would be giving it 0 stars if I could. The staff in this salon is so incredibly rude, the have no respect towards customers. They did not listen to what I wanted done at all, and I know many other who had had the same problem. I would avoid this overpriced horrible salon. Go somewhere that take pride in customer service and listens to what they costumer wants.

BRUTAL ! They charged me $25 plus tax and tip for my sons hair cut who was 3. They did an AWFUL job in 15 minutes. The stylist put gel in it when we got home and washed it. It’s a gaint mess..... my husband is downstairs giving him a buzz cut. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!

I am so happy with my experience at Rush! I had a terrible hair cut earlier today at another salon and I was so upset with my hair. Rush was able to fit me and Chantel not only saved my hair, she actually gave me the hair cut I was looking for! They were so nice and helpful! Went in for a full head of highlights- service itself was good. But, the cost was the most insane amount I’ve ever paid for the exact same service. I was quoted at $125 for a full head of highlights- was charged $165 because my hair is dark and thick, so understandable. I told the stylist that my usual stylist gave me toner to use (because she wasn’t able to book me in over the holidays, so I tried Rush in the interim). She told me that I would still need to be toned at the salon, even though I had said I would do that with the stuff I knew I liked at home- another $40. But here’s the kicker- without my knowledge of the extra cost, I was charged $40 for a blow dry. It is $40 extra if you want to leave this salon with dry hair. When I asked why I wasn’t informed about this added cost, I was told that most people ask. Really?? Who expects that it will cost EXTRA to leave a salon with DRY HAIR? On top of that, I was told my hair is dead and that I should get a haircut- despite not having a split end in sight. In summary, largely unaffordable and there are other places in Barrie that do just as good of a job for a way more affordable price, such as Avé Salon or Louis Style.

Had my hair done once, was very disappointed and was MADE to pay for my hair even though it was fried and not what I had asked for, went back a second time to get it fixed, and still was made to barely make a difference, then came back a couple days later for prom updo and was told to shut up and stop being salty by the manager Chantelle when I said I want my hair a little different. Then I called and complained and she was laughing on the phone at me the entire time when I was asking why I was being treated so rudely.

I recently decided I needed a change of hair stylists and decided to try Rush. Jacqueline did my cut and color. I wasn't unhappy with the results but still felt the colour wasnt quite what I wanted. Jacqueline spent a substantial amount of time, effort and products to get my hair where I wanted it to be. I am extremely impressed with her professionalism, passion and great attitude.
