My hairstylist was Joumana, she is really nice person and she did her best on my hair which I really love it. My previous hair color was dark brown with some permanent hair color in the bottom and she did very nice and amazing blond color on my hair. So I want to say that I really satisfied that I went to this salon and met Joumana and I definitely will go again there in future for other services.

She was able to listen to my hair concerns/struggles and take them all into consideration to create the ideal style. Courtenay gave me an excellent cut - stylish, precise, and the best cut I've had in a long time. Alan gave my man's longish, thick hair shape and left the length. This was my first time coming to The Lounge Hair Studio, but not my first time getting my hair cut by Mervin. Mervin is EXCELLENT at both the art of cutting/styling hair and LISTENING AND UNDERSTANDING what you want. I have curly hair (so major trust issues when it comes to hairstylists) and have only recently gone for a short hairstyle; the first time I went to Mervin he brought out his iPad and helped me surf the web for reference pictures to figure out exactly what style I was going for. This time around I was, as usual, very happy with how my hair turned out. The hair studio itself was also excellent; everything was clean and all staff wore their masks correctly. It was a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The music playing in the background was a bit loud compared to some other salons I've been to, so if you have autism and/or sound sensitivities like me, you might need ear plugs or to mentally prepare yourself. Regardless, it was a 5/5 experience.

They can always slot me in and always offer the loveliest treatments, cup of tea, little cookie and friendly chat. Alan knew exactly what my unruly wavy hair needed and was kind enough to give me suggestions and style tips to keep it looking great and healthy. He took plenty of time to go over what type of cut would work on my hair without making it a big poofy triangle. I literally came out with a whole new perspective on what I could do with my waves and thanks to Alan I now have great long layers and a lovely cut to frame my face.Would highly recommend The Lounge to anyone with any hair type! Seriously had one of the greatest experiences here and absolutely will come back again!

On the phone they said Carolyn charges $45 so I booked a haircut with her and they ended up charging me $60 instead after the haircut. During the hair cut she asked me about the length of how I wanted certain parts and so I showed her, but she ended up doing her own thing instead. At other places they would always give you a scalp massage while washing your hair but not this one. Also, at other salons the stylist would always make sure your hair is conditioned so that it doesn't hurt when they brush through it, but she didn't do anything like that until I complained about the pain, but it seemed like she was trying to skimp out on product use or something since the pain continued even after I complained about it.

After 10 years+ of visiting Lance Blanchette at The Lounge every 4 weeks religiously for a cut, color + styling including the odd blow dry, I am now, on Lance's guidance, in the process of letting my hair grow to its natural grey. Yes! I'm there! You would be AMAZED to see how gracefully he is allowing me to go from blonde to grey and how fabulous my hair looks - no ugly lines between new and old but an amazingly smooth transition of multiple highlights! The staff was nice. My review is not about the reduced services due to Covid. The hair dresser didn't want to wash or blow dry my hair because of Covid, which I very much understood. They didn't mention to have my hair washed prior to the appointment. So they aren't washin or blow drying people's hair but charge the full price for styling, cut and blow dry instead of reducing their prices to reflect the service. This was not very ethical.

I have used Lance, who was great, and for the past few years I've used Caroline, who I adore. Both of them are smart, interesting and great stylists. Since re-opening, the owners Lance and Martin have established very careful protocols: taking temperature, insisting on hand sanitizer, everyone --customers and stylists -- wears masks, and for cuts no washing or blowdrying. It feels very safe without feeling weird or sterile. I'd recommend the Lounge to anyone -- great place, great people, great stylin'!

I don't want to Leave such a poor review but seeing how I came to this place based on reviews I need to. My hairdresser I had was a nice guy great to talk with. It's a review on hair cuts so for that reason I have to leave a 1 star as there is nothing less. My experience has been nothing but awful coming here. I went in with long beautiful hair, I also have natural curl not spring like but a nice curl. I came based on reviews never been here but Frankie has amazing reviews figured I'd would try him. But my hair was left literally butchered. He told me my hair length would be mid back to where my bra strap was, he had me touch it there and I was ya that still long. To only leave the salon with my hair tad passed my shoulders and i can't even come close to touching it in the back. The front it was cut about 2.5- 3 inches longer in the front than the back. I had gone in for a haircut get the ends cleaned up. A WOW haircut as the reviews were great! Not how I left...When I was leaving I was saying how short it seemed in the back. Couldn't really tell how my hair was as it was left in its curl. Had it actually be done I would had been horrified in the shop for sure! I arrive to my friends place to take it out of the pony as I couldn't stand how I looked. For her response was "oh wow it's short" by the time I got to her place I called to speak to Frankie and explain how I wasn't happy. He invited me back in basically 2 days later as he wasn't in the following day. He suggested it was cause it wasn't done straight and he would take a look and show me. So I told my friend I was going back to see him again her reponse was " u trust the same guy to fix what he had done" that made me think... how can I as I've literally been butchered. That's how it felt with short short hair in the back and longer hair in the front. And no I never went in asking for a long bob. I have had my long hair for the last 10+ years but styled cut nicely, long bread, long waves just long. Which now I can't do none of that. I was able to get into one of Vancouver's top stylist through a friend. I went to see him the next day. I didn't even get to tell him about my haircut before he said " what has happen?" I explained I had gone for a haircut and left like this. He gave me to options 1) to cut it to all be the same length 2) leave it uneven wait months for it to grow out. I clearly couldn't do 2 as it was beyond uneven. And he was worried with 1 as more length would be taken off but felt that's the best one for growth to happen evenly. So I had to cut my hair and when he was cutting he was "oh my" I was on What? Thinking what is it what more lol... he was " it's just so much worse then I thought" the cut in the back was so uneven and he had to even fix and clean that up. I did ask him does it look like he tried to give me a long Bob? He said " i have no idea what he tried as ur hair has no shape or style." " u were left with a mess" I left the hair salon happier because I had a clean cut but not happy I lost my hair due to my first haircut. The lounge did offer to have me come in with a senior stylist but honestly, I didn't have much faith overall going there, I appreciate they offered. After meeting with the other stylist and what he told me... I should have gone back for them to see how I bad it really was and maybe Frankie could have learned. They asked what they could do for me, I suggest refund my money as I have to pay for another hair cut. They refused as they don't do that. I could understand but a stylist rents that chair out and my bad haircut was on Frankies time that's what he lost, I lost all my hair. And will go months now waiting for it to grow but it will take close to a year for it to get to where I had it in length before I went in there. So my overall experience would have been less than a one star. This isn't anything against Frankie as person great guy to chat to but this is based on a haircut and overall experience. Thank you, for your time. I hope it may help someone else with super beautiful long hair.
