This looks like a hang out place for friends of some of the barbers. Literally doesn’t even care for others who is there for relaxing and pampering! The only advantage for me is the place is very convenient from my house, but after the experience, I would rather drive farther and experience professional work and ethics from other salon than hear all those boys chatting. I would never go back to this place or even recommend it! I hope the owner took this issue very well as I’ve seen this happens frequently.

I got a short, textured bob by Donna at Studio D over a month ago. I have really thin hair in the front so I was worried about it but she was a total pro. It's a bit of a tight space but it's lively, fun and professional. Lots of creativity around, funky vibe.... And I walked out of there with an excellent cut that still looks wonderful. And I'm a picky little diva. Definitely going back and very pleased this place is just up the street from me. I got a lot of coupons, too. Bonus! (I had some dental & health issues and was only able to leave this review now. Better late than never!)

Studio D! This place is something special. I started going to this place when my barber Christian (dozablendz) started to work there. The environment when you walk in is super chill and it feels like your in good hands with everyone there. Super nice staff and customer service Now about my guy Christian. He is a magician. One of the best barbers in Vancouver for what I've seen. Going to him will make you want to come back every week to keep looking fresh. I never leave unsatisfied and when I do go, I trust him enough to do his thing. His haircuts from wheres he's started are phenomenal and I am lost for words how dope and professional of a barber he is. Personality wise, he always keeps a conversation going and keeps you engaged, super chill, laid back and gives exceptional customer service. I have been to Studio D several times over the past years and have always had a good experience. However yesterday was the first time I left unsatisfied. The hair was cut way shorter than I had expected and the stylist did not check with me throughout the process. My hair was waist length and is now shoulder length, and I had asked for 3-4 inches off for a trim. I also did not get the shape that I wanted, which was a tapered end because my hair is wavy and does not like blunt, straight across cuts. I thought I was very clear with what I wanted and it hasn’t been an issue in the past. The stylist took a picture of the back to show me after and I almost wanted to cry. The stylist did try to fix it at the end but 1) it was already too short, 2) it has been almost 2 hours and I was running late. I wish I had booked with the person I had before but she wasn’t available at the time I was free.

Great place to get a haircut! It's hard to find a place that gives consistently good men's haircuts at a reasonable price, but Studio D is the place. It's a cool atmosphere with video games for the kids. Donna cuts my hair and has done a great job every time.

It was my first time to Studio D saloon. Got my hair cut with Ashley. I picked this place after searching and reading through google search, then decided to make an appointment. They have very easy online booking system as well. The place: It was clean, tidy, very cozy and I like the relaxing music they played. The price: Very reasonable, with the service + the result of my haircut that I like so much, totally worth it. Ashley: Professional, very polite, paying attention into details, and knowledgeable. I had waist-length hair and I decided to get it cut short (ear-length). She took care of my hair nicely and gently, from washing, drying to styling. Before starting, she asked me how I would like my haircut to be. I told her what I was thinking. Next, there was small discussion (which I like) because she really had idea what type of short haircut that would be suitable for me (my face shape and also my hair type). I know it wasn't easy for her, because I have super straight and thin hair. She was really concentrating and really gave me the best hair style. The best part which I love the most is: with this hairstyle, after washing, I really don't have to do much. I just blow it dry, and the "shape" is already there, and looks more volume. disappointed and absolutely not happy with the service. i doubt if they know about hair smoothening services.. my hair was back to being curly after the first wash; I was advised that straight hair will last from three to six months.. When I look back, I did a conditioning treatment and blow-dry, for the price of Keratin Smoothening Treatment for long hair. Sorry, I am not sure if I have stated my concern clearly, the treatment didn't smoothen my curls.. having said that, my hair is not tight curly, its wavy [flatter and s-shaped waves].. at first, when I called regarding my hair being the same after wash, I was advised that I use the wrong shampoo [i use keratin complex].. When I came to the shop to show my hair, now my hair is to curly. Maybe the products used for smoothening was wrong or maybe the product was defective.

Beautiful, strong nails - and outstanding customer service. It's been a full 7 days since I got my shellac nails and they are strong, beautiful, shiny and look like I got them half an hour ago! I've been cooking, cleaning, swimming, and working with electronics and no problems or chips. I originally went here with a Groupon and had a shellac manicure done. Something went wrong, and my nail polish came off a few days later. I wrote to Studio-D and Donna, the owner, wrote me back personally, and had me come in immediately - after closing hours to fix my nails. She was extremely professional, investigating what had happened, and ensuring that my new shellac was carefully applied and sealed. She didn't charge me anything for re-doing my nails, and stayed 45 minutes after closing to take care of me as soon as I was available. My nails look great and I appreciate her work ethic and dedication to quality. Thanks Donna!

Nicole is awesome! I don't have easy hair to work with - it's in between wavy and curly, I have thin hair but a lot of it, and I have cowlicks in all the wrong places. With every other hairdresser I've seen, my hair looked great...until I washed and tried styling it myself. Nicole asked me what my hair care routine is. She has always given me a cut that looks great walking out the door, but even BETTER following my at-home hair care routine. I don't fight with my hair anymore. Whether I spend an hour styling it or just roll out of bed, it looks and feels good. She's the best!

I’m so happy with my haircut done by Ashley. This was my first salon cut in 5 years so the damage from using scissors at home and heat products over the years really took a tole on my hair. Ashley cut to the exact length I wanted with the perfect amount of layers and curtain bangs to bring back the volume. She took her time and really exemplified the great detail and effort she puts into her work. Absolutely amazing nail tech named Jesse! Ive had horrible experiences at nail salons were my nail has been ripped off so I don't normally feel comfortable when people see my nails but, Jesse made me feel absolutely great and not self conscious at all. I workout everyday so my biggest fear is them snapping off half way during my workout but, ive never experienced that as soon as I switched to going to Jesse. They use high quality products on your nails, and if you have questions about what's being put on you can ask Jesse. I've gone to many nail techs in Vancouver and I've never found any salon to do my nails as good as Studio D. Absolutely love the nail art Jesse does and the amazing prices.. who can say no to $35 acrylics? Have been going there since they opened and have no desire to go anywhere else. Highly recommend booking an appointment.. hands down the best nail salon in Vancouver. My nails have also made an appearance on her instagram; Jessedoesnails.

I needed a professional to look at my long curly hair and tell me what it needed for volume and without jeopardizing my length Ashley was able to texturize my hair with long layers. I rarely ever go to a salon in fear they chop off my hair and with it being curly hair some people don't take shrinkage into consideration. Not much changed in my current style but the ends are trim and my hair was so soft. Ashley was very personable and chatty :D Recommend!!

And finally went to this salon so I can look presentable for my new job, asked the hairdresser to just do some cleanup and not cut short the length. I went there for some hair consultation, was hoping to see Nicole since I have always been very satisfied with her and Lindsay’s service. I entered inside and Carol was sitting in the corner and there were no other guests, I did not receive no greeting (it’s ok), but I had to wait there literally expecting her to come and assist us and finally I chose to ring the bell to get helped. There she comes towards the desk, literally looking uninterested to help, gives me a cent of advice on what I should go for my hair. Sadly, that visit was not help. But I would still recommend this place, better if you see Nicole, Lindsay and the one who sits beside Nicole.

had the worst service. was charged $45 for a haircut and got a total novice hair cut service. did not get the hair i wanted. ended to blow dry my hair after the haircut since she does not even know how to properly dry hair. my hair got practiced by a novice ans was charged for a senior rate. totally upset and disappointed. if this salon have a novice service, they should not charge the client $40 for a hair cut that is only worth $10. nearby cheap salons would be a choice if this is the case. i should have tried the salons nearby. the reason clients opted to go to a more pricy salon because of the expertise. upset with the service. i guess they only serve to people they know and for new comer they practice. bad way to attract new clients. be aware jist read the rest of the review and same thing to Arun Rahi? and management promised they will ensure it wont happen again. when i call them up to inquire they asked me and if i am new to the salon, and maybe decided to just pick up ramdom person the store( who even does not know how to cut) and assigned it to me. Now i am wearing an uneven hair, worst haircut aand cannot even make it fix since the hair was too short to fix.

I recently have started coming to this location because my barber Christian Mendoza had switched over. Christian is the man to go to for fades, lining up your beard and doing your eyebrows. Christian takes his time in cutting your hair. I drive 30/45 mins just so I can get cuts from Christian! 10/10 would recommend Christian for needs!

I have been getting my hair cut at a hair school downtown that takes up to three hours to get a shampoo and cut, but only costs $15 and they do a really good job. Well this only works when you have that kind of time, so I started trying fancy boutique salons on Main street, paying $60 before tax and tip, and somehow I just didn't have any success getting haircuts I actually liked! Finally today I tried Studio D, only a ten minute walk from my home, and boy am I glad I did! I left there with a killer haircut, that I am so happy with, and at a great price! Only $35. I will definitely be going back here!!! UPDATE: Still great haircuts, but prices have gone up since the move to their new location a few doors down. Ladies haircut is about $45 now.

When I found Studio D, there were only two barbers; Donna was the one who cut my hair. Not only did Donna did an excellent job but she remembers me. Normally, I would get a haircut once a month and out of every barbers I've tried, Donna was the only who remembers me. She provides that extra customer service that you don't normally receive when you get a haircut. It is now close to the end of 2016 and I am still that very happy customer.

They have 2 stage hair stylist ratings meaning 1 is beginner hair stylist paying up to $ 22 and 2 is between 22 and 40 or more for experienced hair stylist. Music is a lil too loud to i left with a slight headache. It's a nice place though. Id give a 5 star if music was a lil lower and stylist was quicker with my hair. I sat for nearly an hour in the chair.

Master Barber Donna is now a Master SMP artist. I believe only she can deliver the best SMP overall experience because she’s the only one who understands hair follicles and natural hairlines for men and women from her extensive barber experience. There was Zero pain, zero itch (after treatment) very sanitary and extremely clean work. I didn’t know that a hairline could look so natural from tattoo! I’m sure there’s tattoo artists who are “ok” at SMP but I think the years of being one of the top barbers in Vancouver is what makes her standout and made her become so good at SMP in short time. I love my SMP work. I have more confidence and more style with my new “hair” thank you for your professional and comfortable environment. Cool and positive vibes. I've had a number of services from them including: long and short cuts, undercuts, bangs, lightening, coloring, treatments, blowouts, styles, and makeup services (both glamor and special effects). I have never left Carole's chair unhappy! I'm also someone who really doesn't like having their head touched and Carole is so gentle and patient about that. They always make sure I'm comfortable :)

First time being there... made an appointment for 615pm. Got there around 605pm. I walked in and looked for someone to speak to. All the barbers just kind of looked at me and ignored me. So I sat down and just waited. 615 passed then 620 passed 625 passed.. not one person that worked there even acknowledged me. Finally at 630 I finally got someone's attention. Got probably one of the worst haircuts I've had in a long time. She barely even cut anything and kept asking the same personal questions over and over again. The people that work there only seem to care about their buddies that come in and ignore the general public. Would never go there again. Not worth $ 30.

Went to Joseph Oppong so worth it. He cut me so nicely, and was amazing to talk with. He did some face massage thing when he washed my hair , felt amazing. Not too expensive and a good bang for your buck.

Best hair salon in the city. Been coming to Studio D to see Donna since I moved from Winnipeg in 2013. It's tucked away in a little corner of residential Vancouver, it's easy to miss from the outside. But once you're inside you'll see the interior design, music, overall vibe, that places this salon amongst the very best in BC. Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable staff, and the best haircuts and style tips I've ever received. The staff at Studio D are the only ones that have my full trust when it comes to my hair, and it takes a long time to find people like that. I come all the way from Port Coquitlam and it's worth the trip every time. I'm so glad I found this place.

Very impressed with Ethan W for the hair colour and cut he gave me! The colour is exactly what I wanted. Ethan also recommended a cut for me that suited my face very well! Overall atmosphere was clean and tidy, and front desk lady was very nice! Excited to come back in the future!!

I would not recommend going here. Multiples time they have either double booked me or the person who was suppose to cut my hair, just didn't show up. No respect for their customers time. Don't take booking if your not going to show up. The haircuts i did get were good and the atmoshphere was nice. But customer service was terrible. Cant believe no one else has experienced this. Are the other reviews even real on this site? Dont book Bryan. He will likely not even show up. Im done with this place and will find another salon. Just warning the next person that comes through the door.
