The owner Pam is great. Very sweet, kind and professional. Natalie and Indu are great too. The only one I don't like is Alana the receptionist. She is very rude and has an extremely condescending attitude. Amy, the other receptionist is a total sweetheart. I wish Pam would get rid of Alana or at least train her to be more friendly. In that line of work having a friendly, polite person at the front desk is crucial and says a lot about the company. Hair services are great except Pam's pricing for just a wash and style is outrageous. Root touch up is decently priced but the color fades after 3 weeks. Overall, a nice place if you don't have to deal with Alana.

My experience in this room was not good. I usually go to a salon to feel better, take care of myself, and feel more beautiful. I went to make lights in the hair and I left with orange hair because the person did not wait the right time to just discolor, so she tinted, put ink in my hair and I said I did not want anything with paint. And the worst came out with her hair looking like a witch because she said she did not have time to make a brush. I will never come back.

I would have given them 0 stars if that was an option but I had to give them one. I asked the receptionist how much a deep hair condition cost and they said $30 for the whole process. The hair dresser washed my hair applied the treatment and then put me under the hair dryer, she set a timer for 20 min then after washed the treatment out of my hair. She asked me to go over to her chair and started blow dying it with out asking. She then said do you want me to straighten your hair it would look really nice. I said ok, she didnt mention it costing extra or that their would be a "styling fee" Then when I went to the till she started whispering to the receptionist/owner of the salon back and forth and then she told me I had to pay $69! I was shocked, angry, and upset. I told her why is it $69 when the receptionist/owner told me it was $30? She told me it was $35 to straighten my hair and $30 for the treatment plus tax. I told her she never mentioned a price to straighten my hair, she never told me it would cost extra. The hair dressers name is Sylvia and she was whispering to the receptionist to try to charge me for a service I didn't ask for and wasn't told about a price. The owner made me pay $47. I later went back to try to speak to the manager again but the hair stylist said she left. I gave the stylist my contact information and asked if the manager could contact me so we can talk about this and hopefully rectify the situation. I was told by the stylist that the manager/owner would get back to me today but she did not. I will never be going back to this unprofessional salon again.

JAY WAS FANTASTIC! I was very skeptical of going to the place seeing the reviews but Jay was very knowledgeable, polite, friendly and honest. I don’t normally leave reviews for anything but her service deserved a review. She communicates with you at every step, gives her recommendations and advice. Most importantly, she pays attention to your needs and within the first 2 minutes of talking to her, my nerves were calm. I knew I was in good hands!

stylist IRIS ruined my blonde hair she bleached a STRIPE at the top, i will never go back to this horrible stylist nor this salon , their customer service was so awful iris ignored me the whole time while bleach was sitting on my hair and socialized with the other stylists and didn’t respond to any of my requests. my hair is naturally warm and i requested warm and instead she bleached a COOL PURPLE stripe at the top of my hair. i still have not recovered from this disaster as it’s grown out only a few inches. i’ve seen other stylists since her and the only way to correct what’s Iris is to grow it out. what a disaster

They were able to book me in that day for a wash, cut (long hair), and dry/style (2 hours later though). I walked in, requested a hairdresser experienced with long-to-short haircuts. After a 2-hour errand run, the dresser called my name. She was polite, passionate, AND very experienced with short haircuts (previously employed at a barber shop), like I requested. While she didn't introduce herself, her ability AND intuition made up for that tiny 'misdemeanor' in customer service. → She gave me the pixie cut I wanted—for half the price I paid at a salon downtown—AND she was in tune with my 'preferred level of socializing during a haircut'! That is always a bonus, when the hairdresser is matched with a "compatible" customer. → Another bonus was how accommodating she was when I asked if she could cut a little bit more off my bangs and if she could "make it less poofy". It can be quite tricky to know exactly HOW to cut, thin and texturize when creating a pixie cut on someone with coarse/thick hair. P.S. I paid $52 (incl. tax) for this appointment which—again—included a wash, cut (long hair), dry, and style.

I have been a client at the Central City location for the past 10 years and only had 1 semi bad experience. I always had Ashley or Krystal(who no longer works there) work on my hair and always had me leaving as a satisfied and happy customer. I would have given a 5 star but I had a baby last year and before Christmas really wanted to look nice with a fresh new look. I walked in and unfortunately couldn't get an appointment with Ashley as she was fully booked and got to learn Krystal no longer worked there. I was very unhappy to hear that but I wish her the bestas she did an amazing job. Moning on I never had a bad experience at the salon so didn't mind trying someone new. The girl who was at receptionist booked me in as her client and I usually take a lot of time finding a picture of the cut I want so I can show the stylist and get exactly what I like. I was a little dissapointed with the shut downs of my new stylist whose name I didnt catch of telling me what would be better for me instead of what I wanted and left me with a haircut I struggled to like. The haircut was a big deal for me as it was supposed to be rewarding and to make me happy. My last apointment just left me dissapointed. I would say it all depends on the stylist. If I could reccomend anyone it would be Ashley, the woman has NEVER left me dissapointed or unhappy plus she has got a great personality. ????

I did my hair with the owner (Pam) I Asked for cooper highlights and I asked (many times to not start from the roots). They did the wrong color (blond highlights) and also did it from the roots. She curled my hair without asking if I want it and she didn't show me the haircut at the end (later at home I notice the poor haircut). Pam even had the nerve to say that I'll have it the way I wanted by Christmas. Now I'm going somewhere else to try fixing it, cause there's no way I'm going back there. I've paid 320Cad and I'm Extremely disappointed!!!

Jessica is amazing hands down. I had box died black hair and she got me blonde in my first session. She really cares about her clients and DOES NOT RUSH. She takes her time and delivers amazing results. She did a chocolate melt with blonde and recommended amazing products to keep the colour as blonde as possible. I've gone to Platinum hair Salon and Spa a few times in the past 6 month. I have always booked appointments to get my brows/face threaded. I choose threading because hot wax on my face has always caused terrible reactions to my skin. When I went in for my full face threading appointment recently (I was leaving for a family vacation a few days after). The lady was extremely rude and without so much as saying hi, she simply said "get in the chair at the sink". I have never received threading from there before, but I did was I was told, sat back and shut my eyes. All of the sudden I felt warm wax being applied to my upper lip! I sat up fast and said "I made a threading appointment!" The lady rolled her eyes quickly applied the wax strip and ripped it off before I could get another word in. My upper lip was covered in a dark, painful rash on the one side where she waxed for a long time during most of my vacation. I felt weirdly violated and I felt like they were annoyed with me for being upset that they made a mistake. They made no attempt to rectify there mistake, not so much as a apology. I have never been treated with such disrespect at a establishment in my life. I urge anyone considering to go to Platinum Salon to please reconsider. They have proven they don't care about the wellbeing of loyal customers. I will Never ever go there again and I hope others will steer clear of this Salon in the future. Poor customer service!! was given an appointment, showed up and was cancelled on the spot. Paid for a service $150+ a week prior and Color completely faded out. Came back to correct it and was told to book again for the following week, after I had an appt that same day. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this place for years and never get what I pay for. Go somewhere else where staff are professional and know what they are doing. If I could give them 0 I would. And after reading the rest of the reviews they definitely over charge. They style your hair without even telling you it’s an “additional cost” always adding extras. I always end up paying $250-300 then told come back next week for toner then pay extra totalling almost $400. This was the last straw ! They lost a customer. I walked out frustrated with horrible hair and losing money.

Yes my hair turned out nice, but I was scammed and ended up paying double what I expected to. They charge for everything and then charge some more be very careful. Also if they ask to do anything more be very specific if it's an extra cost. Even the barley done straightening job was extra, plus my hair was still wet underneath when she was done. Also if they add an extra colour in your hair -that the stylist suggested would add more depth I thought nothing of it- added on top of being charged for lightening my hair a bit and the original colour was another whopping 40$ charge to my bill. Nobody cared espcially when I told what I was quoted on the phone and they just said yea plus this and that and turned the ATM toward me. Nuts never again. It's not a swanky salon either people bumping into each other constantly and its cluttered. The sinks are very uncomfortable and she kept pouring water in my ear. Even downtown salon's don't charge that much.

Don't trust them when they say that they'll book you with an experienced hair dresser who knows how to cut short hair. I asked for a one inch trim and got four inches chopped off AND an uneven haircut. I've been going to one hairdresser there for years, but she was busy, so I ended up trusting them and going with who they recommended. After complaining, the owner offered a free haircut. No thanks! I'll never go back again!

Horrible work done on my hairs. I showed them my hair colour and asked for same colour, but it ended up with totally different colour. When i asked to change my colour, they overcharged me for their mistake. Lady at reception was rude. I complained her and was expecting to get some help from her, but she started yelling and said we did colour twice and i have to charge you for this. I will not recommend anyone to go there. Even if you going make sure you get everything in writing from them. My hairs were way shorter than last time, still they charge me extra.

Had the worst experience here. I booked an appointment for a haircut and when I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist told me to wait for 5 minutes. I waited even longer and when I went up to the counter to ask why no one is taking me in for my appointment they told me that the stylist is with another client and cannot start with my appointment today. I cannot believe how rude and unprofessional that was! Such horrible customer service! They didn’t even bother to call me in advance to reschedule? I’m extremely upset and do not recommend anyone coming to this hair salon if you want your time wasted.

I wish I could add a picture of the MESS this woman (the hair stylist) did to my hair. She was very nice at first... I explained what I wanted (half shaved head and a trim on the other side) that went over just fine. She had then asked me if I would like any lines and I explained that I work in a corporate office and need to stay professional and that she could do ONE (1) Straight line. After the 1st CURVED line was done she continued... Now I figured she was just sharpening it up and sharpening up the line where the shaved/longer hair met. BOY WAS I WRONG. I ended up with NINE!!!!!!!! LINES ON MY HEAD. SOME CURVED, SOME STRAIGHT(not actually straight because the lines were so damn screwed up), SOME ZIG ZAGED... my lhead literally looked like a zebra's BEHIND. I almost burst into tears. The part that made me the most enraged was when I had said that it was not what I wanted and she giggled and calmly said "I like to practice my line's whenever I can, it'll grow out in a few weeks". It is 3 weeks later and the lines are still very visble; She had shaved them right to my bare scalp. Needless to say, when I returned to work I got spoken to regarding my hair cut. NEVER GO THERE.

I have been getting light blonde highlights in my hair for years. My roots were overgrown so went n to get it freshened up. Showed many photos of really light blonde hair that had some light blonde lowlights, mentioned I was interested in that but couldn't have it look ink and would need to be very subtle. My stylist Krystal ignored my request for keeping my hair light and added dark to my hair along with some sparse blonde highlights that were both streaky and blotchy. Was charged a lot more than my last 3 appts paying almost $280! Had to go back and get it fixed and received a lot of attitude from my stylist and I believe she ruined my hair intentionally and instead of light blonde I have crappy orangey bleached hair that is now fried and badly damaged. Have asked multiple times to speak with the manager, made several calls, asked for a refund... they will do nothing and I have not heard one word from the manager. I will never return to this salon and am sharing the photos to show the work they put out. They have not only lost my business but one of my friends want to chance going there after seeing how horrible my hair now is; it looked 100% better before I went in despite the grown out roots.

This salon doesn't fail to disappoint. This business ruined my hair with damage that lasted two years. My long hair was completely chopped off and ruined.The hair stylists are amateur. They do not know how to cut hair evenly. My hair was cut in a straight line on the bottom with no shape. It looked like it was cut with an average pair of scissors. No hair cut should be cut square at the bottom. I was charged for straightening when she never even straightened it at the end. I left the salon with frizzy short hair. My hair looked better before the "professional" touched it. I told the stylist I did not want a dramatic difference and just wanted a trim. I noticed from the moment I walked in that the stylist assigned to me had thin/dry hair herself which just shows they aren't trained or educated with hair care. This is a red flag that should be noticed. Since I have such thick hair, I asked the stylist to thin it out. She over shot it and completely ruined the natural texture. I have never had a problem with other stylists thinning my hair. (She probably wanted to give me the unhealthy damaged look she had herself) I gave this business a chance hoping they would provide an excellent job. I don't know if my healthy hair was damaged out of jealousy OR by simply being unprofessional but I hope no one else went through the same thing I did. I had to buy extensions and regret losing the extra inches that were cut off. A hair stylist should be attentive to what the customer wants and that definitely wasn't the case.

My hair stylist Kristal is some sort of magician, I’ve been going to her for about 4 years and we’ve done highlights, going back dark, and today even pink! I have pretty long hair and so the idea of cutting it scares me (we’ve all heard horror stories about asking for 1 inch off and having 6 inches taken off) but whenever she cuts my hair she listens to exactly what I want and has never cut more than I ask for. She actually cares about the health of my hair so when I ask her to do something on my hair like making it a lot darker she always reminds me of how that’s gonna impact future styles for example going back to lighter hair. She also reccomends great products for my hair in a super non-pushy way. Overall I would reccomend her to anyone and everyone I have recomended her to, has told me they’ve had a great experience. The most important thing is, I’m able to trust her with my hair and feel great during and after each visit.

I see Shaifa for my Hair 3-4 times a month. She is an amazing stylist. When she is not available she will refer me to other stylists. I have had a very positive experience with all the stylist and the receptionist. Yesterday was the first time I got my make up done by Shaifa. My sister said to me that “on my wedding day any other other day she has seen me with make up, yesterday’s make up tops all of them. From now own you should ONLY go to Shaifa to do make up. My hair technician is amazing Iris. This woman cut my hair almost exactly how I wanted it done which is not an easy task. She died my over processed hair and brought it back to life with out damaging, and actually making it healthier and shinier than it’s been in years. I purchased the recommended shampoo (at a cheaper price elsewhere), now I’m in love with my hair again; it’s been years since I felt that way about my hair! She made me feel 28 again!! Iris gets a 4 star rating and I definitely recommended trying her out as your stylist. The store is nicely located in Surrey central mall which is easily accessible. They have great COVID19 practices and the shop is quite clean. There’s a decent selection of hair care products. This shop has been a round for a very long time. Platinum loses 1.5 stars because the store needs updating/renovating. This salon is ridiculously expensive and everything is an add on. To top it off, they will bill you for stuff which you may or may not even want. I was charged $80 (2 separate charges of $40 each) for an Olaplex treatment without being asked if I wanted it or informed. When I asked why my bill was so high and what the Olaplex charges were, the stylist (Ashley) advised me it’s a new product she adds to all her clients hair and my hair is extra long so there is a double charge for it. I hardly noticed this product being added to my hair while it was being done. Even after the fact, I didn’t notice any improvement to my hair worth justifying $80 for. High end salons in Vancouver do not even charge this much for Olaplex. Not just that, the stylist asked me if I wanted my hair styled wavy, straight or curly. I assumed this was already included in the pricing because at most salons it is. I told the stylist it didn’t matter and whatever was easiest because I was just going to be going home. I was billed another $35 for this “wavy” hair which I just went home and slept on. In the end, my bill came to $400 to darken up my colour, add a few highlights and get a so called “style.” I would highly suggest having a consult before you begin because there are a lot of hidden charges. The salon is not honest about their pricing and no prices are advertised anywhere on their website.
