Absolutely Do not go here for a colour service. I'm honestly beyond disappointed. I booked in for a full head of highlights with someone who said they had 20+ years of experience in the field. I spent over 120 dollars PLUS a tip and did not realize how horribly done my hair was until I got home. I now have had to spend another 150 to have it fixed by someone else. A full head of highlights is pretty straight forward...however, I ended up with bleach bleed all over the top of my hair as well as underneath by someone who had 20 years of experience? ridiculous. It looks like my highlights literally go horizontal at some parts. The stylists at the salon I went to fix the job were all mortified and so was I. I will absolutely be demanding a refund of service and wanted to share in an effort to prevent other potential clients from having the same experience. I will say that my stylist was very lovely, however that does excuse this unacceptable service.

My 6 year old son doesn't like getting his hair cut, he is a sensory kid and is nervous about having people he doesn't know touch him. 5 minutes of him sitting with Vince and it was like they knew each other for years. She says no it's fine like that ... and cuts off my super short toupee ... then I ask to clear the tips. She did it but higher than asking. I say no I don't want it that high! She tells me that she gradually fades it so that it "melts" better. In short, she stains my entire sweater. When it removes the coloring, I am shielded with a big brown regrowth !!! It was disgusting. After she offered to take shampoo / conditioner for blonde which is used to cut the yellow in my hair because I had yellow hair. She tells me that is pcq I would have to redo one or two other tinctures. (I was a little more brown chestnut than the real chestnut). Result: refusal to cut the length requested, very very poorly made dye and a sweater that cannot be used. It was the assistant manager or the manager (black hair, long). Not recommended . (Original) Je demande qu'elle coupe tout ce qui es maganer , elle me coupe à peine les cheveux . Donc , je lui dit coupe plus ,svp . ( En montrant avec mes doigts la grandeur que j'aimerai qu'elle enlève ). Elle me dit non c'est bien comme ca...et me coupe le toupet hyper court.. ensuite , je demande d'éclaicir les pointes . Elle l'a fait mais plus haut que demander . Je dit non je veux pas aussi haut ! Elle me dit qu'elle le fait pâlir de façon graduelle pour ça se "fondre" mieux . Bref , elle tâche tout mon chandail . Quand elle enlève la coloration , je suis blindé avec une grosse repousse brune !!! C'etais dégueulasse . Après elle m'offre de prendre du shampooing /revitalisant pour blonde qui sert à couper le jaune dans mes cheveux car j'avais les cheveux jaune . Elle me dit ça c'est pcq il faudrait que je ten refasse une ou deux autre tintures . (J'étais châtaine un peu plus brune du vrai châtain). Résultat : refus de coupée la longueur demander , teinture très très mal fait et un chandail qui n'est pu utilisable . C'etais l'assistance gérante ou la gerante (cheveux noir , long ). Déconseillé .

Great service and experience ! Went in to get my hair dyed with both highlights and low lights with a bit of colour and it turned out great. I felt comfortable the whole time and I enjoyed my time there. I will definitely be going back again when I need a touch up.

A young woman was asking me how I wanted my hair done and I told her just a little bit off the top- before I could get the chance to say I have cowlicks in the back she chopped it off. Now I can't style it in any way without both sides of the back of my head standing straight up (even with loads of hair product). Thanks so much for that!

They were VERY accommodating seeing as I didn't call ahead (covid policies most places) and I didn't do an online check in. Didn’t question my choice in haircut. I went from fairly long to extremely short! Erin was fantastic and enthusiastic and she listened to what I wanted! My mom and I went in to get a haircut and we're very disappointed in our experience. I had hair down to my lower back and I said I would like to have it below my shoulders maybe take 3-4 inches off but still long and thinned out she was ok and now my hair just barely touches my shoulders, I'm pretty upset about it. Also she was very rough brushing/combing my hair, was cutting random chunks out and kept smacking me in the forehead with the brush also my mom didn't get what she wanted after she started to talk to her stylist which was the manager and she said she doesn't even have her license to cut hair and never went to school for it. My mom walked out looking like the blonde guy off Wayne's World (google it) 100% never going back and I wouldn't recommend. I could of got my 8 year old to do a better job... 0 stars in my opinion.

We had couple bad experiences in Barrie South location, seems like they don't want work always eager to go home and never had time to take customer even 3 hours prior to close, same thing happen two weeks earlier when we there 2 hours earlier to close and same story again we decided to call Barrie North location and such a nice lady Courtney picked the phone she was happy to take us for hair cut, even we lives in Southern end of Barrie but was worth driving to Bayfield location, Courtney does amazing job of our hair cuts, she is professional, amazing service by Courtney, Way to go

I usually see Chris at this location, he's very good with my hair (which is thick and very hard to cut properly). I've always been pleased with his work. He's super friendly and chatty which makes it an enjoyable experience. Last week I needed a quick trim and Becky cut my hair. She was pleasant and polite and did a good job trimming the ends, fixing my bangs and thinning out my hair. I like the open concept and usually get seen fairly quickly if not right away. Comfortable atmosphere, clean, friendly staff. Definitely better than any service and cut I've had at First Choice. Prices are very reasonable and lots of parking since they are located in Walmart. You can continue running errands afterwards, very convenient.

I went there with my mother to do Permanent curl or firm but it doesnt end up well my mother's hair look burned a bit on the front and look terrible , and the back of my mother get really wet everytime she wash her hair, she doenst know how to treat the client well. The people were nice and the atmosphere was friendly but the haircut wasn’t good. I went in few days ago for an inch haircut and the woman cut off 3 inches. When it was time to blow dry(yes, I paid the extra fee) she left my hair half wet and frizzy. She did not apply any product whatsoever and left me embarrassed of my hair for the rest of the day. After I arrived home I had to rewash and dry my hair. This salon is not accommodating for those with curly hair. Thank you.

Unfortunately I can't give this a zero. They don't do what they're asked they never complete what is supposed to be done if you have a complaint you're wrong. Not only that they start to cut a 2 year olds hair the two year old is nervous and wants to sit on his parents lap and they get all upset and refused service and insults you and kick you out of the store. So inappropriate and unprofessional it is unbelievable the incompetence and inability to deal with a situation maturely especially with a child is beyond unacceptable. Stylist didn't bother to introduce herself. She was told four separate times by myself and two other people what length I wanted my hair. She proceeded to cut an extra 4 inches off of it. Overcharged me by claiming she styled it. The cut is hideous and in no way looks like it was done by a professional I cry every time I pass a mirror GO ELSEWHERE- There is a First Choice across the parking lot - they can't be any worse I left crying.

I had asked to shorten them a bit, but this hairdresser cut the tips with a RAZOR, (moreover without having moistened beforehand, while I have very thick hair) ... in 40 years, I n I had never seen the RAZOR technique ... I realized afterwards that she was careful not to show me with a mirror what she had done. Once arrived at the house, my husband told me that I did not have a staircase, but an escalator (a escalator with big steps) in my hair ... It seemed right if I did not move and especially if I did not bend my head. The next day, two days before Christmas, I managed to find another hairdresser who informed me that there were 1 to 2 inches longer than average. She had to shorten my hair to put it all right ... well despite myself, I find myself now with the medium hair. Thank you my ! She was alone that night! Where was the boss!?! (Original) Catastrophe... J'avais les cheveux longs en arrivant. J'avais demandé de les raccourcir un peu, or cette coiffeuse a coupé les pointes avec un RASOIR, (de surcroît sans les avoir humidifiés au préalable, alors que j'ai les cheveux très épais)... en 40 ans, je n'avais jamais vu la technique du RASOIR... J'ai réalisé après coup qu'elle s'était bien gardée de me montrer avec un miroir ce qu'elle avait fait. Une fois arrivée à la maison, mon mari m'a dit que je n'avais pas un escalier, mais un escalator (un escalier mécanique avec de grosses marches) dans mes cheveux... Cela paraissait droit si je ne bougeais pas et surtout si je ne penchais pas la tête. Le lendemain, soit deux jours avant Noël, j'ai réussi à trouver une autre coiffeuse qui m'a informée qu'il y avait des mêches de 1 à 2 pouces plus longues que la moyenne. Elle a dû raccourcir mes cheveux pour remettre le tout réellement droit... et bien malgré moi, je me retrouve maintenant avec les cheveux mi-longs. Merci M.....a ! Elle était seule ce soir là ! Où était le boss !?!

This review is about MAPLEVIEW Location. Wish I could give a 5 star review... the atmosphere was amazing, hair stylists were extremely welcoming and friendly. My biggest issue was the girl I had wouldn't listen, she just kinda did her own thing even after I showed her a picture of how I wanted it to be cut... even asked if we could shorten the front more and got asked 'what do you mean?' .. I now have a HORRIBLE haircut that I did it ask for because I was told it would 'shorten up and look different as it dried up' other then that this place was great and fair price. I was just discouraged.

This is my second time here and I must say I'm giving them a 5 star! Both times I was attended by Hilary and she's simply awesome. My first visit about 2 months back for a cut and she did it just the way I want it. I only had a wash and blow dry today and she's very attentive to it too. I will be back for my next hair cut again!

I came across this place a couple of years ago now. The price I felt was really good and thought I would give it a go. We had a lovely lady called Monica and had her every time I come here. Monica is amazing, she does exactly what you ask for and doesn't take all day to do it. She is very knowledgable and willing to assist with anything she can. I have made appointments last minute and never had to wait. When I have booked in advance, again never had to wait. I think the bad reviews are not warranted. I have been using this place for 2 years and never been disappointed. I will keep using this place and Monica despite living in Canmore. Worth the drive. Def RECCOMMEND.

Today was the second time I made an appointment and when I arrived was told that I would have to wait. The first time it was an hour, today it was 3 hours. I was told someone called in sick. Does that constitute me going home and have drive back for 3 hours later. Needless to say I will never avail your services again. Oh and by the way the elderly lady in front of me had a appointment 1/2 hour before me they gave her my appointment as she was told to go away and come back in 1/2 hour. Why was I told 3 hours? Her husband told me she too has been delayed by 1/2 to 45 minute in the past. What is the point of booking appointment?
