I will never go back to this salon! HORRIBLE!! They charge me $10 extra on top of the topmost listed price for lady's cut; their reason was that I cut from long (chest length) to short (above shoulder) and they call it "reshaping" so I needed to pay more. Absolutely ridiculous! I thought there were reasons why lady's cut is more expensive than men's cut, and now they charge me extra on top of the listed price!! Also, the hairdresser likes to hard-sell their products and other expensive service / treatment. It was very annoying and unprofessional!

Tried this salon over a year ago as there were so many great reviews on Google. The prices are very reasonable and the salon itself was very lovely inside. My first haircut was ok, nothing exceptional. I had asked for it to be styled as I was going to a wedding. It was styled, however my hair wasn't fully dry when the stylist used the curling iron. My hair turned out ok and since I mostly do trims I figured I would try them again. The second time I went the stylist told me my hair was thinning and I had bald spots (which she pointed out all over my head). She said that if I plan to have kids it will get even worse. She then said that I need to use professional shampoo, that would help. When I went to pay I felt very pressured to buy the shampoo. I also started feeling self conscious. I agreed to buy it and was told everything was 25% off. When they rang it through they said actually this one is only 20% off, do you still want it? It will really help. Because I was feeling so self conscious I decided to buy it. When I got home I researched thinning hair and found that many things can cause it including illness, diet, hormones and stress. Most of the time it's temporary and your hair will come back in over time. The stylist never mentioned any of these factors to me. It was only my second time there, had I been a regular client and they repeatedly noticed thinness in my hair I would understand recommending the product. Instead I feel like they just preyed on an insecurity to push product and make money. And to top it off I get a headache every time I use the products. I stopped using the shampoo and my hair has become less thin as there were other elements causing the thinning. Won't be back to this salon, it's too bad, I had hoped it would live up to the reviews.

This was my first time getting a perm, and Tysha was absolutely AMAZING! She knew exactly what to do, and gave me tips on how to maintain my hair, what products to use and not use, how to care for the perm, especially because my hair has had some damaged dry ends from heat tools. I even had uneven hair on the sides because i used to trim it by myself from quarantine, but Tysha knew how to fix it and cleaned ALL of it really nice. If you are an asian male with medium length hair looking for a korean perm, I would definitely recommend this place! +points for cute dog and free coffee, would go here again. definitely worth the price, would tip much more if i wasnt limited financially haha. attached are some before and after pics

Be careful with the 5 star reviews! I fell for it. I interviewed the hairstylist prior to my cut. Took into consideration her claims of experience. Was VERY careful explaining what I wanted. I received the worst haircut ever at gallery t salon. The stylist sped through with her thinning scissors, removed half my hair , didn’t section or check for balance. I watched 3 inch length gaps of hair fall off. All this without notifying me ( I asked for a trim). My hair is lob sided. There’s holes from missing hair. It will take me months to grow it back. Months!!!! I would just say, take into consideration from what decade hair salons brag about their accolades. The owner offered me to come back and look at my hair. NO WAY!!!!!

Though no business ever gets 100% customer satisfaction, her nearly perfect score clearly shows 'G.T' is the place you must try. For years, I bounced from one hair salon to another in search of 'THE PLACE' and then, I found Tysha! For me, listening rather than talking is the most important customer service skill. Tysha focuses on listening to your needs and creates a customized haircut for you. Because she is skilled & experienced, she has the ability to deliver quick & awesome haircut which we, as busy Calgarians can appreciate. When I'm leaving G.T, I am happy with the time it took, I'm happy with the experience, and most of all, I'm happy with my haircut. Isn't that what we are all looking for? I didn't care too much about who had cut my hair until I came and got it done with Tysha. First meeting she asked lots of questions, cut, dried to check and cut again and repeated until it was perfect. Now, I do not go to anyone else. Cuts are quick and perfect each time now that she knows me. Staff are always amazing, friendly and conversive. Highly recommended.

Was such a pleasant experience, was taken awesome a walk in on a pretty busy tuesday after noon. The vibe here is wonderful, nothing pretentious or snooty about this place. I have been a regular client of Katherine’s for almost a year - after my service today I received a phone call from Gee one of the co- owners?? Manager of the shop - communicated that I needed to stop making negative comments about - I think he mentioned my bangs being cut? And that I made their other clients uncomfortable? I was quite confused by this because my only comment to my stylist today was that my bangs needed to be trimmed because I was getting mascara on them - so I am super confused but won’t be returning and as I have a family member that is a client as well I have advised her of this bizarre encounter.

I've had Tysha cutting and coloring my hair for years now, after being recommended by a friend. Growing up in Calgary, I've tried many salons and hair stylists whom I have never been satisfied with until I met Tysha. With her, a trim is a trim, a new style is a new style. She won't butcher my hair and give me a totally different cut if I only ask for a trim. If she does have a suggestion, she will ask you first and explain why she thinks it would be a nice change - I've let her do it every time and have never been disappointed (she has great taste, knows what is practical, and knows what looks good on who). She keeps up with trends and she knows the difference between Asian hair and non-Asian hair and cuts/treats it accordingly. My boyfriend also gets his hair cut by her and it always looks fantastic and trendy. I love Tysha and her new salon and have recommended her to friends and family.

I've been going to Gallery T for over a year now. Everyone there are very friendly and Tysha does a great job in hair colouring. I went from super dark hair to a bright and vibrant colour, and she teaches you how to maintain it to make the colour last longer. My hair still looks healthy from all the treatment done to it. First time I went to gallery t due to fix the highlights that were done by another hairdresser who left me with half yellow half beige highlights all over my hair. Tysha did an amazing job by bringing my hair back to normal and actually making it even prettier as he suggested to use a toner at the end creating more of a natural look. Ever since I'm going to her and am super happy with my hair color! she knows how to make that perfect highlights (not yellow!) and I prefer the regular "old fashion" weave technique for my hair. Just make sure you tell her exactly what you want. And if you are doing highlights every 3 months like I do- don't miss on special treatment- totally worth the extra money as it saves your hair! Overall, try it you will love it!

I have only recently discovered this hidden gem and I am glad I did! When I went in Katherine was ready to help me right away, offering me tea as soon as I was comfortably seated in her chair. She was able to complete a full head of foils, giving me the perfect shade of blonde which I had been unable to achieve elsewhere in Calgary. To finish up, Katherine gave me an excellent haircut that worked with my hair-type to make it look thick and healthy which is not easy since my hair is thin. When I left my hair was the soft and manageable! Katherine also listened to my hair goals, giving me excellent advice on how to care for my hair to ensure I can achieve long healthy hair. Needlessly to say, I will be returning there for all of my future hair care!

My mom and I have been going to Tysha for years. I have had my hair every colour and Tysha has a way with making it look vibrant and healthy. I have dark hair and it is very hard to put colour in because you have to bleach it but she does an amazing job every time. My mom has cuts and colour done and has never had any complaints. Picked this salon based on the raving reviews they have online and have high hopes before coming in for the first time to this salon; but sometimes you can't really trust words on your screen until you are there for the experience. I phoned in and asked for a "Senior Stylist", I got Carolina. I asked for a French Bob, showed a couple of photos thinking with her experiences since she is a "senior stylist" she would know the cut. I ended up with uneven, short,choppy layers, that after she blow dried my hair looked like a have a helmet on. My hair is so hard to style now and because of how she cut it my hair is just a mess, had to put tons of product OR put a Hat On just to hide the imperfections. Truly a bad experience.

Went to Gallery T 4 times for men's haircuts. First time got a full on haircut, while somewhat quick (15-20 minutes), it was decent. Second time, another full haircut which again was pretty quick. Third time, I went to get a trim around the sides and back, was in and out in 10 minutes, but got charged full price. Fourth time, got a trim again around the sides and back. Again, I was out of the salon within 10 minutes and got charged full price as if it was a full haircut. The service is good, and Tysha is fairly skilled; however, I don't think she is so amazing that it is fair to charge $35 ($38-40 with tips) for a haircut that is done in 15 minutes. More so, I especially do not feel it is fair to charge full price for a trim that took 10 minutes or less. I feel they try to make a connection to the clients, but they couldn't even remember my name. Worst, Tysha couldn't remember something simple that I request every time I visit. I went there in 1 month intervals, which I would assume isn't so long that you would forget a clients name. On one of my visits, Tysha forgot I booked an appointment and apparently I was the last customer. I felt as if she rushed the haircut so she could leave the salon earlier. (I watched them turn off the lights and close the store as I left) While she may be skilled, I do not believe the amount of time and effort spent on the haircut is worth the price.

“Hollywood Glamour meets Affordable pricing” - Tysha, the owner of the salon as well as the hairstylist, is a creative genius! Her passion and artistry is clearly displayed not just in her hair cutting but also the way she decorated her salon! And this salon is not just about pretty aesthetics (although it’s Instagram perfect), It’s equally commendable for the service they provide! From reception, to washing my hair, to getting a haircut - everything about the experience is Hollywood glamour! I have been to many high end salons and I can say it with confidence, I don’t think I would ever get this unprecedented men’s haircut experience for $35! I am going to go again for sure!!

Wow! Very impressed . We saw Tysha and my daughter got the 'big cut' from really long hair to around shoulder length and she was not only quick but her experience really showed. Her technique really demonstrated her talent for hair artistry. Plus as everyone has mentioned the dog is the cutest friendliest dog ever. Tysha, the owner and stylist is AMAZING, at first she made sure she understood what I was wanting with my style and started. She is fast and very professional, she is easy to talk to and seemed genuinely interested in me. I can honestly say that it is rare; very rare that I leave a hair salon happy with my cut. I’m not really bothered by bad haircuts because hey it’s hair and it will grow back. However, I can’t seem to get over this one. I’ve never experienced a hairstylist who cannot cut bangs. Katherine was pleasant enough as a person but she cut my bangs very short and crooked despite me asking her to correct them. She tried and when they were still crooked, she proceeded to blame my cowlick for being the reason. Shouldn’t a hairstylist be able to work around that? Additionally she gave me incorrect information about the shampoo I was using. When I asked a friend who works in the industry if that advice was accurate, she said it was incredibly uninformaed and ignorant. The salon though was really nice and had reasonable prices compared to everywhere else in Calgary. Its unfortunate that it didn’t work out for me. I will not be returning. Despite the many reviews which spoke about how great Katherine is, I’m incredibly disappointed by my experience.

I got a haircut and a perm here in 2018 and I was very happy with the service I recieved! I was hoping to perm my longer hair at that time but the lower 1/3 of my hair was bleached in 2017 which I coloured back to my normal black hair. I only wanted to remove the damaged bleached hair but the stylist cut my hair above shoulder length! At first I was freaked out, but I chose to wait until I get it permed and see what it would look like. After I got my perm, I was very happy with the perm and the haircut! I usually hate having short hair because I end up looking like Dora the Explorer but the perm made it look sooo much better! They also suggester some shampoo and conditioner that would help with my hair, but a lot of my hair fell out from the shampoo and conditioner. I also got weird bumps on my scalp from them (I think I got an allergic reaction) but it's okay now my hair has grown back since. Also, the perm didn't last as long as I had hoped, but I still loved it nonetheless.

She also fixed a botched hair job that was done elsewhere. They are upfront with their very reasonable prices and the salon is kept very clean, coffee and tea are always offered and Tysha & Gee are super kind and great to chat with. After reading rave reviews, I decided to trust tysha with my elbow length hair. I wanted long layers and a couple of inches taken off the bottom and I showed a photo of the long hairstyle so that there was no confusion. Tysha was running behind and with another customer so before my hair was washed (by someone else), tysha took my hair in her fist and in 5 seconds flat she chopped 5-6 inches off the ends and then ran to finish her other client. Eek!!! What was I to do?? I stared at my hair on the floor. I was mortified and speechless and shocked. My inner voice kept saying “stay calm” and “don’t cry over spilled milk” and so that is what i did. Tysha was a nice person and finished off my haircut (which at this point I had no choice but to go with it). I was charged the “long hair” premium of $10 (which I was aware of) even though the guy collecting my money called it “special services” fee because my hair was clearly not long anymore. I initially rated this place as a 3 but have since increased my star rating to a 4 because though my haircut is not the length that I was expecting, my haircut is actually a good cut. Tysha did an amazing job of the layers and my hair does look good. She knows how to cut hair well and knows what she is doing!!

If you are a blonde in Calgary you may know it's quite a challenge finding someone who knows what they are doing and doesn't kill your hair. Insert Tysha here. This past visit to the salon was my third visit and again am not disappointed! Tysha recommended we make the color a bit more platinum for the summer fun. She said that Ph bonder special treatment prevent the hair from becoming damaged, which was true because we had to bleach my entire hair. She is an awesome person and stylist and a visionary. In fact I've recommended her to one of my girlfriends to use her and she did an excellent job. We've been blonde and now platinum!! She is always honest with me on what is realistic for my hair and works well with color or a style I like. Seeing anyone else would be a mistake.

I’ve gone here a couple times last year and overall the cuts are done ok. They are friendly and you can expect service to be very fast, if you’re looking to feel pampered for an hour this is not the place. The only thing is it always ends up shorter than what I want, even after I make it clear. I don’t know if it’s language barrier or something.. and my bangs look terrible after, uneven and always much too short. I showed pictures to my friends and they all are afraid to come here now. I fix it at home.
