I have been seeing Claire since I moved to NL and absolutely love her cuts. She listens to what you want, and she cares about your hair, and she is funny! The salon is really cute and has a more relaxed vibe compared to other salons I have been to in major cities.

I had a wonderful experience at Sound Spa. It was super easy to book an appointment for a massage, I even got an appointment less than 24 hours from my booking time! The atmosphere was great as was the customer service and the massage! Thanks Sound Spa!

The staff and experience were very nice but it's extremely overpriced. I booked a trim and it automatically included a wash (which I found out only when I got there) and cost about $80.00.

Unprofessional and extremely rude. I booked an appointment 2 weeks ago because I’m in desperate need for a touch up. I work from 6:30am-1:30pm, and I work pretty close so I booked my appointment for 2pm. My appointment was scheduled for tomorrow, they just called me to ask me to come in for 1pm. I expressed that I work until 1:30pm so that isn’t possible. They told me I had to come in at 1pm or to reschedule, or if I wanted half of my hair done I could still come in at 2pm. This would be fine if I was given the proper notice, they had 2 full weeks to tell me 2pm doesn’t work. And in fact didn’t even bother to even mutter a ‘sorry’. I hate to look like a ‘Karen’ but this is not how you run a professional business. Like I said if I was given the proper notice it would have been fine but no, they waited one whole day before my appointment to call. I’m completely appalled.

Decent work. HORRIBLY overpriced. Charged me $250 for a few highlights in my hair (very short) that took maybe 30 minutes of actual work. My stylist spent most of her time having a separate conversation with her co-workers, barely interacting with me. Highly recommend against ever going here if you are even remotely budget conscious or enjoy a conversation with your stylist. I'm appalled at how deceptive and predatory these people are with their pricing. Will not be returning.

Best haircut I ever received. Speaking as a pretty low maintenance kind of guy, I went in looking for a quick buzz cut. The result was exactly what I needed and so much more. The space itself is well lit, aptly decorated and super welcoming. While I'm sure that most men in my demographic might think twice before going to a spot that proudly displays itself as a salon and spa, but they couldn't be doing themselves a greater injustice. The staff were knowledgeable, polite, and extremely accommodating. I was turned away from two other barber shops prior to my trip to Sound Salon because I didn't book an appointment. The irony in this situation is that I got a much better experience without an appointment than I would have anywhere else. Even after the haircut itself was complete, there was a full ten minutes of pampering that made me feel like royalty. From the after-shave wash to the part when they wrapped my ENTIRE head in hot towels, the intricate process of giving me the best outcome was a joy to experience; especially coming from years of attending your run of the mill barbershop. It's worth nothing that this spot is a little pricy, but believe me when I say that you get what you pay for. The worst part about this whole thing is trying to think of a way to tell my regular barber why I won't be coming back. You gotta check this place out.

I went there for the first time back in the summer (fully intend on coming back for this next cut) after my former hairdresser decided to change careers and the salon I went to before switching to her closed permanently. Maybe a little pricey, though it's definitely worth it not only for the end result, cleaner products and super friendly staff, but also for the bit of knowledge I gained in how to make the most of my wavy/curly hair after a lifetime of making do with some frumpy hair days and other common hair issues in between. Definitely recommend Nicole, she was super polite and informative as a fellow curly-haired girl!

Absolutely great Salon! Staff is awesome. I went to Kelsey for a cut and balayage, she did an awesome job on both and was super friendly. I'm blonde and very picky and very happy with both. This was my first visit here and I will definitely be going back to her. Highly recommend her!!!

I don't know how but every time I go to Sound I have a different person cut my hair and everytime it is AMAZING. Staff are well trained. A bit pricey (around $60ish for a womens cut) but this is the only place I go for a haircut now!

Got a junior stylist, who wasn’t comfortable doing bangs yet, and she asked a senior staff member to do it for her. No big deal. Then when the haircut proceeds, I only feel a few snips, but didn’t think anything of it. Stylist starts to style my hair, and I didn’t think much of it and gave them full faith. When I got home and put on my glasses, I saw my bangs were TERRIBLE. I went to First Choice to get them fixed, and the stylist there asked me if I had cut my bangs myself! I told her that I had just come from another salon. She inspected the rest of my hair to point out to me that my hair WASN’T EVEN CUT. She fixed me up, thank god. I emailed and called Sound about a refund, and they wanted to get me in to get it fixed—but I had already gotten it fixed somewhere else. They refused to give me a refund and said there was nothing else they could do. Would you go back to a business where the senior staff--who is training other employees--royally ruined your bangs? And I would like to point out, that I paid full price for a haircut that I didn’t even get! Lesson learned. Would not recommend. Will never go there again.

The stylist was really distracted while cutting my hair, talking to coworkers, and didn't pay any attention to my haircut. It felt like she didn't want to be there or I was taking her off her break (despite me booking the appointment in advance). She didn't compare the length as she cut different sections until the very end, and sides were about 3/4 of an inch off. Also, my hair was too long for her to properly hold it up, so it looked like she was just guessing (and obviously not well). She hastily trimmed one side to match, but it's still really off. I have to go pay someone else to correct the mistake.
