I am very attached to my hair and very hesitant to let anyone cut. Unfortunately my 2 children have inherited that trait. But the 3 of us went to see Tiara over the holidays and we all walked out of there very pleased with our new cuts and styles. Our stylist was great with my children making them feel very special and pampered. She was confident and super friendly and they were very comfortable with her and were so proud of their new doos! Thank you so much Tiara and Chatters for an experience they'll never forget....until they come back next time that is!!

Had my hair coloured today and I love the colour! The first couple hours were alright, the stylists English wasn’t very good, and he didn’t talk very much which made me feel a little uncomfortable. But he seemed to pay attention to detail. Although the only thing I negatively would have to say is that I wish he was more gentle with my hair. Despite me saying “ow” or “ouch” countless times, My entire scalp is throbbing from how hard he would pull my hair when doing a little section of dye or section it off with the dye in it. I do understand it’s difficult to dye hair, but I only wish he was more gentle.

I would %100 recommend Vikki if you're going in for a long hair trim - She was super helpful and really knowledgeable about all the products and even taught me a few things I could do to help the health of my hair while using heat. As Someone with Major Anxiety it took a lot for me to go in there and book the appointment, Vikki made me feel super comfortable and she was also really nice and friendly. I'm will be going back to get dye my hair white - which is a extremely hard process and I will post another review once I get that done ^^

I have only gone to one hairdresser for my whole life and she was the only one I've trusted with my hair so I was a little nervous for someone else to cut my hair. I had an appointment with Shaina and she was AMAZING. She was really sweet and did such a great job of cutting and styling my hair (I got 10 inches cut off and styled into a bob) and the environment and other employees are really nice. Definitely coming back, and recommend this salon. :)

I have been to the Barrie South End location two times now to see Derek. I am a very particular person when it comes to my hair as it is very curly. I also change my mind on the cut and colour very often so I need someone that will do what's best for my hair with what I'm looking for. They chemically burned my sister's ear (permanent damage) when she got her hair bleached and dyed a couple of years ago, they almost refused to even refund the money. Customer service after the fact was like pulling teeth. To be fair this review is coming late (everyone thinking if going here deserves fair warning though), perhaps things have changed since.

Everyone in our family goes here, and we'd all recommend it! Enthusiastically! Ethan is an absolute professional and has always been up to our challenges. From cutting kiddo's shoulder length hair to a perfect pixie, correcting our youngest's experimental DIY haircut (eek!), to highlights for my wife and effortlessly handling "the usual" for me each time. One thing he excels at, though, is making a haircut look perfect on Day 1 but still look great after 6-7 weeks. I'd think this may mostly apply to short styles, but maybe not. I always thought a haircut needed 1 week to "grow into itself" and look right, and things would start looking out of shape by week 5. My haircuts aren't like that anymore and my hair keeps the right shape and style no matter the day. I just love that. Ethan always greets us with a big smile and felt like a friend after 1 visit. In fact, all the staff are this way! I see no reason to go anywhere else!

Three years ago, I called Chatters after work and was praying that Bryan or Kiersten had an opening. I had one of those days where I just needed immediate hair therapy. Bryan and Kiersten were both fully booked and highly recommended Lisa. Initially hesitant to go with a different stylist (silly but true), I sat in Lisa’s chair and she’s been my stylist and colourist eversince. I love her precision and that she knows her stuff but most of all, I love that she knows my hair better than I know it. After I picked my jaw up off the ground they proceeded to tell me they have no pricing for other than a full service. This was equivalent to a bang trim, and they charged me $48. I am still shocked.

My sister went into this location looking for a straightener. While reaching for one, she accidentally dropped a box off the shelf. Her & I instantly cleaned up the pieces (nothing was broke; the items had just fallen out). The lady working, who was occupied with another customer at the time, walked over & grabbed the pieces from my hands. We both apologized & she replied “yeah, well now I have to put it back together so here” in a snobby tone. My sister purchased her item & left it tears! I have very thick and relatively long hair which I get blonde highlights put in. It usually takes a long time and no salon has ever done it right except Chatters in Barrie. I booked online with Shaina, having read reviews about other people who have gone in with their long hair to be cut, and were happy with Shaina’s results, I felt confident that I could trust her. I came in with almost 2 feet of hair, a little apprehensive to be getting a drastic change, but one which was much needed. Shaina communicated with me the entire time, and answered all of my questions and requests. I left with about a foot less of hair, feeling lighter and fresh! I highly recommend Shaina for anyone nervous about cutting their long locks :)

I came in to pick up a lightening kit to lighten my current blonde shade. I don't usually shop here as I have a preferred hair product store that was closed at the time I went. I had one of the staff ask me if I needed any help, so I said yes and asked her which of the kits she recommended to going another step lighter blonde as I have never used any of their brands before. She told me she couldn't share any information for liability reasons. I understand that doing hair colour at home is a risk that is upon myself, but I was disappointed that she couldn't say anything at all about any of their hair colour products. I walked in knowing nothing about the brands they carry, hoping to have someone suggest something. If you aren't allowed to provide information in regards to the colouring products, don't sell them. Disappointed and won't be returning here.

My first time at a Chatters ever and it was a very wonderful experience! I typically don't go to chains, assuming that I would get better service at a smaller boutique style hair salon. I've moved multiple times over the last few years and have had many hairstylists, but have yet to find one I've been satisfied with. Katharine was great, I booked with her based on all of the positive reviews. Great service, great cut, great conversation, good location, good hours, easy parking. Looking forward to being back again! She really cares and is passionate about her work. I have never paid as much for a haircut as I did at Chatters, nor have I been so dissatisfied. My hair is fried from the colour, cut is sub-par at best, when the stylist messed up the colour they handed me off to another stylist to finish the balayage look I had asked for, and charged me for the extra toner. My hair has never looked this bad or been in such bad condition post leaving a salon. I will not be going back and will NOT recommend this place for healthy colour whatsoever.

I do not recommend going here. The one in Calgary Beacon Hill is great! The staff were friendly here. Unfortunately I am very displeased with what a visit here costs. After reviewing my boyfriends bill (he had paid) I noticed that we were charged over $80 for a men's cut and a women's trim (without a wash or a style). I had asked for layers and merely received a trim and then they used the scissors to make sure my ends were not all one length. All this was done before my boyfriends hair was done. I have never in my life had a haircut this fast. After calling back the next day to speak to the manager, I was told he was unavailable and the lady took a message. It has now been a week and I have yet to hear from anyone. Very unimpressed with this situation and the fact that no one could be bothered to get back to me.

Story time. This momma here decided to try and cut his hair again from doing great the first time to completely messing it up the second time. My sons hair was long, wavy and in his face, as well my son hates to have his hair touched or cut. Nothing distracts him, he will cry and move his head every which way he can but i didnt want it buzzed either. So we decided to book Here as previous comments made it sound perfect for our boy. I called and explained everything the lady on the phone was very helpful, respectful, and understanding. We got booked with Sara. She was very patient, friendly and funny even though my child cried and moved his head she went with him. She made it work, she was fantastic. When she washed my hair she kept hitting the left side of my head against the bowl. I might as well have gone to supercuts. I won't be going back. This experience sucked.

I visited Chatters hair salon today with my 2.5 year to get his second hair cut. I called a few places to ask questions in regards to procedures etc. The first two places made me feel like they did not want the business. Then I called Chatters and I was blown away from the moment I called. The receptionist explained everything and made me feel so comfortable about coming there. She was friendly, knowledgeable and outgoing. I made an appointment for my son and the moment we walked in the door everyone there made us feel welcome and safe. The place is very clean and the staff were incredible. Nicole cut my sons hair and she was very friendly and great with my son. She made us feel comfortable and my son sat in his chair and had his hair cut. It has been a very longtime since I have received this type of customer service. I rarely take the time to write a review because customer service is rare or nonexistent in our society today. Thank you Chatters for making our hair cut experience one we will always remember.

"Nothing they can do about it, must be part of their training process". My girlfriend went into the Bayfield location and got a terrible hair cut. She booked an appointment to have it fixed the next day, only to find out the appointment was never made. After speaking with the owner Brian, he agreed it was a bad cut and tried his best to fix it, short of shaving her head. The color and highlights he did, which looks great, but cost an additional $120. We requested to have the initial cut price of $56 refunded, just to be told there is nothing they can do about that. If you are looking for an over priced cut at your own risk, Chatters is your place.

Great salon! I have been going here for awhile now after my hair was destroyed by another salon. I will now never go anywhere else. They have great prices and a large variety of product. I even bring my kids here. My son is very squirmy being a toddler and i must say Lisa is amazing at getting his hair absolutely perfect and cut quickly! Brian does my hair and he puts a lot of work and passion into it. I can tell he loves doing this work as my hair has never been better. The worst place to ever cut your hair. I went there with Hip long hair and asked for Layers they chopped my hair off to shoulder length Straight. Being new to the area, chatters was highly recommended. Upon making my appointment, they told me I would be with an apprentice. I assumed working in an upscale salon, she would be qualified. I wanted a simple pixie. Another stylist was continually advising her what to do. She was unsure of herself and appeared not to know what to do. The young lady whom did not complete what I requested for the appointment not only didn’t cover my roots with colour, she picked at which layer she wished to cut and chopped whatever length suited her. I have never in my life been to this enablement and been so disappointed. Not only was the price in full, I now have to go to MY LADY and get her to fix this.

I am happy to say that this was not the case with my first haircut at Chatters with Nathalie. She really did an amazing job on my hair. Hi I was in the Bayfield location near the end of August/beginning of September and I had the best experience! I’m normally not one who likes to be bothered while shopping but I was approached by Katie and she changed my view completely. She listened to what I needed and was super empathetic towards my current situation. She didn’t pressure me into buying anything. She came up with a whole new hair care routine for me (keeping my needs in mind). It was busy in the store that day and she managed to help me and someone else without causing the customer to feel ignored. Overall I love what I purchased and we stayed in my budget. My hair has gotten so much healthier and I just wanted to write in and let ya’ll know you have an amazing employee. Everyone was super friendly & my cash out was quick. Don't Book Online!! Went in for a colour and the second I showed Sabrina the colour I wanted she said "I don't have time for that," because my hair was dark and it would need to be lightened before coloured (which is usually a given and included in the time slot at other salons I've been to), there was no option to book a double colour online and when i explained that her answer was, "yah our online booking sucks". Whole attitude screamed that she couldn't care less and offered to do half the job and MAYBE be able to pass me off to someone else. Incredibly disappointed in the lack of customer service and the overall attitude of the stylist.
