The man who runs this barber shop is fantastic. I started going here in 2010 when I lived down on 76th ave during my university days. I left Edmonton for a few years and just went back to XL barber shop recently. It's still fantastic prices and a great man to talk with while he cuts your hair. Anytime I'm in Edmonton, I will always make a trip here to get my hair cut, even if it is not close to my house. So, all in all, got my hair cut here for 6 years, and I'm still going back again and again.

I've been a satisfied customer of the XL Barber Shop for many years. Initially, I lived nearby. I'm still a regular patron, although 3 moves have taken me farther away. There are other shops closer to where I live now, but none come close in quality. The owner of XL gives great haircuts at a very reasonable price, and he's a great guy, friendly and helpful. He can do different styles, depending on your request or the season, but they all look good. And that's why I keep going back - I always get a great haircut, and I always get a friendly, warm reception. There are very few barber shops I know of that compare well with XL. Give him a try - you won't regret it.

This is my regular barber. Recommended. If you're looking for a fru fru hair salon, this is NOT the place for you so don't score them low because YOU went to the wrong place. This is, as is clear by the name, a Barber Shop. If you want an old school barber to give you a quality haircut, this is the place to go. Fast, inexpensive, decent quality barber haircuts are the service provided here. FYI, no debit machine. Bring cash.

very quick. 5 min. $17 with beard trim. not the place to go if your looking to get pampered at all. Still left feeling and looking good, but I always feel and look good so that isn't saying much. I still tipped like $5 though. but normally i tip like $30 - $40.

It feels pleasant to find a very affordable but quality barber shop like this in the central part of the city. Despite the low cost, the barber does his magic with no BS and treats his customers as real humans who have free will. I'm glad I checked this one out first and discovered this hidden gem in the urban core.

Really nice barber. Good price. Good haircut. I don't think he has a debit machine, so bring cash. It's small things that make a huge difference. I mentioned I had my sisters wedding to go to about 2 weeks from my haircut. He offered to trim and tigthen up back neck hair closer to the event, free of charge.

Not a Barber I would go to again. Didn't get what I asked for and when asked if he used a straight razor he said "nobody uses that anymore" then asked him to style it he three some gel in my hair and ruffled my hair and sent me away. Never again.

The guy who cut my hair was nice and all, but he was hard to understand and just did his thing without really asking me what I wanted. I was in an out within 5 minutes. I ended up with one sideburn that was unevenly cut all the way to the top of my ear, while the other side was left normal. This was just one of the many problems. I've never received a haircut this bad in my life, and for $14 you can easily find someone better. Well, looks like I'll be wearing a hat for the next couple of weeks!
