What a wonderful experience! I was greeted by Josée at the front desk and knew I was in the best hands immediately. The salon is wonderfully set up to comply with health regulations while still keeping it classy and comforting. Jaylene made me feel right at ease with her knowledge and immediate understanding of what I wanted to do with my hair - she also gives the BEST scalp massages! between the light coconut scent of their products, to the music and relaxation I shut my eyes and felt like I was on a tropical getaway. I left there running my hands through my hair and smiling with the amazing cut and style she gave me! Big big thank yous to Jaylene and staff!! ????????

When I deigned to ask how highlights and a haircut cost nearly $400 (before tip), I was told to do my research, asked if I’d previously gotten my hair done “in someone’s basement,” then informed that they were there to give me “an education” on what "high-end" services cost. Well, lesson indeed learned. (I’d also point out that their price for colour doesn’t include toner, which is sort of like selling a car then charging extra for the steering wheel. But what do I know? I’m just a pleb.) Based on their previous responses to startlingly similar reviews, I fully expect them to take zero accountability for this (recorded) exchange, and likely attack me for it; that’s fine. They clearly don’t need my business, or yours.

Hands down the best stylists in Edmonton! The ambience is lovely. The stylists are incredibly kind and more importantly brilliant at their job. My stylist is Danny. He is super talented and delivers perfection evey time. I can't recommend enough! When I first visited Soho I didn't even know what I wanted to do with my hair, I was depressed and desperately needed a change. What Danny recommended was amazing and I have been rocking it eversince.

Very welcoming staff on arrival. The salon is clean, modern and has complimentary lighting. All the staff is very well put together with great style and a polished appearance. Ashley was the hair stylist who cut my hair today. She is extremely positive, friendly and highly knowledgeable of advanced techniques. My consultation, hair cut and style was not rushed and I left with a great cut that makes me look about 10 years younger. I was very impressed.

I just moved from Ontario and I have been looking for a new salon to go to, safe to say I found it! I had a bad hair experience from a stylist in Ontario who had burned 14 inches of my hair off, I came in with terrible fried hair that was a greenish hue because I tried to put brown box dye over it. The stylist Amanda was AMAZING, she managed to get all of the green out & give me a haircut that made me get my confidence back. She was really nice & easy to talk to, I think she has a lot of talent because she fixed the mess I walked in with. I was so happy with her work that I already have another appointment booked. 10/10 would recommend both Amanda & the salon.

We are so fortunate to have a Salon of this caliber in Edmonton and in the Southwest to boot! I have tried many of the stylists since I started going to Soho and they are ALL very knowledgeable, friendly and talented. As a self professed hair snob I must admit I’ve never left the salon unhappy and I always have my next couple of appointments booked! Carole does an amazing job keeping her staff up to date with all the latest in training and education. 10/10 in my book!

I've been going to Soho since its opened, and I've been seeing Carol for over 10 years. Every time I leave Soho, I feel absolutely FABULOUS. Carol takes her time, she tries new techniques she's learned and never fails to impress me. I highly recommend Soho, all their stylists are incredible, and the Salon is so BEAUTIFUL!

This was my first visit to Soho and definitely wont be my last! Melodee was amazing!! She listened to my ideas about the cut I wanted for my hair and then gave me her input and suggestions and together we created a cut that was exactly what I wanted. She was super knowledgeable about the products that would work well so that I could create the same look at home. Thanks Melodee!! I would definitely recommend this place!

I hate to leave negative reviews but this one is necessary. About two weeks ago my friend came in to this establishment for a root retouching and cut. She walked out happy came home liking her hair but the days to follow it became more clear that she was upset with it. The colour of her roots seemed to be lighter or fading after the first wash and her cut was uneven. I told her to call but she was to embarrassed to complain she said the guy was sweet and young she did not want him to get in trouble. For the rest of the week she wore a hat to cover the roots and she had to go to another salon had to take a day off work to get it fixed. They told her this is not the first time they have heard this about this particular salon she also said they overcharge people making them think they are a better “quality salon” I think this message should help others when thinking of coming to this establishment. Staff seem nice but do not do the best job you can find a cheaper and better quality salon. Save yourself from two salon visits. Hope this review along with all other reviews have helped your decision.

I was introduced to Soho a few years ago upon Danny transferring to the salon. I had absolutely no complaints about the place until I had to very unexpectedly cancel my appointment. I understand the cancellation policy and I get it that hairstylist depend on clients for income. My complaint is with how it was all handled. As a business owner myself, I feel this criticism is necessary for the Soho hair team to learn and grow from this. Life happens, stuff happens, and I really don't think anyone is exempt from this. The second I had to cancel my appointment (and keep in mind I was not dropping off the face of the earth - I was planning on rescheduling), I was IMMEDIATELY informed of the cancellation fee. For a more professional customer service, perhaps a better way to approach people when this happens is to be a bit more empathetic and considerate. Something like, "I am sorry to hear you have to cancel, I hope everything is okay". And then proceed with the cancellation fee stuff. It's all in the tone, and the way you speak to people which sometimes makes all the difference in the world. Hope this criticism will become a learning opportunity. And BTW.. Soho Hair hit the jackpot when Danny came on board. All the best!

My hair stylist Christine is so amazing, she knows exactly what I like and does an excellent job. I had the best haircut that I’ve ever had here. I have very curly hair and Chad did such a great job! He and the owner were very personable and gave me tips and tricks to style my own curls. It was super helpful and a very pleasant experience. I did not feel rushed at all and Chad took great care while cutting my hair to ensure that it was cut properly and evenly. I left extremely pleased. It was excellent service. I’ll definitely be back!

Carole and everyone at Soho is world class. You can feel the passion they have for cutting hair and the salon experience. The salon is amazing with every detail carefully crafted and thought out. I have been a client of Soho for approx the last 10 years .I feel very comfortable seeing any of the stylists at the salon. Any time I was not ???? not satisfied with a colour or highlights ( 1 maybe 2 times in 10 years ) , They have gone out of their way to change it to my satisfaction.

I’ve been booking with their barber, Greg, to get my hair cut and I’m absolutely loving this place! The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and every experience I’ve had has been top notch. For example, when Greg had to take a few extra minutes to finish off another client before starting my cut, the owner offered me a free head massage/shampoo and coffee until he was ready for me! 10/10 experience all around, best place in town!

First of all, these stylists are so welcoming and positive. Being a hairstylist who recently moved to Edmonton, I was looking for a salon exactly like this one! Amanda slayed my hair color and Diane took the time to give me a trim. I love the outcome of my hair, I will definitely be back. The atmosphere was very clean and everyone was professional.

The salon is beautiful and spotless! Not even one water spot on the plexiglass by the sinks. I felt very safe with all the protocols they are taking with COVID. Excellent place! Every stylist really knows their stuff and does amazing colour. All the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Had Mélodie as my stylist last time I went; what a total sweetheart! She did a great job on the color and even gave me a trim and style at end of the session. Highly recommend!

Walked in to Soho hoping to book a future appointment with Christine, only to get turned away because my hair was too "damaged" mind you i rarely ever use heat on my hair, and even when it comes to treating my hair with something potentially damaging i take every precaution to prevent damage. I went in while my hair was still drying and as my hair dries it gets super frizzy and i guess apparently looks damaged. I wouldnt be surprised if i was actually turned away because of the way i dress, which is super low class, honestly ill say i could look like a bum, im willing to bet if i walked in with my hair styled, my appointment wouldve been booked without even needing the consult, the photo attached is what i showed and asked for, my hair was already a little pre-lightened they wouldnt have even needed to bleach my hair that much

Per in other reviews, if you dare to ask, disagree or complain, you’re gonna be attacked.** [Inflexible Attitude] I’ve never booked an appointment and didn’t cancel in advance or didn’t show up. But sometimes, life happens, and last week, I couldn’t call to cancel my Monday appointment. I couldn’t also answer the confirmation call made on Saturday, and I tried but couldn’t find my way through the system to cancel it. I called Monday morning to cancel and was disturbed when, a few hours later, I received a call requiring my credit card to charge the cancellation fee. I tried to explain and talk but ended up exasperated about the inflexible attitude. I cannot understand how a business is not interested in treating a client as unique and with flexibility. Maybe I’m only one client and don’t mean anything to your business. I’m also not interested in a place that, when things do not go according to plan, the only effort is to point out how the client was wrong.

I'd like to preface this review by letting everyone know that I've taken a few days to write this review since having a senseless yet appalling encounter with Soho staff member, Josee & owner, Greg. I wanted to make sure I don't write this review in a state of anger or hurt and will try my best to state facts as clearly as possible and let the readers be the judge: I discovered Soho hair about a month ago and was pretty excited to try them out. I tried reaching them by phone on several occasions (various days, times etc.) but never once did they answer my call leaving me with no choice but to resort to their online booking system. So, i got a haircut on Sep 10th and few days later decided to book a hair color appointment as well. Once again, I tried calling them several times on different days but in the end resorted to booking online. To be safe, I selected the longest time slot option under their drop down menu for hair color as I knew I will be needing a consultation first. My online booking now showed I was booked from 11:00am - 1:30pm. THE UNPROFESSIONAL SIDE OF IT Earlier this week, I got a call from Josee at Soho hair to confirm my hair color appointment. Among 50 other questions she bombarded me with, one of the questions was "whether or not i would like a blow dry post hair color?" to which I responded "Isn't a blow dry included in hair color appointment?" She replied, in a very agitated tone "Yes, it is! It's not like we're charging you extra for it. You didn't book a separate blow dry online after hair color. You're SUPPOSED to book a separate blow dry so we know you want a blow dry after the color!" As confusing and contradicting that response was, I kept my calm and very politely explained to her that I'm new to Soho and this was my first time booking a color appointment online so there was no need for her to get upset with me. I told her I would have preferred booking over the phone but couldn't as they never pick up their calls. This feedback was met with extreme hostility by Josee and she went from sounding agitated to having a full blown meltdown she deemed appropriate to unleash on a client and I quote "I'm here taking calls 8 hours a day so if I didn't pick up your call that's because I was on another line. I'm not in charge, I'm just calling to confirm your appointment. Why are you making this so difficult for me? It's a U.S based online booking system. You're supposed to book the blow dry separately. What's so confusing? Do you want a blow dry or not?" and handed the phone over to someone else mid rant. THE RUDENESS/CONDESCENDING SIDE OF IT The individual who took over the phone introduced himself as "Greg, the owner." His opening statement was "Hi, it seems you're having some difficulty understanding something?" I was still absorbing the shocking encounter with Josee but to my rude awakening, Greg topped it off. Without pausing or without even asking me what the issue was, he said "What's confusing? Either you want a blow dry or not as in would you like to walk out with wet hair after your color or with dry hair? It's a simple matter of blow dry not about saving the planet!" At this point my jaw had literally dropped and I hung up because I was truly at a loss for words. He called back saying "Looks like we got disconnected." I told him no I had hung up to which he said "Ohh oh-kay i will go ahead and cancel your appointment then" and hung up on me. I since went through their google reviews and reached out to a few of their clients and safe to say I'm not the only one who fell victim to their rude, patronizing treatment. One thing common amongst negative feedback was that it was mostly coming from people of color which made me realize their staff isn't ethnically diverse at all. One of their clients I reached out to said "Oh I just go there because i like my hair dresser otherwise the culture there is snobby for sure." Another client, person of color, shared "After 5 failed attempts at pronouncing my name, Josee decided to giggle & remark oh how exotic"

Going to Soho is always a pleasure. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. I can’t say enough about Diana. She is super friendly and does a magnificent job at cutting and styling my hair. They understand that each client is different and may require additional time on your hair. They want you leaving feeling good about your hair style, it is not just about getting to the next client. When I leave Soho I feel so glamourous, like a movie star, thanks to Diana’s fabulous skills and the other staffs’ gracious comments.

I went in today and got my hair cut by Pierro, he did such a good job. I’m always nervous to get my hair cut by someone new because my hair is so curly. I left very happy and will definitely be going back!

I love coming to Soho. I changed from a bigger salon a few months ago, and am so happy that I did! Soho is a beautiful boutique style salon in a great, convenient location. Josee always does everything to make me feel welcome and Danny is exceptional with my colour and cut. All of the stylists seem to love their clients and take pride in their work. Can't say enough about Soho and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants exceptional service and fantastic hair! Thanks to Soho and Danny!
