The first time I went, I had hayley and she was an absolute lady that did a great job on my hair! I had to touch up my roots (black to blonde) no problem. The second time I came in I had breanna and she was supposed to do the same thing (3 weeks later) and my hair fell out. I lost so much hair I've never had the such an experience it was the worst. What made it worse was she was scolding me about my hair and was making me feel bad about it. She didn't even apologize for what happened and tried to blame it on me for not having strong hair but girl, I've been up keeping my blonde hair for the past 2 years. If she just had told me what happened and maybe not apologizing I would've been fine. Just left me in the dark about it just to find out when I got home what happened. I now have baby hairs everywhere and it's going to take at least a year to heal and grow them out. The people there are genuinely nice I just wished they were able to own up to what happened and at least tell the customer. I wish I never came here in first place.

Really beautiful and bright salon. Staff are extremely welcoming. Victoria did a great job with my cut / balayage however the colour was not even close to the picture I showed. It still turned out looking very nice. Only reason I took off two stars was the price. I wish the price has been discussed before she did my hair. I did not expect to pay almost half a grand for a cut and colour. Although my hair looks good, it definitely wasn’t worth that, especially since the colour is nothing like the photo I showed. The prices are misleadingly lower on the website. A quick consultation about prices would have brought a three star rating up to a five. I would recommend the salon if you like paying almost $500.

I had an amazing experience here! I was able to book my appointment about an hour before I came in which was awesome. I had Hayley work on my hair and she's so wonderful! I came in for a full on shave and she was just as enthusiastic as me. It was really nice, she put in a lot of time to clean up around the edges and make sure the cut suited me. The environment is so wonderful and welcoming, my friends and I loved it here. We'll be comin' back any time any of us need anything done!

Fair prices for a professional salon, but not when they don't give you the service you asked for. I went in for a haircut and asked to get a tapered, V-shaped cut because I have thick hair and cutting straight across gives me very blunt, unflattering ends. $80 later, I received blunt ends (I guess it's in the name) with strange layering and one piece in the back was longer than the rest. Through my experience, they are much better at colouring hair than cutting and I don't think I'll be returning to get my hair cut here again.

Matthew cut my hair and I couldn't be happier. I really got the sense that he wanted me to love my hair. Without feeling under pressure, he asked me multiple questions to get a sense of what I wanted: How do I usually wear it, do I want it to stay long, etc. Once he started it was a pleasant experience with easy conversation and a beachy-wave style at the end.

Love this salon. My boyfriend and I both got our hair cut there yesterday for the first time. We were greeted by the super friendly staff and offered some yummy java. The space is amazing. Open concept, clean, minimalist and v trendy. Madeena was my stylist and she was amazing! I came in with dry brittle locks and she transformed them into a healthy mane again :) I wanted a blunt look and she definitely delivered. I have never had a stylist so intuitive with my hair! She was always asking me questions along the way. I find that at a lot of salons the stylists ask you what you want at the beginning and that's all. Not Madeena, she made sure I was 100% stoked and approving on what she was chopping and thinning out for me (cause my hair is so thick). My boyfriend also had a great experience and this was the first time I have witnessed him actually liking his haircut walking out of the salon. Will both be back for sure! :)

This place is the bomb. Great atmosphere, Great music, Great lighting, Great interior, Great staff and very talented stylists. My hair was down to my waist and I wanted it cut up to my shoulders. Rachel did an A+++ job, she knew exactly how I wanted it. I love her energy and spunkyness. It's also very refreshing to see a minimalistic salon in YEG. 12/10 would recommend ????????

The best salon I’ve ever been. First of all, I loved my hair. I’m more confident since I got my hair done, I like to look in the mirror and see how Kali potencialized my beauty. Meh Experience, Bad Haircut. Asked for 1/2 inch to one inch of a trim, stylist took off about three inches. I showed the stylist photos of what I wanted and he proceeded to cut my hair according to his preferences. I sat in uncomfortable silence the entire time and to top it off at the end he noted the back looked 'less like a broomstick.' I emailed for a full refund and was offered a free cut and style. If I choose to return to this salon and have a more positive experience I will update my review. I almost started crying in the chair so I don't know if I will.

My stylist burnt off the lower portion of my hair during bleaching and did not tell me. I have waist length hair and the underside of my hair was burnt off nearly to the scalp. It was incredibly unprofessional for her not to inform me that this massive mistake had been made. I went to another salon and they were able to lighten my hair much better than this salon, and without severely damaging it. As well, I waited to be served at least fifteen minutes after my appointment time, literally every time. This is unprofessional and shows that they do not value their customers time. I went to this salon several times, and overall it was a terrible experience.

Salon blunt has a pretty accessible location, decent parking options, has a really great aesthetic inside and the staff seem to get along well so the vibe seems awesome. If you're lucky enough to find yourself in Judy's chair you wont be disappointed. She has a great eye for toning, blending, and shape. She's kind and friendly and puts your hair health first.

Judy has been doing my colour, tape-in extensions, and cuts at Salon Blunt for over a year now and I can not say enough positive things about her as a a person and as a hairstylist! She did an amazing job with my highlights when I was blonde, and she nailed the brown colour I was looking for when I went back to brunette. She is very skilled with tape-in extensions and no damage to my natural hair has been caused since she has been doing my installations. Her attention to detail is unmatched and she will always make sure you leave the salon with exactly what you came in looking for! Not to mention she is the sweetest person ever. Update: they are amazing on the phone - very respectful, friendly and accommodating! They have an awesome selection of teas for clients - I had the Vanilla Orchid oolong. They gave me a pot of it (so good!) and they kept topping up my cup during my appointment. Considering the high of my first appointment last time, I was happy to book back - this time for just a color. I wanted something different but it came out a little unsatisfactory to what I had in mind. Maybe it’s my hair that doesn’t take color easily. I do think the colourist could listen a little more - she was super hyper/talkative. Plus I didn’t like that I got tossed about between different people to wash my hair and foils - it’s confusing. I’d rather have the one person I book with all the way through. I get they do that so that they can fit in multiple clients, but still. I like the customer service here but for everything else, I’m on the fence for now. 2 months ago: My boyfriend popped the question the night before and I was not prepared! I needed some grooming asap and emailed Salon Blunt at 10pm. I got a call at 9am the next morning, offering to squeeze me in! I was so ecstatic! I had a cut and color. They treated me with the utmost kindness and everyone congratulations! - just what a girl needs the day after! They did take a picture or two of my hair and I at th end of the appointment with the impression that they were going to post it on Instagram. That never happened:(

Recently I needed a last minute appointment and they were able to get me in with Matthew who also did a fantastic job. He listened to what I wanted and even gave me a couple of styling tips based on our conversation throughout the appointment. It seems you can’t go wrong with any of the stylists at this salon.
