I've been struggling to find a stylist since moving to Canmore. Long-term service relationships can be a challenge to establish due to the transient nature of the town. I reached out to Rapunzels through Instagram, inquiring about a recommended stylist for my hair type and received Melanie's name. She did an exceptional cut, took time to teach me a new option for styling, and was great to visit with during the service. I will definitely be patronizing Melanie and Rapunzels now :)

I just had the most relaxing pedicure with Janet! I called first thing in the morning and Crystal was able to find a time that worked. The massage was fantastic and I was able to relax in the lounge while my polish dried. Highly recommend!!

$94 for manicure and she didn’t touch my cuticles at all. Nails are all different shapes and uneven lengths. In better lighting I’ve just noticed the polish doesn’t even go all the way to the edges of my nails. This was basically a polish change for $75 more than I’d pay at my regular nail salon.

Had the stress-flex pedicure today with my sister. It was absolutely lovely. My sister was getting her pictures done later and they last minute offered to do her make up. The pedi was super relaxing and my feet feel and look great. Super friendly, well cleaned beautiful space. And they are handling the covid situation very well. Will definitely be going back there.

Love Rapunzels!!! I am in Canmore quite often and I always choose Rapunzels for my spa services. I have had massages and pedicures and both are out of this world! The atmosphere is so relaxing, especially in their waiting room and that tea!!! I could drink it by the gallon. My most recent service was a massage and it was fantastic. My therapist was so attune to my needs and wishes. She was so thorough and caring and really listened to me. I felt like a different person when I walked out. I cannot wait to go back!

Really nice atmosphere and front desk staff, but the stylist really didn’t listen to what I wanted. I had very thick, long hair and asked that it be trimmed (kept quite long as I’m getting married), thinned out, and layers be added around the face. I left with a bushy, shapeless blunt cut that was nearly a full foot shorter than what I went in with — yes, I measured. Needless to say, I was disappointed and shocked with the length so I wasn’t about to ask for a re-do on the layers/thinning. Be very up front and adamant about what you want, especially since they cut it wet. I’m very concerned I will have to get extensions to achieve the style I had wanted for my wedding.

Unfortunately I used to love getting my hair cut here, BEFORE the pricing was great for a men’s hair cut.. but $42!?! Plus a tip?! That’s a little much for a men’s short hair cut. I can drive to Calgary get 2 hair cuts and drive back for the same price. You really should advise your clients about the price prior to the service and make your pricing more upfront. I was willing and expecting to pay around the $30-35 mark for Canmore plus tip but still shocked with the price. The stylist was friendly but unfortunately I would NOT class her as an advanced stylist!! AFTER I SHOWERED once I got home I HAD TO SHAPE AND CUT MY HAIR AGAIN!!! The bottom was not straight, long pieces everywhere and fluffs of hair left. Not impressed at all!!!

I had a very reasonably priced, 90min therapeutic massage here, and it was sublime. The massage therapist was so calm and attentive that it was easy to relax. She worked around a recent injury, taking care not to cause any pain, while giving me the much needed therapy that I was expecting. Will definitely be back next time we're in Canmore.

My husband and I had an amazing experience here! Right when you walk into Rapunzel you feel relaxed. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful! The place is gorgeous with beautiful decor. My husband said he received the best massage and said i HAD to leave a 5 star review! We will be back next time for sure!

Great service only when it suits them. They canceled an appointment on me after I got there for some building issue. The worst part was I had finished a night shift and had to wake up 4 hrs sooner to make the appointment. No compensation or accommodation was made to make up for my inconvenience. If I had to cancel on them at the last second they would have charged me full price for the service as they had my credit card information on their system. Extremely disappointed never went back there again. Thanks for the reply but that's incorrect. The incident happened in early 2014. Are you suggesting that I made up the whole incident to such elaborate detail? If you have not had building issues, which may have very well been the case, that however was the reason given to me for the last minute cancellation whether true or not and apparently the then owner was aware of the incident.

I had an appointment at Repunzels and it was great! The hairdresser was very professional, asked the right questions to figure out what exactly I wanted, and also let me know her experince and opinion to have the best result for my hair. I came in for highlights/balayage, and I absolutely loved my hair. It was the perfect shade of blonde, no brasiness, clean, and fresh for the summer to come! Highly recommend this salon. Will book for other services and hair in the near future. Thank you!

Best pedicure ever! I've had shellac (gel) pedicures done at least 10 times in the past 5 years and not one has lasted more than 2 weeks. I had this pedicure done on Aug 13th, almost 6 weeks ago. I told the technician the trouble I've had with peeling and she took extra care to do a good job. I would definitely recommend ????

Headed to Canmore in need of a solitary getaway and booked at Rapunzel Spa and Salon. I must mention that I am a massage therapist and have been for 10 years so I am very familiar with treatments and spas. Rapunzel was great! The spa is very "mountain-esque" it feels like a ski chalet. My only disappointment was that there is no option to change out of your street clothes. I sat waiting in the lounge in my jeans and it just didn't feel relaxing. I also asked if there was a steam room and was told no, but then saw one? That must be for special treatments I guess. The lounge is cozy with magazines, tea and water but I think this could be upped by offering some cookies to snack on and add robes to the mix! Side note: if you have trouble with stairs you may want to avoid this place. Negatives aside... I had the greatest massage from a therapist named Ellen. If you book a massage here I highly recommend her. She is attentive and gives one of the best massages I have ever had. Every time I go to Canmore I will make a point of booking with her. So great! Overall an excellent experience and I will be back.

Really enjoyed the For Her package which includes a facial, manicure, and pedicure. I have absolutely no complaints. Janet was excellent! The facial, that includes a neck and shoulder rub, was very relaxing and Janet has super soft hands. She even fit me in for an eyebrow wax that I hadn’t booked. A wonderful experience. I would highly recommend it.

Two of my girlfriends and I booked appointments at Rapunzel’s back in February for our girls wkd trip to Canmore this month. We hadn’t ever been to Rapunzel’s before however decided on this spa after reading the excellent reviews. The spa itself is beautiful, cozy and inviting inside, probably one of the nicer spas I’ve been to in terms of quality amenities. The service itself however was fairly disappointing :( I had the signature facial and at the beginning of the treatment I specifically asked the girl to do extractions and showed her one in particular that I wanted taken care of on my chin, which was the only significant blemish I had at the time so it was not hard to miss (she completely forgot to do it all together). The massage portion of the signature facial was probably the most disappointing of all. My significant other has given me a better massage while half asleep on the couch, seriously. Think circular motions being repeated quickly over and over on the same spot with little to no pressure, it was the worst massage I’ve ever had... At one point she also left the room for what felt like forever (although likely 5-10 minutes) while I had a hot towel covering my face and I was overheating uncomfortably to the point where I actually started sweating.This is the first time I’ve had a facial where I’ve been left in the room for several minutes, instead of that time being used towards the massage treatment... At the end of my treatment I wasn’t given any feedback at all (which seems standard for any facial I’ve had in the past), it felt like the girl just wanted to rush out of there as I was the last appointment of the day on a Friday. On a positive note, my face did feel really soft and refreshed after. All in all it was a mediocre/disappointing experience and I wouldn’t go back here for a facial.

They do not know how to cut thick hair. Once you wash it, if it comes forward, it will be obviously uneven. The first time, I thought it was a mistake. The second time I was beyond disappointed. I can't have them down.They won't fix it and they will blame you. These people are not to be trusted. They prefer to give you a long session of hair dryer and brushing so that it is all hidden (as if normal people have time or interest to do so) and then you are stuck with the problem.

I made an appointment for a hair cut and dye, I was told over the phone that it would take 2 hours. The girl asked me if that was alright and I said Yes. When I showed up for my appointment and was sitting in the stylists chair I was told they wouldn't be able to do the colour and that I needed a consult. It would of been nice to know about this before I was sitting in the stylists chair on my only day off. My hair cut took less than 20 minutes. As a Canmore local I am not impressed with the lack of communication, I Will be going to a different hair Salon from now on. The salon did contact me and apologized which was nice and also offered my money returned, I do appreciate that but my hair cut was fine and was not the stylists fault.

I am only giving this place a 2 star rating because I got a pedicure and it costs $120 with tip for regular polish. It was nothing over the top and special, just a polish on my legs and massage. I did have gel on my toes which they charged $20 to remove. Just overall just an expensive place for a pedicure.

I was most disappointed with my hair appointment. I told the hairdresser I did not like the flat iron curling iron as it didn’t give me a good set and not enough curl. Instead of listening to me she went ahead and said I would have curl. Well I did not have curl. I had a smooth look that I do not like. Furthermore I paid the exorbitant price of $55.00 for something I was not happy with. I won’t be back.

I was pampered with the 4 hour spa package. Brenda gave an incredible massage, relaxing but also really worked out some knots. I believe the woman who did my facial, mani and pedi was named Janet - she was fantastic. Best shellac mani I have ever had - a week later after lots of wear and tear on my hands it looks as if it were done today. I would highly recommend the spa to anyone!

Janet was an exceptional manicurist!!! Upon entering the spa, I noticed the serene and calming atmosphere. It was a lovely, two storied facility. A friendly fireplace and cozy, yet tastefully upholstered chairs and sofa beckoned me to relax and enjoy the soft music playing in the background. Janet came and introduced herself and we had a lovely chat. She is a beautiful person with a very warm and inspiring nature. She is fully attentive and very meticulous in her work.
