Not recommend to go here specifically if you planning to go in some function don’t put yourself in risk. They have mostly new worker who are not even confident in cutting hair. I would say they are untrained. I visited this place 2 times and both time had bad experience. Even when its come to threading of cheeks they don’t do it properly they will just remove long hairs and will say done. Literally i had to tell them 5 time to do again and again. Lots of small facial hair were left. I don’t know why are they in so hurry to finish. Overall i would say avoid this place specifically for haircut of mens and find some better salon nearby.

Excellent customer service. Very clean and neat bathroom. Friendly staff members. Once you start going there they will remember your face and name. Their beauty service and price is good. You don't need to book an appointment . Walk ins are always welcome there. I am very peaky when it comes to threading my eyebrows but this girls knows how to do it perfect all the time. They know how to put smile on your face.

Worst service...... it was 25 minutes to close and open sign was on and when I entered inside they refused for my hair cut reason that they are busy. If I am not wrong when you enter any store before closing you should get the services and in my case it was 25 mins left which was substantial, and I saw some employees chatting inside. Pathetic service. Totally zero rating for the customer service.

This is the worst place I've gotten a haircut from. When i walked in I said to give me a fade, she said she will and proceeded with the hair cut. But instead she gave me a buzz cut and even messed up my front hair line, its all jagged like. Not only that, another time my brother was there with me and kept correcting her what to do, i bet even my brother could've cut hair better. If I could give zero stars I would. Save your money and go somewhere else. I went into get a wax and after waiting for 30 minutes it was finally my turn. I got into the chair and the lady just started literally slapping thick layers of wax all over my face (DID NOT PREP MY SKIN WITH PREWAX OR POWDER. SHE DIDNT WASH HER HANDS AFTER HER PREVIOUS CLIENT AND DIDNT EVEN BOTHER TO WEAR GLOVES). Didn’t even check direction of hair growth. Then she started pulling the strips in all weird directions and instead of tweezing she rewaxed some areas like THREE times. Keep in mind you’re never supposed to rewax an area especially someone’s face. To make matters worst she went and kept using the SAME GOD DAMN spatula. YES SHE DOUBLE DIPPED INTO THE WAX. Anyways I’m too quiet of a person to say anything so I paid and left and wanted to cry at this horrific experience. I got into the car and saw how patchy the wax job was, my face was blood red and covered in hives. I went home and took a reactine and went on about my day and the next morning I woke up with my face covered in white heads and I was lifted in a bunch of different places. This place is the worst place ever to go so save your money and go to a proper place with properly certified people. (Also I’m not a newbie, I’ve gotten waxed for many years without an issue until this place). Don’t even get me started on the customer service of this place, the lady doing the waxing and threading literally didn’t even greet anyone, she would yell “next”, look at you until you told her what you wanted done and would start.

After the lady completely messed up my beard I was forced to get a full hair cut because it did not look good. We’ve been to 17 St location before and never had any problem. They were closed early because of holiday and had to go to this location. I would say this is worst place if one wants to get their brows done. I understand this place is extremely busy. Given the fact, People should be treated as humans not as animals. I would request staff to be cautious when working with people’s skin. You cannot just peel off one’s skin and apologize after.

Need cleanliness My waxing experience: The manager had first put a novice to do the waxing who burnt my skin, then an expert* came, who burnt my skin even more that too at numerous places (I told her that I am feeling the wax really hot which she ignored, then she pulled the wax strip more than twice at some parts which literally rip of superficial skin layer) I HAD to attend a family wedding with burnt arms She did applied some cream once she realized that I had got burnt, the manager took $10 off from my bill for burning nearly my legs and both my arms. I Felt like screaming on her face but My good manners told me to go and write a review instead. NEVER go to this place until your skin is hard enough to tolerate their hot wax and negligence toward their work.

Nu Look salon has great prices and they're able to help walk ins efficiently; I have been going to the Ellerslie location for months now, and rarely come out with problems. This was my third time attending the 23rd ave location and as always, I received by far the worst treatment by the employees there. The customer service at this location is just downright awful! Unlike the numerous other salons I've been too, the ladies here are very rude and highly unprofessional. They make mistakes and instead of owning up to it or trying to help their clients, they deflect and blame their clients instead. While I was getting my face threaded today, the lady continued to give me numerous cuts along the side of my face. She did not bother to show me or ask me or even tell me, how she wanted me to hold my face so that we could avoid the cuts. I had told the lady beforehand that my face was sensitive and that she needed to be a little more careful as I have an event to attend soon. When all was done, I looked in the mirror and noticed the cuts. When I voiced my concerns to her, instead of giving me an apology or trying to find a way to help my bleeding face, she raised her eyebrows and said, "maybe next time you should hold better". I would have been happy had I just received an apology out of common courtesy. They're cuts and will eventually heal; my problem wasn't that she cut me, it was the tone and choice of words that were used to respond to me. I am deeply offended and annoyed as this is not the first time I have been spoken to so rudely. Employees should be taught to communicate better with their clients and should also be taught to ask good questions about their clients skin or hair before working on it. I most definitely will not be visiting this location again and I will not recommend this location to anyone either. I am not the one who typically would go out of my way to complain but this is just wrong. It is not okay for anyone to degrade or put someone else down like that, regardless of who they are, what they look like or how old they are.

The Millwoods location is the best New Look Location in the city. I had my graduation a few months ago and forgot to make an appointment for hair and makeup until the last minute. The staff at the location accommodated me and the manger personally styled my hair and did my makeup. I got the look I requested and everything was done just perfect. I highly recommend this place!

My todays experience is really bad. I always go there and my family too. And today they overcharged me. Every time i go for a haircut they do the beard lining and today they charged me without letting me know and when asked they said its the new policy just started . I will not be going there again and neither my family. I really like the place and their hairstyling but the way the staff treated it was really horrible experience. Went there for my son’s haircut. Waiting for more than one our, two girls were there no smile no hi hello. One girl done her customer hair cut and go back inside never come back in front. No clean after her customer hair cut done. Even though this girl wanted to cut my son’s hair I would tell her to clean the place first and wear the mask, she was doing her work without mask. Other girl’s were with her customer more than one hour, in between stop doing her job and talking with customer and again doing. After then started another customer who came after me. Is it not feeling disrespectful.? They didn’t care we are customer waiting there more than one hour. I would say it’s ridiculous, rough and disgusting behaviour to who were waiting for. They are very unprofessional, don’t know any manner to customer. I will recommend please never ever go this place, don’t waste your time who don’t know customer care, and don’t respect customer . ????????????????????

When I went for laser hair removal service the employee gave me the form for a sign, I tried to read it but the employee told me that you do not need to read it, Just take my signature and there were no explanations, 2nd time went and the different employee gave me services and feel like no experienced employee. They didn't know when I had service and what is next season. Not recommended at all. I wasted my money.

Tried this salon yesterday for threading because they are closer to home than my usual place, and had a great experience. They aren't chatty, but they aren't impolite either -just seemed efficient to me; not only did a full face threading cost less than half of what my usual place was charging, but their lack of chit chat meant that it took me a fraction of the usual amount of time. I used to wait three months or so between threading appointments, but since they are so fast and cheap, I will be coming back every month. Also, she didn't try to put any lotion on my face after, which I liked because I have sensitive skin and hate trying to explain that to people.

Had to come second time as waited for 40 minutes for the first time for haircut and had to leave without it as there is only one staff member for men's haircut where they have 4 chairs. She will do you haircut , clean the floor and charge payment. Just imagine, how much one has to wait if he is 2nd-3rd in the queue. Today, waited for 50 minutes before someone attended. Worst customer service as there is no one even bother to tell how much one should wait before his turn. Will see some other place next time.

Do not expect much. That being said, I buy the Brazilian Groupon's and I'm totally satisfied. There is little to no customer service skills and it borders on rude, but I'm there for 10 minutes for a no-fuss waxing then leave. Again if you're expecting a quality treatment with friendly staff, probably not the place for you. But for $15 bucks plus tip it's an incredible deal.

Overall this place is all neat & clean with enough waiting area while you wait for your turn. They entertain bookings as well as walk in’s. It’s a salon for both men & women. The staff is helpful with suggestions and queries. Only thing disappointed was they asked an untrained new employee to do my waxing during my 1st visit. Now I ask before if they are experienced before booking any of my services.

Waited for 1 hour and 10minutes just for the hair cut and had to leave without getting service because only one staff was working, two more customers were waiting and two other staff are just roaming here and there, did not do anything. There is no meaning to book an appointment here you will have to wait. I have been coming here for last 4 years and almost everytime I spent atleat half an hour for waiting. I always support local businesses but this is not worth, spent an hour for waiting. I have never seen more than 2 staff working in men's section at all which is only the half capacity of the store not just because of Covid, but because of under staffing. I always see more than two people waiting in men's section. If you need a quick service or have some time then do not come here it will end up to hours go some where else. Never coming back.

I just visit to salon for eyebrows and upperlips, very bad they are just making money . I confirmed the price for both.The lady told me 7dollars for eyebrows and 4 for upperlips but then also she charge me 15.75 in total when I ask her then she said you told me to do forehead also ,then I denied I won’t told it then they say sorry only.but she didn’t give me 3 dollars back. Worst experience! Asked to have my eyebrows waxed, then she started threading midway. Even though i asked her specifically not to thread my eyebrows. When i looked in the mirror my left eyebrow has a large gap that was missing. She took a chunk out of my actual eyebrow!!! Now i have to pencil my eyebrow in. I asked what did she do, she stated its because my eyebrow is blonde in that spot. I have brown hair only! Never have i left anywhere with my eyebrow missing a chunk!

Worst, worst, worst customer service ever. I went there for face wax and eyebrow threading. I left salon and when I get home, I noticed that some of my skin got peeled off from my chin and not properly waxed (left some hair on my neck and side of my eyes and threaded my both eyebrows differently). When I get there I mentioned that I’m waxing for the first time and be careful coz I’m not sure about my skin type. She didn’t even care and peeled off my skin and didn’t let me know. I know it happens and no one know my skin type but it’s there duty to let me know about peeled off skin, stop right there and provide me different options like threading or laser treatment. Instead of letting me know, she just covered it, which is not a proper way to treat a customer. Worst service ever. I don’t want any of you guys to feel the same way I’m now. It’s my face and I’m really disappointed. That’s my first time in that salon and not gonna go back there again.

I waited 40 minutes to get my eyebrows threaded and when i finally got them done, one was squared and one was rounded. When i told the girl she messed them up she instead tried saying its my eyebrows that are just like that but as an eyebrow technician its her job to make them look similar not totally different. It was her mistake for trying to do my eyebrows in a span of 1 minute and i had told her she cut too much from the top on one of the eyebrows but she still thought she was right. This is the second time its happened and unfortunately both times she did my eyebrows because everyone else was busy. Terrible quality of service, regret going here and will never come back.

Worst service for walk in. I told them that I had come for three things (facial, threading, hair cut). She told me to wait for sometime. I waited for around 20 min. Then she told me that another employee who will start her shift in 15 minutes and attend me. I waited again for 10 minutes. Then they told me to change and someone will come and do facial. I waited again for 20 minutes after changing and no one came. Finally, I had to come out of the room and tell them that if no one was coming, then I may leave. Then , one employee came and did facial. She did the facial without steamer or hot towels. She did not bother to tell me before that their steamer is not working. On asking her about steamer, she told me that steamer is not working. It took 2 hours to do one facial. They should value the time of other people as well. If the steamer was not working, I should be informed earlier that facial will be done without steam. I am not going to this place ever. No good customer service when they get a bunch of customers together.

I had a very bad experience at this Nu Look Salon & Spa at 23rd Ave. The male hairdresser by the name of Navi did not have the required skills & was also irritating by asking many questions. In fact, he wanted everything to be told, probably to pre empty any problems for him later. In the starting only I had told him that I don't want very short hair, but at the end, he spoiled the complete hair cut which I will now have to bear for a month at least. The cut was not only short but haphazard too. When I talked to the owner over the phone, she was at other salon at that time, her response was typical of a owner style, full of arrogance. God save this salon. I will however, take this up with the licensing authority as to how unqualified & unprofessional people are engaged at this salon.

If you are looking to be waxed, I strongly suggest visiting Gagan at this location. I first had met her at the Allard location and was amazed by her waxing skills and professionalism. She made me feel very comfortable, and took her time with me. She pays careful attention to small details and direction of hair growth. She has great knowledge in her craft. She makes my session feel very pain-free every time I visit. I have very sensitive skin, as well as many in-growns, which Gagan has been working on with me for almost over a year. I have noticed a significant difference in my skin and hair growth. Gagan was recently transferred to the Millwoods location which is not a convenient drive for me, however, I still go down to see her every time because of the excellent service she provides. I strongly recommend Gagan if you're looking to be waxed.

Normally have a good experience here but lately the staff has been slacking. Worst experience this morning when i got my upper lip waxed, and the lady dropped hot wax (didn't cool it down first at all) on my chest, lips AND my hair, and didn't apologize. she waxed off the stuff on my chest with a strip instead of using the oil to clean it, so obviously it was a little sting. and grabbed my hair and started going through it with the oil. she was being really rude and rash about the situation as if it were my fault. did not offer a discount or anything as i were paying, very disappointed. the LEAST she could do is apologize and didn't have the audacity to do that

I have been a customer for a while at the Millwoods Location and have always had a great experience. Recently I got my hair higlighted at a different place and the stylist compleltely destoryed my hair and the colour in the end was not at all apealing. The next day I made an appointment at this location with the manager who fixed the colour, improved the hair quality and saved me from the bad hair higlights I got somewhere else. I highly recommend this place, the staff is friendly, epecially the manager who knows what she is doing.

I had A pleasant experience. Went in for waxing and everyone greeted me nicely. The girl doing my wax was polite and nice and knew what she was doing. I didn’t go in there with unrealistic expectations of going in like a warewolf and coming out like a Swan. Didn’t go there to find my one true love. Went in for a service, it was given in a nice professional manner, that’s it that’s all. All these stupid reviews that make the place look bad are probably by those who go there with unrealistic expectations as I mentioned above. It was my first time and I wasn’t told to give them this review but I do feel that they do deserve the praise. Prices are reasonabale and service is good. I will definitely be going back. August 21,2018- went in again to get my eyebrows done, man the lady is good. Totally forgot to ask her name but she deserve a hug. My eyebrows look amazing and it didn’t hurt at all. Will go back again and again.

Has to be the worst salon ever. The price gouge lioe crazy, they’ll tell you a haircut and straighten is 35 but once you get to the till it’s $25 for the cut and $35 FOR THE STRAIGHTEN!! And the haircut you get has to be the worst in the city. Absolute trash, they can’t even speak English properly. My sister went and this was her experience.

I go all the time here but the girl who did my eyebrows with the thread today was so inexperienced. She was in a hurry and she ruined my all forehead with the thread marks and even blood was coming. When i asked for foundation to hide the marks she said i didn't find any foundation which i didn't like because she wasn't ready to help me, she didn't realize her mistake what she did. I will not go back in this salon in my life because of today.

Lost my business after over 5 years of patronage. I've been coming here since they opened up to get my eyebrows done, but this past weekend I was turned away becuase they said they were too busy and not enough time. However, right after I left, I saw 2 more ladies walk into the salon for eyebrows (WALK IN APPOINTMENTS) and they were happily served. Terrible customer service. I would give 0 stars if it were an option. Sad they lost a customer in a matter of minutes.

“The Horrible”, customer service. As i entered and asked for certain services, the lady at front didn’t reply and others ladies just peeping from distance and were busy in talking.
