Honestly, I don't go anywhere except Mist to get my hair done only because of the one hairdresser I see every time I go, Mateena! She is fricking awesome, super nice, friendly and does a fantastic job at cutting/coloring/styling my hair. If you are looking for someone who you can trust will cut your hair well, book an appointment with Mateena. I get different haircuts every appointment and not a single time has she failed me. Give Mist Salon a visit and ask for Mateena if you can !

I really didn't like the attitudes and condescending tone of this place. This was my very first time I came here and I really didn't feel comfortable with the attitudes they gave when I gave a description for the haircut I wanted. Most salons I went to had no problems on what haircut I wanted had to have done. But this one did especially saying to me "You need to watch your wording in how you describe it" in front of everyone to hear. That's extremely disrespectful and uncalled for calling people out like that for customer service. Not to mention the sign is very misleading for 22$ for a hair cut with shampoo & washing which I did not get at all. Just a haircut. This was my first time AND MY LAST TIME. I will highly recommend DO NOT COME come to this establishment for any hair cuts. Take it from me, go find a better place that will treat you right as a person and not just see you as objects of money.

I wish I can give them Zero rating.... I purchased coupon from groupon.. there was two months waiting and later on when you visit them finally! You get unprofessional services that I wasn’t expected at all. I paid for express manicure and pedicure and what I get just pedicure. For how long just 30 mins and you paid for 45mins pedicure. And not manicure at all.. when I talked with manager he said we don’t have time next person is there.. we cannot help you. They didn’t even prepare for manicure. The time I asked for manicure they told me that we don’t have time so we did classic pedicure to you... 30 mins classic seriously!!! It’s for 60 mins... unfortunately not worth visiting them unprofessional and very rude. They need to learn time management and some manners. Worst customer service and pedicure ever.

My husband has come with me and he always gets a good stylish cut. I would highly recommend this salon as all of the stylists are talented; however, Mateena is my go to girl. I went once in the summer and got a decent, simply haircut but went back in October and got a terrible haircut. I asked him to cut off my split ends, he didn't. Asked him not to cut short layers around my face - he did. Came home and found a big chunk of hair that he'd somehow missed trimming with the rest.

Amazing service at Mist! They managed to squeeze me in when I left my appointment booking WAY too close to my vacation (my fault). Call well in advance to book your service. They are so wonderful that they book up quick! I had a lovely pedicure. I love that they go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. Don't forget to get the Gel Polish so you don't smudge your pretty toes in your winter boots!

I had gone into the salon because I was given a gift card for Christmas. I noticed that the stations were very dusty and hadn’t been given a wipe down for awhile. I brought a set of extensions in to show Stephanie what colour I wanted done. Stephanie was nice and did manage to make my hair all one colour (another salon had screwed up and I had two colours in my hair). However, the colour I left with was NOT the colour I had asked for. It was as if she hadn’t toned it at all, or if she did, not properly. When I called back she said she’d fix it for free by bleaching it again and toning it differently, however I did not go back in as bleaching it again would have just caused unnecessary damage to my hair and was not what the issue was. Externally pissed off that I paid about $180 and left with hair I was not happy with and she clearly didn’t know how to fix properly... Now I have to pay another salon about the same amount to fix her mistake...

I'm not normally someone who writes reviews, but I have to make an exception for Mist. I have been having the worst luck with my hair lately, and recently I made the disastrous mistake of trying to save money by putting a box dye my hair over top of old purple dye. Absolute nightmare. It was baby-poop brown...at best. I didn't know what to do, but I knew I needed some professional help. There wasn't any particular reason I picked Mist to call, but I'm so glad I did. They were able to fit me in later that day, and my experience was absolutely awesome. The staff was super friendly. Kasandra, my savior, not only did a fantastic job fixing my colour, she also explained the science behind why my hair turned out so badly in the first place. She also gave me an amazingly chic haircut to compliment my new, beautiful hair colour. On top of all that, she stayed almost an hour past closing to make sure that everything turned out how I wanted. I never felt rushed and she made me feel like she really cared about how my hair turned out. I will absolutely come back when it's time to touch up the colour - no more box dye for me! And for someone who is incredibly frugal, that's a huge deal. Mist saved my hair and I'm converted! I can't thank Kasandra enough for turning my hair nightmare into a dream. I absolutely recommend Mist!

She does exactly what I envision for my hair every time, and shes extremely personable and kind. Mateena has always quoted me a fair price and stuck to it, plus she has been great at recommending product for my hair as well. I first came to her with extremely grown out roots, and very brassy balayage blonde hair and she fixed me right up without the judgement I have gotten from many hairstylist in the past. If you have bleach blonde hair don't go there unless u want ur hair looking like 2 tone color. I have a hairdresser who uses the same product as them back in ontario and mist salon couldn't even do my hair with those product with the same 20 volume bleach. She would of had to had left bleach on for an hour and she was arguing with me that she left it on that long lol! I'm not Gona go somewhere where I need to argue with the hairdresser. I have a hairdresser here who does leave my hair in bleach for an hour with 20 volume and it works out just right. You shouldn't have to fry ur hair to get results. Don't know what I was thinking to try this place but I will never go there again. Plus she was Gona charge me to fix my hair. I walked out. The hairdresser is Shannon. Maybe the other ones are better but she just doesn't try to understand and fix the issue.

Stunning Stephanie! I was a walk-in (a male cut) , was in a chair in less than 5 minutes. She was great , none of that 1/2 paying attention to what ur saying...."U huh, u huh. ...ok. got it" then a hair cut nothing like what you asked for. Stephanie listened intently to my hair cut request and Delivered to a "T" , exactly what I wanted/asked for. And i am picky. I was a client at "Carrie'l" salon just off jasper for 10 yrs. I was paying $ 80.00 - $ 120.00 for wash/cut/dry.......I got a better hair cut and better customer service for 15%- 20% of big name salons.!!! Highly recommend Mist salon and Hair , in Bonnie Doon Mall. Don't forget to ask for Stephanie, though I'm sure the other staff members are also well qualified. I'm just a picky 48yr old male whose very particular about my cuts.........boy , Stephanie sure delivered. I'll be back there every 2-3 weeks for my great hair cut.!!!! Wouldn’t recommend. I asked for a trim, and the lady who attended to my hair couldn’t even complete the simple task I asked for. When I was finished with the trim she didn’t even show me the back. I’m assuming because it was uneven and she cut off more then I had asked to be cut off. The price is also absurd for a trim. We paid $51.00 for a terrible job and when we asked for a refund after seeing the damage done they refused to reimburse us saying that they don’t do refunds. Even though the lady who cut my hair, clearly didn’t do her job properly. Bad service and attitude from her and the manager.

I have been a client of Mist Salon for year (6+) as their senior stylist was my girl, now that she is gone I will never return. This review is feedback for the owner, it is not to be malicious- I certainly don't want anything or even a response to this review-I know how combative those can be. From a manager to a manager- customers/clients are the cornerstone of your business- you should acknowledge them, even saying thank you for their business would go a long way. I know you know me- not once did you ever say hi to me or the time that you delayed my hair color service 30+ minutes because you locked the Olaplex in your office for some weird reason and I had booked weeks in advance with this product as one of my requests in my appointment (that you booked BTW). You come in, you don't acknowledge me, you certainly make no effort to apologize or even throw this in for free as a gesture of goodwill. How much does it really cost you? When I make a mistake at work that affects a client- I apologize, and then I find a solution to make it right- plain and simple. The salon is dingy, outdated, disorganized and your staff clearly have no guidelines on how to dress for work and you charge high end salon pricing.... I have no problem paying for quality but your price tag does not match what you offer. When someone complains especially on google- you meet this with hostility (So inappropriate) these reviews are here to help you grow, to learn from your mistakes. If someone complains and you don't agree with it- don't post a response. This is public, people can see it. You don't want people judging you or your business before experiencing it for themselves. You're the face of your business, its important to put your best foot forward not be immature and rude. I have spent thousands of dollars here and again I used to tell people that I would refer that I don't go for the salon, I go for my stylist. In hopes to prepare them to pay high end salon prices for what appears to be an over-priced barber shop. I certainly hope you start treating your clients and your staff a lot better than you have- seems like a very toxic work environment. Sorry not sorry.

They are not booking till after October. Don’t buy the groupon!!! Because on trying to book that far in advance is difficult and they want you to open/redeem voucher over the phone or they won’t book. Very rude on the phone saying goodbye when I brought up terms in their groupon said mention voucher on booking and redeem in store. Reported to groupon, will be brought to their attention, and I canceled/refunded vouchers!

I went in complaining about a different hairdressers and what a bad job they did and ended up getting an even worse haircut the sides are not blended in at all and he took way too much off the top my hair looks like a mushroom. I got a groupon pedicure today and i must say it was not worth the money, even discounted. My feet are still rough, nails were cut too short and terribly shaped, i wouldn't say there was a massage, there was lotion put on yes, and to top it off they really dont have much for colours. Groupons are supposed to bring people to a business, not give them a discounted experience.

Mist Salon & Day Spa is a one-stop destination for cuts, colours, edgy style options and professionals who hear what you want and deliver. They also do brow and lash tints, mani/pedis and more I haven’t tried yet. I love my hair colour, cut and condition. I love my brow shape and tint too. This salon has brought me from silly short hair to glorious long hair with care and professionalism. I recommend them to everyone. You will love them too.

I was given a groupon for a manicure and pedicure in April, called to make an appointment. The first question I was asked was "do you have a groupon" I answered yes (that was my mistake) I was told they were not booking until October...really!!! the receptionist said I had to book the appointment in advance...no kidding! This is poor customer service. if you can't honor your obligation Mist salon and day spa, then you shouldn't be offering the service on Groupon! I won't be using my groupon...based on some of the reviews, it seems their service is poor as well. I had to give a one star rating, but in reality I wanted to give them Zero!!!

Just got my hair cut for the second time at mist salon, Mateena is my girl! She is a wizard with hair and I can't thank her enough for her efforts. Confidence and experience is what I got at mist and I couldn't recommend it more. ???? Thanks for making me beautiful Mateena ???? See u again soon

Poor, poor, poor. Bad attitudes, They are not professional at all, cut my dad's face up, cut half his mustache off! Then ask if they should just leave it! Very rude to him. Told him to relax after they cut him. If I was there I would of pulled him out.

Likely one of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever encountered. When I was not happy with the hair style provided, I phoned and was met with defensiveness. When I went back into the salon to show how AWFUL the hair style was I was met with Defensiveness and refusal to fix the situation. He raised his voice in front of other customers and his employees. It was embarrassing and I would NEVER recommend this place to my worst enemy. Lovely staff/stylists -defensive, confrontation, unprofessional manager.

Our hair dresser kassy has been a long time good friend and our awesome hairdresser. she does both my husbands hair and mine and did a wonderful job on my hair for our wedding. i wouldn't go to another she is friendly and does our hair well. i would highly recommend her if your looking for good great personable dresser. we would follow her all over the city for her to cut our hair.

My long term hairdresser, Kasandra, is professional, creative, flexible, and very personable; creating an excellent customer experience for a wide variety of clientele. Kassandra is my hairdresser and I have to say, she is the best hair dresser I've had my entire life. I've been going to her for the last couple of years (started at Altimo in Kingsway Mall to Mist at the time of writing this) and she always gets the cut right. The best part is that she has this eye for color work that blows me away every time. She's open to trying any ideas I have, but when left to her, her creativity blows my mind. If you're looking for a hairdresser, regardless of whether you want something crazy like I usually do or not, choose her. Trust me, it'll be worth it in the long run.
