Ian was amazing! Been to quite a few locations in Edmonton and this was the first location and stylist that took the time to style my hair properly. Upheld sanitation protocols and made sure clients understood the maintenance for their specific hair type/style. 10/10 would reccomend again!

I had a lovely experience here. Honestly I am one of those people who have a hard time trusting anyone with my hair so the fact that I'm rating this place 5 stars is a big deal. The staff are lovely and friendly, and my Stylist (Taylor-Ann) was an absolute angel. I only came in for a haircut not really expecting much but got a wash, scalp massage, and style included in the cut! This is a top quality salon and I recommend it to anyone looking for a pampering hair cut. My hair has life again!

Andrea never disappoints! Fantastic stylist. Always listens to what you want and suggests what style would suit your hair texture. Never have had a bad haircut with her. Will fix something if you're not 100% happy or want it changed. Book in advance though! She's super busy and spots fill up fast!

I actually stumbled upon Ivory Noir by accident. I have walked passed the complex Ivory Noir is located in on 102 Ave and roughly 105 St downtown Edmonton so many times but never thought to stop in. I guess if I am being honest, I sometimes have an aversion to salon spas cause there are many times when I have felt I got fairly subpar service for a astronomical price just because the business was marketed as "salon spa" but this wasn't the case here. Hooray! I have gotten my hair cut from Holly several times now and I have always left pleased and I felt like I got my monies worth. First off, I LOVE the decor of Ivory Noir. I love black and gold color schemes on basically anything so the clean black stylish stations with a large black and gold mirror in contrast with the shining white just looks very modern, clean and appeasing to me. It has always been spotless when I have gone in there, which can be kind of surprising as people are constantly getting their hair done. Holly has always been super pleasant, has been helpful in helping me choose a style for my hair and is open to suggestions. My most recent service was just the other day, post covid re-opening, and it was really nice to see Ivory Noir had taken so many extra pre-cautions to keeping their clients and staff safe while maintaining a easy but professional environment. I have never had a color treatment there so I can't really speak to that part of the services. I think my only disappointment is that Ivory Noir does not offer perms, but I guess many places don't nowadays either. I think just cause I liked the environment and I like my stylist, it would have been nice to get both a cut and a perm all in one shot opposed to having to find somewhere else to get the perm treatment. Overall though, I am so happy to have found a salon and a stylist that I am happy with and I feel is worth the price!

My mom called to make an appointment here to get her hair cut by a lady that does the Diva hair cuts. However the lady was unfortunately going on maternity leave so we found a different salon that has a Diva styalist on hand. I know that majority of people don't give 5 stars (or any stars) to companies they haven't been to but the person on the phone was honest about recommending another stylist at their salon to cut naturally curly hair. Even though I haven't been to this salon I feel they deserve 5 stars simply for their honesty. Not many stylists can cut naturally curly hair properly; even though they say they can.

I have been going to this Salon for about 4 years now. Before I was a box die kinda girl who never would rarely go to a salon because no one could ever do what I envisioned to my hair, but the first time here I was hooked. Leah (one of the hairdressers) is amazing with blondes, her toning is always on point as well as the highlights. I don't even need to tell her what I want done anymore, I just go in and sit down and she always makes it look amazing. I put all my trust in her with no hesitation! Also, it helps that the salon is beautiful!

Hands down BEST salon in the city. Andrea takes so much pride in her work, and puts her clients hair health first before anything else. I have seen her salon flourish since she opened up the salon 9 years ago, and she continues to amaze me with her work. Like usual, she did an amazing cut and balayage color on me yesterday, and I am so happy with it. I initially went to Ivory Noir for colour correction. The first attempt failed completely and I was still charged for it. Six months later a different colour correction method was used and it completely destroyed my hair. I now have broken hair pieces everywhere, a much shorter haircut than I asked for, my hair has been thinned out from all the breakage and I still have the same colour as I had before! I was also charged for having my hair destroyed. I have never had such a bad hair service as the one I recently had at Ivory Noir. I was hoping for great results and wish I could leave a great review to match them. While the staff has always been nice to me, the terrifying results are greater than the hospitality. I also truly do not understand how I could be charged the amount I was charged to have my hair completely destroyed the way it was. The least they could do after such an experience is not charge for the damage that will now take me years to grow out!

After not having my hair cut for about a year, due to anxiety and not being sure what to do with my newly wavy hair I was really excited to get a Deva Cut. I got a regular hair cut from a stylist that did not seem interested in my hair journey and left with it looking virtually the same as when I came in. After a YEAR of having no hair cuts. I also had to go home and clean up my own neck area as it was not done. Imagine my disappointment. The stylist had a teaching opportunity, a selling opportunity and was completely lacking. If you have curly or wavy hair, go elsewhere.

I’ve been going to Ivory Noir for 3+ years now and always leave happy and pampered. Special shoutout to Reilley as she is my regular stylist and always helps me make the best decisions when it comes to cuts and colours. They never pressure with products and the front end staff are always very welcoming and friendly. I’ve also had a few cuts with other stylists and they are also great. They have adjusted according to the current COVID situation and I felt safe and comfortable during my visit! Would recommend to anyone!

Will be back soon. March 2018: I been to many salon in Edmonton as I change my look very often. I would like to give a shout out to Taylor-Ann, she did a amazing job with my hair. If you need a Deva cut she is the one to go. She knows what to do with the curly/wavy hair. She understand and takes her time understanding what a client is looking for. I've been going here for over a year and a half now and thus haven't had a bad hair day for a year and a half. I've had an amazing experience every time. Kelsey helped me develop a fantastic style for my fine hair, and even got bangs working on me perfectly! I couldn't believe it would work but she has great experience, skill, and instincts and my hair is now the best its ever been. I also had a great experience with Jen - when I told her I was trying to grow another inch or two, she assessed that my ends were healthy enough to do a treatment instead of a trim, told me the prices right away, and just fixed up areas that had grown unevenly. A lot of places would give you a cut anyway just to rack up the charge - but not here, its about the hair first and foremost. I don't find that they push products at all, which is great and one of the reasons I keep coming back. They also have these adorable salon dogs. Every business needs shop pets.

Disclaimer: I have type 3b (curly) hair. My hair stylist, Holly, was very unprofessional. She clearly did not know how to properly style my curly hair. I heard her asking another stylist if she should mix the leave in with the gel. I had to tell her what leave in I use in my hair since she did not know which one to use. I came in for a colour but I was disappointed when I got home and took a close look in the mirror to find that my hair colour was patchy and some of my previous highlights were still visible. She also offered to cut my hair for an additional cost but when I seen her technique (not cutting my hair dry) I declined. If you have curly hair, please stay far away from this salon! We are in 2020, it should be every hair stylists responsibility to know how to style different hair types! I am very disappointed.

I wouldn't normally review a salon after one visit but my experience with Taylor Ann was so amazing I feel I must. I have issues with slow growth so my cuts must be exactly what I ask for. Not only did she listen but the cut was very presice, a sign of a talented cutter. I have been to many downtown salons and paid double the price for cuts that weren't as good and with stylists who disregard my instructions. I don't impress easily but Taylor Ann exceeded my expectations. My only criticism with the salon is that they don't offer free clean ups. Every other salon I've been to does. I will be a faithful client if my future experiences are as good as my first. Thank you.

Ivory Noir is such a classy salon. They know how to treat their clients. You feel welcome from the moment you walk in the door. They have such skilled stylists that it doesn’t matter who you see, you are guaranteed you will look great when you leave. I have not found a better salon in the Edmonton area. I originally found Andrea when I had a cut and colour from another salon that was so bad I needed colour correction. I went on Facebook and asked for advice. People mentioned her name. I checked her out and saw some great reviews so I decided to take the chance. Best move I made! She corrected the colour and gave me a super cut. That mistake was the beginning of great hair for me.
