Salon for the first time today around 11:30am despite the fact that my appointment was at 6pm... the atmosphere was niice, staff were welcoming, and I'm glad that Allan was available and ready to roll. This is a clean and bright salon. I've never had a bad men's cut here, they're very accommodating on times and are open late. More senior stylists charge more for their time, which is understandable and fair. I've been Getting my hair cut here for a couple years now.

I have been going to the salon for 2 plus years now. December when I went, I got my usual, but noticed the colour wasn't as light as usual. I let it slide, thinking perhaps I needed to do a full head of foils instead of partial (although I never needed to do that before). Anyway! 2 months pass and I go back for my usual foils and tone (this time a full head to get back to that light, white, icy blonde-I stated this when I sat in the chair as spring was coming and my whole head needed to be brightened up since Decembers appointment didn't go as usual). I get my whole head foiled and I'm sitting at the sink getting the bleach washed out. My hair dresser had a trainee helping her, so she was going to take out the developer and toner she needed. My hair dresser told her what numbers she needed and the trainee she said "oh, we don't have any of that left" SO, my hairdresser said "Use XYZ, that will work". I was a little worried, but she knew for the two years I went there that I want that icy blonde, so I'm sure she knows what she's doing. BOY! Was I sadly mistaken...as I went back to the chair and looked in the mirror it was DARK, SO DARK! I waited, hoping it only looked dark because my hair was wet. No, it dried and my hair looked BLACK to a person who is used to an ICY blonde. If you're out of toner, there are ways to make what a client needs. I went home and texted her telling her I was thinking about it and this isn't what I've been getting, nor, what I would ask for and that I was very upset!! She told me it would wash out and get light and if not we could cleanse and re-tone. OK, let's think about this for a second, please. I have to wash my hair multiple times to get a colour I want to achieve? That I SHOULD have gotten in chair for a service I paid for, in a salon?!?!?!???? I wash and wash, I use dawn dish soap, I use lemons, I do anything and everything I can (that I shouldn't have to), but I'm trying. I'm still so unhappy with how dark it is and how baffled I was that this happened. I call back the salon, Elizabeth answers the phone and I explain to her what went wrong and that I was told I could get a cleanse and re-tone to resolve the issue. I explained it was supposed to be an icy blonde, but I got brown. Which she replies with "Well maybe your version of blonde and hers are different, maybe you should have brought a picture." Appalled, I explained I have been seeing the same hairdresser for 2 years and I didn't think it was necessary to bring a picture anymore. I went back, already feeling alienated. I get my hair effosoled to remove the dark toner, then she mixes up a toner to re-tone, and I also hear talk of a cocktail, which means she used something with a lift in it and lifted my natural hair. This ruined my natural base colour. It turned my natural low lighting to orange!!! I stated it looked orange when she dried it. So, ONCE AGAIN, I'm left to go home and try to deal with this disaster on my head myself!!! I have never been so disappointed and disheartened by a service in my life. Surely, I would imagine a company like Fresh and Co has the ability to save what products are used on a customers file. I have attached pictures so you can see the evolution of how the service went down and obviously the same toners aren't used each time. The product should have been the same each time. The result should have been the same each time. It's baffling!!! There is also a picture of my orange roots after it was "fixed". Ha. The manager called me and offered my next service for free. Which I appreciate, but I no longer trust my hair with that salon, unfortunately. I am writing this 2 months later because I am still so angry. My hair hasn't been this damaged and in awful condition for many years. It is fried and it is cracking off constantly. I've never had to spend so much money on treatments in my life. My hair is still orange and I have to get colour correction done elsewhere (for big money) when my hair is finally healthy enough again. Lesson learned: bring pictures, ladies! Always! Good luck.

Every experience here has been a good one! Beautiful salon, clean. All of the staff is friendly and I'm offered a drink (tea, coffee, water) every time. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. My favourite stylist is Gezelle. She continues to impress me every time and is able to do exactly what I have in mind. She is super friendly and easy-going. She works with precision and has a great eye for detail. She is great at taking your ideas and tweaking them with suggestions to make your look come together. I highly recommend her and the salon in general!!

Just here to give a good review for Vuthana. I've been getting my hair dyed with him for almost a year now since he was at his old place. The fact that my hair is still healthy from all the bleaching that I do speak volume to Vuthana's care and knowledge when it comes to hair and hair health. If I have any hair concerns or questions I can always get answers from Vuthana. He's super friendly and make the long process of getting your hair done so much more fun. I def recommend him for hair styling and hair dying!

I don't go to salon that often since it's hard to find a reliable place. Also, most important, sometimes I just want to change style but not sure what is suitable for me (Asian's hair could be abit different). After some research, I decided to try Fresh & Co with Allan. I asked for his recommendation. He provided right enough information and I actually learn alot! At the end, I cut my hair alittle below shoulder and even perm my hair! Turns out great!!!

This was my first time going to the Salon. The staff were all very nice - unfortunately I had my infant daughter with me since my child care fell through. I asked for a trim (no change to length). My daughter cried through my entire haircut which lasted about 20 minutes - eventually I thought it best to leave after my trim was over. I was charged around $100 with no style/no product (again for a shampoo and trim). The website says women’s cuts start at $49.00- I would be curious to know what this cut would entail... I didn’t say anything but I did find the price pretty outrageous for a trim that I (in hindsight) could have done at Supercuts. I doubt I will be returning to this salon in the future. Very disappointing. In response to your pricing method - I called the number of the Salon to book an appointment and the only person available was the stylist who I was booked with - I was not given a choice regarding pricing or the seniority level. Just as an aside if you are going to market a specific price for a haircut (per the Website: “ Ladies HaircutFrom $49 Includes wash, scalp massage, and professional blowout. Additional fee will be charged with any curling or flat iron styling.”) perhaps you should be a bit more forthcoming about this method so people are not shocked at what they are being charged at the end of a trim! Based on the negative reviews - this appears to be a pattern at this establishment.

Allan cut my daughter's hair and even though she wanted a simple trim he took the time and care to give her a meticulous cut and added small details to frame in her face and soften the cut for better movement. We were both impressed and pleased with the end results. Allan is extreamly technically skilled. In addition to executing flawlessly, he is also knowledgable in understanding styling and how to bring out the best in a cut but only to the right comfort level of the customer. On top of that, he is passionate, hardworking and also a very kind person. I would not hesitate to recommend Allan for your hair cuts or styling needs.

All of the staff are very welcoming and kind. They even offered to get me som cough medicine while I was in the chair! I see Alan, and have for the last year. He is so gentle and thorough. He really takes the time to make sure the color is just right and that the cut is exactly what you want. They don't push product on you and they make sure you are totally comfortable with everything they are doing. I made a major change (for me) and Alan made sure I knew how to style it after, with the items and routine I have already. I love my new short hair !

I have been going to this salon for years and when my original hairdresser left i had switched which led to a disaster. Aspen who is supposedly at a higher level at the salon messed up my hair and the cutting, that when i tried a new salon they had showed me how uneven the cutting was and how she had not even given me any layers like i had asked. I was really mad to figure out how i was cheaped out and really would not recommend it. The unbelievable price was all a scam the hairdressers dont know what they are doing, and i am sad to say that this salon has lost my business.

I've had many appointments at the fresh and co in Windermere and I must say Krista is AMAZING! When I first went in I showed her a picture of what I'd like and she worked with me to get the best results and it was perfect, exactly how I showed her, after that I trusted her judgment so I would go in and give her a vague idea of what I'd like done (for example I wanted to go dark a couple of months ago) and she helped me choose the shade and tones that would compliment my face, skin and eyes. She works with you and gives you what you want. Also everyone there is super friendly and professional. I've only had exceptional service at this nice and clean locations. She is an amazing talented hair stylist. Sylvia right away suggested and advised the appropriate technique of applying all over solid hair color, how it actually should look on the hair and that my hair had unevenness in color proportions. Being a hairstylist myself for many years, I understand some places do charge more than others, so they come off as more "higher end" salons. That being said I expected better customer service and after consultation I didn't expect the price to be $50 over the quoted price of $284 (full head foils). I even said to her after the consultation I'll just do partial foils because the price was steep but she did the full anyway. During the service she didn't say a word to me, didn't try to make conversation and seemed quite cold and kind of awkward, never asked if I wanted a coffee nothing. Vira was the stylist. The shampoo was quick with no massage, not even a half ass one. These things matter if you're wanting to keep clientele and charging them high end prices. She then tells me she lightly used a rinse for my previous balayage ends that were over toned, I did not ask for that and I felt my ends were not over toned because I liked them ashy. The highlights came out chunky, some didn't even go to the root (her sections were too thick) and it was a mixture of yellow and orange tones. She maybe left the toner on for a minute. She curled my hair as requested but my hair was still damp in some areas, even mentioned that the hair won't curl if it's still damp. She just glanced at me and continued to curl the hair. I felt like she was trying to rush me. After all that I went home and has to re tone my hair myself and it was much more to my liking. I know this is long but I've never wrote a review before and spending $330 for awful customer service and sub par highlights I was quite upset. Should've stuck to the place I always have gone to.

My hair has never felt so healthy and shiny! She also does my kids hair and they love her as much as I do! My daughter finds funky hairstyles from magazines and her Monster High dolls which Amy nails every time. She gave my son a trendy hipster hairstyle which was amazing. She better not go anywhere because she is so talented at her craft that I don't think I would find another that I would gel with so easily. The staff are just as amazing. They always have a smile on there face and ready to help if needed. Such a positive atmosphere…makes getting my hair done enjoyable! The awesome music is just a bonus :-)

I’ve been to the fresh & co on Ellerslie and loved it there! This time, I came to the one in Windermere. I was very concerned about not wanting any length taken off, as it has taken me 3 years to finally have this length of hair. We did a consultation regarding lightening my hair and I was fully aware that it may take a couple appointments. She started foiling my hair and half way through, it started burning really bad. I needed the foils out immediately so she started taking them out. My head was literally SMOKING and I was in tears from how bad it was hurting. I tried to take some out myself and the foils were too hot to even touch. I asked her if my hair was burning off and she said “no, but it’s a bit damaged so we will have to take about an inch off.” Ok it is what it is... I left the place in tears because i hated how I looked and was upset about the experience. The receptionist even said “At least it’s lighter than it was when you got here.” Lol so rude. But on the drive home is when I noticed that half my hair was missing. CHUNKS were missing!!! She burned half my hair off and didn’t even say anything when I asked! We called the next day and they were nice enough to refund the $350, but now 2 weeks later.. my head still hurts and is covered in SCABS! I’m depressed. I’ve lost all my confidence. There’s honestly nothing that can be done to make me feel better about what happened. And after talking to people, I’ve learned that 2 other people have had a similar experience with burning their hair off at this place. Save your money.

Today, I got a trim, an amazing hair treatment and colour correction with Krista... OMG WHAT A DOLL SHE IS! She is such a personable person, super sweet and wow does she ever know what shes doing and what she is talking about! I came in with 3 different hair colours on my head. My roots (natural), a bright red, and an orangey blonde colour. I was looking for a natural colour as close to my natural hair colour as possible. We went through the options and found what was best for MY HAIR after talking through what I had done with my hair before. HONESTLY, I moved to Edmonton and havent found one hair dresser that I liked and I will NOT be switching at all! Wow, my day was so made today and when I left, I HAD GUYS CHECKING ME OUT IN THEIR CARS, AND IN STORES, AND AT WORK! OMG... what a difference a colour and cut can do! LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE HER! Amazing!! I haven't been to tha salon to do my hair but I had an interview with owner.his name is Sam !..I can say he is not profetional at all.in my interview he asked about my last job and trun out that he knowers about my ex boss .he start talking bad about them,and at the end he called his employees to come and listen to our conversation about how much I used to get paid,and that was very uncomfortable !..at the end with all the expriance and licence that I had he dint hire me.but he hires people with blond hair and light skin instead.with no license.I would say expriance dose not matter as long as you are light.

Few days ago I got hair colour done at one of the renowned place, long story short, in the name of balayage they gave me black roots and blond ends, two different shades of the spectrum, I was left with a demarcation line, in panic I used hair colour remover, which did more harm then good, next day I searched and searched and came across fresh and co Salon Ellerslie Road, Joanna (manager) is such a wonderful person, I explained her my whole situation and she immediately booked me in on the very same day, the moment I stepped in I felt so welcome, Sam the (owner) is such a kind person, he listened to me carefully, checked my hair with Carmen (stylist) who is such a wonderful person by the way, they then explained what can be done to fix the orange and ginger tones in my hair, they also curated a haircare routine specifically fit for my hair needs, All in all it was great experience, am glad I went to fresh and co. Thanks so much Sam, Joanna, Carmen and all the wonderful ladies there, you guys are amazing.

I am beyond happy with my hair cut! After losing my stylist of over 10 years, I have been extremely unhappy with my hair. As a woman who prides herself on her hair and takes great pains to look after it, this has been frustrating to the point of tears. On the recommendation of a co-worker, I booked an appointment with Stephanie (a master stylist). At the beginning of the appointment, Stephanie took the time to genuinely ask me about my hair. She wanted to know about its texture, if I've noticed any changes, how do I look after it, how I style it daily, what products I use, what I like best/least about my current hair, my scalp health, what I am hoping for from the appointment...and then proceeded to give me the exact cut I prefer, complete with beautifully blended layers. I am so impressed by Stephanie's talent, skill and professionalism. She actually listened to me and respected me as her client. She far exceeded my expectations and, though I am discerning with my praise, I would not hesitate to recommend Stephanie to anyone. The salon itself is beautiful and very clean (I think it was all white so the cleanliness is pretty apparent). It's open, full of sunshine and the staff was professional and friendly. The price was not anything out of the ordinary for what I expected for my hair length. In fact, considering the location (and that it's a Kerastase salon) I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price. No one pushed products on me but they were displayed in plain sight for me to peruse if I wanted to. I definitely enjoyed my salon experience and will be returning again. Thank you.

Was going here for years and saw the same hairstylist. Was always a 5/5 experience. I am writing this review based on my last experience here. Had a haircut, which I loved (as always). Then she proceeded to curl my hair. Did not ask me if I wanted my hair curled, just started curling away. I thought maybe she had extra time and wanted to style it. I went to pay for my wash and haircut, but they also added $15 for curling my hair (a service I did not request). As much as I loved coming here for my haircut, I have not returned because of this.

Extremely overpriced. You also get charged for what you haven't asked for. They put something on you head to wash it and then charge your $36 for it without asking for your permission beforehand. Make sure as they talk to you just ask for the price, or just go to Forever Young across the street which has more ethical and reliable professionals.

I've been going to this Fresh and Co for a while now and the salon itself is quite nice - bright, clean, and upscale. It's really beautiful and reasonably priced for the great quality work you get. The real draw for me though, as I said, is one particular stylist there, Magda. I am always THRILLED with the work she does! She's super creative and does amazing color like no other stylist I've seen - and I've been through almost every color - blond, black, red, blue, purple, pink, you name it. I'm pretty picky about my hair, and have had some really awful experiences elsewhere; I won't go anywhere else now! I love that I can go in and give an obscure explanation about what I'm looking for, and Magda can work with that and create something that suits my personality, is easy to style and super fun to play with between cuts. I also find that she's good at making sure that as my hair grows out, it still looks awesome.

This is the worse place ever !!! From the minute I walked in to the min I left everything was a disaster. The lady that washed my hair left the shampoo still soaking in barely washed it out threw conditioner barely washed it out. Got me to the seat. Cut my hair way shorter then I asked for I was schocked when I realized was little too late. Now I was just fuming but leaving now to go pay. On my way out I only had a larger bill to pay with. The lady at front offered to give me over 15 bucks in rolls of loonies. She said just like that. Not even bother to open it up. Ridiculous that a big place like that would have no change. Then I told her fine give me my bill back I would like to pay visa and she told me point blank I can't !! By this time I was in schock. Few other ppl around were looking at us coz me and the receptionist were arguing. I didn't want two rolls of loonies in change. I have never had such a bad experience at any hair saloon. Disgusted. Never again wud step in this dirty gross place !!!
