I’ve been going to see Ainsleigh for quite a few years now!! Not only is she an amazing hairstylist but a great friend! ???? She listens, asks questions, and takes on a new challenge every time I show up! She isn’t scared to do her own thing... knowing that I flip from platinum blonde to brown throughout the year! She takes great care of both me and my daughter! The ladies at Elixir make a gal feel welcomed coming in and like a celebrity when getting out of the chair, often times taking pics of hair progress and posting final masterpieces on social media! ????

I had the pleasure of working with Taylor a long time ago, so I was thrilled to find out that she was a hairdresser in St. Albert. I knew then that she should be my hairstylist. I recently graduated from University and with COVID, I lost out on attending my convocation, so I decided to go and do something for myself for all my hard work. Taylor did an amazing job! The cut was perfect and exactly what I needed, doesn't even feel like I got a cut and the colour was the good transition from going from being solid black for the past 2 to 3 years, to having some colour. Once the holiday season is over, I plan on going back to see Taylor! What impressed me a lot was how all the girls worked as a team and helping each other and I know I picked a good salon to go to! Although the salon is clean and modern in appearance, I was generally unimpressed with the product selection at Elixir. I followed my stylist from a previous salon where there has never been problems with color product. At Elixir, there was coverage problems both appointments. Will not be returning.

I've been going to Elixir for a couple of years now. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. The salon is spotless. I've had my hair cut by two stylists and both were very attentive to what I was hoping for. I used to feel quite stressed going for a hair cut but now I never worry and find it super relaxing, knowing I will get exactly what I am hoping for and a good quality cut that suits me. I get lots of compliments on my healthy hair now!

This was my first time at Elixir Hair Salon. My mom and i were greeted very nicely. I had Alanna the owner. She did a consult with me. Showed some pictures and she gave me some ideas. I got what I had wanted! She was so funky and fun! My mom saw a lovely lady named Kristen. She did a consult; and my mom was so happy! I would recommend this place to any family and friends. If you're looking for a great salon with cheaper prices than other salons but with better quality work this is the place for you! I spent the past 5 years at a salon where I paid an arm and a leg for a cut and color, I never really noticed what they did when they cut my hair, it always looked the same when I came out (with the exception of my bangs) and the color could be hit or miss. But then a friend told me to try out Elixir! The environment is really upbeat, clean, open, trendy and inviting. Cassie is my stylist and she blew me away with her knowledge on color and what would work with my skin tone as well as my face shape when it came time to cut my hair. I wanted to go red and that's a really big step for me, I love red but red doesn't necessarily love my skin tone...When Cassie was done though - I was thrilled! Red is my new fall color! The entire team at Elixir is really personable, knowledgeable and upbeat...Sometimes going into a salon can be a little intimidating but coming to Elixir feels like coming home to hang out among friends - doesn't get much better than that!

As other reviewers have shared, I too had major coverage issues with the Redken product used at this salon. Within a week of my appointment, the color was extremely faded, grey root was visible and required a total re-do. I also later learned that the salon owner expected my stylist to charge me for the color used (she did not charge me), even though it was their faulty product. I would not recommend this salon to anyone since the owner clearly doesn't care that her product is defective and expects clients to be charged regardless.

So i went in to get my hair cut n styled n was so not impressed with the service. I told the stylist that i wanted my bangs cut, when dry to be btwn my eyebrows and eyes. She cut them above my eyesbrows wet so when they dried they were half way up my forehead. So now i have to hairspray my so called bangs back til they grow out. I also asked for layers so i could pull my hair forward for the wispy look and she seemed like she had no idea what to do. Very unprofessional if you ask me.

I was extremely unhappy with my appointment, charged 225.00 for a color that was not even close to what we had discussed, and than a secondary appointment which was even worse. I have no color or shine to my hair. At no point did they work as a team and pull experiences, but it was evident that no one knew how to fix this. I now have orange and brassy yellow damaged hair. It was to be a chrome or even a nice grey, nope! No calls to see what they could do, just watched me walk out of the salon with a color I cannot even describe. No christmas party or christmas pictures this year.

Had an appt with Taylor today and absolutely love my hair! I had dark brown hair with some sun damage that left my natural hair looking red and copper. I wanted to change it up with some balayage but wanted to tone down the copper. I was very anxious about hair damage as I’ve never dyed my hair before. Taylor was great at slowing lifting my hair and getting me the perfect caramel-honey blonde without any copper! So happy with my hair :) thanks Taylor! She’s very knowledgeable and the salon is very clean and beautiful. I had such a relaxing head massage too and all the products used smelled and felt so great on my hair

Haircut and color was ok - nothing special and a bit chunky in some areas. I am curious now since I noted that my hair faded fast. I didn’t think much at first but now that I see other reviews I am wondering if product fault is to blame. Service as also quite expensive at $270 for cut and color. I would think about going back if it wasn’t for the high cost.

I have been seeing Mayson at Elixir for almost a year. Honestly, she is incredible...not only as a person but she really listens to her clients and what they want and makes it happen. My first visit was for a colour correction on my hair from a different salon & stylist. Mayson brought me back to my roots with my original hair colour like I asked, plus brought all the life back to my hair to ensure it is as healthy as it can be . I wouldn’t think of letting anyone else work on my hair, I also took my daughter for her first salon experience with Mayson and she adored her. If I could rate higher than 5....I would! I have had my hair cut at this place of business more then once. I would not recommend this place to anyone as the owner treats her staff with no respect. She speaks down to them and causes a scene in the middle of the salon while it’s full of clients. It is a very uncomfortable and very unprofessional. This is not the way to run a business and very childish. ???????? will not recommend this place to anyone and I will spread the word about you guys!

My husband and I go to Elixir for our usual haircuts. Kristen handles our fine hair and low maintenance requests wonderfully each time. She has recommended products for specific issues such as breakage that have worked well. Since we have found good value from the services at Elixir, we inquired there first about booking hair and makeup appointments for myself and others for our wedding day. Having the salon to ourselves lead to a relaxed atmosphere. The stylists (Kristen, Leanna and Tanis) did a fantastic job of a variety of styles that reflected our personalities and preferences. All stayed looking great through a busy day of celebration. Jillyn did our makeup in a way that was a more polished version of our usual look. She explained what she was doing along the way and her sanitation regime for her makeup brushes and products. We will continue to use Elixir for the high quality and professional behaviour of the staff and clean and cheerful salon.
