Kate and Kayla took care of hair and makeup for my wedding day. They arrived on time to the hotel, and finished up with all the girls, including myself, with lots of time to spare before the ceremony. Hair and makeup turned out beautifully. Both stylists were very conscientious and patient in making sure we were all satisfied with the final product. I strongly recommended this duo for wedding day hair and makeup.

My favourite hair salon in Banff by far! I just love the vibe and atmosphere of this salon/gallery. I have long hair and don't cut it often so was really nervous but Meg was a bit of a magician and I couldn't be happier with my new look! I vow to get my hair done more often now that I have found the best hairdresser I have ever come across. I am addicted to the Aveda product as well. When I was getting my hair done there was a bride getting her hair and make up done for her big day and she was in tears she was so happy with the work the ladies at Botega had done. I highly recommend this salon to anyone in or passing through Banff. Quality stylists here hands down.

LOVE. I worked for Kate (the owner) a few years ago at Botega so I may be a little biased haha, but the talent that comes out of this salon is remarkable. Kate is always taking classes to keep her staff learning and motivated and is constantly looking for ways to enhance your experience at the salon in a unique and memorable way. Everyone is always upbeat and fun. Good music. Nice vibes. Love that she usually has artwork up for sale in the salon too! There are alot of hair salons in Banff but go see Kate! You will be in good hands...x

When we decided to have a destination wedding in Banff - with 11 ladies in the bridal party - we knew we needed a full-service salon to take care of us. Our (fabulous) wedding planner at the Fairmont immediately told us to get with Kate at Botega Salon. Not only did Kate and her team reserve her entire salon for our wedding party - she helped us cater in food and beverages and had it all set up prior to our arrival. They worked with me months in advance to coordinate a hair and makeup schedule that worked with my agenda and were flexible on how to manage payments for all of my friends and family. I also appreciated how responsive they were to my emails and questions along the way. We even did a trial run for hair and makeup a few months prior when I was visiting - and it was perfect. Very reassuring for a bride planning a wedding from Houston, Texas! The most important part were the results...my bridesmaids LOVED their updos and makeup....and also being able to spend time in quaint, downtown Banff getting ready for the wedding in the Botega Salon. It's the perfect location to walk around while waiting for others to get their hair/makeup done as well. The icing on the cake for me? At the 11th hour, my makeup plans fell through for the Rehearsal Dinner - and even though Kate and her team were completely booked that evening - the made arrangements for Kate to do my make up. I can't imagine having had any other salon work with my wedding party...and every time I go back to Banff, i'll be swinging in to say 'hi' to Kate and her fabulous team of stylists. (And her cute, little yorkie, Charles, too of course.)

Had a fantastic experience with Botega for my wedding day, with 8 bridesmaids, two moms and myself, all of the stylists were very fun, friendly and efficient, saving us a lot of stress on the day. They also let us bring in beverages and food while we were getting ready. Thanks so much especially Kate and Kayla who looked after me. I absolutely loved my hair and makeup, it was just perfect for my big day!

Went in and asked the lady how much would my hair cost me ( explain what I wanted ) wanted to ask around before as I just moved there and was looking for a good hairdresser. Ask if she could change my hair to red, showed her an old picture of my red hair before. She said she could do it ( pretty easy process anyway ) asked her the price she said 100$ which is fair. Said I didn't want a haircut for now. In the end I ended up having to pay 240$ for Brown hair, for a haircut that I said no to. Apparently she said she had to. Well when she cut a TINY little bit of my hair that took her .5 of a second I didn't say anything cause I thought maybe something was wrong with my hair haha. No no she charged me 55$ for the "haircut". 160$ for the color cause apparently it wasn't enough, my hair aren't long at all?! told her I was a bit surprise of the hair color cause it was Brown.. Not raspberries !!! And she said with a couple of wash it would become the color I wanted. What a silly comments. And got annoyed with me in the end saying to me that I wasn't her client yet so that is the price no discount or anything. I don't want a discount I wanted a good hairdresser to have my red hair as I wanted them to be. Never ever again will I go there.

I was visiting Banff on the New Years Eve and wanted a quick hair cut and beard services and I just walked into this salon and despite their busy appointments they accommodated me pretty quick. Now talking about my stylist, Terri , she is a perfectionist. She analyzed my hair and beard, then recommended couple of styles and then did very patiently and to the point what I asked for. No wonder they are voted the best hair salon for 2 years in Banff, when they have such talented stylists. I definitely recommend this place and Terri in Banff.

The best in the Bow Valley! Meg is the only stylist to give me exactly what I want time after time. I was convinced my hair couldn't go blonde after years of other stylists giving me (unwanted) copper highlights, but Meg has always pulled off the perfect shade of blonde for my fine hair. She stays up to date with the latest techniques and info from Aveda and cares about the health of my hair.

Such a disappointment. Just listen to this. I made an online appointment. I arrived 5 min before the scheduled time and was asked to come back 30min later. I agreed came back 5min before the scheduled time. All I was told was: sorry you just lost your spot, those guys just came in. Would you like to re-book for tomorrow? What would you do. All I said was most certainly not. This is some of the most unprofessional behaviour I have experienced in Banff. I did not even get an apology for wasting my time. All I can say is don’t go there.

I've been a loyal customer of Botega since Kate Mahoney the owner took over 3 years ago. The Stylists are excellent and I appreciate the fact they are always taking courses, going in competitions, and travelling to classes which keep them at the cutting edge of their artistic profession. I rely on the girls at Botega for any my hair and make-up needs and the outcome is always fantastic. I recommend this salon to all my family & friends, in fact my sister who lives 2 hours away books her hair appointment with Botega every time she visits Banff.

My maid of honour and I had our hair done here for my wedding this past weekend and were very happy with the service and how everything turned out! Super friendly staff and the owner Meg is very accommodating! I was worried to book wedding hair and makeup without a trial (we are from out of town) but thankfully everything turned out great. Meg gave us very natural looks which was nice as I was worried about looking "theatrical". Would definitely recommend!

I thought aveda color was supposed to be good?! Maybe it was the stylist but she turned my highlites grey. I asked for an ash color and thats not how it ended up! I didn't have the heart to say anything at the time but i can't stand it!!!! Now i need to find a salon to fix it. I hope btown can do something with it!! never again!

Absolutely amazing service! When i got there, my hair was very damaged and overprocessed from bleaches, dry and brittle... A total disaster. They saved my hair!! I couldn't be any happier. their products and incredible talent saved my hair from needing to be all chopped off. They even made me tea. Sure its a bit pricy but its worth every penny, i promise.

Kat is a miracle worker! I came to her 2 years ago with short, broken, thin and damaged hair. Kat gave me the best advice how to fix this. Throughout the 2 years I have always gone to Katherine for regular haircuts. She always does an incredible job and we have a laugh along the way. Nat (hair) and Kat (makeup) were punctual and delightful additions to the pre-wedding celebrations. Both provided the perfect balance of listening to what my maid of honour and I wanted and providing advice on what looks good and what would last in the potentially stormy weather. I got my hair cut from Michelle, she was so kind, happy, and just a lovely person overall, as was the rest of the staff. Definitely go here. Booking Bodega for my wedding hair and make up was the best thing I did for my wedding <3 My salon in Vancouver messed up my colour appointment prior to leaving for Banff and Bodega made extra time to do a colour before my hair and make up. On the day the snow was so mad and everything went awry but Bodega made time for me, was cool with me coming in late and even tried to help find my fiance who was stuck in the snow storm find a suit! Kat did my hair for my elopement in sept 2020. It was only me and my husband for the day and Kat really pumped me up and made me feel super special on my day. I didn’t have time for a hair trial so she worked with me every step of the way to make sure I loved my hair. My makeup was amazing and I’ve never felt more beautiful in my entire life. I was sad the day was over and had to de-glam because I felt so beautiful. I would highly recommend Kat, especially for an elopement!

These ladies were absolutely amazing. They did my bridesmaid’s hair (pictured) and my (the bride’s) hair and make-up. Both ladies were very professional and talented, and put us all at ease on wedding day. Specifically, Kat was awesome - she was super flexible and worked with me to create an end result that we both loved. Our trial didn’t quite meet what I wanted, so we revamped it on wedding day and it ended up BEAUTIFUL. She’s super fun and personable too, which definitely helped keep me calm throughout the process. She is also totally open to making adjustments based on feedback - which was so helpful. All around wonderful experience and would definitely recommend!

I hired Botega to be the hair & makeup artist for my elopement in Banff. They did not disappoint! I have natural curly hair and decided to rock my natural curls in a low bohemian messy bun and it look amazing! We also chose airbrush makeup for my wedding party. Services were on point and exceeded our expectations. They were able to come to our suite at the Rimrock and made the experience that more enjoyable/stress free I will definitely use their services again

Having a hard time writing a review under my name, so screw it, I'll use my bfs account. I was extremely impulsive today and decided to lighten my hair more. I've only had bad experiences at the hair salon. This was definitely not a bad memory. Michelle was my hair dresser and I left completely ecstatic. She is a wonderful young woman, and she is extremely talented. I couldn't of asked for a better dye job. I don't think I thanked you enough. My hair is now a beautiful ash blonde!
