The support staff is always pleasant and friendly. I feel the instructors are really good. They spend the time with each student to make sure the service is done right. I appreciate the time it took to have my services done. If I was in a hurry I would go to a spa and pay 5 times as much. Very happy with my experience and with the facility. I hear they are moving to a new location still in West Edmonton Mall adding more programs like make up and hair. I look forward to trying every service. Best Academy in Edmonton by far. I would recommend it to everyone. Great prices too.

Been a few times for various services I agree with acouple of the other reviews Staff can be rude and have an attitude. Some students are affraid of touching clients and have a rough hard touch or hardly touch at all. They dont teach their Students to wisper when massages are being practiced.

I thought I had found a good thing - acrylic nail fill for $15. The service took 2.5 hours!! Nails are bumpy and they look absolutely terrible. Students were not knowledgeable at all!! Poor!! Now I have to pay to get my nails fixed. Don't go!!

Great experience, highly recommend if you desire more personable learning. Lori is an amazing educator if you're looking into the hair program. ✌ (have not enrolled in the Aesthetics yet, but the teachers are all professional and fun to be around)

I recently got a facial, foot reflexology treatment, and aromatherapy massage from the Alberta Academy and loved it! All my esthetician were very professional and knowledgeable, answered my questions with confidence, and I fell asleep during my massage. I will be back!

I came here on business, and decided to go for a facial, and all the girls were so lovely but when I went for a body treatment and noticed that the floor was not build right for water to run into the drains, Saftey Hazard! They need more drains! And I think the girls should be able to wear there hair down in the lunch room!

What a great way to support students and treat yourself. I recommend you go when you are not in a hurry, they take their time, of course they want to do a good job! I have been 3 times and referred friends already, such inexpensive relaxation!

I chose Kristy as my makeup artist for my wedding and she did a phenomenal job! I was so pleased after meeting with her for my consultation and trial makeup application, as she really knows how to make the face pop, while still keeping it natural-looking. She was very accommodating to my busy wedding day schedule and made all my bridesmaids and myself look absolutely beautiful! The makeup stayed on all day and night and she even assisted with tips and products to apply, if my oily skin started to become a problem (which it didn't). Thank you so much, Kristy! I know any bride that comes your way for makeup services will be lucky to have you!

I got a gift certificate for my birthday and decided I wanted to have a pedicure. Maybe it's because I got Gel toes but I didn't get the "usual" pedicure where they soak your feet and scrub them (which is so what I wanted) I used $50 and my feet didn't really feel much different. The upside was my the girl who did my "pedicure". Lindsey was very nice and professional and she did a good job on the gel toes!!

I was quoted $45 for a mani/pedi plus two dollars for gel upgrade. When I went to pay it was $68 because they didn't tell me it was $47 plus $10 for nails x2. They wouldn't budge and then when I got out into the mall I noticed how bad the nail job was. The girls were nice and the colour was thin so I understand another coat was needed. When I went back in they said they couldn't fix it for another two hours or the next day. I was going to a fundraiser in drag so I didn't have time to hang around. I noticed that the instructors didn't come around very often or have much to say. I was considering having electrolysis done here but am too afraid now because of this lack of professionalism. I couldn't even send them an email directly so I have to give them one star on here.

Very rude staff specially the one that does admisions/ register you into the program Kristy can't remember her name but am pretty sure it's her . Her room is in the back and her hair is dark .. Went there they got me to write a test and passed it the first time . I left but wasn't sure if I wanted to do esthetics .Took some time to think about it and went back approximately a month later to finally register, again they got me to retake the same test . The whole time I was there trying to retake the test this admission girl kept chewing gum so loudly to the point where i wasn't able to focus on what I was doing and ends up failing the test . Worst experience everr .. Do yourself a favor and find a better beauty school . The staff are rude , small environment with a very large amount of students ....

Came here for a massage and facial appointment with my sister. The students we had were unprofessional and made the whole experience quite awkward and unpleasant. They were wispering back-and-forth to each other while doing our treatments, they barely said 2 words to us, however, and they made us feel as though we were not welcome and wasting their time. Will not be returning to this location again!

"leslie" sounds like a bully herself. i have been here a few times, and the teachers have always been pleasant & professional. one seemed quite young, i almost thought she was a student, but when she came over to help, i saw she was an instructor.she made sure i was enjoying my service, was very sweet & showed the girl how to blade my feet by physically doing it, it made me feel much more confident in the training they receive. (those blades can be scary!) there was an older teacher who seemed a little rude & harsh with the students, but no issue with myself as a customer. the booking staff seem to always get something wrong, it is not rare to go in for the wrong service or to be booked at the wrong time so DOUBLE check before you complete your call. overall each student i have had has done a good job and i would go back again. dont let someones negative rants turn you away, try it for yourself.

Got the facial / massage package as a gift and was pleasantly surprised when the facial turned out better than expected. The students were polite and friendly, the place was isolated the quiet. The massage was a bit light because I'm use to getting deep tissue massages, but the Swedish one provided was indeed relaxing. My only complaint would really be the choice of music - for a more spa-like relaxing environment, I would recommend more mellow background music (rather than the bells and drums of Christmas music they had going). Overall, very good.

If considering this school to be a good option, think again! way too much money to be in over crowded school having no where to do your services and fighting for rooms. what comes with so many women in a overcrowded school is Drama! worse than being in high school!

This place sucks ! From the time you try to check in till the time you pay, it sucks ! Rude, ignorant receptionist who couldn't care less you are there, too interested in the computer and the coffee cup in the hand to even pay attention to you or the students who are more interested in gossip than service. You think the students gossip??? The teachers do it too !!!! Laughing and making fun of other stuents and the weight of the client. It"s beyond awful ! !!! What's funny is the teacher laughing was fat herself and had gross hair extends!!! Avoid this place ! your self esteem will thank you !!!

I've had my hair done by Nicole many times and she always does a phenomenal job! She always gives me tips so I can get the salon quality everyday. and unlike most other hairstylists she actually cares about keeping my hair HEALTHY, rather than killing it just to make the big bucks. I've come in and constantly seen fabulous work by her. Don't let some snobby customers bad reviews fool you, try them for yourself. They are always very accommodating, and make sure to give you all the information they possibly can so your confident going in to your service. The students there are also very friendly, extremely professional, and work very hard to give you the best they can. I absolutely recommend Alberta Academy and Nicole to everyone and anyone.

The worst place for hair cut and dye. Nicole dyed my hair she was brutally pulling my hair that made me cry. Very unprofessional bumping hair dryer on my head. I will never go there again. My scalp still hurts she should never be allowed to cut or dye hair.

I went to this school to get some service done with my mother and sister. I just had to comment on the superb quality of services we recieved, however, there is a lot to be said for the reception staff. One girl in particular, a pretty blonde girl who we found to be snotty and frankly , downright rude. She barked "have a seat" when we checked in, and couldn't be bothered to even make eye contact. She stood with her back to us while we waited, and after services I waited in the lobby area for my mother. The blonde girl was gone, thank heaven, and another lady was working the desk. She checked in with me, offered me water, and made pleasant conversation while I waited, and even thanked me , and then us, for coming ! As we left, she said, looking forward to seeing you again. Honestly? Because of her, she WILL see us again.

I got to meet Nicole (Hair) and Kristy (makeup) this past summer at a wedding they were working at. I was the photographer working the same wedding. I am late commenting as I am just starting to work on these photos. I am highly disgusted with the way these 2 girls came to work. Hair all a mess, no makeup, stained clothes, boobs hanging out. Very unprofessional. The bride is a very classy girl and these two turned some potentially beautiful photos into redneck photos. This couple and their children will be looking at this album for generations. These 2 made quite the impression. I do not recommend these people. When I called to talk to them shortly after the wedding about considering what they wear for their next wedding they hung up on me. I must say, I took a very gentle approach. They also forgot some rollers in the brides hair, bridesmaids had to fix that after the ceremony. Plus it didn't even last 1hr past the ceremony. They spent hrs on the 5 brides maids and then had 1/2hr to do the bride!!! They had to work on her at the same time!! It was awful.

I was receiving a manicure from one of the students at Alberta Academy. Although it was very nice and the young lady was very professional, the environment around was lacking professionalism! What i found unprofessional, was that i could hear an older woman rudely yelling in an office near by! I would assume about another employee as the conversation seemed harsh and rude! Although the student kindly apologized, this is something I would never expect to hear in a school let alone any job environment. It really disappointed me, and i find myself questioning whether i would go back, strictly because of this reason! Your trying to teach your students to be professional! and this lady (instructor of some sort) is not setting a proper example!

I have been receiving services for several years - pedicures, manicures, facials - but largely waxing. The prices are incredible and the present location very convenient. The staff is pleasant and the students always try their best. No negative experiences to report. I recommend them to family and friends and have given gift certificates as presents on several occasions. I recommend giving them a try!

I had a facial and massage at the Academy recently. The facial was quite pleasant and relaxing, and I liked that they had the steam treatment and blackhead extraction that some facial places don't have. The place is nice, the students were polite and very courteous. The robes and slippers could use some updating. Front end staff during my first visit was a little rude and unfriendly, but the second time was much better; I guess front end is "hit and miss."

I had a facial a month ago here and the student who took me was very pleasant, knowledgeable and made me feel so inviting, everything was great! As the student walked me out the doors to pay the student and I were having a conversation in which was suddenly interrupted by a rude, ignorante stubby short brown haired receptionist who put down the student for asking a question and made her feel embarrassed. As the student said goodbye to me It looks like the receptionist was not only ignorant to the students as well as paying customers. Following me around the store just like i was going to steal and rushing me out of the store like I didn't need to buy any products, she seems to be more interested in trying to make witty snarky comments instead of doing her job. I have been back twice since and each time she makes me feel unwelcome and like I'm an inch tall. I'm sure this isnt the first complaint about her but If she wants to keep her job and stop making this bussiness look bad she needs to start treating customers with respect as well as the students.

They both did an amazing job, very professional and had a lot of passion enjoying what they do. I was very satisfied with the results, and would highly recommend them to my friends and family.

Been going here with the ladies in my family for about 8 years now. Have always had a good experience, the staff are accomodating and generally do a really good job! We like coming here because the prices are fair and we like being guinea pigs for the students. I never want anything too crazy anyways just the standard mani or pedi. I'm sure if you wanted intense nails that are like claws with crazy art then it may not be the spot for you but if you do want something cool from there, book with Amy! She is the best they've got! Amy does spectacular work ???? I recommend going here for sure

The student who did my pedicure was very friendly and put a lot of effort into making sure my pedicure was both relaxing and done correctly. My feet were very soft when I left.
