This Gym is classified in the category of Recreation center.
Nice, new and clean
It’s not easy to tell who is a staff member and who is a customer, I wish the staff wore a uniform so that when you need help, you know who to go to
New building is spacious and modern. Lots of classes, new pool.
Brand new Rec Centre, wonderful facilities including 25m pool, leisure pool and hot tub.
A good new facility, the gym is usually busy in the afternoon though
Attractive recreation facility in the district of North Van with a pool and weight room and various Fitness rooms. More stretching room in the weight room would be ideal.
A lot of great facilities for a good price. Love this place.
Great modern rec centre, hard to park during busy times though!
Parking is a B!
Excellent
Fantastic.new salt.pool
Beautiful new facility and great for all ages. Large pool great for groups and families
Nice new facility
Nice looking facility, but there's never any parking and the gym is poorly laid out.
Love the new rec centre, big, spacious, bright. Really a beautiful space. But someone forgot about the parking...if there is overlap between classes, or soccer, you'll be late...it can be almost impossible to find a spot at times, and all the street parking is gone.
The wifi is working about 60% of the time. I know I have data, but in the basement it is spotty at best so I rely on wifi....when it works :(
They did a great job on the new building.
One of best Rec center@Northshore
It's brand new facility and offers most of sports ; however, the pool Family changing room is not just for families, everyone can use it which is not suitable for families with young kids. Imagine ,you take your kids to a nude beach. Will you do that? also there is no garbage can in the shower area ...
The new place is really nice.
Nice Setting and Facilities. But its way too busy in the evenings. Parking is ample but in the evening almost full all the time. it is not the rec centers fault. it's the soccer field in the back. when games are going on the parents take over the parking lot. gym is way too busy most of the time for a comfortable workout. might just be me but that's how I feel
Nicevnew complex. Great pool and saunas. The gym is a bit tight but well equipped. All the fitness classes you could want.
Perfect rec centre. Only downside is its too busy.
Great new facility. Enjoyed walking the lazy river. Good exercise. Can walk with the flow or against the flow for increased exercise. Change rooms large and very clean. Coffee shop on the premises. Haven't used the gym but it looks well stocked. Bright and airy all around.
Great CC
Beautiful facility with minimalistic design. Family changing facility well thought out.
Family fitness and recreation for the family! Friendly rates for drop-in too. Swimming programs and soccer lessons for the kids. Ample weights and aerobics spaces.
Wonderful new facility, lovely pool and they even have squash courts!
Great Recreation Center that is beautifully constructed and is full of excellent staff and volunteers. It also has many utilities available to the public! Full of public art, it's a great place to spend time with the community.
I love the aquavit classes in the mornings. The only thing is the family changing rooms. They need to be hosed down more the they are. Maybe hire someone who only cleans them every couple of hours. Having to stand on the floors covered in hair and dirt is just not right. See if you can fix that please.
Great new facilities. Love using it.
one of the best and all is new!!!:)
Great service and very nice employees
The new Delbrook Community Center is a beautiful, brand new building. I took a walk around it and was surprised to find that as well as a large full gym with lots of exercise equipment, a full gymnasium, racket ball courts and a large swimming area, their are many other rooms for classes and meetings. There is parking underneath as well as outside and a coffee shop on site for that after exercise pick me up. The facility is in the middle of Mosquito Creek trail that is very popular for walking. It goes down to almost Marine Drive and up to Montroyal Street. A few blocks away is Edgemont Village which is worth a trip to wander around the shops as well.
It’s fully equipped, modern and clean, stuff are very nice and professional.
There was a man at the pool harassing patrons and staff yet nobody did anything about it.
Brand new facility. Great gym.
I visit the pool and saunas from time to time and is always a great experience. Clean and complete facilities. The family change room is especially useful if you have kids.
Its shiny
It's clean It's new, but there is a really rude receptinist that doesn't know how to just do her job.
Fun place to take the kid
Great place for activities, kids, meet up, every thing
Great place for various activities. Offer variety of fitness/crafting programs.
Great facility with excellent gym and super nice squash courts.
Brand new community centre with everything that you need to train good
My favorite rec centre. Clean facility, lots of space, and friendly staff.
Lovely place, brand new, kind people. A tiny thing that disappointed was that yesterday hot water went down, a couple of kids and a hand full of seniors plus a couple of fellow with disabilities - on whell chair w care givers- no body cared to annouce that there was no hot water in the showers then. Not to the people coming for swim neither for those leaving the pool.
Amazing Place for work out friendly staff
Love the pool here! Great for all ages
Went there today July 23 at 5:30 PM to go swimming. Waited for a very rude receptionist who was on the phone (with her cellphone) and told us to wait and we waited for a few minutes while she talked on her cellphone. We went downstairs and noticed that the pool wasn't opened yet. Came back up after 15 minutes and she was STILL on her cellphone talking. We were about to walk out when she finally ended her call and said "the pool will open tomorrow" very very unprofessional and disrespectful of her...
The Best in Vancouver!
Love the new Delbrook’s pool for relaxing and family fun time.
Clean ... safe.. and usefull
Perfect, lots of options, clean, organized and friendly. Give it a try, would worth the time.
Saturday night it's nice and quiet to workout and lots of lanes for swimming comfortably.
The environment is friendly and the place smells of positive energy. There are only two things that *I* personally don't like; bad reception, this causes your music to cut off during your workout. The other thing is that it can get a bit crowded at the free weights area with the layout. Other than those two things, 5/5.
Amazing facility
New pool is so good.
Love this place! Amazing support, all the employees seem very happy and that created such a welcoming atmosphere!! My kids love the camps. The place is extremely clean at all times! ????????????????????????????????????
Recently renovated and always fairly busy. Limited parking when in the mornings and afternoons.
The busiest time is between 4-8. The pool area is great, it has everything you need- lane swimming, hot tub, steam room, sauna & children’s pool. The hot tub is almost ALWAYS over crowded though. The weight room is decent- but when a machine is broken it takes weeks before it is fixed, and once again, it is over crowded. The stretching area is way too small- I can never find space there. It is nearly impossible to get underground parking depending the time of the day. The fitness classes that come with having a pass there are lovely. I love the yoga classes. All around a very nice facility- just too many people using it!
I love the energy of this place
Love using this facility's fitness room. I go there 3 mornings a week and never have any trouble signing up for the equipment I want to use. Most equipment are new and in great working condition. There are free wallet lockers outside the fitness room (take a quarter with you and you will get it back). The fitness staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Great gym and swimming pool, but it can be hard to find parking during busy hours.
Attended bcfit here, was a great conference location. The gymnasium is freezing though
Wery nice. All the best.
The best rec center gym I've ever seen. Thousands and thousands of dollars spent on high quality barbells and racks from rogue with an excellent barbell and free weights area. Chalk at a government run gym!? A powerlifter's dream come true. Very mediocre pool though.
New facility which makes it very clean. Negatives: price is on the higher side. Parking is limited.
Attended the BC Fit 2017 BCRPA Annual Conference here. The renovations have made this a world class facility!
Excellent facility with enough parking
The new swimming pool and change rooms are amazing!
Great gym, and even better staff. Can be pretty busy during main hours, but is not as bad during the morning or late evening. Monthly pass is well-priced and pays for itself quickly.
Only complaint is lack of parking. Otherwise...clean, lots of variety and friendly staff.
Nice facility
New facility with not enough number of lockers, showers and change room space!
North Vancouver Rec Centre - gym, pool (kids pools, lanes, walking pool, swim classes, aquafit) and meeting rooms + a coffee bar!
Does anyone know if the sauna and steam room are open?
So good and modern and brand new!!!
What a wonderful community centre! I was visiting North Van and wanted to go for a swim, decided to come here. It's a really new and beautiful centre with great facilities. Will return!
Brand new building. Pool area is great and the pool water is wonderful to swim in. The hot tub is large and just hot enough. My only complaint is the locker situation - the lockers are very closely spaced in a very tight horse shoe shape so that when the pool closes there is no room to change let alone get your clothes out of your locker. Recommend cutting the hot tub time a bit short and getting in before the rush.
Great new facility, could do with more parking or bike lockers
A great new facility with something for everyone!
The place is nice, but they have tried to jam as many activities as humanly possible all in one place. The parking situation is horrible when it's busy. For a brand new place, the parking plan is atrocious.
Very good community centre.
I too was disappointed to see a clearly disturbed man rant and rave while nobody tried to calm him. I hope that there is training and new initiatives put in place to prevent further incidents such as this.
Love this place. I enjoy bringing my family here and have always felt welcomed. The grounds are simply beautiful. The staff are helpful and gracious, and the programs are varied and wonderful! Will continue to come and will be bringing my family with me. Love it here!
The change rooms are terrible. The lockers take up so much space that there are hardly any bench area to get your clothes on. In the morning the change room floors are very wet and dirty with large gobs of hair. Soap dispenser are broken and almost every day one of the showers is closed because it is not working. The pool is beautiful & the entrance way has lots of room to meet friends. My older friend complains that she will not go there because of all the stairs and if she takes the elevator it is to awkward to have to take it from the parking to the main floor then sign in then take it down stairs again. For a rec centre that serves such a beautiful area of North Vancouver and serving so many levels of fitness and ages I am disappointed.
Fortnite
Nice new facility and smiling staff!
Nice newish and not too crowded.
I love going to the del book recreation center North Vancouver it has a great variety of outdoor and indoor activities including a really great fitness center a swimming pool and yoga outdoor soccer a skateboard park and coffee blends for your coffee needs I really love this place
Nice new facility. For a community rec centre the gym is pretty good, nice and wide open with plenty of cardio machines and large olympic lifting area. It’s the best public gym on the North Shore and for the price of admission good value compared to the private name brand gyms. The pool is nice, decent kids area with sloping shallow end for the little ones and a “river” area for the older ones. My biggest complaint is the lack of Lane swimming times. Since there are a lot of lessons, swim clubs and public swim (when the diving boards are open) and the lane swimming shares this space, there are only a few hours a day there are more than two lanes for laps. The lap swimming etiquette of the users is poor at best so if you’re a decent swimmer trying to get a workout in, definitely make sure you find the times when there are 4-6 lanes available. The change rooms are interesting, lots of options from private shower stalls to a “family” or “unisex” change room which have private stalls as well. Great when not busy but hits capacity during busy times and you have to wait. Not sure why they used certain materials as some are rusting after being open less than a year. There are some quirky aspects such as having to park underground, go up to the 2nd floor to sign in then go back downstairs for the gym and pool, but 1st world problems. Parking can be an issue during peak times, I’ve had to circle and hover for spots on more than one occasion. Staff are great, I went to this gym more than a hundred times last year and didn’t have a single bad experience.
Beautiful new facility!
Terrible maintenance, change room is always dirty, Steam room always smells bad, just they wash it once a day, while in Wet van Rec each day at certain times it clean it with a good smell disinfection and wash it with water, when complaining nobody cares,...
Brand new Rec center. Has almost everything - i say almost because i have yet to discover it all! Pool is quite popular. Has two diving boards, liesure pool, hot tub, everything is fully wheel chair accessible. No waterslides or wave pool features. Men's, women's, and universal change rooms with supports for special needs with lifts, wash beds, and wheelchair accessible showers. Has squash courts, fitness center, meeting rooms, day care, coffee shop, artificial turf field, skateboard park, wilderness areas, art installations, and so much more. Awesome. Atmosphere is modern, laid back, inclusive, helpful staff, welcoming.
Pretty clean, never too busy, and the new space is such an upgrade from the old Delbrook. The gym and pool have a lot of nice natural light and I never feel like people are judging me there.
Good gym, it's nice to hop into a pool after my workout.
Love this place. So clean & bright.
Beautiful,modern Centre,very good service
Hopefully whoever designed the pool here got fired. Rest of the place is a great community centre but from a family aspect the pool sucks.
Parking is a nightmare
Great pool and facility, but had to leave as I couldn't find any parking inside or outside. I drove around for about 20 minutes with many other vehicles and finally gave up as I was too late for drop in class.
This place is even better than the gym I go to. I definitly will quit my gym memebership.
Nice building after the reno. Squash courts are good and the gym, although a lot of really old equipment and weights, is still decent
It’s beautiful from the outside. It’s even beautiful on the inside. The problem, however, is that it’s only beautiful if you don’t look closely... Ventilation grates already corroding, hot tub frequently needing service/repairs, and steam room door no longer closing properly are only a few of the many breakdowns. How is the West Vancouver Rec Center so much nicer even though it’s older? This facility was built around the same time as the UBC one, and the latter clearly outshines the former.
Beautiful new facility. Parking available outside and underground
Dope spot for a swim.
A wonderful place to bring grand children for a swim and coffee afterwards.
Love it!
Nice, clean facilities. Kind staff members too. A few small nitpicks. I mainly use it for the heavybag and speedbag in the dance studios. The teardrop bag is hung a bit low, and people (mistakenly) try to kick it. Which is fine, but sometimes they do it with shoes which gets on the bag. Would be great if there were large mats that can be used under the bags, so we can take off our shoes. Would love it if they moved the punching bags to another room (preferably one with mats) so it doesn't conflict with the various yoga/cycling (?) classes. The gym was clearly designed to provide a casual workout, so I guess I can't complain too much.
They fixed the showers!
The machines are from the WW1 era , but overall, not bad.
It’s new but as a facility it’s average at best. The change rooms are TINY. And the pool is chaos. If you’re wanting to get some laps in go somewhere else. Lane etiquette is not followed here. Where it gets its stars are the fact that it’s clean and new, but mainly because everyone I’ve interacted with there has been friendly and helpful, and that’s most important in my books.
Love alot about this place except parking. They should have added another ground level to garage. And it also needs a traffic light at intersection. Very dangerous.
Really enjoyed swimming in the new pool, however it looks like there's a bit of black mold in the showers maybe they didn't seal the grout properly when it was built? Also noticed that they do not have baby change tables in the shower rooms so after you have a shower you have to put your baby on a bench that is not secure or do what I did which was shower with the baby and the bathing suits on then go to the washroom with all of your stuff but then you're soaking wet carrying your towels Etc.. just a huge hassle that could be avoided with a baby change table in the shower room or one of those chairs with a strap that they have in the bathrooms.
Clean, beautiful facility with friendly staff.
It’s new with a lot of activity programs
Very good
Nice and new
is brand new but gym is very crappy and used old machines from other gym.
The facility is brand new, the change rooms are easy to navigate and change in and the pool is good, butt busy
Wonderful new facility serving North Vancouver. We bring our infant to the preschooler swim and gymnastics classes and they are great.
They could keep up with the cleaning of the changeroom floors better. Pretty gross.
Very good one for swimming
New, clean, nice building, in the city yet close to nature, lots of parking.
AWESOME new place! has free indoor and outdoor parking. outdoor soccer field has high gated area. 7pools as seen on photos. has a spacious gym area. they have table tennis and squash. security is very high tech and doors have fobs and high end locking/unlocking system. they encourage using the stairs and the layout design is interesting. -1 ???? because the pool area is actually tiny. and for table tennis you must bring your own equipment and there seems to be a system glitch when we went there for the pool. we ended up not going for public swim (6-8pm) they didn't try to manage it manually either. poor staff handling on troubleshooting a problem. :(
Something at the pool here always seems to be broken or under maintenance. Also I don't get the no water bottles in the sauna rule. Like cmon it's hot in there guys. Hmmmmmm ????????????.
Nice facility , but outside is better !!
Very nice and clean place for all you exercise needs
Awesome facility. The gym & pool in particular are great.
Amazing renovations done, quality gym and pool area :)
Great new facility. Lots of classes and drop in activities.
The Delbrook Community Recreation Center is a bright and open facility. It has been at this location for at least 30 years, however it was completely rebuilt recently and it is an amazing venue. It is kept extremely clean and the amenities are at the highest level... worthy of being a "private club". By searching on the North Vancouver website, the activities are varied with all sorts of accommodating times. It is a well frequented center and fees are very reasonable. We feel very fortunate to have access to such a place.
Although it’s been recently renovated, 40% of showers between familyroom, Womens and swimming pool platform are usually out of order. Good enough standard gym with plenty of machines. Many other programs and fitness option programs available. Sauna and steam-room are usually busy in the evenings but from open until 2pm is the best time. No essential oils allowed (staff are strict about this as other patrons are as well and will most definitely close down rooms for the afternoon if abused)
They have good swimming pools. There are various class and meeting. If you live in north or west vancouver, you know it.
The new Delbrook Community Recreation Centre is great. It has a gorgeous pool and big underground parking.
not bad
Beautiful rec centre. With amazing hiking trails behind it.
Friendly, professional and knowledgeable
nice modern facility
Pool is often crowded but gym is very good.
gym is noice
Very nicely done rec. Center.
Great place for kids
The gym floor is nice and springy - great for the knees for badminton. The facility itself is new, the largest fitness centre I've seen in a public recreation centre in this area, and the pool is in excellent condition. Always parking available (there is free parkade parking too).
All new. Great badminton courts
Beautiful setting, and all Brand new equipment. Lots of programs that appeal to everyone. Gym is awesome! High ceilings, windows and music.
Huge new centre. Usually no problem getting onto the equipment. But it is very popular. Very attractive, clean, coffee shop, giant pool, classes.
I find it a little difficult to locate a parking spot and if I'm running late for my daughter's swimming lesson, that can be a problem. However, the facilities are great, super clean, and incredibly well maintained. The gym is large with plenty of machines and there's something for all the family in the pool area.
Awesome new facility, pool weight rooms, basketball court, squash, meetings rooms, coffee bar. Parking isn't great and the layout of the building is weird.
Very new very nice
Parking can be problematic on weekends when there are soccer games on the adjoining property.
It's new, it's clean, it's expensive, the gym is too small and people from other cities come to this rec centre, only stand near the equipment and improve their tongue muscles. Overall, it wasn't bad at first but now you can't drop a needle in this crowd.
Amazing facilities, WAY BETTER than the pool in SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY!!
Great experience. New buildings... sometimes extremely busy. Parking can be a challenge. Deserve 5 star but parking availability is the dark side of this gem.
It’s a clean and nice place to go with family! The staff inside the pools are friendly. However, the receptionists are very unfriendly and unkind! One of them treated very unpleasant to me and apparently they never happen to smile on people!!!!!!
Good
Great Pool
Hands down the best community center in North Vancouver! This gym is great for not only bodybuilding, but also powerlifting. They have great equipment from Rogue, a lot of barbells, rubber bumper plates as well as traditional iron plates, and iron dumbbells going up to 120 lb.
This is a great facility. There are squash courts, a fully equipped gym with weight training, cardio and circut training facilities. They have a wonderful pool area and both a sauna and a steam room. The staff are welcoming and friendly with a woman at the front desk helping a student who enjoys keeping healthy with a reduced cost per month with no commitments. The only thing I am concerned with is the sanitary conditions in the changing rooms. The shower areas get grubby quickly, although they are cleaned often, it only takes a few hours to get gross. The blendz staff are lovely there too and make a great morning cuppa joe.
New facilities and lots of parking. Generous spaces lots of light. The only strike against it is that the equipment in the gym is old and not much of it.
Big pool
Excellent new facility
great place, clean environment
The new Rec center really is a disappointment. The parking, both outside and inside, are pretty much always full. The gym is SO SMALL, always having to wait for cardio equipment and weight equipment. The free weights area is very crammed and the benches are so tight beside each other, you have to be careful not to hit the people beside you when lifting weights. The stretching area is so small and squished. I am very surprised with how little space has been provided for the gym with such a large facility having been built. The gym is already packed with an ever-growing busy community, hopefully they can expand it!
Nice and clean place. Even though its been open for only almost a year, unfortunately the gym has beaten up and rusted and second hand equipment unlike other new gyms that compete by updating their equipment.
Awesome place!
Great new facility!
My boy and girl made friends and developed their ability to kick a ball and get along with others
Our much anticipated new community center is a bit of a disappointment. But we have to keep in mind that West Van was built on a bigger lot and it had more space to accomodate the fantastic/aesthetically pleasing kids pool area and locker rooms - I think. I have never found anything not working there. We actually like the gym here it's much better than in West Van - yes... it's busy in there but has a lot to offer. My biggest sorrow is the hydrotherapy section... the person who designed this should have researched, traveled to and have experienced facilities in European cities and learn about the importance and preventative health benefits of alternating temperatures... I was hoping at least to discover a shower with a wider stream of water outside the sauna and steam room ... or a small cold pool to contrast.. whats really missing is strong well appointed and situated jets in the hot tub that also targets the shoulders and neck.... we just go back to Harry Jerome for that.
awesome place for kids and adults.
Delbrook rec center is an excellent facility. It has a great gym with weight lifting platforms, lots of free weights, machines and cardio equipment. The pool is great as well which has regular fitness classes. There are also squash and racquetball courts and a basketball/badminton area. I regularly go here and will continue doing so.
Too many rules but what is really shocking is reading all the reviews. The comments prove that whomever engineered this place was high or just too stupid to be considered an engineer. Turn in your documents and find a new career.
Very welcoming place. Good gym.
Personal favourite gym/pool in the area. Extremely affordable compared to Steve Nash/UFC gym.
Breast new pool
Good gym
At first I would like to say, that Delbrook was my favourite place where to go to the gym or swimming pool. Unfortunatelyits slowly changing. I am not sure if the staff is not trained well enough but the changerooms are pretty disgusting. there is no without shoes line so the floor gets muddy pretty quickly, especially with all the parents coming with street shoes.also a lot of hair and dirt on the ground. The second thing is suggestion. Please mention in the reservation system how many lines will be open. On the web page you have opening time for pool, so people expect to be whole pool open. unfortunately today it was only two lines for more than 12 people. I was almost touching somebody´s toes and somebody was actuallz touching mine. Please consider that. Otherwise I would go to Ron Andrews or other gym. I appreciate what you are doing very much so please let the pool be my favourite place again.
Amazing new facility. Great gym, great pool, great sauna.
Delbrook has become a complete joke, it is a true shame.
Great pool, gym and facility
This is such a fantastic addition to the community! I love the landscaping and the architecture! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Also the exercise facilities and programming is incredible! I love this place!
A very nice rec centre. Newly built. Just get a locker otherwise you may lose your jacket:)
Best pool and family swim!!!
friendly service
Good facility..built 2017
My favourite community centre .
I went for a pottery sale and it's a very nice recreation center.
Awesome... they have a great drop-in gym for kids on the weekends and the pool is excellent. The changing rooms are great too!
Lovely time with nephews for the public swim. Great layout for change rooms and the sectioned pools !!! Will return.
New facility. Clean. Good courts but the pool is just bad design. Tried to squish everything in
Public swim times are quite short but otherwise a great pool for little ones
Really great Rec Centre. Pool is nice with huge south facing windows.
Amazing service. For only 18$/month you have access to the gym, swimming pool and to all the courts (squash and basketball). They also have ping pong tables. The staff is always kind and they are ready to help you.
Nice new Recreation centre - change rooms a bit cramped
Looks glamourous but under the bells and whistles there are a number of not so great aspects. The changeroom lockers are $0.50 per use. WHAT? You cannot bring your own lock. WHAT? yup. That adds up if you go to the gym everyday. From the crowd of bags in the gym one can see nobody wants to pay that for a locker so you pray nobody takes your bag from the open cubbies in the gym. Whoever designed the parking did a poor job. There are never enough stalls including outside. Sometimes I won't go to the gym because I'm not in the mood to fight for a parking spot. It looks like alot of parking but when the field is in use good luck finding something. Your phone can't send or receive calls or text let alone email. At least not for me or my husband who use Bell mobility. The receptionists are really not friendly and a couple are downright snide. I've watched them while sitting in lobby and they are like this with most people. I've never encountered such unfriendly community centre staff??? I miss the much more humble facilities at False Creek community centre...
Good arrangements for Covid-19!
Great facility! It has it all
Million of dollar wasted . Constantly broken things in a brand new facility and a hot tub that is 3 feet deep and too hot. Too many closures. What a shame how public funds are mishandled
Very good
Multiple courts, was busy but easy to get space to play ball
A recreational center, New and equipped.
Sauna/steam room are great but they could have done more with the pool...50m instead of 25. Lots of activities: gym, squash, badminton, meetings, swimming, diving, etc
Lovely facility BUT poor planning for parking and design. Stairs up to entrance on West side are truly ridiculous. Disabled parking outdoors is in the wrong location. Very little underground or outdoor parking available, especially when adjoining field is in use evenings and weekends! Plan to arrive early for classes because you'll be late driving around trying to park. So much $$$ spent, poor planning!
This review is exclusively for the swimming facilities and classes.. We have registered both kids and love facilities, teachers and the small class sizes..both my kids always look forward to their weekly lesson Obviously we are not the only ones as it’s always a challenge to register for each new season..
Everything nice and new
It's always good to be here.. sports and activities
I am disappointed that they kicked the non profit organization who staffed the youth centre out of the youth centre space. Having said that the front desk staff are wonderful. I have bought a yearly membership and I could not be more happy.
Accessible - gets busy fast - great staff
This place has become a joke, so much potential, all thrown out out the window. Very sad.
Great new facility with pool, weight room and squash courts.
Like good facilities, especially the indoor pool. Plentiful parking. Very clean and friendly place.
Opened at the new place on Queens in 2017.Excellent facility catering to all age groups.
Swam in the indoor pool. Top notch facilities.
Great accessible centre! Great staff
What a fantastic place to go for a swim! This new Rec Centre is so new and so clean. And the south facing windows are wonderful to watch the sunset as you do your laps or relax with your children in the family pool area. The water is super clean and the edges are like an infinity pool so it’s super easy to hop in and out. The water is the perfect temperature and the showers have great flexibility on temperature settings so you can dial it in just the way you like. If I had to look for a gripe anywhere, I would say the booking is a little bit like trying to buy concert tickets to a hot band coming to town where the availability for the following week starts precisely at 9am on Monday mornings only and then it’s a race to try and book myself, my wife and my youngest daughter on three days of the week in under 7 minutes. At least the swim is relaxing.
Would give 5 stars if the changing rooms were a bit cleaner. Great facilities, great pool in a nice setting. Surrounded by trees and the big windows let in loads of natural light, great place.
They offer a lot like a gym, indoor swimming pool and yoga classes. The price is stunning (very cheap and the place can be visited as often as wanted). The staff we had at reception, during the yoga classes and for the gym instruction were very motivated and cheerful. It's a great place for families, students and adults of all ages. You'll feel welcome from the beginning.
Fantastic and friendly staff. I enjoy working out here because it has everything you would need to get going. Simply love it!
Beautiful newer facility.
Beautiful place, new facility. Gym is a little boring.
someone slipped a pill in my drink here
Just opened, it's all bright and shiny but a little disappointing when compared to West Van rec Centre. The fitness room is crowded and the pool does not have much fun for kids. The old pool had a water slide. The Men's changing room is small. Too bad.
Lame staff here. Get it together people !!
Fantastic pool and gym
nice and clean
Beautiful new facility
The building from the outside is nice but there isn't very much parking. The underground lot, outside top lot, and far away lot are usually very busy to full all the time. Even mid-day it can be hard to find parking. The gym is small as well. It seems much busier at all times of the day than when it was at the temporary location at the old Delbrook gym. It's too bad whoever designed the gym couldn't have just made it bigger. As well, the stretching area is way too small and there is no more mirror to see if you're lifting your weights correctly. The facility needs an expansion of the gym and parking lots. I like to go during off peak times because it's just too busy to get in a good workout.
Swim schedules are very difficult to locate on the website, and when you finally locate them, they refuse to provide a grid style swim schedule that you could print out and carry with you. Instead you are forced to fight your way through their website and have to use a computer each time you want to see what is scheduled for a specific date (rather than just provide a schedule you could print out and leave on your fridge). Website is bloated and difficult to find what you want. Update Jan. 29, 2022: It is still extremely difficult to locate swim schedules on the super bloated website. A simple downloadable swim schedule is still not available. Instead they have actually made the daily swim schedule more complicated to use than ever before. Wow. Just wow.
A great place for recreational activities
Brand new facility good staff and enough parking
Their gym is a complete downgrade from the old one. It's so small and packed, atleast 1/4th the size of their old one.
Wonderful facility a credit to the communituy
This is a beautiful new facility; however, the ladies locker room is not cleaned often enough resulting in unhygienic conditions. During our use floors were grimy, wet, and slippery. Sinks and showers were soiled and plugged with hair. For the large crowd using this facility a more regular cleaning schedule needs to be implemented, especially during peak times.
Beautiful new building, pool area looks great. Went to weight room. Very busy. Same as before, not enough cardio machines and time limits.
love the gym and the pool. parking seems to a be bit of a problem though.
Had a coffee in the main lobby after my swim the other day. Was amazed to watch how many people of all ages enter the facility without swiping their card (if they even have one). Witnessed people walking in the double doors (open during nice weather) and just walk right by the desk and down the stairs. Witnessed people getting off the elevator and doing a quick u-turn down the stairs and also saw young people with their friends pretending to look into the pool area and do a wide sweep of the lobby and head down the stairs. Staff for the most part are cordial, hard working and doing their best to keep the facility clean (hence the four stars) It is a shame that so many people seem to be circumventing the honour system the Rec. Commission seems to have in place for access to this facility. I hope before the taxpayers foot the bill for a new facility on Lonsdale, the Rec. Commission figures out how to stop the freeloaders at Delbrook.
There's always parking, friendly staff, clean equipment, well designed building and reasonable rates. Free valuables locker and plenty of machines in the fitness gym
The space is poorly mapped out based on usage. Prohibitively busy in the evening. The wifi is shockingly bad.
Very nice pools, and great workouts!
Excellent pool...nice and airy
Great pool love swimming here every weekend.
nice
Very clean and new gym, changing rooms, pools, .... Limited covered parking but there are many uncovered parking lots. Lane pool and kids tanks are amazing.
I like the new facility! I haven't used the pool yet but it looks great. I've used the weight room multiple times but I've gone during non-peak hours (around 1130am) and it's not busy at all. I can imagine it being super busy after everybody gets of work. But overall awesome new building.
Such an awesome gym...
Very bad gym
Leisure activities to decompress emotions and fun for kids
Na program great place 100 percent thanks
