Stork YMCA !!! Hmm !! It’s ok!!

The Stork Family Y is my second home. I have been volunteering there, teaching fitness classes, since it opened. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the facility is clean and modern. The staff and members make an effort to learn your name and get to know you. There are programs for all ages. For thirteen years, my children have attended swimming lessons, a large variety of sports programs, dance, arts, and games classes, preschool programs and the childminding room. My son learned the use the weight room properly by taking a course their called Teen Conditioning. They continue to attend programs, and now my son works out on his own and even attends some classes with me. The Stork Y is a wonderful place to come with your family. There are activities to do together, like family swimming, running on the track, and some sports in the gym, and then there are adult sports and fitness classes too! The Y has so much to offer families. Of course I am somewhat biased, but the fitness classes are pretty amazing too!

Great Y overall: Friendly instructors for the group classes offered, nice range of equipment for individual/single workouts, pool, steam room (for plus members), small café, and a library, which can be convenient. No complaints.

I highly recommend the toddler pool here - the water is the right temperature (warm) for your wee ones even the parents will have fun. I know I am with my grandson who doesn't like to be chilly.

Heicke Sixtus is an AMAZING PERSONAL TRAINER. If you are looking for someone who cares she is the lady to see. Yes she is over 70 but don't let her age fool you. If you are a senior like me you really want to talk to her

Love this place and would give 5 stars, but the timings are very limited for both weekday and weekend (especially weekend). Given the pandemic (or soon to be endemic), the world has changed. So should their policy around opening and closing. Add-on feature is the WPL on-premise.

I'm very happy with the YMCA facilities and staff :) However, their membership prices are ageist. As soon as I hit 30, the price will go up by $20. Seems odd..

The staff is not only friendly but helpful. Our family loves it because we can go to a gym class, enjoy the pool, the kids may join a program or go to the library which is just within the facility. I guess some classes can be better but it is an enormous effort and overall I can only say that our family feels safe and welcome here. Its a place for gathering and well being.

This place hires kids without proper training to oversee the pool. Some of these kids like Hayden can astonish you about their rudeness and attitude and even intimidation!!! Be ware!

Went to get a library card. Not only was it really fast, but the staff was so friendly and helpful. She guided me through how to search for books on the computer, how to find them on the shelves, how to place a book on hold, and how to check out. Really good experience :)

I used to go here for the gym. There can be a little bit more equipment And I think the membership is a little bit expensive. Love the fact that they have a swimming pool there though.

Had a pass for about 6 months, but wasn't using it enough so I just cancelled. I wanted somewhere clean, lots of different machines and classes, and friendly people I could meet. The gym itself offered everything I could want, just not many friendly people. I think I would have had more success if I had a family and could interact with other parents. Other all great gym with good clean amenities for a ymca!

Love this center. Just finished my 2 week free trial. Got my full membership yesterday. Love the exercise room and the pool is amazing. Always clean and tidy and perfect for everyone. Can’t say enough good things about Stork Family YMCA ❤️

I couldn't get my kids schedule to work with a few of the activities that Ymca was offering, so the best choice for us was to cancel their memberships at least for a few months until I can get the programs to work with my kids schedule. I Went over to cancel my kids memberships on the day the payment was going to be made and the staff member said unfortunately we can't do anything about that, the memberships won't be cancelled today but in 30 days because the payment is scheduled for today and there's nothing we could do! She didn't show any flexibility. We've been members for over 3 years and I guess that didn't matter. Total disappointment!

I enjoy going to the Stork YMCA as the staff is so friendly & welcoming. The facilities are bright & clean. There are many good programs to choose from but I especially enjoy the aquafit, then relaxing in the warm water leisure pool & whirlpool. As a bonus there is a snack bar & is attached to the Harper library. It is on a bus route for those that need it.

I would give zero stars if it was an option. I brought my baby to the day care and told the daycare workers when his bottle expired and they fed it to him an hour after that, when I told the manager they didn't care.

Beautiful building, Nice pool, great library, this is probably one of the best places to go in waterloo there is lots of things to do and has a great small snack bar.

Horrible Experience - I seldom write reviews and this is my first negative one. Tried scheduling swimming lessons here. Had scheduled 2 and booked 4. Got charged for 3 without even using them. Canceled last minute because I was sick and did not was anyone to get sick because of me. When I called to cancel (or even when I booked), i wasn't told about the cancellation policy but I was charged for it anyways. Although upset, I would have been OK if this would have ended here. I scheduled one more and canceled way ahead of time so wasn't charged for it, but the other 2 I was charged for even without booking. I was somehow in their system when I clearly remember not scheduling any sessions.
