The residence is pretty old-fashioned, seeing as it was built decades ago. However, it has a very social atmosphere which makes up for the outdated building. Shared bathrooms and bedrooms are definitely a deterrent, especially if you are someone who values privacy. The cafeteria is below average, but you can always visit the cafeteria at Village 1 which is ~5 minutes away. It has a gym in the building, which is great because they're are only two other gyms on campus. Would definitely recommend it if you are a social person or are looking to make new friends at Waterloo.

The place is clean and there are kind staff. The rooms are small for two people though.

I have lived at REV for nearly three years now and it has its perks and its downsides. I lived at REV as a student and now I work there as a don. As a student residence it is very social and a great place to meet fellow first years when you are nee to the school. The living style allows for people to socialize with ease as everyone lives very close together. The downsides are that it tends to be a noisy residence, you don't have a kitchen, and that all rooms are double rooms. If you want a traditional style of residence REV is a great choice.

Room is fairly spacious for 2 people. Large window lights up the room well. Common bathroom for the floor and a cozy tv room with a couple couches. 1 closet large enough for a couple months of clothes. May need to check for a good chair sometimes.

Awesome little gym. Great for people living in REV. Unavailable to outsiders. Equipment for cardio and serious lifting.

The room was quite spacious for two people. However, I hated my time there. My quad was noisy and way too social for my liking. In comparison to the neighboring residence (Village 1; MKV does not have a cafeteria), the timings for the cafeteria weren't that great. Food was fine, though; had no problems regarding that. The ratio of the number of toilets to students staying is abysmal. I know this is a dorm, but still, there should be at least one cubicle for a group of five, or six. The building as a whole felt claustrophobic and depressing. Gym was fine though, it does get crowded at times but most of the equipment works splendidly. If you're one who is extremely social and outgoing, this is the best residence. Otherwise, would recommend MKV or UW Place. Again, it's more of a lottery system, so it's up to your luck (at least as far as I was concerned).

Lived here for a year. It's about what you'd expect for a University residence. All rooms are double room, but a reasonable amount of space. Your ability to study in your room will entirely depend on your roommate. There were some common areas with just a basic TV/couch and cable. Decent little gym, below average food, but an ok selection. I found myself going to V1 a fair bit to increase the variety. There's a ton of geese (problem all around campus), and it's one of the furthest residences from campus, so you'll want a bike.

It's alright, definitely should not be a first choice. The building is really outdated considering it has been built decades ago. They only have double rooms. It is really far away from the rest of campus especially when compared to V1 and UW Place/CMH. The cafeteria is probably the worst on campus: minimum options and horrible hours. I just go to V1 which is about 5 minutes away. Only pro for this residence is the social atmosphere if you are into it. Overall it is not terrible but they are better options.

Very nice residence however the cafe is repetitive with many unhealthy foods. However the gym in REV is a great plus to relieve stress just feels like a sauna due to the no AC and poor fan circulation

Shahinul Islam

Very quiet place. Easy for drop off, can park free for short period .

Its good to visit if you live in REV or MKV, otherwise the gym at PAC or CIF is better. This is because the REV gym is small with limited equipment and could get crowded in the morning or at night. But if that doesn't bother you, then this gym works just fine.
