great place.... new equipment.... super affordable!
I'm not one to review stuff, but this place honestly deserves one... I got a yearly $10 membership start of 2016 and it was great. Gym was nice and everything. Then around summer time i started going back to school and using my school's gym, but i thought i'd keep the $10 a month going at this place. Fast forward to today where i cancelled it in-person and they guy was like "we charge for month in advanced too" and it was a bit irritating, but sure okay. I pay and everything is ok, i'm about to leave, then a manager or higher executive comes and says "oh, he goes into 2017, so charge him the $40 yearly maintenance fee too!". I tried to explain the unfairness of it and i was only going into the next year because you charge for the next month in advanced, and that i was merely cancelling, but the guy was like "Yeah...it sucks...charge him". Like seriously? How opportunistic of you is it to try and squeeze me for as much as you can when i'm trying to leave? Sure, it's legally in your rights when i signed up and of course i'll pay, but this is such exploitive behaviour and it's sickening. Rather than be "hey, it sucks you're going, but you know what, we loved your business and hope you come back" you left such a bitter taste in my mouth that i wouldn't dream of coming back! Be careful of this place.
Cheap, and has decent equipment.
Great staff, and everything u are looking for in a gym
Good space !
I signed up since the beginning. It has everything I need at an affordable price. I'm there almost everyday. My only complaint is that I go there to work out and get into my zone. They play the so loud that I couldn't listen (at full volume -) to my own without hearing theirs competing with what I like to have to get into my working out headspace. I had to go out and spend over 300 dollars of a bose noise blocking headphones. I've never had that issue anywhere else. Other than that I get what I need.
Amazing people, great place!! Six ⭐ ????????
Local spot for working out. Inexspensive monthly plans (10$ or 20$). Good cardio space and a decent space for weights. Massage chair. No pool if that's your jam. Generally not crazy packed but busy.
Great fitness place
Great gym, really friendly staff. This is my new go to spot! 30$/month, no contract and you can bring a guest every time!!
Great, affordable gym without judgement. Plus a diverse range of bodies and people go here, so you never feel out of place.
Good basic gym for a great price.
I think so far it's awesome for $20 a month and no pressure from trainers
Worh your money, intial fee may seem daunting however monthly fees do deflat that thought. The equipment and value of your purcahse is what you get and its a great beginners gym. Never felt uncomfortable or felt as though I am in competition with anyone. Everyone is equal coming here and its a nice environment. Goodlife seems to have people too much attitude about working out and taking photos of themselves.
It's a good gym, a lot of benches to bench press, but still need more cable machines
Affordable although a little gritty
Good gym with a lot of different equipment. Staff is friendly. Clean and kept organized. Can be a bit crowded at times, especially in the weight lifting area but who can complain for the price?! Did I mention the price?! $20 a month for a membership and guest and access to the special room. $10 a month for just yourself. You'll be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck!
Amazing gym! Honestly didn't expect a $10 monthly membership to have such a wonderful facility! The gym is always clean and even accessible wipes all over to clean the equipment your about to or just have used, which is great! It does get busy around 6-8ish but honestly what gym isn't busy around that time, just ask nicely if you can use the machine next and you will more than likely get a nice reply back. Sharing is caring guys!! I don't have trouble finding a locker because there is easily 100 to choose from inside the change rooms and probably another 70 outside the change rooms. Anywho, after an amazing workout theres a GP8 Smoothy bar at the entrance that makes all natural smoothies/protein with no artificial sugars, UM BINGO! I actually canceled my Goodlife membership to come here because its just awesome and a god damn steal!
great gym. unbeatable at the price
(Translated) Lee Dong's best price-performance luggage. The subscription fee is $100 and you have to pay around $10 per month. The space is also large and it is good because there are a lot of equipment. (Original) 이동네 가성비 최고의 짐. 가입비가 100불이고 매달 10불정도 내야 합니다. 공간도 넓은 편이고 기구가 많아서 좋습니다.
Love it! Great attention and the machines are brand new
Gym is always clean. Equipment is great. And for $10 or $20 a month you can't beat it. 7 squat racks (plus 1 smith machine), cardio machines as far as the eye can see, 7 dumbbell racks, ... my point is there is lots of equipment. I would only suggest one more cable crossover area.
Cheap, cheerful... $20 tanning thrown in, otherwise $10 a month. Music can be too loud to listen to ur own earbuds. Nice juice bar at the entrance.
You can't beat what you get for the price
Excellent machines and also nice personal if you want personal training
Love hone in general but this isn’t a great location, my usual location has a much more intuitive and open layout for equipment whereas this location has things all over the place in ways which are not as intuitive. Staff and patrons are generally not as friendly
The price is good for a gym and they offer massage chairs, showers. The machines are in good repair. Downside is the staff and management. A trainer accused me of lying when he asked about something that was none of his business and then said "if we can't be honest then we're gonna have problems" because he somehow thought he was entitled to my privacy. But he was so desperate for a sign up, wouldn't let us talk, lol. My roommate already wanted to sign up so we did anyway, but that was a bad experience. I saw a trainer yell at a poor girl to work harder, totally putting her down, and I could tell it wasn't good training, because he wasn't actually interested in helping. He sat and played on his phone. I'm glad I did not take up the one free training session. So unprofessional! And at the end of a day, I was just waiting for my friend to finish with his workout, and the manager comes in yelling at everyone that they're closed. Cut the power and turned off the lights while people were showering. When someone complained, he said "what you pay is what you get". So health and safety violations are part of the price now too?? I was seriously thinking of complaining to the city about it. If you want a cheap place, it's OK, but honestly you'd probably be better off at Fit4Less or similar. The staff are so bad here. I doubt the alpha male trainers here even understand an iota of proper nutrition and fitness.
10 dollars for a very well equiped gym. You won't regret. Better than most of those 35/45 $ per month gyms around. Don't expect any luxury tho.
This is the gym I go to since 3 month , my rating might be a little harsh but it's because I have high standards about gyms. This gym is affordable and well maintained, would be great if they offered group classes, the gym can be quite busy too so you might have to wait for your turn before using equipments.
Brand new equipment. A LOT of cardio equipment. Only $10 a month. Such a better work out experience than the Goodlifes in the area. Highly recommend.
Really Nice gym, only ÷ is that u can't change the grips/handles on the cable towers
No ah nice place to work out
Here, it is not my favourite gym in Toronto, however the promotions are good and it close to work.
My favourite gym. Clean and lots of space. All the equipment you need.
DELICIOUS SUSHI ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET
Amazing space and adequate equipment so you're not having to wait for others to finish. Plenty of sanitizer stations throughout.
Amazing staff
We would not recommend this gym to anyone.
Cheap, high quality gym open late/early. Memberships include access to other branches, too.
Cheaper than Goodlife but absolutely packed every evening.
Excellent gym with great appliances, great space and great attendants and teachers.
For $10/month and in downtown Toronto!!! Very good equipments and enough space for everyone. Totally liked it, its a better workout experience comparing to Goodlifes which I was member in for a year before this gym opens.
Great Gym! Walked in to try it out using the free trial offered online. Front reception desk very pleasant didn't feel any pressure to sign up right away instead she had a staff escort me through the gym. To my surprise the Space large windows air quality cleanliness and most importantly equipment top notch. They have two price selections monthly cant beat it their prices anywhere for what you get. I am one for large space no waiting for equipments and quality and chose their second package which includes massage and tanning.aswell as core training section of gym . I'm an avid tanner and well experienced in this field. Wet pleased to know they use hereaus tanning lamps which in the industry is top of the line bronzing low uvb ratio higher uva which reduces harsh rays to the skin but gives you the ultimate bronzing tan colour right away. I signed up for the year with tanning and massage and core training only 20 bucks a month ! Showers and locker room well maintained and clean. Highly recommend this gym being a member here you can use their other locations in the city very convenient. Customer service very pleased and I am glad they don't push you to join have a look and you'll be impressed to.
There is a lot of space and it's never crowded. Downside is the db management. Need some order on the free weights area.
Decent equipment. Good layout, and improving always. Cleanliness in locker room (always dirty floors, regardless of time of day, you can tell it hasn't been washed for weeks as grime builds over time, brooming is not enough) and showers need major improvement. Mouldy caulking in the showers and rusting shower heads is bad for health!
for 10$ a good deal ,still new gym but initiation membership fees is their way to compensate for the cheap monthly fees
Just a wow at the past reviews. Is anyone happy in this city. I've been going to this location since the very first day it opened as Hone Fitness and as Yonge St Fitness after being a night club. Back then everyone complained and nothing has changed. Go in and workout. You don't need politics to attend a gym daily. The equipment is great and new. You don't need quantity in weights you need quality. Working out and training is not about hundreds of machines and 200 lb dumbells. It's how you train. Learn proper form and techniques, keep your head down and enjoy the gym. Since day one that Hone Fitness opened until today the same staff members are employed. Can you say that about another gym in the city. Most have an open door policy. Hone Fitness is the best kept secret in Toronto. Stay positive in life
Need better weekend hours

(Translated) Best gym I've ever trained. From the daily respect for the members, to the respect with our pocket, because it is cheap, there is no contract and no tricks to take our money, as with "Goodlife Fitness". As soon as I am back in Canada, without a doubt, I will be training with you again.
A jewel of a gym! Best deal in town!
More than reasonable price, location, and very new equipment
Lackluster facility but good trainers
Good for the price.. only pay 10$ monthly and you keep working out!! No yoga classes no spinning classes no Zumba classes just exercise machines!!
Fabulous amenities and super friendly staff! Love their Carlaw location the best but having the location off Yonge so close to my apartment made it the perfect gym to call home.
Love the vibe here, very relaxed no attitude. Felt very comfortable. Staff is polite. Good music too
Can get very crowded after work. Been with them for half a year, no complain so far. Dont expect any 'premium services' like goodlife (towel, sauna, paper towel, hairdryer), just go there and do your thing.
Pretty standard gym: staff is hit or miss; machines are fresh and new, and there are lots of them; the crowd is youngish, sometimes a bit annoying (ie talking on cellphones, taking forever to do each set, staring in mirrors, etc)
Don't ever buy personal training at this gym. Their trainers are very unprofessional and unqualified. They will take your money in a heart beat and not even think twice about refunding it. Even after a despicable display of unprofessionalism, and zero sessions being used. The gym offers zero classes, no towels, and half ass change rooms, you can forget about a steam room, or sauna. Associated with the notorious fitness scam, now bankrupted gym - Extreme Fitness. This gym brings the same slime factor; "We want your money!"
Everything I need
This puppy was a member of Hone in 2017. It was a good experience of my life ever that I have challenged and tried. They taught and helped this puppy to find how to efficiently make body balance. I miss all ex-members.
The Hone Fitness is the best cost-benefit I found here in Toronto. The price is fair, the equipment is new and good, and the facilities great. The staff is amazing and Sam is the best!
I've been a member at Hone for almost a year now, I'd say. The atmosphere is nice. It's not as harried or commercial as Goodlife, and not quite as lazy or slow paced as YMCA, both of which I've regularly attended in the past. There's almost no elitism at Hone, none of the members are cocky or show offish, and the few I've come across have stopped attending, or more likely been removed. The equipment's what you'd expect to find in a gym, nothing special, but special isn't necessary for fitness. They have a little TRX room for premium "orange" members, which I am, and even though I find it a touch gimmicky, it's only 20 bucks a month; and it affords me some space and other equipment when I need it. Traffic isn't terrible unless you're thinking obvious traffic hours. 5-8 on business days, and weekends are fairly sporadic. People here haven't ever been rude though. They'll either work in with you, or be almost done anyways.
Awesome facility!!!
Great gym. Great value, so many options for working out... Cardio, free weights, machines, functional... Clean and friendly ;) This is where to find Physiomed Yonge Bloor.
Pretty good gym for the price you pay. Can't go wrong with $10 a month (before membership fees which isn't too much.)
Love this gym. Perfectly priced and not exceptionally busy.
Great gym for price.
Nice location but over crowed on weekends.
Thank you to Kim, as well as the owner Sam.
Clean and well equipped gym in the heart of downtown. Didn’t care for the overly pushy street staff that are trying to bring you in. But they’ve scaled back on that and it’s a great space to work out!
Has a great free weights area, with 4 squat racks and 3 deadlift stations. Great!
Great gym!
As a regular to this gym, I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of the place. The good is the location, the people at the welcome desk who never fail to welcome you with a smile. The equipment inventory is decent, however it is not uncommon to find equipment out of order for a week. Lastly the toilets can be a disgrace. They aren't cleaned often and honestly should be avoided.
welcoming cool environment!!!
Great for the price and location! Nothing fancy but neat and clean gym. I can do without the fancy.
Clean, good equipment, great price
Great place, not sure if there's a dress code... Lots of skin
Great membership price, equipment is great for the most part too. Only thing is the dumbbell racks are a complete mess. I shouldn't have to go on a hunt every time I want two matching dumbbells. please reorganize the racks, it would be greatly appreciated. This gym is worth 5 stars but not until this is fixed.
Super cheap monthly fees but doesnt let you deadlift heavy weights.
Great staff clean and huge multi level facility with tanning on site. Reasonable monthly membership price. Great experience with the free personal training session offered with membership (one session free when you sign up)
(Translated) They have good equipment and exercise machines with ample spaces. (Original) Tienen buenos equipos y máquinas para hacer ejercicios con amplios espacios.
It is a awesome environment , I've been working out there for 3 years and the layout is always getting better.
hate the layout of this gym, looks like a dungeon, the orange membership isn't worth it at all, the "functional area" is literally a tiny space that other members frequently sneak into. No classes or towel service available. Other members are meatheads.
Nice owner good price good trainers
Very disappointed with the gym. The overall layout at the Leslieville location is terrible as heavy weights and light weights are on completely different floors. This limits super sets and drop sets. The machines are new but lack diversity and quality and are mostly manual (self loaded). The treadmills don't have any give so they look great but are bad for your knees during long runs and are bad for your knees over time. They also have an annual hidden fee that brings you up to $35-40 monthly from their advertised $25. Also they have a sign up fee. Good on the surface but when you open up what you are actually getting and what the real costs are I would recommend checking out competitors.
Great place
Everything is great, but the music. the music is too quiet and there is no “gym” music, just some pop and Spanish. No Adrenalin music. P.S. wow guys ! Feedback was really fast ????????????????????????
Convenient, cheap, and good machines. Its way cheaper then the competition by not giving you those perks you don't use like a sauna or steam room. Machines are in okay shape and lots to choose from. Downsides; typically busy on Mondays and sometimes people just sit on a machine while playing on their phone, but this is the younger crowd. An increase in posers there lately that just take over a few machines then stare at themselves in the mirror. Along with some that love to drop weights and grunt like apes. When machines break down, it's days if not a week or more before it's fixed. If people aren't camping on the machines they have a circuit going and when you try to use the machine they say they are using it. They have wipes available to wipe down the machines, but hardly anyone uses them. Overall it's ok.
Have been already half and a year since I joined the membership. Staff has always been easy-going and friendly and hard-working in maintaining the gym clean and neat at all times. With the most affordable price, I could have kept working out with the feeling that I work out at home :) The people who also work out here are really nice and motivating! Blessed to know this gym in my life in Canada! Please keep up good work.
This is one of the most economical gyms, yet the most equipped facility ever. Less crowded, clean and nicely decorated interior with musical vibes. As a newcomer to Canada I have done my researches and found this gym as the most appealing to me. Their customer service is very client-friendly. I couldn't pay charges for a month as my credit card didn't work. They let me continue working out in the gym. This gym is everything y'all need.
Good price, good facility, no complaints
Best gym in the area
Great price for fully stocked gym.
Affordable gym membership.
Update: new front desk staff, new equipment, renovations and an apology have changed my mind. One of the biggest things I appreciate is when people take feedback to heart and change it. I had a few disagreements with HONE over the years and we started off on a bad foot (see older reviews). With that said they've slowly been changing to be a better facility. I still have disagreements from time to time, but that's probably more because I'm an ass. Yes, they could use more plates, but they replaced the broken ones. yes they're a little crowded, but they're cheap! Yes, the staff is hit or miss, but that's life. They had lumpy floors. They fixed it. They had a bad deadlift area. They fixed it. We had an argument. They apologized. Honestly, that's more than most businesses have ever done for me. Good job guys for changing my mind. ***OLD REVIEW*** Decent equipment at a very good price, but you get what you pay for. Do not expect wonderful service or trainers with knowledge. The place can also get crowded at times. Truthfully if it weren’t for the rude experiences I have encountered this place would get a 3 or 4 out of 5 easily. Quick points: The front desk staff are often very nice The trainers have rubbed me the wrong way, many times. There are many ways to talk to clients. They choose to be rude. A female cleaning staff member walked into the male change room while I was in the buff after a shower A sink was broken for months The floor is lumpy because they did not protect the flooring adequate near the weights The deadlift stations are great. Many of the plates are a little broken. Great gym to take friends to if you have an orange pass ($20)
Lots of space for mats and weights. Good equipment, great availability. Friendly and personable service. I would recommend this gym for those who want a nice private workout.
Friendly people's.
Very spacious and lots of equipment
Hone Fitness in Toronto close to Church Street is a great focused gym when you are away from home and want a basic weightlifting facility. Staff is friendly and welcoming to outsiders. It’s just hardcore enough.
Good equipments and nice environment for workout
If you like a no-frills gym atmosphere, then this is the space for you. The price is right and the location couldn't be any more perfect. There are plenty of machines and it hardly ever feels busy unless you always go at peak times. You won't find tons of amenities but if you don't care about that, then it's an excellent option for you. The staff are great and welcoming and the management is understanding and fair. The other gym-goers tend to be friendly and I've rarely seen any toxic macho BS that you often see at certain other gyms. I have nothing bad to say about this gym. A great choice.
Love this place! I've been a member for about 6 months. It's always clean and tidy, and the machines and equipment are all new. The staff are awesome and make me feel welcome. I do personal training once a week and my trainer is so encouraging and helpful, and pushes me far more than what I could do on my own
Great facilities for the price. The down sides is that the change rooms are get pretty dirty in the winter time. I do not believe they clean the change rooms as often as they should. Also there are people talking on there cell phones and amateur lifters who drop and do not touch.
I really liked this gym. Decent price as well if you're on a budget.
Exactly what you need. Never too crowded, except Saturdays. Love this place. No annoying fees and only stuff you don't need. People always nice. Would definitely recommend.
great customer service. I had a problem with my membership, and I contacted them and they were able to help me out, when they really didn't have to.
Amazing gym. Best in the city!
Best gym in downtown Toronto.
Inexpensive yet new equipment
For their memebership prices, how can you go wrong? plus their bring a friend has been great! I started by following a friend to the gym and now I'm there 4 times a week!
Great prices, great environment!!!
They just got a bunch of new squat racks! A lot of other free weights too (and so many machines). I can come in, do exactly what I need to do, and leave. Very cheap and convenient!
Where else would you pay $20 for a monthly membership to a gym that has most of the machinery you will ever use, a warm-up room, two levels - three, if you consider the massage chairs and tanning rooms -, lots of TVs and a central location. To top all that, it has a juice bar right at the entrance served by the nicest man. There's really no competitors in the city.
Its great. Clean. Friendly staff. Abit crowded but hell you are going to work out go earpy in the morning. They have punchin bag in their carlaw location . yesss. And hey, its cheaaap.
I love Hone Fitness Because they don't make you feel like you don't belong there. It's affordable and They have brand new machine you can use. All the people that work there are very friendly and always wanting to help. it's a great place :)
Love this fitness club. Staff is soo friendly, extremely clean with up go date equipment. The monthly fee is inviting. Paid parking, 3 blocks to the subway no reason not to join!
Staff is not friendly or trained. Arrogant attitude in general by staff. Also knew a few people that have worked there in the past and have heard that they were not treated well. Poor equipment layout, and not enough machines so very bad when busy. Felt like i got ripped off on price. Because i wanted to pay for a year up front and not pay monthly they charged me double. Money grab by the owner. I don't ever give a gym access to visa or bank info. Have been ripped off too many times. There was no reason to charge me double.
5 star for the gym but zero for the fat guy selling organised fitness programme.
Great gym on Yonge just south of Bloor. 2 floors and huge! They've got plenty of cardio machines, assisted weight machines, free weights, and even a great training section with ropes and TRX. They have multiple locations. And their purpose …
Too good gym, for the price of 10 bucks a month. Well equipped and decent gym mates.
The management must take notice and address the behaviour of the little Latino group at the main desk . Also , the fat African american (so called) trainer has a staring problem. Like we understand the gym is located near the village but dont be creepy especially that you are on duty. They are faaaaar from professional , Stare alot and I have seen them talk and laugh at members . Very immoral .
Hone Fitness is the best! Always super clean, never too crowded, and you can tell the staff enjoy what they do. Been a member for 6 months, Highly recommended!!!
great gym but PLEASE make it 24-7. 24 hours EVERYDAY would make this gym EVERYTHING, especially only having one location.
FRAUDULENT BUSINESS I cancelled my membership over a year ago. I have in writing they cancelled it …
Overall great gym in all aspects especially for the price points offered. I have the $20 membership and love the fact that I get unlimited tanning when I used to pay so much money for tanning packages in the past. The gym is clean with loads of equipment, and the staff are super kind and professional. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new gym!
(Translated) Everything you need to train. But the Matrix machines are not the most suitable for having good sensations. (Original) Tout le nécessaire pour s'entraîner. Mais les machines Matrix ne sont pas les plus adaptés pour avoir de bonnes sensations.
Great Gym, at an even better price $10 a month. They are not robbing you, for a change. Friendly staff, decent opening hours, great equipment. Two floors of stretching, exercising, strength and conditioning. Location is top notch.
Good for a workout. Not sure if I would shower. Machines are in good condition.
Facilities
This gym is the real deal for the price you pay. The things that aren't included in the price include: super welcoming and friendly staff, supportive and motivating trainers, and an onsite nutrition and protein smoothie bar. Heck, the juice guy even says hi when I come in! All around great place to get your weights or cardio in. And for 10 bucks a month? (Or 20 if you want to use more of the aerobics room) you really can't go wrong. Shout out to Josh, Josh, Sierra and the guy who runs the juice bar for being so friendly!
Lots of space. Equipment is fairly new. Love the atmosphere.
Amazing gym with a variety of machines and space for multitude of work out techniques
I used to go there and really loved the space. I moved far from there so I had to stop my membership. Nice even if crowded most of the time.
Good size gym at great price. Facility is bigger than what it looks from the outside. It's nice and clean and pretty well maintained.
If you wanna be a new member, they will tell you that you have a “ free personal training “ for one time. But that’s not truth, they will bring you to their office, and just talk to you and They will persuade ,even force you to buy their program , it will make you very very uncomfortable. I bought 5 sessions and had really really bad experience. One of their trainers is not patient at all and very unprofessional! Just tell you that you have to follow this instructions and give you a paper. They won’t tell you the details about nutrition or composition of muscle, and if you ask that trainer, he will be like “ come on, don’t ask me anything stupid ! Just follow my paper, okay? “ If you only give me a workout plan and recipe and you don’t tell me why should I need to eat like this or give me any useful suggestions. Why do I need a personal trainer? I just need to watch people’s blog or YouTube and follow their “ instructions “. They can’t even give you refunds, if you don’t like their sessions. Fortunately, I’m going to train with new trainer. I hope it will be better.
You get great value for 10 - 20 bucks a month. Pros: Good Equipment, Ridiculously low price, Nice space. Cons: Busy, a lot of people who have no idea how to work out.
It's a Nice and big gym with all the equipment you would need. Lots of squat racks and bench presses to use so you would hardly have to wait. They even have a turf section for functional training which I usually use for warm ups. The two downsides is that the equipment are old and need to be renewed (as the cushions are tearing up and the pulleys need greasing), and the dumbbells are all over the racks, making it difficult to find the ones you want. However you can't beat the price, so I would still recommend if you live close by.
Love this place. It's a very barebone gym but it has everything you need for a power workout. LOTS of space, great equipment and tons of free weights. And the price is just unbeatable.
Excelent gym
A bit sparse on amenities, but you can't beat the price. Otherwise it's an excellent gym.
If I could give more stars I would. Honestly the best gym experience around. And you can't beat the price for such a high quality gym. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I am very happy with this gym.
Fair pricing for what you get, overall would suggest trying out this spot.
I started here approx. October 2016. The cost is unbeatable, the hours are great and the staff are always friendly and helpful. You definitely get more than you pay for here.
Not sure what the people who left the negative reviews are talking about. Sam and his staff are the best. They are over the moon welcoming and even come out and say hi when I walk my dog by the gym sometimes. They have given the area a real neighbourhood feel. They have a wonderful juice bar with little tables set up outside. My boyfriend, who isn't a member, has been known to come all the way to my area just for a smoothie - loves the Milky Way one. I wish all front desk staff were trained on how to make a smoothie so that I could get one early in the morning before the juice bar opens though. There is always enough cardio equipment. Yes, sometimes it's a little busy at 5pm and you'll have to work in your sets with another person on the machines, but that rarely ever happens. This is the cleanest gym I have ever seen. The $20 p.month membership gives you access to another room with free weights and TRX ropes, so you can do whatever you want in there that you wanted to do on a machine, should they be busy. That tier of membership also includes free tanning, in one of their new tanning stand-ups, of which there are three. No towel service? Big deal. That's why it's so cheap. Bring your own. Use their wet wipes located all over the gym though because as there's no towels so jerks get too lazy to wipe down their sweat of macines - probably the same group of guys who were complaining they got kicked out for not reracking their weights ???????? Great place. Great staff. Great hours. Get equipment. Great price.
Great facility! I especially enjoy the pithy comments from Tauna when I come in. What a firecracker!
Good equipments clean and safe environment
Great price
Affordable and a nice place to work out. Lots of new equipment so not need to wait until someone finish their sets... You can also enjoy a massage after your workout session. ????
Sanitizing wipes are always empty.
Its a great place to work out. There is always equipment available and I honestly love the monthly price of $10. I would recommend it to anyone!
Good trainers. Cool building.
Great gym with lots of equipment, affordable rates and friendly staff
Great gym, good facilities, owner is really considerate and open-minded. Would recommend to anyone. 10/10.
This is not your regular value gym. The facilities are much better and nicer then your standard value gym. Staff is friendly and the equipment is clean and new. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be to offer more weights. Specially with all the squat racks. You have one or two lifters that lift heavy and all the weights are in use.
Great gym! Staff very friendly and welcoming. Place is always clean and has everything you need for a great workout
Excellent place, good environment. Nice people and good Team, good vibes. Good price and machines, I recommend.
Spacious, good equipment, friendly service, good price.
Very crowded gym. You pretty much have to wait in the line to get a bench to work out. The owner is rude. Not recommended at all
Great place to workout. Has everything you would need. Would love a punching bag in there ????
Very quite & cute gym!! New PR hit here. Affordable and still fits your needs. Personally, the carpet is a nice touch ????
The equipment is good, the staff is friendly. The manager doesn't greet you, he seems to be very busy to have a look to who you are The place smells bad.
Meh
Excellent budget gym with ample well maintained equipment
Great space + high quality equipment. Love how this is a no-BS workout space - just equipment in a room. No classes, towel service, or any other fluffy amenities. The price can't be beat either!
Great place , great price , worth a visit.
Continues to try and take money out of my bank account after I was told my account was canceled by the front desk almost 2 years ago! Now I'm stuck with being told I need to pay a balance to (properly) cancel + another 30 days. Thieves. Stay away. They're just looking to screw people over and take money.
Great atmosphere, clean gym with lots of equipment and even at peak times it doesn't seem overcrowded.
Great place to work out. They have a wide range of equipment and the staff are always friendly.
This is hands down the best deal in the city. Worth every penny and every minute I've spent there. The staff is beyond wonderful, the facilities are always clean, plenty of lockers and they're ALWAYS trying to improve their member's experience. These guys really have heart.
Very good. Clean, good selection of machines and weights. Staff seem friendly. Excellent value.
Friendly staff and great value for the price!
Best Hone location I've seen, 2 floors with lots of equipment and even at peak hours you can use most machines without waiting much. Staff is helpful and for the most part friendly. But I must say that the ventilation is terrible in the summer heat. It's actually hotter inside than outside and that makes for awful working out conditions. Avoid on hot days.
Great gym and awesome layout! I've been working out there for 2 years and the gym is always looking great, everything cleaned and organized. It is just 20 box per month, a incredible deal for everything they offer.
Great gym, and a great owner. There was a problem with the cancellation due to my method of payment changing, but he quickly called me directly and made things right. He really cares about the gym, members, and overall experience. Very understanding despite me being upset about a part of the policy. The customer service at the end of the day is superb since I can tell the owner (Sam) is super caring and smart about how to make the gym and all it’s locations run seamlessly for everybody to enjoy. Highly recommended, since I anticipate things to eventually go wrong with companies not just with Hone, and then he really made it right by listening and providing a fair resolution. Long time members are seen with better favour.
Nicely equipped facility but poorly managed. Freezing cold at times and opens later than supposed to.
The price is great at 20$ or 10$ a month. There is a sign up fee and yearly maintenance fee.BUT the space is constantly being improved. They are pretty good at getting things fixed quickly
Nice place to workout.
Love this place. Well worth the money.
(Translated) Excellent gym with modest prices and equipped with every comfort. (Original) Ottima palestra con prezzi modesti e dotata di ogni comfort.
Clean and well equipped
Pretty decent gym. It's ideal for me because I have no clue what I'm doing. The owner is kind of douchey though. My first impression of him was not pleasant. I was a guest with a friend (I had been to this gym so many times before) and had filled out my guest pass. I had always chosen not give my email but left a phone number to ensure they could contact me. There was never an issue and the awesome staff never said anything. The owner was there this day and caused a huge scene because I refused to put down my email. From a legal standpoint, he can't force me to give him that information. I did it so he would shut up. My second impression of him was months later. I'm a member now. I go every few days at 6 am and always getting a warm welcome from whoever is working. I mean, warm for 6 AM. The last time I went, he couldn't be bothered to say hi or bye. I'm pretty sure he was just staring at his feet the entire time. He probably just shouldn't be anywhere that people are going to see him...very off putting.
Super place ????
Great spot. Won't have as many machines as say Good Life, but can't complain with the price. $10 or $20 dollar memberships, but there is a start up fee. It's paired with a health bar for all sorts of protein/health shakes! Gym is not 24/7.
Very nice n cheap!! Monthly fee is as low as 10$. Equipments are very good. Lots of space n good equipments to work out.
Great experience at hone fitness gym. Customer service it's always their priority and they're willing to assist you in any way you need.
Central with all the amenities. Spectacular and customer service oriented management
I have been going to Hone fitness for three months now to get back in shape after the last lockdown. Decent facility, clean, modest number of machines but large enough selection. I’ve even gone so far as to repost then on Instagram. Today my girlfriend and I went in and the “manager” (Eric) together with a personal trainer came up to wave and speak to my friend. He introduced himself, shaking her hand (hello Covid?) then proceeded to get her a hair tie as she requested. My friend is in amazing shape, wearing a sports bra and a pair of leggings and because I am not in that type of shape I was completely ignored. When I confronted both parties I was laughed at and patronized due to my physical appearance and weight. In 2021 I would hope we would live in a world that we aren’t judged based on our appearance especially when in a place to try to better it.
Best bang for your buck, myriads of perks on sign up with all facilities you'd expect from any other gym.
Great gym and amazing price. I have no idea how Goodlife gets away with charging 60/month. At hone you never have to wait for a piece of equipment. I will happily give up towel service and bring my own towel if it means saving $50 a month for a membership. The staff is great and everyone is always upbeat and happy to help. The juice bar is well priced and the machines are well maintained. For an extra $10/mo I would recommend opting in to be an orange member and getting access to the cross fit room where you could do additional cardio on the anaerobic ropes, jungle gym and push sleds they have. Great job hone! :D
I went to this gym off and in for about 3.5 years. Attracted by the super low price and never any crowds. I use this as my 2nd gym, lots of cardio and free weights, locker rooms were generally clean and tidy. About 18 mo ago, they replaced carpeting in there and would no longer let me come in and do my workout with a coffee in hand, explaining a fear that it will stain new carpet. (really, then install that rubber floor stuff, it's easy to clean) but that is a minor blemish as I was thrilled I never had to wait for any piece of equipment. When they doubled the prices from $10 to 21 / mo and my work hours changed it no longer made sense to have this membership. But it was great while it lasted!
I love this gym. Only one bad thing is that they are not everywhere in Canada. YET.
Awesome gym. Has everything I need at Yonge and Bloor. The other locations are much smaller but do the trick.
A lot of cardio equipment and good workout machines ????
Really good place to work out.
Incredible gym if you're ok with no classes, super cheap but fully equipped with up-to-date exercise machines. Super affordable!!
Great value. Love the layout. Exposed brick. Great equipment. Definitely way better than any Goodlife.
Great cheap drink
Great price. Great gym. Great vibe
Good gym. The weekend hours suck.
They need to label the dumbell rack at the carlaw location, other thsn that i would give it a 5/5
This is the best gym in Toronto. This was my second home when I get to Toronto. I will always be grateful with the incredible people that works at hone fitness. Best price, best gym to work out and make new friends.
Great place to work out at a reasonable cost!
It has a wide variety of machines and the orange room is pretty inviting.
All different levels of fitness here! All the equipment your need at a gym plus some in that orange room. For the price it's unbeatable
can you guys get a metal straight bar for the cable machine in 2nd floor please. that's the only thing that you guys don't have
Hone fitness was super welcoming to me and my boyfriend when we were exploring gym locations. We'd never been part of a gym before and we werent sure if we'd like it, but the staff was very accommodating. We were given a tour and the ability to try things out at our leasure with no commitment. If you're a first time gym member, I highly recommend giving home a shot.
little expensive
Cheap, acceptable gym but way too few weights for the amount of bars/racks there are.
Not for serious people that like to train. More for beginners . (No chalk, no big deadlifts, ect) And those ladies walking around with flyers 24/7 are super annoying with the over promoting at schools , queen & Dundas .
A complete gym with all that the stuff that you will need.
Amazing place perfect price
People who go to this gym are pleasant and I feel comfortable when working out. The staff is great too. Very welcoming! I am a student on a budget and I feel like I get well beyond my money's worth here! Way to go Hone!!
Disclaimer - I'm a receptionist here ☺️ I absolutely LOVE the facility - there's a lot of unique equipment like …
The gym has two floors, first floor consisting mostly cardio machines, few weight machines, light-weights, and more. Second floor includes more weight machines, heavy weights, benches with bars, and more. This is by far the cheapest gym membership you can get and I go here at least five days a week. However, that comes with many downsides. It is only a gym with showers and day lockers, without a sauna, steam room, or swimming pool that you might get in other gym memberships. The owner might seem rude (on the phone while talking to you condescendingly) but I think that's the case for most gym owners. It can get really hot in the summer as there seems to be very little or no air conditioning. Some people here don't wipe their equipment after use and drop weights and there are no staff in the gym regulating this. The cheap membership price makes up for all of these pet peeves though and would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap gym membership.
Very convenient and clean, the equipment it’s in better condition than most of the gyms around the area.
Wonderful gym! Lots of equipment. Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Sign up now!
Love this place, is a very nice Gym, has everything I need, except for towels but oh well is ok. It is always clean, nice people and the price is sooooooo amazing
Great gym in terms of price and staff. Easy location and open at convenient times.
The excellent gym at this price. Must recommend for who is looking at the affordable gym.
Hone fitness is doing the modern gym right: very affordable memberships, excellent range of equipment (many squat racks and benches for those who need it), and a bare bones feel that rewards those there to do work. This location features …
Excellent customer service, great gym!
Great gym, signed up for the $10 a month membership, the guy at the front desk lowered the $130 sign up fee to $100 to make sure i signed up that day (not sure if they do this for everyone). Works out to about $21.66 monthly with all the fees together, so if you plan on working out for a year its a great deal! equipment is in good shape although the barbells are always scattered...
I just joined and I'm really enjoying it so far. Huge space, lots of equipment and not crowded. Staff is friendly. The locker room I find a bit small but its okay. I mean u always do get a locker so its all good.
This is hands down the best gym I've ever been to. The equipment is great, the staff and general manager Sam are amazing and they have always been super friendly and accommodating. For $20 a month in Toronto there is no better gym in the city.
Clean facility, friendly staff, inexpensive membership
I spend more time looking for weight discs and matching dumbbells than I do actually working out due to the lack of plates and organization on the upper floor. There are several squat/deadlift platforms and benches but most are completely barren of weights- I always have to search around the whole floor for even a basic pair of 45s. Dropsets are impossible as others will take what few discs there are off your station mid set due to the lack of weights to go around in general. Dumbells only go to 75lbs. Great value if you stick to machines or need room for cardio based stuff but really lacking in free weight amenities due to lack of plates and always horribly disorganized dumbbells.
im very unhappy with hone, i have been a member since they opened ,i actually signed on even before they officially opened, its been 5 years, this year when they decided to take out my annual fee it bounced my fault but they were supposed to email me but instead they attempted to take it out again, and it bounced again, it ended up costing me over 100.dollars when i found out i called ,was told they would wave the annual fee ,like he was doing me a favor !!!!!!!!! but i was going to be charged 15.00 twice a month ,when i signed on i was paying 20 a month and was told that would not change ,i was not happy 1 have called and left messages with staff to have management contact me it has taken me 5 calls to reach someone ,i was told due to rise in minimum wage they now have to charge us more ,sorry thats not my problem .after 5 years of membership this is how they treat a good member what can i say other than im appalled thanks for your stellar customer service hone management
Simple, large, and not fancy. It worth the price.
I used the gym for more than one year. I like the environment and the equipment. The staffs are great. I hope they can extend their hours.
awesome facility
This place was absolutely amazing. The staff was very attentive and particurlary this lady named Christina was an absolute doll. The gym is overall extremely well manged; it was just stunning. Clean and great equipment...five stars!
St Clair location Signed up on the 1st of July, first actual visit to do work out I found out that the treadmills can not be programmed like those at Planet Fitness, Hones are controlled by paddles, was advised I could find the type of machine at Isabella facility, I asked to cancel my membership Told I must pay this month and an extra month because I asked to cancel on the 3rd not the 1st, the day I actually signed up This is a scam that I must be charged for them not having the machines that are more suited to my needs....I had 4 knee surgeries and the programmed machines are the best for my needs I will not recommend this facility to anyone in my neighbourhood Staff were not aware that treadmills could be set up by your age and weight Big mistake on my part .....loss of $40.00.... Should have given the money to homeless on the street would have felt better losing that amount
My second year with Hone just started, I like this gym and working out to keep fit. Hone is one of the most affordable, well manage, and equipped gym in Toronto. I have a special thank you to Mr. Sam for supporting the gym members when they have any issue. I want to give credits to the idea of working out and exercising for the younger generation I am seeing in the gym, it is so responsible of them keeping fit , healthy, and away from any other wasted practice you can find out all around the city.
Needs wifi.
Affordable with great equipment. Try to avoid going during the 5-7 rush. Also I wish there were some labels or organization to the dumbbells because people tend to throw them wherever.
Way too crowded and double charged me for the month of November.
For the price, it's a great gym. Compared to gyms like Goodlife, it is MacDonald's compared to the Keg. It all depends on what your gym needs are. I am into bodybuilding so I use mostly weights and cables - dumbbells only go up to 75 and there are not enough height adjustable cables to go around. Also the attachments are fixed and cannot be switched between cables (super annoying). There are enough machines, but honestly machines are only about 20% of my workouts. If cardio is your thing, this place is the bee's knees, cardio machines stretch into the horizon. If you use weights and machines to tone, then this place is perfect (for casual to moderate users). When I can afford to go back to Goodlife, I'll be gone; but until then, Hone is home.
good customer service
Terrible gym! Just a get rich quick scam. No customer service at all! - Same owner as Extreme fitness - the same gym that sold your personal information to a call centre in Mississauga to harass you for your membership fees. These people pay for their 4 -5 star reviews, every time there's a bad review you have 10 phoney good ones to burry it . - You wouldn't believe how slimy these owners really are! - Stay away and pay the extra $30 a month to go to a real gym; who has proper customer service, and protects it's members information.
Great gym - I was stuck in Toronto for the afternoon and looking for a place to train. The guys kindly gave me a free day pass and let me check out the facilities. Everything you could need and everything in great condition. Thanks!
I have been wrestling with Hone for about a year now to close my account due to Covid. They will not stop charging my card. They emailed everyone when they closed in the lockdown, but did not notify me upon either reopening that they would begin billing me again or that the facilities were even open. I emailed in November to close my account and they ignored me. I forwarded my email from November this week and they say will continue to bill me for 6 more weeks. Literally just thieves at this point. A SCAM!!
The personal trainers here are great and so are the staff. You save so much money joining this gym.
I have been attempting to cancel my membership for two years and they are still taking payment from my account. I have called in 8 seperate times being told that if I email in to hone fitness with a cancelation request than it will be …
Not as good as The Queen & Bathurst location.
Great place to work out, but can get really busy, really fast
Love this gym!!!! Best Gym in this area of town and I’ve lived and worked out at SO many in the last 19yrs!!!!! including one at this space years ago Staff and owners are great machines awesome - even if something breaks they fix it right away!!!! busy but not crowded great vibe decent size change room amenities are awesome - massage chairs tanning juice bar even discounts at local businesses only downsides are showers are not at all appealing - no shower pressure and... for some reason water fountains always look gross! *wish the staff would wipe them down once and a while.
Great facilities, the monthly membership is really affordable and the equipment is great.
If you're new to fitness and want to test the waters before diving into something more demanding, then this is the gym for you. But for serious lifters I'd doubt you'll find much use for this gym. There are lots of cardiovascular equipment and machines. However, the feel and fit of the machines are unlike the ones in other gyms. It feels subpar and cheap. The barbell weights look very abused, used and worn out. I highly doubt that they are within a 5% range of the label. Dumbbells only go up to 75lbs and are thrown everywhere. 1 incline bench, 1 leg press, no squat machines or hack squat machine which makes it difficult to get variety in your workouts. It's key selling point is $10 a month membership with no contract. I may sign up but am not too happy about the $130 initiation fee. We'll see.
Great location! They have all the machines required! Nice colorful interiors! Awesome Staff!
Great Gym for a Great price
Great gym! Has everything you could want- heaps of cardio equipment including stair masters, deadlift platforms, full squat racks and every isolation machine I've ever seen. Clean and lovely staff too would recommend to everyone
Convenient and good value for money
Staff are nice but do nothing to maintain clutter of dumbbells and plates. Lacking in plates in general. Good luck finding a 45 at 6pm. Worked out today and had to leave it was so sweltering hot. Certainly dangerous to be lifting weights in that humidity.. A total liability not to mention a lost workout. Presumably due to a broken ac. I would have sympathy except its happened multiple times before. Not sure why real investment isn't being put into something that constantly breaks.
You'll pay $10 bucks a month for this gym and get $30 dollars a month of value, in my estimation. That's a steal. If that's not enough for you – if you need all the nicest and most up-to-date equipment – go somewhere else. Only annoying thing was that for a while, they kept rearranging the equipment like every two weeks, which was annoying as hell. Seems like they're done with that now though.
This gym staff is very unprofessional and rude to customers....Never join here. I joined here one month ago and terminated my membership because of their staff behavior. When you raise any complain to their manager, the very first thing …
Affordable, clean and has good equipment
I’ve recently moved downtown and thought I would check out this Gym. The ladies at the desk were fantastic and answered all my questions. Being …
Super inexpensive gym. Can't beat the price considering that it's downtown.
Just brilliant.
If they were much friendly as a down to earth guy, I'd give them 5 star. Just a girl who usually stay at reception in weekend is realy down to earth and lovely friendly kind nice guy. Also they have orange membership, which is kind of VIP membership, but they don't give towels. If they did that, I'd gonna by orange. 4 star for machine and area with my earphones because they don't play music loud or some times nothing. I think this review seems 3 star, but as a gay person I feel comfortable there where is in our village.
I can't believe it 10$ a month! And it is awesome!
Love it
I found some graffiti in the bathroom and a tiny door that leads to a clearing full of mean fuzzy things that bite.
The arrogant ones know, who they are
Good gym. Always adding new equipment/ keeping things up to date. Very clean and equipment is well spaced out. Quality/ selection of equipment is just okay. Definetly could use dumbbells higher than 75's and more 45 lb plates. As is most gyms in the city, rush hour times are generally a nightmare. But you can't really complain when you're paying $10 a month.
Called in to see if I could use buy a day pass. Was told no they only offer trials. Told the person on the phone I have used a guest pass perviously but wanted to come with some friends was told that normally they don't do that but today they will. When I got to the gym was called a liar and told I can't come in. Due to terrible customer service just lost 3 members and blasted to 10k plus on social media about how terrible there service is. Low price I guess means low service
Solid gym
Took advantage of covid situation and scammed me
Nice personal
Great downtown location Friendly staff Showers/lockers available Tanning/ Juice bar onsite Lots of exercise equipment Television screens through out the gym Very affordable
Decent enough gym equipment but horrendous management and “trainers”. Charged us for an extra year after we cancelled and wouldn’t provide records to show for it even when asked. Also the initial “free personal training session” is terrible. Went in hoping to get some strength training tips came out being told that I needed to reduce my body fat to under 12% and that my 20% was ridiculously high for someone of my age and build (female, 18, 125lb, 5’9”). This kind of information is so damaging and clearly not coming from anyone with a basic understanding of nutrition, could seriously damage young people out there.
Talked to the owner directly. Very professional individual that values relationships.
Great Facility at good price. Great management. Edit: I had an issue with my trainer Gary. Sam, the owner, called me who was a very professional and a reasonable person. He resolved my issue with my trainer. One thing is for sure, the management doesn't take customer service lightly.
just started working out at the new queen location and its fantastic. Cristina at the club was great
Love this gym! Great equipment, battle ropes and all. Went on a Friday night, Highly recommend it. Amazing membership deals. Only thing I wish is it had later hours, It does get a little busy around prime time after work/school hours but jucie bar makes up for it.
One of the owners pulled me away from a machine into a stairwell, yelled at me for 5 mins about me being a trainer and when I argued I’m just a normal member and I’ve never in my life ever been a trainer, he threatened “We know who you are!” and backed away from me leaving me alone in the stairwell. Crazy!
Great gym. Great owner. Loved the vibe & atmosphere of this fitness centre.
Cold water in the bathroom would be great. Seems to always be a "work order". The bathrooms sinks are always hot or very warm. Washing my face would be amazing !
The ab machine requires you to sit on the floor and pull with all your might to adjust. That machine is a personal injury lawsuit waiting to happen.
A well maintained and organised gym with all the that one needs for a maintaining a fitness regimen!
excellent position, good environment, and friendly staff!
The gym has what you need for a gym. If you're a begginer at fitness, this is a good place to start. The hours on the weekend could be better, but if you manage your time well, you can work it out.
Price/Performance is unmatched. There are 7 squat racks, pretty much everything you need. It gets crowded around 5PM-8PM. Barbells go up to 80 lbs, if they don't want anyone to curl on squat rack, they need to have up to 120lbs. Considering they have 75lbs DBs, it doesn't make sense.
It's a decent location. The showers and locker room don't feel very clean when compared to a GoodLife. …
very affordable and has everything anyone will really need
Great gym . High ceiling and plenty of space. No towel service but there's alot of good equipment and alot of great workout accessories like bands/ med balls/ leber dip bars, Trx and the usual gym equipment. Multiple locations makes it very convenient to use. The price is unbeatable .
$10 a month, great facility with knowledgeable staff.
Inexpensive and convenient
Great customer service and THE place to workout if you are on a business trip in Toronto! Hardly recommend this gym... ????????????
Awesome Gym, Friendly and caring staff! There the best :)
I love the place
Great deal!
I worked out last nite for 2 hours and despite the hot weather outside the weight room was actually COOL
Dirty and their staff ( Sage) is very rude
I had the opportunity to check out this place for five days during my trip to TO. It is a great gym with a wide selection of equipment and huge space spanning two floors. The members are respectful and the cost seems to be quite reasonable. …
Love working out at Hines Fitness
Clean and decent selection of equipment. Not too overly crowded if you go on weekends. There is only one rowing machine and it has been half broken for a few months now though. You can use it but it is slanted. Great price!
I was disappointed today. I was doing a ball exercise n probably doing it wrong n comes this guy. Instead of telling me the proper way to do it, he told me not to do that because it will affect the lights below. Not only that, he said it while walking away n there's people around. ????????????
Hone Fitness is awesome - There's never a lack of equipment (I've always been able to get a cardio machine or anything else I need without a wait), the facilities are very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. And you obviously can't beat the price!
No 100lbs dumbell
Just great
Great gym! Offers two stories of equipment, with ample amount of space to work out. It does get quite busy during the evenings. Very well maintained, with tvs, pumping music, water fountains and clean changerooms.
Very nice location, super new everything in order, I really like it make me feel like home. The staff it’s very friendly super attentive, I would recommend this gym to everybody, it’s cheap it’s good it’s new and you can also use all 7 locations. Thank you Hone fitness.
Clean gym, friendly staff, and well-equipped. Wish it were near where I lived, for I would be a regular.
Dumb and bad
Wanted to sign up for a membership but after I saw so many negative reviews and that they still require u to sign a contract for one year or pay higher price I decided to go to Planet Fitness. They just lost me as a customer. Bad business practices.
Great gym that has a real startup vibe. You can tell the owner cares and is often there. Can't beat the price. Soon there will be competition though, I've heard. Anyways it's a good option Two MAJOR complaints: 1) they play music too loud sometimes and at other times not at all - just keep it low volume all the time. 2) they have signs saying don't drop the weights or grunt - it's a gym, accept that weights will drop and unless people are going easy, there will be noise. At least the got some lifting pads. Also, if you're wondering they offer a couple short term prices like $90 for two months if you're just around for the summer or something.
Hone fitness is clean, classy & has an energizing colour scheme— & yes, the price to value ratio is the best in TO!!!! Thank you for offering an affordable gym option that includes a wide variety of cardio machines, universal weights & …
After posting a less-than-complimentary review, Hone reached out to me and personally addressed my complaint. I have to say, this made all the difference. I'm happy to remain a member of the club I've enjoyed for the past year. Thanks for listening, Hone!
Great gym great staff and amazing smoothies!!
This place is absolutely great regardless of the price. For the value nothing beats it! …
Friendly staff, cool old industrial ambiance, good equipment
Scammed out of two months of membership now despite being out of the country, and emailing the gym to let them know well in advance, and then cancelling again when they denied receiving that email even though I sent them receipts. Dealing with customers needs improvement for sure. I just needed to pause for two months but now I’ll be hard pressed to come back to this gym again.
Been trying to get off their mailing list for over three years now. I don’t even live in Toronto anymore. Enough already.
Dirty , hidden fees , and also they want 30 day notice to cancel your membership. Go to a better gym. Also there were about 5 machines that were out of service, even after a week!!!!! they did't fix them.
Great gym! Highly recommend! Facility is clean and has lots of equipment. Excellent customer service.
Awesome gym for only $10/month. Good mix of equipment and honestly don't even need your headphones because the music selection is on point.
For my first visit, the owner came and told me that I would get a discount(~100$ instead of 130$) because I was from a school close to the gym that was what he said. I told him that I would think about that came back two days later. The owner wasn’t there but a blond lady was. So I told her about the discount and she refused to give it just because « we can’t do that cause we recently opened » it was on January 2017. After arguing for 20min she still refused to give the discount. So I paid the full price. First and bad impression from the gym. Few days later, I saw the owner I asked him about the discount and he answered « well, it’s not everytime... y’know.. » I got it. Only lies to get more customers. Great mentality. Few months later, I came to cancel my membership on the 3rd of the month, what I heard before subscribing was that I am suppose to cancel my membership at the beginning of the month if I don’t want to pay an extra month, right ? So the 3rd is not the BEGINNING for them ? Really?! And they purchased an extra month without hesitation. Good job Hone Fitness. Anyway, the equipments are correct, but I’m not sure if it was worth to pay 20$ for the orange card. You only get an extra room.
Really affordable .. friendly staff. If you just want cardio and training, this is the place for you.
Switched from Goodlife, good facilities and locations, for a great price, my only compliant is that I wish they had 24 hrs or that they were open after 7pm on weekends.
This gym is not great. The price and location are good, but other aspects quickly become an annoying hindrance, and unless it's imperative for you to save a few bucks a month, it's not worth it. The staff are very nice, but there is absolutely no effort on their part to return plates or dumbbells. Ever. It's a running joke with a friend of mine to see just how messy and out of place the dumbbells and plates are gonna be upstairs. And they always are. I've never NOT had to walk around the gym like a detective trying to find the right dumbbells. At one point the 60 pound dumbbells just disappeared for like 4 days. I don't know if part of the discounted price means the staff don't put any effort here, but alas, they do not. They also just don't have enough free weights which is bizzare for a gym. Often you'll have to scour the whole second floor just to find a pair of 45 plates. I think this is because they've begun to have their middle worn out and the owner just hasn't replaced them when he takes them out. The bars are very low quality and whoever picks the equipment is not an expert (I.e. Replacing some bars with annoying spinning Olympic bars when there are no bumper plates to even do an Olympic lift. Bizarre again.) Aside from that, just little stuff like not enough cable areas, a bad selection of dumbbell weight to begin with, etc. Any one or two things aren't a big deal, but as a whole, this gym isn't worth it if you are serious about lifting and don't have a need to give up quality for price. One final note, the music they play is atrocious. Doesn't bother me with headphones but it's so so bad I need to mention it if for nothing else then the humour of it.
Locker room is a disgrace. Management severely flawed. Some front of house workers don’t seem to know how to do their job. Issues from the very top all the way down.
I want to start by saying I enjoy this gym. I've been using it for more than a year and a half now. There are a few things I wish they would change though. More mirrors would be nice. I like to check my form and sometimes I can't depending on which machine I'm on. Also, the staff is pretty lazy. They are always crowded around the front desk. It would be nice if they would spend more of their time organizing the extremely unorganized dumbbells. Also, I would really love it if they made it so we could switch out the hand grips on the machines, which is pretty standard at any other gym. I doubt it would be very difficult or costly to add that feature and it would add a lot more diversity to the workouts you could do with those machines. I've been looking into other gyms and so far I want to stay at hone but if they don't make these changes I'll probably switch. *edit* so the owner contacted me and I appreciate that. However, I do feel like he made excuses for why he couldn't accommodate my requests (besides the lazy staff.) He said he didn't know where to put any more mirrors but there are tons of spaces I can think of. Mostly, the brick walls. Also, he said that the hand grips were getting stolen and that's why he locked them in, which is reasonable when it comes to the smaller hand grips, but I don't understand how someone could walk out with large metal ones. There are staff at the front desk and I imagine there is CCTV. I did want to talk to the owner again over the phone about this but when I tried to call back he had left. Which I understand as he does manage a few locations. I just wanted to give further feedback.
Bad customer service. I subscribed the membership before Covid, and it was shutdown by covid but there was one bi-weekly fee charged after shut down. Then I cancelled my membership in February 2021 by sending an email as requested, because of moving home, while they were still shutdown. However I was charged a bi-weekely fee after they reopened in July, which I cancelled 4 months ago(they requested 1 month cancellation). Had emailed back and forth but they wouldn't refund. I decided not spending time on replying the email it's not worth my time. Whatever.
Excellent
Good tanning clean gym
New equipment, 7 squat racks (3 suitable for dead lift) and personable employees. Can't beat it for $10.
I love this gym. The equipment is new and the place is always clean. The staff is very polite and welcoming.
Amazing customer service by Joseph - the night shift manager - at the Isabella location. Me and my girlfriend went in to the location hoping to get a free trial, but ended up coming out with 2 memberships. He was incredibly friendly and flexible with the rates for me and my girlfriend. Facility is clean and has all the newest equipment.
2 floors, bunch of machines, showers, body weight area and one of the lowest price I ever saw. If you live near it is worth I find.
Excellent gym at an amazing price. The overall vibe of both staff and members is way better. Come work out, do your thing and don't be hassled. Way better than the big red competitor that is all over town. Very quiet md morning if that fits your schedule. Highly recommend.
This is a terrific gym! Lots of well maintained equipment, the place is clean, the staff are welcoming, and the price is amazing. So glad I found this place!
dishinest business run by young, dishonest, unprofessional, immature people. For a while they were also employing discriminatory hiring policies by hiring only Portuguese-speaking people. This gym doesn’t belong in Toronto. Definitely would NOT recommend over GoodLife or Planet Fitness.
Buy more plates, dumbbell and barbells that are over 100 lbs, also a loadable EZ bar. Also if you go there put back your weights when you are done.
Great gym
Clean and affordable. Perfect for students and beginners. A good number of treadmills and other cardio equipment. not recommended for advanced bodybuilders due to low dumbbell weights.( max 75lbs)
Owner nice, clean environnement, good overall.
It is way bigger than the one in Spadina.
I’ve been working out for years at a lot of different gyms around the city, this is by far my favourite. Great equipment, very clean, spacious, and all around good vibe! I’ve felt uncomfortable as a woman in weight rooms at other gyms, but never once here. I love it!!
NO A/C ITS BEEN A WEEK AND THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT , HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT
Be careful when using their bench press, it akwardly tilts forward and is not very secure. Always use a spotter. Otherwise it's very cheap and clean.
Amazing gym! Staff is very friendly. The gym has a lot of space and great equipment. I love it! It's pretty close to Bloor Yonge St.
Terrible experience the personal trainers are trash.
My experience was the worst in 5 years. Hone Fitness is great with pricing, but they have only one location, no towel services, out of Paper towels and toilet paper. The music that plays in that gym is the worst for training, you feel you like in the yoga class. If you are an experienced lifter, the weight range of dumbbells goes up to 75 pounds only. The Smith Squat machine is always out of service. And even if some other equipment breaks, it takes them forever to fix it. And the worst and funniest thing about that gym is that I got kicked out without a reason. The guy the runs the place comes up to me and starts yelling that I did not put back two plates that I have been using. And that he has been watching me for half an hour. Guys would understand me, sometimes you have this hard work out days, and when after work out you just want to hit the dressing room, shower and get home and relax. And that was one of these days, trust me I always put my weights back where I got them but this one time was just dead tired. But on the other hand if you think about it its not mandatory to put it back that’s why they have gym stuff who supposed to clean up and put the weights back. And trust me guys I went to so many gyms over the years and this was never the case. Second thought, this guy Sam Elahmar, the owner of the gym is he a weirdo??? He was watching me and my other two friends for half an hour. That’s kind of weird when you get to the gym to work out and some guy is hiding somewhere in the corner and is watching you. That freaks me out!!! Oh, and by the way my other two friends got kicked out as well. Third thought, who has a right to come up to you in the gym and start yelling at you??? I thought we live in Canada, I thought we live in a society, I thought I was a client, I thought the client is always right. I guess it’s not the case. And my last thought, this guy Sam Elahmar was threating us with his brother. I still don’t know what I said to him or did but he was yelling that he will call his brother and I will deal with him. I guess this guy needs Anger Management classes for sure. He is just an adequate person that comes up to people and starts yelling. If you don’t have Management skills, you should not be working with people. My experience was the worst in Hone Fitness. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST ANYONE IN SIGHNING UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP!!!
This is a no frills, budget friendly club that offers a low monthly rate. The second floor, the one I generally use, has a good number of cardio machines in 2 rooms, along with an additional room housing a limited number of core strengthening machines. Cardio machines have been moved a few times so the audio connectors are not in sync with the tvs in the room. As well, some of audio connectors are hanging loose and/or have static. The equipment is generally satisfactory, but not as clean as I would expect. Front desk staff have been friendly and helpful.
Kristen Just-McCarthy works at your gym and tells people she is a kinesiology, but after checking with the college of kinesiology of Ontario, she is not a kinesiology. She (Kristen Just-McCarthy) did not even go to university or college for a kinesiology's. She works out at Hone Fitness because she does legs there. She is suing Good Life Fitness. She said, she cannot workout her legs or walk properly because of an accident at Good Life Fitness, but its not true she walks find and does workout her legs. Having someone like this at your gym will only destroy the good name of your gym. People will not go to your gym or want to after seeing a Trainer like this at your gym. She has no qualifications because if you call any of the places she said she has certifications for does not excess or turns out to be all fake certifications . Look at her resume and it all fake! This woman is hired and sales steroids to the people she trains, at hardcandy a number of members said she sold them steroids, like Mike, Venice and carol…
Love this gym. Premium equipment and friendly staff. The space is attached to a juice bar and across the street from the artful dodger if you would rather a post workout patio beer. Highly recommend!!!!
This was a good spot for me close to home to get me started while back after a long period at home during COVID. The place was just what I needed and not too big. It's not fancy but for the price it's okay.
Great gym. Has anything you would want to get a workout in.
