The guys either a manager or just a plain employee, but he's quite the crook, i went to trade in some gently used football cleats and brand new boxing gloves, and i got $14! Checked and see how much they were going to be sold for! MY CLEATS WERE SOLD FOR $20.00! Plus that guy who helped me was a complete prick with a mean attitude, poor review for he buisness, never again will i continue to sell to these crooks.

I've always been impressed with Play It Again Sports in Thunder Bay... Their selection is very wide and a lot of different sports are represented. Comparing this location to one in Winnipeg I would Return To Thunder Bay's in a second... And the staff and Thunder Bay is really good at taking care of you as well

Seems like an okay store if you are looking for sports gear and know exactly what you are looking for and want. I was recently in the store for around 20 minutes and no staff came to ask if help was needed. It was completely dead and the staff were chatting with each other. Had they come over, I probably would have bought some rollerblades that day, but beyond that it seems like they have lots of stock, great for kids who grow out of everything!

I took in a (new) hockey helmet which has never been used (retail $199.99), and was only credited $52.00. The initial offer wasn’t even 20%. Not only that, the employee during checkout acted like I was the problem, when they were the ones cheating me. I’m all for local business and profit, but what a disappointment, more so in the customer service I received. If you’re looking to get ripped off come here.

Recently expanded, there's a fairly good supply of new and used equipment, and a lot of used hockey equipment. Skate sharpening services are available. Inventory is usually good and prices are okay.

Feb6/14 I visited the store to get one hockey skate fixed (busted skate holder) but the charge to repair was so high they told me I'd be better off buying a new pair. I purchased a awesome new pair which were on sale and I'm very happy with the new skates and the great service too. But I sure wish the cost to repair my old skate wasn't so exorbitantly high.

Decent selection of products, I was on the market for a pair of skates and explained that the ones I had hurt my feet and I was open to upgrading, and asked to speak with someone knowledgeable about various types, sizes, etc of skates. Someone recommended some socks, and nobody seemed motivated to move away from the congregation at the register or particularly knowledgeable about skates. I lose nothing by shopping online compared to the service I got today. Anyway, I went to Petrie’s, got great service and bought a $300 pair of skates.
