My trainer is such a great motivator and genuinely so nice! 10/10 definitely recommend! And most of all it’s so nice and spacious with great locker rooms and the shower pressure is great!!

Subpar gym. Equipment is rusty. Basketball court flooring is busted and uneven. Lots of cardio equipment though. Good for $10 biweekly ( no basketball access though ) No one really wears their mask outside of the equipment zone or wipes after using equipment. Gets really busy from 4-9pm. They do have sanitizer bottle and wiping towel for each person though. Not worth to pay for the vip pass which gives you basketball court access. You get what you pay for here

This is not a fancy gym. If you want fancy there are better options. If you want a gym that has all the necessary equipment and an excellent price this is it. No pool, which is good because those cost a fortune to keep up and that would up your fee. It is open 24 hours most days so if you are an early bird like me it is excellent. I don't use a trainer so I cannot comment about those services. It gets five stars because it does what it sets out to do at a great price. READ THE SIGNUP AGREEMENT. I have noticed people having issues at the desk from time to time but it is almost always because they didn't read the agreement. There is a bi-annual fee for maintenance.

I have been emailing them and calling them since past 5 days, no response. My credit card was charged $50 even though I am not a member of the gym anymore and haven’t been there since a year. I haven’t renewed my membership neither was I asked if I wanted to, but they still have guts to take money from my account. They are very unprofessional, if anybody is planning to join, please be aware they just steal money from you nothing else.

The new management is disgusting and does not have any regard for clients. I have been a member from the beginning, and the management at that time was courteous and came out and met the clients, got feedback and concerns and addressed them. Since this new management, they have changed some of the previous benefits and they are only concerned with taking people's money. Don't get me started on trying to cancel membership, like other clients they want courier delivery, why can't the accept the mail from the client just as if a courier was delivering it. It is an attempt to delay cancelation and take more money from clients. Oh and they advise of a cancellation fee. Companies like these should be held accountable. I asked for someone to call me in the several emails I sent them, but they don't have the courtesy to even do that. WORST PLACE EVER.

This place will straight up take all your money if you're not careful. I've been a member at World since it opened and had to cancel after constant charging issues. Unfortunately, my current gym closed due to the pandemic and dumped me back at World. I wasn't interested in being a part of any gym so I immediately cancelled my membership. At the time if cancelling they told me it was too late to be refunded and that I could use the gym until the last month is up. Since then I've been charged TWICE! After speaking to one of the front desk assistants, they claim that they can't help me.

I’ve been going to this gym for about 3 years. Staff has been very helpful and polite. The gym has a wide variety of equipment for your usual gym goer. They also have a designated area for deadlifts, squats, (powerlifting and olympic weight lifting). Has everything I need to continue making gains and the price is good for what you get. Please buy out where National Sports use to be a super gym pls :)

The only reason I’m giving 1 star is because the option doesn’t exist to leave zero stars. This place is awful. The management is unprofessional and the locker rooms are terrible and in desperate need of proper ventilation. Broken equipment takes over a year to be fixed, no matter how many times you ask. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for a long time but due to being extremely busy have not had the chance to go in person. Apparently that is the only way that they can cancel it. I said I was going to do it last week but got tied up with work and school. They make it almost impossible to cancel your membership. Even if I have to take a day off to cancel my membership I’m going to get it done this coming week. Do not join this gym. Their prices are fairly low but a true reflection of the type of place it is. You indeed get what you pay for. I highly recommend if you’re serious about your health and fitness that you spend the extra money and go to a place which values you as a member.

Polite staff, clean gym, good equipment, tough to get spots due to covid. Spots get booked within seconds of them opening up. I would suggest having the full day spots open up a day before and give people a chance to actually use the gym. Good gym overall if you're looking for one in Brantford.

Customer service = horrible . I've reached out to world Gym via Instagram Message Twice: message was seen but they didn't care to respond . I called numerous times:no answer and the VM keeps saying they are closed due to the lockdown. CUsTOMER SERVICE needs a big time improvement - they have the courtesy to withdraw funds in a second but don't have the courtesy to respond to inquires . This gym is decent - not overly crowded. My main reason is the child minding option they have (pre-covid). The equipment in the ladies area can be updated as they're often "broken". Other equipment could be added such as a elliptical, stair climber , etc rather than having 4 (2 broken) treadmills. Their customer service is HORRIBLE both virtually and in-person . Thinking of canceling.

I was never a member of this gym but they started charging me the monthly payment I used to pay over at Express Fitness without my approval. Their excuse was that they sent an email out with regards to the merge but they didn't have my email on file. Wonder how many times they gave that excuse to all the other customers they scammed. They wont cancel your membership over the phone for some reason

Cmon WG, stop charging premium prices when you're not a premium gym. Also on top of that, you guys did not pause my membership during covid lol. Definitely will not be back.

Just looking at all the prior comments made by Express Fitness members and how none of them received any electronic/physical communication from World Gym after their "merger" indicates that there's something illegal going on or poor business ethics being practiced by this franchise. Go to the gym immediately and cancel - get confirmation electronically or on paper. Go dispute it at your bank & tell your family & friends to never attend this gym.

They’re unclear with their membership contracts. Instead of letting me go month to month when my contract ended, they extended it. I tried to cancel, and was assured on two separate occasions of a date that would be my last bill, only to be billed again and told something different by their “financial” lady. I don’t see the benefit in being dishonest with your customers.

TL;DR Change your credit card or cancel the membership if your credit card expires. World gym is sneaky. My credit card expired during lockdown, wasn't able to go in to cancel my membership, yet my account was still being charged and they asked me to pay $380. During lockdown, my credit card expired and world gym wasn't charging me, so I thought my membership was just cancelled. No one from world gym called me or contacted me about this (though other memberships I've been with did). After a couple months, I told my friend about this situation and they told me that I should go back because they might still be charging me and so I did and they told me that I owe them $380. Apparently for every declined transaction, there's an NSF fee of $35. It added up to about $380 even though I haven't gone in since pre COVID (more than a year). We talked down the numbers to $250 however it's still a large amount for using nothing, where no one from their team contacted me about this issue. Their management told me that they only contact you once the amount goes up to $500. Oh yes, thank you for letting me know about this AFTER my account reaches $500 lol

No matter why you want to exercise, loose weight, body build, fight old age, doctors orders, etc. This is the gym for you. Excellent facility with excellent state of the art equipment, friendly atmosphere, lots of parking and well located. Great selection of classes plus tanning booths and hydra massage chairs. Of course all these good things can’t be appreciated without a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Topping it off with a price that can’t be beat. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

FRAUD ALERT!! A little tip, from one businessman to another, you shouldn't charge people for services they didn't purchase. I didn't even know this place existed until my bank account was charged by them. Apparently the gym I attended before covid is now closed and my membership was transferred to this place (which I'm sure is illegal since it is a paid membership) without my consent, they didn't even notified me through mail, email or any other ways. I reported them to be fraud to my bank. I reccomend everyone else to do the same if you are charged by these ...

I signed a 1 year contract in December of 2019. About a week in, I had to move to Montreal so I called them to cancel my contract. They made it difficult for me to cancel the contract as they wanted proof of address for my new residence. I would have been just paid whatever fees owing at the time to just cancel it but then covid hit. While the gym was closed they were still charging me throughout the pandemic. I called them again to cancel but they told me I had defaulted on like 6 months of payments and I owed $333 dollars lol. So turns out they charge $35 every time your payment declines. Anyway, good luck getting my money this is what you get for asking me to mail a physical letter in 2020 lol

World gym has been charging me for the last few months, when I have never stepped foot in the gym and agreed to be a member. They are charging me because they had a merger with express fitness, I cancelled my express fitness a long time ago! Why charge people that haven’t come in to grab a fob or even got a tour around the facility? World gym are crooks and should be avoided at all costs. I reach out to recancel my membership and they say it’s going to take 2-3 weeks to process my request. Scam artists. Avoid at all costs.

Facilities are great! Very clean, approachable staff, delicious smoothies. During the first lockdown, my credit card expired. Upon re-opening, I had forgotten completely about the gym. They charged my account from June-October without notifying me what was happening. This resulted in over $300 in dues. I believe this was done in order to maximize profits, with no concern for the customer. Furthermore, I was unable to cancel my membership until dues were paid, which could only result in more fees. Great facilities. Just be sure to watch your credit card - they will be happy to extract every single dollar they can from you without your knowledge and will hide behind the contract when asked why they couldn't behave in an ethical manner.

I wish there was a 4.99 star. This gym is just about perfect to suit anyone on their fitness journey. The gym is always beyond clean. The equipment is top notch and in good repair. It the lack of "core" machinery at this gym. There is a crunch machine but nothing else. For us older folks that are a little banged up it would be great to have a more robust section of machines to do an effective core workout.

Came as a guest with a friend. Fairly busy gym and kind of small. Weight section was good along with the squat racks/bench press. Any other sort of workout involving the turf area or sled work is impossible. There are always people laying on the turf and using it as a stretching area. I also asked the front desk for attack ropes multiple times but the request was passed onto management which never gets resolved. Not sure if this would be considered a commercial gym but the service provided isn't the greatest. I understand why the membership fees are lower than other commercial gyms.

This gym has been hit badly with the pandemic so they are finding every reason to charge you. They charge 2 maintenance fees per year.. one in March and one in September. Why should I be charged a maintenance fee if the gyms were not open for the first half of the year? What is there to maintain.. one in March and another one coming up in September. Also they just charged everyone's expired cards and there are NSF fees which they don't want to give back without notice. The gym staff are being pressed by upper management and have no solutions. This gym is going bankrupt very soon. Get out of here.

Nice and clean gym, but very shady. Not even standard confusing and unclear policies (to be expected) but complete lying and scamming from management. Not only am I refused a 180$ refund for a service that I did not receive, (due to Covid, they were unable to provide the training services at the time agreed upon which allows for cancellation in the contract. They demanded I reschedule) As well as 144.55$ in random charges to my card more than 4 months after cancelling my plan. (still inquiring about this one) Also do not be surprised if Kelly simply stops replying to your emails if you don’t agree with her inability to read the contract terms. Nonetheless, I would advise anyone to steer clear of this shady establishment

I just joined this gym! Amazing atmosphere! I don't normally write reviews, but felt it was well deserved. The service is fantastic, feel welcomed each time I go to workout. I also learned the gym is family owned, which came as a shock! The owner actually showed me around, which I thought was pretty cool. PLUS the equipment is all brand new, which is a game changer!

I have to agree with all the 1 stars out there. These guys are ruthless with their "surprise" fees and operate with extremely poor customer service on multiple occasions. I've had my gym membership automatically renewed after I had expressly asked for it to be cancelled, double charged me on two separate accounts, and charged me again for maintenance fees -- all while their gym was closed during the pandemic and none of the public were able to use their services. Not a great gym, and not a great way to run business.

Overall, the gym is very clean and has all the equipments needed. I have also attended the yoga classes which are very relaxing. The studio room is also great to do stretches. Stephanie really listened to my expectations of a gym and worked with me to obtain a plan that fits my needs instead of selling me a package I wouldn't use. I highly recommend World Gym Brantford!

Gym facility is okay.but its their policy and about the service they provide is poor. All of the other gyms are providing no commitment membership while this brand(No-no commitment) +Specifically only have two locations near GTA and to keep their customers they are not realy service friendly too. Ofcouse if someone wants to cancel their membership after and year they should be able to does not matter if they have taken the full paymemt or not. I know this brand does not have lot of customers but if you provide good customer service customers will be attracted sooner or later.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!!!!!! This is the worst place ,I been there in March one day ,week before lockdown. I didnt start any membership with them that day coz I didnt have my card to pay for it. In july ,I started getting e-mails from them asking for my credit card number and I told the lady that I didnt signed any membership but continued calling me for payment. This is such ridiculous place ,I never been there but they asking me for money. Think before you go there ,they just want to steal money.

Travelled from Ajax to World Gym Scarborough to use these physical guest passes. The incompetent manager rejected them saying they are old and for reasons related to Covid although there is no expiry date on the passes. I will not be attending this facility and also share my experience with all my friends that have a World Gym membership.

Excellent location in the lyden park mall and Great positive environment. Great for every fitness level. I honestly never thought I'd fit in at any gym but I feel very comfortable here. The staff are very friendly and accommodating as well. And my kids never want to leave kids world the staff there are very attentive with the kids! By far the best gym!!

Cancelled our memberships to this gym, instead they froze the account and we were continued to be charged. Then we were stuck with an outstanding balance which had to be paid due to collections. With the pandemic we will not be going to any gym but I will never recommend this gym to anyone. I am seeing that we are enough the only ones to deal with this. Make sure when canceling your membership to get it in writing or record the call or they will freeze it and charge you again at a later date.

The absolute worst gym ever! Do not sign up with this gym. I went to cancel my gym membership as I did not want to continue attending the gym and they charged me 300$! 300$ for what?! They told me my account bounced every time they tried making a payment… I called the bank and they told me that this gym did not attempt to make any transaction. Why am I gonna pay $300 when 1) the gyms were not even open during covid! 2) even if I were to be charged it does not equal to $300. 3) Other businesses are able to take money from my account. Therefore, it is not a problem with my card. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Asked for managers number and they provided me with an email…ofc they won’t respond. This is absolutely frustrating and ridiculous Just save yourself from a headache and don’t attend this gym. I would give this gym a rating of 0.

I started in 2019 and have never had a problem, they stayed open so long during covid and remained so clean. It never is over crowded, people are friendly, staff has always been welcoming, I absolutely enjoy my experience! I’ve yet to try the hydro massage chairs :)

This gym membership look a like a good deal, but be careful. They set a trap for you how to withdraw more money from you. They withdraw extra money ever 6 months as Maintainance fee which they don’t tell you when you sign up. They were withdrawing the monthly fee from my credit card for my wife membership. I canceled my credit card because it was lost. I forgot to notify the gym. After 6 or 7 months they stopped my wife when she was going for work out and told her that she didn’t pay the monthly fee for last 6 months. She said ok, I will pay now, no problem it is just $66, They said, it is it $276, They further explained, $11 monthly fee plus $35/month none sufficient fund charge. They said they couldn’t withdraw money from my credit card in last 6 months. I also talked to them and asked them that why didn’t they notify her if they couldn’t withdraw the fee. They simply said it is not their responsibility. First, I have never heard any company will charge a none sufficient fee for a Credit Card. Second, they should have notified us the first time the withdrawal didn’t go through, As a gesture of good customer service and curtesy to your members, you should notify your members if you have their contact info. The matter of fact is that you set up a trap for your members, how to get more money from them.

I had a 3 day pass to try out the gym, when I walked in and heard the staff at the front desk talking about another person who worked there and judging their workout. I know the person personally and Thought it was pretty disrespectful. I didn’t want to workout in a gym where I felt judged. The facility looked nice and it’s unfortunate that people aren’t welcomed especially when they’re just trying to work on themselves. That is what a gym is for isn’t it?

Sort the ratings by lowest and don't believe all the fake positive reviews. This gym is greedy and sneaky. They will fraudulently charge you and never respond to your emails. They will not put you into direct contact with a manager and surprise fees just seem to pop up everywhere. There are much better gyms in the area who have the same priced memberships with no surprise fees and responsible management. (Who also don't post fake positive reviews) I was a member from 2015-2018 and somehow was being charged after the pandemic ended. I told them I canceled my membership years ago but they somehow ended up charing me again and refuse to refund me or tell me why

Opening up a new business of this scale going is stressful enough, but opening right before we get hit with a pandemic is unimaginable...to see this group fight through it is inspiring. Disappointed with how they’re handling the 10 person limit during the code red. They redirect people to their website if you want to work out.My old gym used to take appointments over the phone and it was fair as they could see who was calling and limit the visits of the mentally ill, narcissists, muscle heads, body dysmorphics etc. It’s impossible to get on as I have to compete continually with the same people.

It's been about 5 years since I've been to this gym and I gotta say since last time I came here they upgraded alot. Management is friendly and intentive, they have clothing and smoothies, it's up basically 24/7 with a few exceptions, everyone in the gym is mostly kind and will offer to help out. They actually wipe down the equipment which is nice. Over all if you come her for the pro membership you'll get your money's worth. Most of every gym equipment is here including a boxing bag

Do not attend this gym, it is a complete scam!! I cancelled my membership back in May 2019 in-person, and the collection agency just recently contacted me saying that my membership was never cancelled and I owe them quite a lot. I was never previously contacted about these overdue payments by the gym, and it was suddenly reported to the collection agency. Their communication is terrible, the management does not care about the clients, and they are extremely unprofessional. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I am very disappointed with World Gym Brantford. I signed up for personal training in February. I specifically went to world gym because of a certain trainer and world gym is an iconic gym...very excited to get one in Brantford. I had 6 sessions before Covid happened. Six months later the gym is open but I am not going to return to any gym for a long time (my son has special needs and I am doing what I can to protect him). My trainer also quit and I have no desire to train with any of the other trainers. I asked for a refund on my personal training because of the pandemic I won’t be returning. This gym at first completely ignored my emails, social media messages and phone calls. I had to contact world gym international just for someone to contact me. World gym refuses to refund me. I get that there is a contract, however, we are in a pandemic and I have special circumstances. It’s too bad they didn’t want to make this customer happy. Now in two years hopefully less, when I’m ready to go back to a gym, I can use my personal training sessions. I’m not sure why they want a client who is very unhappy with them. So not motivated at all to be there or ever go back. $600 is all I want back and could really use the money right now. We are supposed to all be in this together...I would have stayed a member and referred many people but now I won’t refer anyone and I tell them why.

Went in to cancel the membership and demand a refund. Haven't heard back from the AR department in weeks. Definitely will contact the better business bureau

The World Gym in Brantford is very clean an well equipped for all levels of user’s. It has a very good mix of free weights an machine’s. It also has a great cardio deck with a good mix of tread mills, elliptical’s, bikes an stepper’s. Theirs also rowing machines in another area. Staff an owner are very helpful an knowledgeable. Great Gym very happy so far.

This place left a sour taste in my mouth after charging me 300 plus dollars after coming back from the pandemic. They did not contact me prior and tell me they are still charging me. I tried canceling my membership and I got the run around on my phone. When you conplain at the front desk they are not able to help you. So far all 3 of my friends are also having the same issue and many other members. The gyms alright but the service is next to garbage.

The hydro massage, red light therapy and Styku are options that many gyms do not provide. I will never pay their fraudulent charges. Forget small claims court with all of you as witness I am going to sue the franchise owner and World Gym corporation for abusive tactics. SCAM ALERT: AT SIGN UP - This gym will conveniently fail to inform that they charge a $30 "maintenance fee", 30 days after enrollment, and then charge $30 subsequently EVERY 6 MONTHS, thereafter. This means that by month 13, after fulfilling your initial 1 year contract, you would have effectively paid them an additional $90 ON TOP OF YOUR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES. If you try to cancel, they will charge you a $100 cancellation fee. This is how they steal $100 from new members; and $60 from existing members, EVERY YEAR. This is the only gym that charges this, while not offering any other unique service or amenity --- which means that any new member sign up deals that they promote, WILL NOT ACTUALLY SAVE CUSTOMERS ANY MONEY. Not to mention, as of Nov 2020 due to covid restrictions, there is currently no availability from 5am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday to book a workout. I am paying for a membership that I virtually cannot use. Save your money folks. For the same cost, you can get a membership elsewhere with better service, a better facility and you can deal with management that believes in trustworthy business practices. Shame on you World Gym.

I tried cancelling my membership today because I haven't been to this gym since June 2019. Today is August 19, 2020. It seems that this can not be done by phone, email or fax. To the owner of this gym...this is a stressful time and because of this pandemic, people are sometimes not comfortable having this type of interaction in person. I am not sure why I need to come in person to cancel this membership. I signed up pretty much online! I sent a void check and form via email to you guys. Making this process this difficult for clients is not good!

I never signed up for this Gym. They got my CC info from a previous gym I attended, Express Fitness, and without my approval began billing my credit card. I called them to ask for a refund and to stop charging my CC and they said this would not be possible and that I would need to pay a fee and come in to cancel my account (which i don't have with them). Just go to your credit card and issue a charge back, its easier.

Same issues as everyone else in the comments, Can't cancel. If your company reimburses you for gym fees, World Gym takes over 2 months to provide you with receipts. Has no trouble charging you every month, including during the pandemic when going to the gym was restricted. There's a lot of alternatives now at this price point with better customer service.
