We have all the feddbacks of real people like you who purchased the products of GoodLife Fitness Scarborough Kennedy and Lawrence (Gym) in Scarborough (Canada).
At this moment this firm gets a score of 4.2 over 5 and that rating is based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is really high, and it's based on a very large number of scores, so we may think that the rating is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are happy with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to write tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Gym belongs to the category of Gym.
The best Good life from scarborough to durham hands down, new clean facility, equipment is new, a lot of machines
It does get really crowded at times but a good gym
Thanks for the heads up on comments on here. Hubby and I moved up here and was the closest gym.He is not going to join now. I joined and complained about the lack of air and coolness in the ladies room. I prefer not to get in a confrontation when someone dares to pull that big large fan plug off. I will if I have to next time. They did not put any extra fans by the weight machine area. Just fixed and replaced the other ones. They are only near by the treadmills and bikes only. Glad I have a treadmill and bike at home. We are thinking of getting weight equipment if I cancel my membership. Update I cancelled my membership. The manager doesn't give a crap and for the staff just a pay check..lol.. The parking is terrible and what a mess when you walk in the entrance from outside. Garbage overfill all over the ground and windows not kept clean
Opened 24/4. Decent location with a separate women's area. Easily accessible by TTC. Equipment is decent and there usually isn't a long wait, if any, for machines. Location is moving to a bigger location this month. LOCATION HAS MOVED SOUTH TO KENNEDY JUST NORTH OF LAWRENCE.
Great gym, big upgrade from old one. Turf. Olympic Lift area. 9 Squat Racks. 150lb dbs. Sauna.
I really like this gym! In fact, this is my main gym that I go to even though I live at Yonge and Sheppard. In the summer, I will purposely ride my motorcycle out here just to go to this gym. Why? First of all, the gym is new so most of the equipment is fresh and well-maintained. Also, in regards to the squat racks, there are many of them. There are way more than my location at Shepherd and Yonge. This is important for me, because I find that many locations do not have enough racks to use and I have to end up either waiting for a long time or skipping the legs that day. There are also a lot of benchpress benches and a lot of dumbbells. There’s an Astro turf location for everyone to use too and I find that a really good area for other exercise. As a word of advice, the only times that I would avoid are during the peak times in the evenings between 5 to 8 PM. It gets a little bit crowded so I usually try to go either in the morning, afternoon, or weekends. The whole gym is very well lit, has a nice studio, a nice stationary bike area, and is relatively clean. I hope this review helps others deciding which GoodLife to go to.
The best gym in the GTA, hands down. New facility, new equipment, friendly staff. 10/10
This new location is stunning. After doing a demo here for my supplement company Alpha Performance Supplements, I got to meet a ton of members that love to be in the gym. Would highly recommend!
Great large location
Good gym and nice staff.
Vibrant, modern, clean, good range of equipment and spacious. Good lockers, safe and friendly.
Very clean and well maintained gym! Lots of different machines and weights to choose from, and the staff is very friendly!
It's old and musty; the club is in the basement. The upside is that the staff is fantastic, and class schedules are good. This club will be closing at the end of the summer 2017 and a new location is being opened about 5km south on Kennedy near Lawrence.
This club used to be a Future Shop so you can imagine the size. Lots of free weights with dumbbells up to 150lbs. Lots of cardio machines and weight machines. This gym seems geared towards serious fitness enthusiasts but you will see the more leisure types as well. The club is relatively new so it is clean and all of the equipment works well. There is an arobics room as well as a turf area. Lots of parking.
It gets the job done. Not as nice as other gyms. The staff is fine. Glad they have the massage chairs. Been going for years as it is closest to my work.
One of the best Gym in Canada. They are fully modernised Gym & good environment. They take special care of every single members. Overall great place for exercise.
Great quality and fit for the area. Not a snobby bankers gym. This is weightlifting, aerobics, exercising straight up with no chaser. Clean towels, low key people and style, come as you are welcome.
The place looks like a basement where they tried to fit as many machines as possible, and consequently the people look and feel like hamsters on a wheel. The smell is also hard to tolerate. The women's section was tiny.
A solid gym where machines are readily available. The change rooms are clean and provide every option you need. The free weight area is large and a good temperature for working out. Water fountains are easily accessible and the members are friendly and generally courteous. The only issue is that there is rarely a staff member to be found in the free weight area for questions or concerns. Otherwise, nice gym!
Has 5 showers in the men's change room with only one floor drain in the middle stall. If you are in the middle 3 stalls you can see yellow pee flowing in from the next stalls. There is no way you can avoid someone else's pee coming in contact with your feet even with a flip flop Has 2 toilets with dirty and or loose toilet seats and 2 urinals which is out of order most of the time. Broken locker doors is a common seen now a days One of the best weight section big but not very airy. Overall an ok gym if you don't take a shower
The gym is a little run down but well maintained. It is moving to a new building soon. Can't wait! Can get loud if there is a class going on as there are no walls around spin.
I have not been active in years, cancelled my membership.
Its a really nice place to workout. Lots of equipment and a separate women's only section
I like this gym a lot but the construction have make it so hard to access it. I have to fine other locations
This is a great good life. Only reason it's not 5 is the staff don't seem very friendly.
This place is always well maintained. A bit small sauna but that's not my priority
One of the best Goodlife's that I've been to. It is a big location with new equipment that is always maintained. If there is a machine out of service, it is usually back up and running the next day. I also really like the fact that there is a Women's Only section, it's a decent size with a good amount of machines and free weights. There is also a fitness room for group classes like Zumba and a Spin Room.
Great gym to go to a nice and clean limit the amount of people friendly staff.
The place is pretty huge, not a lot of free space if you want your own place to work out though. Lots of equipment and lovely staff! The women's only part inside the women's changeroom is quite small but still doable :)
First day back after a year and a half. Gym was not busy however there were members NOT wearing masks between workout stations. Spoke to the front desk staff and they did nothing about it. If people dont follow the rules we WILL be in a 4th wave again, overwhelming our ICUs and more people getting very sick. There were also not enough hand santizing stations at this location.
I started just recently, the gym is very clean and neat. The staff and those who workout are very friendly and helpful
1) Spacious inside and out for parking!! 2) Things I wish they had: more group classes and clocks around the room so that I don't have to carry around a watch!
Very clean, but also very busy. Average size goodlife. Not worth going out of your way for.
Top notch newer facility. Everything is spaced out very well with tons of parking, though you may be hunting for parking during the busier times. Clean areas, and nicely laid out lockers. Showers are also available.
Amazing customer service by Jeff. Was very helpful with updating my membership information.
It has all the facilities you need with how you workout, the only thing missing is the swimming pool.
Parking Space - No worries at all ; Advance Booking must on the APP Large gym studio with all the equipments , Courteous staff, 48 max allowed with social distancing., Fees is $35.52 biweekly accessible to multiple locations & $22.00 for just 1 location.
Nice people. Huge free weights area upstairs. Sad that it'll be moving.
Wonderful gym, great facilities and really good staff
Staff are very helpful and are always engaging at the front desk. Hours are very convenient, facility kept very clean.
Really spacious and wide variety of workout equipments
Totally snatched me away from other clubs. I LOVE THIS LOCATION. Very well equipped, super clean, and they've got a super team working there. The crowd is amazing too! Made friends here I'd love to always keep x indefinitely the best GL location I've ever been to
Friendly front desk staff however there's an older lady trainer. Very rude to customers not the first time. She needs to learn how to communicate effectively and non pushy or come off as arrogant
Gym is probably one of the biggest goodlifes in scarborough. Rarely wait for a machine.
False advertisement. Their sign claims open 24 hours, but they close at 10pm weekdays and 6pm on weekends.
Great location - spacious and has more than what we need. It's one of the last goodlifes that has squat racks which is the main reason it's been my primary gym over the last year. The staff is also wonderful and very accommodating. Highly recommend!
The gym is beautiful and new with tons of equipment, but the front staff isnt very friendly.
Clean and well spaced. Parking available. Women's only section very functional
Brand new facility (August 2017)... open room concept, easy to get around and find what you need, great selection of cardio machines, weights, and weight machines. Nice to walk right into gym and jump on machines, change rooms right near entrance, no obstacle course to go thru for either. Staff have been very welcoming and friendly. Lots of parking and set up so all are near entrance. So far the only "drawback" is at night, the building is set back a bit and the GOODLIFE sign on the road is not lite up, so the driveway is easily missed as it is in the dark.
TERRIBLE GYM! DO NOT SIGN UP HERE!! On July 8th 2018 I went into Goodlife Goodlife on Kennedy, it is by far the worst Goodlife I have been to. Filled with unprofessional associates who do not have basic customer service training. In short, don't trust them and never give your account details to them for Direct Debit as they are fraudulent and immoral and all they care about is money earned in any possible way! My mother was told by a Goodlife personal trainer that she would get a free 2 day trial before getting 1 month training for $500. Mind you my mother doesn’t speak English very well. She said the personal trainer made her sign the contract before giving her her “2-day free” trial. She took 2 classes and saw a $500 charge on her credit card when she was VERBALLY TOLD by the personal trainer that the $500 is for training for the month. And she did not receive her free trial day as well, as promised by this personal trainer. On June 16th I went in to speak with the manager in charge of personal training. He was very professional, understanding and apologized for the misunderstanding and he refunded us $250 because he said my mom already took two lessons with the trainer so she has to pay for it even though she didn’t know $500 is for only 4 sessions with a trainer. If she had known those were the prices she wouldn’t have never signed up for that deal. Nevertheless we were told that we will not be charged for anything going forward. We we’re happy with the customer service and he told us he will train that individual better and tell her to be more clear about the contracts and prices when signing up other members. On July 6th we were charged $500 AGAIN but this time on her Chequing account. We went in to ask for our contract to see why we had auto-renewal personal training and Gajen at the front desk REFUSED to give us OUR contract for "security reasons." Gajen was very rude and impatient, and did not seem to want to speak with us. He said come back next week or call customer service, he can’t help us. He continued to help other guests who came after us totally avoiding us. Which is when I got upset, and raised my voice. When he finally got to us he opened the account and saw that there is an automatic renewal for the personal training, I asked him if I can have the contract which states my mom signed up for automatic renewal for personal training. He refused and was VERY rude, I asked him why we were not allowed to have OUR contract and be able to read it? He said for security reasons he was not allowed to give us OUR contract. I than asked for his name but he refused to give me his name and said he will call the police if I don’t leave. He ran to the back office and and sent out another associate by the name of “ISHMAEL,” he came out and said “who is the one with the issue” I said “all I want is the name of the associate I spoke with” ISHMAEL said “Ohhh your one of THOSE people” and walked away and began to help other customers totally ignoring me. I have video evidence of the incident where I ask Ishmeal multiple times in a respectful manor for the associates name because he threatened to call the cops on me. So I have all rights to ask for his name. Ishmael said "you are rude and im not giving you his name and you can leave". Gajen and Ishmeal at Goodlife on Kennedy & Lawrence have disgusting customer service, they need to be trained or fired. Never have I ever experience such TERRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. These associates are a repulsive representation to what Goodlife Fitness Stands for. I currently have a membership at Goodlife Markington and they have great customer service, respectful ethical employees But that is the least I can say for Goodlife on Kennedy. From being lied to by a personal trainer about free trial, about the price of the package to being threatened by a Goodlife employee...it has left a terrible taste in my mouth about Goodlife. I will do everything in my power to tell EVERY SINGLE person I know not to go to Goodlife on Kennedy!
Great gym. Big, bright, and friendly staff.
Stretching mats need to be cleaned more frequently. Nice staff and generally clean space.
Love this new gym! It's like night and day compared to the "dungeon" that shut down (although I have to admit I do miss at times) but the lack of proper ventilation was a major issue at the old location not to mention the bright open space and easy access layout are major upgrades!
Huge gym.
Good gym, friendly staff and good lessons as well.
Very poor customer service and as a paying memeber for training, when you do cancel without paying in full they threaten you with legal action and when you pay in full they refuse to return your money. Even if you accept the fact you have to pay the cancellation fee for a refund on your remaining sessions.
It is big and roomy. A lot of parking spots. ????
I wan not happy getting my jacket and car keys stolen but the gym is nice tho.
Love this location. Lots of equipment and lots of space. Definitely the best gym in the area.
Honestly the staff are very nice and I’ve been apart of Goodlife for 8 years now. I came from the previous location and the culture is still strong in the new location on Lawrence & Kennedy. The new location is very airy And open! I love this Gym.
the staff in this good life fitness was so kind specially there was a guy in check in he was so kind and so respectful. which I appreciated and he also help me a lot.
Certainly not the best Goodlife in Scarborough but it gets the job done. Apparently this location will be moving later in the year to a new location where the old Future Shop at Kennedy and Lawrence was.
A lot of barbell and squat racks. pretty decent sized gym.
Great staff. New machines and i see them get cleaned daily. Great establishment
It's listed as open 24hrs, but I went at 1930hrs only to be advised that they were closing at 2000hrs
Clean gym, friendly staff and not over populated
Huge location with great parking. Offers 24 hour services which is excellent. Staff are professional and courteous. Charlotte provided wonderful service on our 1st visit and was able to answer all our questions. I'll definitely update the review if necessary once my daughter starts at the facility.
Always clean and they have a bunch of stuff my regular gym didn't have. This is my new regular gym, I drive farther to come here. The women's side actually has a proper weight section with 3 benches and the cables.
Big facility. Has ample equipment in terms of cardio and weights (benches, barbells, dumbbells, cable machines). It does however lack plate loaded equipment. It is very clean inside and the washrooms/locker rooms (as well as inside the lockers themselves) are cleaned often. Paper towels are usually always full and no garbage on thr floors. The main downside to this location is that it is usually very busy. The squat racks are in high demand and people tend to hold on to them for extended periods of time. (I've seen people spend their entire workout session on the squat rack alone). Just be prepared. Also, if you happen to get one, it is not uncommon for someone to just stand in 'line' behind you waiting for it. This can be a little awkward and make you feel rushed. Clientelle here is much better than the old location too.
Spacious, lots of equipment, great classes, nice staff.
"OPEN 24 HRS" is posted all over this location - when they're not actually open 24 hrs!!! Really?!?!? That's a misleading marketing practice as far as I'm concerned. I went on a Saturday at 7:30pm - only to be told they close at 8pm. Take that OPEN 24 HRS sign off, because it's a false statement.
Very clean and spacious gym with a women’s only section. Plenty of equipment and squat racks but no squat rack in the women’s section. -1 star because it’s not 24/7!!
The Machine Area is too Small but Very good and large Free Weight area. Everyone is working out (Not hanging out). Some body builders like showing off but OK.
A good up-to-date gym with a clean vibe.
Beautiful new location. There is plenty of equipment and free parking. This is probably the best designed Goodlife I've been to. Because they're out in Scarborough they can take advantage of more square footage than downtown locations, and they very much do that. Some gyms with this amount of space don't maximize their equipment. That is not the case with this one, as there were plenty of benches and power racks available. This location is suitable for gym-goers that are serious about their training.
Awesome place for working out. Group exercise sessions are well planned & enough to keep you busy for the entire week. Zumba & Bodyflow are my personal favourites. The instructors are helpful & well trained. Strongly recommend.
Nice gym. Only down side is that it closes early on weekends
Awesome gym, all new equipment lots of parking. Good looking people and staff is nice.
New location, very clean, friendly staff. Can get very busy between 4-7 pm.
New premises so everything is clean. I have only been here for the spin classes so far.
this goodlife fitness made me cry for 30 minutes straight. came in to ask about the 3 day trial pass and a man named sachin PRESSURED ME into signing some forms without a clear explanation and scammed me of $100. 0/10 would recommend.
Very good
Point where I started the life again from. The only thing that i dont like about the gym is , people get undressed in front of everyone. There is a changing room they never used. They just take off their clothes willingly . savage behaviour.
Newer larger location. New equipment. Clean. Spacious. Friendly staff. Ample parking.
This location gets very busy. Wait times for equipment and weights can be ridiculous at times. Parking here is a nightmare. Clearly way over member capacity. Change rooms are not cleaned as often as they should be during peak times.
This place has a great selection of free weights! The cardio section is smaller than others. Staff are chill and relaxed. Sometimes they run out of towels... And they just can't wash them fast enough.
Large facilities with a big selection of machines that are pretty new, women's area is nice and there is lots of space in the change room. The parking lot can be busy and could use a few more spaces.
Perfect I wish they also had swimming pool
This used to be my favourite Goodlife because of the location and the layout of the gym! Such a great space. However, their customer service is absolutely horrifying. Their "fitness manager" Martha Taekendisa should probably invest in a few customer service training courses.(Perhaps, goodlife should do this for her.) She has no idea what the word professionalism even means. This lady directly grabbed used un-sanitized weights from me, invading my personal space while claiming she is serious about her "covid procedures" that is lovely and all.. (all for covid precautions) but, how about you lead by example? Touching my sweaty unsanitized weights and invading my personal space to prove a point for your ego is not a good look. Not for you, not for the other members that witnessed her behaviour and especially not for the Goodlife brand. They clearly take training their employees very seriously...
I love this gym, the atmosphere is very welcoming and it is always clean.
I understand all the negative reviews but i love this gym because its a gym. Its like going to war or hell not going to the gym to be treated nicely and take it easy. From the busted heater mold and rusty weight I really think thats what a gym should be. But thats just one guys opinion.
Would've given it a 4-5 star easily since the gym is very nice and well maintained but the weekend hours are just so stupid here. Closing at 6 while other gyms are open till 8:30 makes zero sense
I use to go there, the most of the staff is nice! But its very dirty there and not large enough.
Gym is good , staff is friendly, they are very keen on selling up but they need to hire more people to clean the washrooms often. The showers are missing shampoo in one conditioner in the other.
It's dirty and gross the whole place smells of BO which is expected at a gym the workers done care at all but if you're looking for a good gym the one on Victoria terrace is amazing
Gym is fine. Haven't had any problems.
I met a friend and worked out together, didn't get to explore and really use all the services and everything that they have to offer but generally speaking the facilities are clean and well spaced out.
I love this location at any time even at its busiest, the women section is clean and you can have a nice workout. If the machine you want to use is already taken, you can find something else to do in the meantime. I've been on different days at different times and I never found it " overcrowded ". The girls at the front desk are always all smiles which is good. This is really the best goodlife location I've been to.
Great customer service reps and cleanliness at this location.
Great GoodLife location. GM is fabulous, staff is great and the gym is super clean.
Evasive Reception staff and unhelpful and arrogant support staff. Proof: Lexy Hawkins. She is a support staff and is very succesful in this location by driving away potential customers like me by her arrogant and authoritarian behaviour. A great service to the employer and a nice way to develop business in this new location. All I wanted to know and see was a very basic and simple information like their application form showing their terms before joining. For this, I was humiliated enough by Lexy Hawkins. This is the background for my review.
One of the best from good life and very spacious and double height give you more air circulation and relaxing. All the equipments are updated or new ????????????????
Never really too busy and has a large assortment of equipment. Small women's section but they will move farther south.
The facility is very nice and I like that there are so many squat racks. The dumbbells are all out of order but that's not a big deal. Front desk staff is really friendly.
This was a large GoodLife. Open 24/7. Has all the equipment needed. Clean and well maintained.
This gym is like a second home for me! I enjoy coming here everyday. There are lots of squat racks, free weights and cardio equipment. Staff are very friendly and willing to help with whatever you need.
The manager is really nice and helpful and the gym is really big and clean. Best goodlife I've ever been.
stepping on towels ! what an ugly behavior So here’s the thing .. this is about the people and about the gym ! Guys this is canada and we should be an idol for everyone and specially for foreigners how come u r using the towels which belongs to the gym and when u r done u r stepping on it then cleaning ur shoes ? again goodlife cleanin and washing that & another person usin it and follow the same path that other went through! its a silly and savage behavior! i wanna see some strict rules about who does that!
I love my gym. I mostly work out in the womans section. And they have wifi. Big thumbs up!
This club is fantastic!! It's new, super big, has lots of equipment! The DBs go to 150lbs, they have like 5 racks, and pretty well everything else you could want. Place is always clean and the staff is friendly. It does get packed around peak times but because of the size it doesn't feel like people are on top of eachother!! Solid training facility!
Great setup at the old Futureshop store. But parking is tight for some reason, and the main sign is not illuminated for some reason
Great gym, nice staff -1 star because the hours arent that great
It’s a very big gym and very clean and Staffs are friendly.
Great gym, very spacious, new equipment and lots of it. Sure lots of ppl leave their weights around and don't clean up after themselves but I've seen much worse at other gyms
Amazing gym. Awesome staff, very friendly.
Only complaints are that the hours are not consistent (not always 24 hr) and that it gets super busy during peak times (people park at their parking lot even if they don't go to the gym, thankfully they have a LOT of parking space) Would give 4.5/5 if I could.
What happened to this gym? This place doesn't even deserve a star if it were up to me!!!! I used to love the old gym vibe on the second level with the natural lighting, but wow did things change since my last visit 2 years ago. The rubber floors were covered in chalk and dust and sweat and boy did I find myself in disposable socks when I decided to go shoeless on deadlifts. My socks had hair and booger stains on them, I had work right after so I quickly left to purchase a pair. Thanking my lucky stars Walmart was down the street!!! The gym is old which is understandable, I took my first yoga class here 4 years ago and I never remembered it being this dirty and musty. Maybe Goodlife needs to focus on basics before opening up a gazillion other locations. You just lost me to LA FITNESS on this one.
Great location, awesome staff. Towels always ready. Prices a bit high but that’s not the locations fault!
I like to switch up my GoodLife locations once in a while for variety so I don’t get bored. This location is new and used to be a future shop. 1. It’s very clean and has decent sized locker rooms. 2. Good variety of cardio and weight equipment. 3. The staff are friendly at this location. 4. Parking is ample 5. It’s never super busy considering it’s location and proximity to schools and apartments. It’s really hard to rate a gym really because it’s a place where you have to come everyday to get results. You can’t base you review on your lack of motivation to actually workout.
I love this location! Clean and new! Staff are nice mostly.
I like all the equipment and they keep everything nice. I am on continental shift so open 24 hours is convenient. A little stuffy air inside somtimes.
Great facility with plenty of machines and a huge turf zone.
This my top favourite location of Goodlife to go to, trust me very spacious, a lot more equipment that you don't have to wait for, I don't have any problems with this gym The change room is clean , the cleaners are doing a good job what makes the change room messy are the members who forgets the towels and leaves it everywhere, the vanity where the hairdryers are not wipe most of the times are left but you can't help it when the cleaners come at a certain time, a lot of make-up Staines are left by members and it's very annoying and disgusting to see every time
This location is always a pleasure to workout at. The staff are helpful and courteous. The machines and facilities are great as well. Hopefully they keep up with maintaining this location. Sometimes though, the soap dispenser in the shower stalls are empty which can be problematic. Overall, I definitely recommend this location.
Just working out there tonight. Lots of equipment nice changing, lots of room, roomy locker, hair dryer, and ironing table, plus not alot of people at this time of night (9pm). One star less because almost about 98% of all members I witnessed did not wipe down their machines after use, so if you go there wipe your machine before and after just in case you don't want to touch another person's sweat besides this are towels on the ground, discarded water bottles left at machines and paper towels on the machines and ground.
I do love this gym for its equipment variety and nice employees but have been disappointed in the lack of initiative that they take with the empty cleaning supplies and pre-moistened wet wipes for cleaning the equipment. In a time like this I feel as though there should be people cleaning hourly as well as supplies available at all times. Just a suggestion.
The newest club in Scarborough, replacing the old Kennedy location at Kennedy and Ellesmere. I think I visited the old location two or three times and stopped visiting. This new location is very nice, new clubs are always the best. They have the newest machinery, the spinning room is nice, the studio is a good size. There is even a woman's only section that is well stocked with enough equipment.
Being a member for 5+ years I moved with the gym to Kennedy and Lawrence from Kennedy and ellesmere and everything was great until July 22nd 2019 when a worker named ALAINE stopped me from my workout to tell me it wasn't allowed in that gym.....I will not be returning and will be cancelling my membership and moving to a better gym facility as this has been the worst life experience of a lifetime at a facility that promotes positivity and about the good life.... Don't sign up for this gym as 24/7 its only fake advertising....hours are Monday 5am -12am Tuesday 24hrs Wednesday 24 hrs Thursday 24hrs Friday close at 11 pm Saturday and Sunday 8 am - 8 pm...and you are also racially abused by the staff, which I will be taking up with human right of Canada.
Great Staff, big location, lots of parking
Good variety of equipment and lots of space, but frequently messy. Although it doesn't detract from its usefulness.
Most of the "trainers" have an attitude problem; most of the personal trainers are out of shape, offer unsolicited "advice", and have little-to-no actual workout/fitness/exercise experience - congrats guys, you scored 70% on your multiple-choice test offered up by your employer, so now you're experts, but you're weak and soggy; manager and a couple trainers and counter staff are reasonable and friendly; no one puts their weights away (but that's every gym); lots of members with attitude that need correcting; elitist vibe in the air - this is a gym where people go to be seen wearing their new workout outfits; some people are here to workout and be fit; the music is top 40 pop-R&B-rock garbage that saps your energy; lots of machines and lots of parking if you avoid the 6pm rush; nice stretch area and functional movement area. I will update with the names of the rude and unhelpful staff next time I go.
Good assortment of modern facilities and machines, some I haven't seen at other locations I've been to. Nice Turf zone.
The way everything is position and widely open you can't help but have a few eyes on you or looking straight at other people working out every machine is face towards eachothers workouts, abit awkward tho the set up of the gym could be better. But this new location is clean
Had a great workout and staff were very friendly
Spacious and always friendly staff and other members
Gym was was awesome. Had a great workout in the Turf Zone.
great gym for the price never too overcrowded sue to the new goodlife gyms opening up everywhere
I frequently go to this goodlife fitness. Plenty of space and equipment for use. Decent number of barbell racks, indoor grass area, dumbell area is quite big, and plenty of machine. I was told there also a woman area if you don't feel too confortable working out with the men. I'd recommend going during off peak hours.
Loved the body combat classes on the weekends
Very clean and lots of equipment. I frequent another location which during peak time it is hard to find equipment. This one even though busy does still seem to have equipment available. Not crazy about the staff, maybe I caught them on an off night but the counter staff and the trainers all group together and socialize. Had to speak to someone and waited forever, felt like I was interrupting them when they had to speak to me.
My favorite Goodlife in Scarborough. They focus more on the free-weights rather than occupying over half the gym with cardio-equipment.
Very expensive now $60 /month and nothing difference to fit4less.
Visited this gym to have my membership transferred from Durham Region. I have been a member for years and am being charged a higher rate than brand new members. If I want to transfer gyms I was told I must pay initiation fees even though there is no cancellation. Cannot seem to reach any decision makers or discuss this cellphone company-like contract with anyone. Very greasy tactic.
Awesome Gym awesome staff and best of all it’s 24 hours :)
This location will be moving from its current location (Ellesmere) in the next few months further south to Lawrence (according to staff) This is one of the early gyms Goodlife acquired before it took over Extreme, Ballys and other small operations and it looks like it. The weight room is always too cold or hot, it's a weight room and can be intimidating but don't be. Its the last no non-sense weight room you will find in a chain gym and will be gone when this location moves. The cardio/ciruit machines are downstairs and it can get a little crowded. There is a women's only section (that used to be a pool decades ago) for some separation. The washrooms/change rooms are OK, you wont be wow'd. There's a reasonable sized room for the classes, although it can get packed to capacity for things like body pump during the afternoon rush and there are a couple tanning booths if that is your thing. Its a good gym, with an old school feel. The parking lot is horrible and dark, the general location is horrible (traffic and getting in an out of the parking lot). The area isn't what I'd consider "safe" (although this doesn't affect my rating of the gym, nor is it their fault, its important to be aware - no valuables in the lockers or visible in your car). I prefer this style of gym. It isn't for everyone and it doesn't "show" well like the Vic park location. But it has everything you need and dumbells you will likely never be able to lift and usually an atmosphere of people "here to lift".
Advertised as 24 hours, it is only really open 24 hours 3 days a week and closes at 8pm Saturday and Sunday which they do not mention during the sign up process. Wifi sucks, very bad reception. The TVs are very small. The women’s section is very small as well with 2 treadmills and some random machines; fills up very quickly.
Favorite gym. Low key great weight room. RIP to new facility at Lawrence.
The Pros: - Big facility, high ceilings, well lit and lots of space. It used to be in a future shop. Also lots of parking. - Good staff - Clean The cons: - People leave their weights or put them away in the wrong slots (so you end up having to look for weights or sort through the plates to get to the ones you want when they are all stacked away) - What really bothers me is in the winter, some people dont take off their boots and leave a pool of water from the entrance to the change rooms, which for people like me who remove their shoes is frustrating to walk in. Overall the issues with this club is less because of the staff but more because of the ppl who go there. I would suggest for the staff to try a little harder to enforce this (having people put their weights away and have people take off their snowy boots in the nice spacious designated boots area).
Staff is great but it's in a basement so it's not easy to use your phone for music and the massage chairs always turn off in the middle of using them. Thankfully they will be moving to a new location, hopefully soon.
Great experience at this gym. All equipment is very new and in great condition. Excellent and very professional customer service from Gordon!!! Highly recommend to visit this location for your next workout.
Definitely one of the better gyms in Scarborough.
This place is one of my favorite goodlife gyms. It is super clean and spacious. There are enough machines and free weights. Oh ya, staff are really welcoming and friendly.
Very quiet and dark. 2 floors. Like walking into a hotel or condo gym. Old but well maintained with friendly staff. Feels like home here
The atmosphere is "very good". "Clean" environment. Tenants greet you as you enter, their not pushy, if you need help their always there to give a hand. And the good thing so far is people are "not crowded", no waiting time for equipments. ???????????????????????? Three thumbs up for this gym. I highly recommend it.
Very dirty and musty. Men's change room also smells like crap. New management and staff every two months.
A good gym, reasonable monthly fees, dumbells upto 150 lbs. Editing my review. The general manager Jeff was very helpful. He is a gem of a person, resolved my issue instantly. I would say he knows what he is doing and also he is very polite and helpful. Thanks Jeff.
Its a good gym. I don't like the fact that good life claims that is 24 hours and if you come Saturday and Sunday, surprise at 9 pm they are closed. Goodlife needs to inform members about this with a appropriate sign. When talking to a personal trainer he didn't know hours of operation. That's a bit disappointing. There is a huge opportunity to work on customer service skills.
Clean but it gets super busy now since everyone knows about this new location ????
Spacious with very high ceiling. It won't be pack even for 5PM. The facility is relatively new.
