Great place to get in there and get the work done. Super accommodating during the Covid-19 pandemic, replaced my card and made double sure that my card would work so I had access 24 hours a day. They have little contests, tons of amenities and lots of programs to join. They certainly want to see their members succeed and it feels like a tight community. Been going back after a hiatus and I'm sorry I took the time off. Glad to be apart of this gym!! Thanks guys for rocking it!

The Health Club has so much to offer! From the variety of machines, squash courts, massages, steam rooms, etc... The owners are also both friendly and easygoing people, a pleasure to be supporting them. Overall an excellent place!!

Their management is pretty bad. When I signed up they entered my entered my info wrong. So I had to call a different company in order to actual get the membership. They usually only have one person working there and half the time they're on the floor training somebody. When I canceled my membership, I gave the paperwork and they said everything was good, but they continued to charge me. The equipment and facility are fine, however the roof leaks all the time. If you just want a place to workout, it's fine, but be prepared to have a hassle whenever doing anything with your membership.

The staff is awesome they make you feel like a family plus they know what they are doing! I have been going since mid January and am now a size 2-4 instead of 6-8!! Jackie has been my trainer and it does make a huge difference to be trained so you know what areas to target. Glen also has shown me a program and he too is a great guy. Thanks to you all for my new lifestyle change. Feeling awesome.

Incredibly disappointed by the lack of customer service by the staff. They hide behind "I can't really comment about that, it's the owners that deal with it" and won't deal directly with the paying customer when there is an issue. When asked to speak with someone "in charge" you get the round around. The staff lacks integrity and up holding their word. Don't spend your money here.

October 2017. Really great staff and small gym atmosphere. Plus they have a hot tub and steam room at the gold level. Can be a bit pricy but you do pay for what you get. As long as you go to the gym regularly it will most likely be worth it. They also have protein shakes and supplies you can purchase as well as a tanning section and karate classes. Update September 2018 I had a great experience with the health club staff till I decided that I wanted to leave. I had my account frozen and wanted to get massages n place of unused training. They never got back to me till after a year was up. When I brought my booklet in they took it and said it was under review. It has been under review for almost a month now. I asked to have my account to be unfrozen as I wanted to end my contract sooner and it has still not been dealt with. I have called and come into the facility and I get brushed off. I have been trying for over two weeks now. If you decide to go here understand that they will be great till you decide to leave. Then they don't care one bit about you or helping you.

Reasonably equipped gym with 24 hour access. The staff is friendly and helpful. Gym is unstaffed in the late evening and overnight. Membership fee is more expensive than others in St. Thomas but this is the only 24 hour Gym.

This business is an absolute SCAM! I don't even know where to start. I first came to the gym because a friend gave me a coupon for a free week to try the gym out. The first time I showed up and tried to use it they took the coupon and acted like it never existed, sitting me down to join the gym. That should have made me run and never look back but foolishly I wanted to support this small busines and signed up. Things went well for a few months until covid hit and they began taking double payments occasionally and even increased their prices despite not having a new draft of a contract. After this I tried to freeze my account to stop payments under the understanding that covid was probably messing with things. Despite the freeze on my account they continued to take payments and began to take double payments more frequently. After this I went in to cancel my membership and they told me I need to send a letter by mail to cancel the membership as if that makes any sense. I sent the letter with tracking and I know they received it yet months later they claim to not have recieved the letter and continue to take payments. Even if they do decide letter reached them they still say they will take two more payments after they receive the letter. At this point I just made a new bank account and transferred my money over. This has been my experience with the business, it is an absolute SCAM totally shady and I cannot emphasis enough to avoid this place like the plague... everything will be fine until you try to stop your membership even if your year is up. There is no reason to go here as almost every other gym in St Thomas offers more for Less. Edit: I've just now noticed the unprofessionalism in which the owner addresses negative reviews. Just to beat them to the punch; real Schmidt is not the name I registered under, don't undercut my complaints with manipulation.

Good gym 24/7 availabilty, spacious. Opting for the executive member gets you a dedicated locker and a much less busy locker room. I would still be a member but had to move more than an hour away for work. Not many gyms have quite as good space/member ratio that ive been to. I like to stick to a routine and a lack of machines/benches can annoy me. Very rare here. Glen is a good guy to deal with

Great gym. Lots of parking. Very large space which is nice to prevent over crowding. A large variety of equipment. Nice reception and seating area. Would like to see an area with some bumper plates for some Olympic style lifting. Highly recommend getting a membership here.

Their unprofessional replies to reviews or concerns is indicative of how they would treat any client. I'll go elsewhere and I encourage others to do so as well, read their negative reviews and how they respond to customers.

The club is always clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. I feel safe going to the gym as the club is following all the rules of COVID. There is a lot of equipment and it is well spaced out. Members are friendly and courteous and wear their masks where they are needed. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in joining a gym.

Had a membership for more than 20 years. Starting at the small gym on 5th ave then silver st and lastly Burwell rd. Starting un 2019 the steam room sauna and whirlpool for which i paid premium dues for were frequently out of service. When covid restrictions were put in place the whirlpool sauna and steam were shut down completely. I questioned why I was paying $58 /month for features not available to me anymore and was dismissed Glenn. I personally gave Glenn my written cancelation letter yet am still being harassed by ABC financial - the company that collects dues for them.St Thomas health club is unable to provide the services they have been billing me for the last 2 years, they are in breach of contract.

This gym made me feel worse about myself not better!!!! Beware. No customer service. The manager is whoever is working that day, and the “owners” don’t get involved??! The person I spoke to about cancelling my membership told me I would be “lucky” if they let me out of the contract. (READ THE FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU JOIN) I used the gym twice. Did not ask or care why I needed to quit. This gym is about the money NOT the people. Now I am stuck with a membership I cannot use, and can’t afford to go elsewhere while paying this one. I have been a member for 30 days and it has cost me $200!!!

I recently joined but I'm happy with my experience to date. The clients seam to be respectful of each other. Lots of space between machines. I' m still enjoying my time here. Glen is always friendly and helpful. It's cleaned regularly. No line ups for the equipment. Respectful clients. A comfortable place to work out.

I joined the St. Thomas Health Club September 4, 2013. My goals were simple. Loose 50 lbs and strengthen my knees and back and regain my energy. I always thought I ate healthy and listened to the nutrition counselling with a great deal of doubt and thought hey what could it hurt. I diligently recorded all my meals for a week and realized how unbalanced my eating habits were. With determination I followed the nutrition instructions and kept track of all my meals. I was coached through exercises once a week, did cardio the second day, and ran through the weight training the 3rd day on my own. Every week for the past nine months I kept to the schedule and eating habits with a few slips along the way. Glenn has been right there to coach me through and to give me encouragement. I can now say I have lost 20 lbs and over 7 inches in total. I feel healthier. I have more energy. My knees do not ache. I can now walk down to the beach and back without stopping. I would recommend the St. Thomas Health Club to anyone who is struggling to keep fit and for those who are fit and want somewhere friendly, clean, and professional to work out! Thank you to the team for your support throughout the past nine months. I look forward to successfully reaching my goals and continuing thereafter to be fit and healthy at the St. Thomas Health Club .

VERY HOSTILE IF THEY DISAGREE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE terrible place to deal with or have anything to do with i hadnt even signed up for my membership yet and i was already pushed aside and told to wait as i was signing up because they knew i was going to and someone else was on the fence so they focused on them and when i opted for the freeze they forgot about it and messed it up then weeks later fixed it then forgot a whole month of my freeze and told me the payment was once a month of 7.50 and turns out its twice a month ... and also just so everyone knows THERE FEES AT THE BEGINNING ACTUALLY HAVE YOU PAY AN EXTRA MONTH I FIGURED THIS OUT AND GOT MY MONEY BACK BUT EVERYONE ELSE WHO PAYS FOR A YEAR ACTUALLY PAY FOR 13 MONTHS WITH OUT KNOWING IT!!!!!! DO THE MATH PEOPLE

First I will give credit where it’s due.. I was always welcomed and greeted upon entering the facility, great equipment, clean gym, good atmosphere never overly busy and 24/7 access is great. Secondly customer service not so much. I recently moved to the area for work and will be living here only for 1 year max before being transferred out. I signed up just before the vaccine passport mandates, so I’m stuck on a 1 year contract and unable to cancel, they were able to put it on “freeze” which is not really a freeze just a lower bi week payment. If it were a real freeze(no payment’s) until I can return.. I would be satisfied. No where in the contract states anything regarding mandates, I understand this is government mandated but a business that really cares about their name and customers would make an exception regarding this by allowing members to cancel or having the option of a $0 payment freeze until said member can return . Thirdly even if I did have a vaccine passport, I am unable to workout for 12 weeks due to an injury and still they were unable to accommodate me in anyway. So at the end of they day I am stuck paying a “freeze” just a lower biweekly payment along with “maintenance” fees all while I am unable to use the facility. I hate to leave such a bad review but the customer service on this issue is just terrible and it would be an easy fix on their part, and make a better name for the business. I just can’t recommend this gym after my experience to my fellow peers and colleagues. - Andrew

Terrible. Used to go here, loved the building and equipment, and Most staff was really great. However, Management non existent, when I moved away they refused to cancel my membership. Got charged membership fees for 7 months after even though I did cancellation paperwork countless times. Have heard this from others too, be careful! I had to resort to calling continuously and showing up all the time for ANYTHING to happen. Could be a great gym if it weren't for no one in charge ever being available

I’m a brand new member (like as of October) and I read some pretty sketchy reviews but decided to give it a shot. Sadly those reviews have come to be true in the sense that this gym is money hungry. They told me I would get a refund for money taken out during the lockdown, but it’s been over a month and I still have not received one. Now when I try and email them it says their email is disabled. When you go on their website it is very difficult to find an alternative email to contact them. Not a great business structure they have here. They are all about the money here and have no communication structure. Not a great start. It’s also suepr sketchy that they have “do not call for prices” on their website (they want you to go in). As a first time customer that was extremely weird to me and should be something that is offered on their website. Especially during covid times when you’re trying to avoid going into places. It’s just another ploy to make money. They have a base membership of like $20 bi-weekly or something like that but it doesn’t come with the 24/7 access. I asked when I will be able to access the building if I don’t purchase the one with 24/7 access (I think like $25 bi-weekly) and he said between 8-4 Monday-Thursday and only like 3 hours on Friday and Saturday and not at all on Sunday. This is ridiculous. I will be getting rid of my membership as soon as the one year is up and will be contacting a lawyer to look over the contact to find any loopholes to get out earlier.

I've been a member at that St Thomas Health Club for just over a year. The large facility, equipment and friendly staff make for an excellent experience. Their online tool makes it easy to book a workout (because of C19 limitations).

Unprofessional. Cheapskates who fix holes in the wall by putting up a poster. Leaky roof that will drop water on you/the equipment/the space making for an uncomfortable and unsafe workout environment. Ridiculously overpriced and very rude/unreasonable staff who steal and make administration incredibly frustrating and economically detrimental. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Worst customer service. Went in looking for help with an email I was sent. The staff were aggressive not helpful at all. If you want to talk to "accounts" well fill out a paper request. I asked for a name of someone in accounts or have them call for me - oh we have no names or way to call them. Then all of a sudden the woman brings my paperwork that was supposedly "with accounts" and could only be accessed by a written request. They hide behind this "accounts" department. Extremely shady people they altered my "contract" after I signed it and now I am stuck because of all their hidden terms and agreement. I will make sure I share my story with as many people I can. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. ALSO apparently any documents you sign there you should ask for a copy - because they don't believe in giving copies of contracts out or even sending a scanned document by email.

This place rocks! Its clean and everyone is friendly. Its not one of those snobby gyms u wear whatever you want and no one judges. Any age has its own ladies gym if you dont wanna workout infront of guys. Tracy is the owner and an amazing masuse. I had tissue issues with my legs and was barely walking and within a few massages she had me back to normal! Glen and her always make you feel welcome! Cant say enough good about this place! Been coming here for 6 years and its awesome

I REALLY enjoy this gym except for one part of it... The facility is big, open and clean. It has lots of machines and weights and a good little gym for basketball, badminton, etc. It has a sauna and hot tub and my favorite part; two squash courts. The squash courts are really the only reason I continue to go to the gym, unfortunately this is the only gym in St Thomas that has courts. The ONE problem with the gym is the staff. In my opinion some people have no people skills and are better suited to 'behind the scenes' jobs. If you have an issue or need to talk to someone you might as well talk to a wall because there is just no reasoning. It would be nice to have someone at the front counter who would at least listen to your concern and try to help rather than talk over you and recite the rules over and over. Please hire some new staff to run the counter! I wish I could recommend the gym but after the initial bubbly tour and sales pitch the customer service completely disappears. Rather than feeling like a member or part of the club you end up feeling like your presence there is only tolerated because you pay them money so they have to make it seem like they want you there.
