Great service and very friendly staff. My coach Daniel Alvarenga is very friendly and so professional. My goal to get a personal trainer was to go to the next level after many years of working out alone or in a group. Daniel motivate me by pushing my limit but also check my position if I do it correctly and teach me the best way to do the specific workout especially weight lifting. I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

I use to be a member at klub athletic which was a great gym. All of a sudden one day I go to the gym and sign on the door says gym is closed. Opening of world gym in 30 days. Meanwhile we lose our money. I show up at new world gym thinking maybe members of old would get some kind of discount. Nope Customer service horrible.I ask them can I get a 1 day free pass to try new gym and they answer $23 for a day pass. ??? Every gym downtown offers at least a 1 day free pass. I ask them about the fees Sign up fee like $50 plus Option 1 $29 access to gym and boring classes Option 2 $70 access to everything no in between Meanwhile they have an ad looking to hire a manager. WORST GYM EXPERIENCE EVER !!!!

Luv this gym, nice ppl in the reception very Friendly. The atmospheres in this gym give you more motivation to be in the mood, despite the hard time to find parking . Only one comment ; the dry sauna is always un tolerable, always super hot you feel ur skin burning, and the music is super loud in changing room, if you want rest in sauna for 10-15 mn y can’t focus on that .

When I had a concerned to address with David the manager, he was receptive and looked for the best outcome. David cares about the members, their security, and safety. His team at the front desk are knowledgeable, will welcome and greet you when you walk in with their best smile! The quality of the personal coaching at this gym is beyond what to expect from a gym. I highly recommend my strength coach, Daniel Alvarenga. He genuinely cares for each one of his clients. His expertise on his résumé and his solid hands-on experience makes him one of the tops strength trainers in Montreal. Having owned and managed a gym for 10 years and competed as a bodybuilder and weightlifter for five years, the gym has to be right and my coach highly competent. The gym is nice since the new renovations however the locker room cleanliness has been an issue ever since the gym has been open. Never any soap in the showers and sometimes the water does not work so you can't even take showers (no notification before hand on if the showers don't work), the big lockers are always locked but open (nobody's stuff inside and door open but the lock is locked) Also not sure if it is illegal or not but I find it really disgusting to have cameras inside the locker room where people are changing( they just installed them without any notice mentioned beforehand) I was told they would charge me for the month of July when the gym has been closed July 1-23rd. When I asked to get the managers email to speak about this I was notified that it would be "easier for the manager if I just came in to see him" I though the client should always be first and I asked for his email or number to contact him which I never received. I also found it a bit crazy to have to pay a new registration fee again after being a member of klub athletic. Nobody re racks the weights so it's a bit of a mess always. I'm giving it one star for the locker room stuff.

First time this morning - clean gym, all the equipment you need and then some, covid precautions followed well, and good extra services. With the extra yearly fees and initial fees, it comes out to $29.11 per month for 12 months, for the VIP membership (with group classes, pool & sauna). Do note the "unlimited guests access" does not apply to Griffintown location. Lots of power racks & cardio machines!

Very unprofessional...my wife signed on 4 family members ...with the understanding there was a buddy pass...that later changed....then the hours changed....the acting manager was very rude and not professional...gym iyself was a mess...with free weights all over...no bench press ...no space...and staff and trainers very rude. Except for one amazing guy at On saturday and sunday night! He is a super star! Need to get better trained staff....better organisation...and honor peoples contract.

I used to love going there, it was like my second home, now I'm barely there. Employees are poorly trained, management wise is very bad, the sales director (Irene if I remember well) is very rude. She made me want to never go back there or which ever location she is present. Moreover, she doesn't care about members' experience. The entrance and the whole gym stinks. There's only a few lockers available because the majority is locked open and they're dirty. I rather drive all the way to Brossard's location than to go to Griffintown's.

ABUSIVE and PREDATORY Billing Practices, TERRIBLE Customer Service. DON'T get a membership at this gym! (Had to put 1 Star, but 0 is much more appropriate) I signed up for a membership on March 14, had to pay $92.23 on the spot. The next day, the government closed gyms for Covid. I made several requests by phone and email (in English and French) to cancel the membership and be reimbursed since they closed and I was never able to make use of their services. NOBODY contacted me from the gym. On July 15, because they've reopened they charged me another $24.17?! Finally, I got a hold of someone at the front desk and spoke to a Manager named Joseph who also, DID NOT call me back after I explained my situation. Next, I had to physically go there, only to find out Managers leave at 3pm. I called back again the next day and was lucky enough to catch him and the only solutions he could offer was to transfer my "membership" to someone and they would assume future payments, or pay $150 plus tax to get out. Given there is literally a global pandemic which has led to our Provincial governments to require people to wear masks in public areas, accepting their service puts my health at risk. I explained all of this to them (when they actually managed to pick up the phone) and this is the best they could do. I will be pursuing remedies under the Consumer Protection Act because, being reasonable just isn't something they do there. Bottom line: I've received better customer service and understanding from a $2 transaction for a medium coffee at Tim Hortons than I have from this gym and they're taken about $116 of my money, and yes I have not yet used the gym or been given an access card. GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

SCAM ALERT! Careful getting a membership here. They sell memberships based on specific perks and then take them away after you sign up. I signed up a month ago based on a feature that 3 different sales people sold me on: bring a guest any time as often as you like with your annual membership. Weeks later when I tried to bring a guest, they told me this feature was cancelled. I asked them WHEN it was cancelled and the "Customer Service Rep" at the counter said "just a week ago". I asked her why didn't they send out an announcement about this. She then said that they did - that they sent an email out a month before it was cancelled. Interesting...the reason I never got this email was because it went out 3 days before I signed up!! This means that the sales people who sold me my membership boasting that I could bring a guest whenever I wanted knew very well that this feature was no longer available. I understand memberships change throughout the year, but how you handle the situation is what sets apart the real businesses from those that are a complete joke. The "Client Service Rep" at the counter refused to let my guest in after breaking this news saying she is incapable of accommodating. It is unfortunate that Head Office made such a big change and never gave front desk a way to manage the situation. Maybe if she had said "please join us today but know that next time it won't be available" or "I'm sorry about the inconvenience here is a month pass to apologize for misrepresenting the offer when you signed up" or even maybe even taking this as a chance to up-sell with a discounted membership for my guest. NOTHING. Just complete ignorance, saying sorry I can't do anything. At the same time, she let 2 different people in without asking to see their membership, swiping their fob or checking to see if they are in the system. She just let them in. Ridiculous. Coincidently, another member was dealing with the same complaint at the same time. She did not help them either. When I asked them if they received an email, they said nothing was sent. When we asked to speak to a manager the "Customer Service Rep" was very evasive. First she said the manager isn't in today but that I should give her my number and the manager will call me. Moments later it sounded as if she was on the phone with the manager who refused to speak with me and told her to tell me these are the rules and that's that. No apology, nothing. When I asked again exactly when the manager would be there, she changed her story and said there actually isn't a manager at this gym and that someone in charge comes around once in a while, but they never know when. She then proceeded to say that the only way to deal with this is to call customer service at head office. But refused to give us the number. So, World Gym... basically we can come in and sign a contract with you in person, but when you don't keep up your side of the deal, there is no one to talk to there? It seems like World Gym is the exact same scam as Klub Athletik.

I am having the hardest time trying to cancel a membership contract. They are telling me there is a $150 fee for any person who wants to cancel after the first 30 days of signing up your contract. 1) It is not written anywhere on the contract. 2) article 2129 of Civil Code of Quebec stipulates that if you have paid for the services provided -which i did- they cant charge you anything else unless they can prove that your cancellation constitute A "damage" to their gym. Not even mentioning that it is Impossible to reach out to any manager who is NEVER there. (Pretty sure I am being lied to). They cancel some classes without even telling you in advance. Very disappointing to treat customer like this. Just don't subscribe to a membership.

Great spot for late night or early morning training. Staff is nice facilities are clean, but unfortunately since the pandemic, they have closed off all the water fountains, i assume to lower the risk of transfering covid, but somehow it makes me wonder how we can keep hydrated during workouts. Sauna is back open and swimming pool has limited hours. Every second bike is closed off as the rules of social distancing are in effect. Glad to finally be back after such a long hiatus.

I started going to the gym 2 month ago and also taking class with Coach Mirza. The private classes are really great because you have a room just for you and the class with great equipment. Mirza is really nice and fun, motivates you, pushes you but also check your position, back and everything. After 2 months i already see I'm in a great shape with more strenght and confidence. Worth the price ! but be warned if you arrive late you'll have to do 10 burpees !

The gym has been recently renovated, with tons of nice upgrades. There is still a lot of nice equipments, whether you wanna do cardio or weights. Classes are also diverse and are challenging. Plus, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Finally, lockers are always very clean.

Very much appreciated and a great demonstration of how seriously the gym is taking their safety protocols for their members!

I signed up here recently and while the gym is still under construction, I can say that the current facilities are great. There are plenty of varied weight and cardio machines and lots of free weights, there's an area to stretch and the change rooms are spacious. Everything is kept very clean and the people who work there are all lovely.

I signed up to this gym 5 weeks ago during a special promotional period where they waived the sign-up fee. In this period, where they should have charged me 2 of the $24.13 monthly membership fees, they have already charged me $129.87 in 4 separate transactions. I finally got the time to call them today, and the interaction went exactly as follows. I first spoke to a very nice associate who I assume was working the front desk. I told her my name and the situation, and she confirmed that she did in fact see the discrepancy and read out the dates and the amounts that were charged to me totaling $129.87. She apologized and said that she would just transfer me to her supervisor to straighten things out. The supervisor got on the phone, and the nature of the interaction changed. She told me that they had only charged me twice, and for the correct amounts, per her records, and that I would have to provide proof of overcharging for them to do anything. I told her that the person who I had just spoken to had said something else and had read out a number of different charges with dates that matched mine, so they could obviously see it on their end. She told me that the associate I had spoken to must have made a mistake. I asked her if she thinks the associate invented the information that she had just read to me, and she said that she must have been mistaken. The supervisor was very rude throughout this interaction in my opinion, and kept repeating that it was up to me to prove that I had been overcharged, and that their records showed that everything was exactly as it should be. When I asked her if she expected me to show a screenshot of my private banking information, she said yes she would need to see it. I am away from the province for 2 months, and apparently any further investigation on their end is out of question, and I am expected to wait until I come back . Apparently, I'm also expected to show sensitive private information, or waste my time printing out my credit card statement and redacting everything except for the charges in question in order to receive a refund after being overcharged by over 3 months' worth of fees in a 5 week period. Be careful when joining this gym, they may overcharge you, and then act rudely and ask you to prove it instead of looking into it on their end. Forget receiving even a shred of the empathy you'd expect out of a company that overcharged you. I would suggest to anyone that really wants to join this gym to sign up with their credit card so that they can at least dispute the eventual extra charges they're going to receive. Absolutely awful customer service from the supervisor.

Great quality and variety of equipment, having a calisthenic/crossfit section open for individual training would however be great. Being more responsive to customer questions about memberships and other inquiries would be a great add-on... 10/10 mention to Personal trainer Jacky who has been dedicated to Griffintown customers for years through different ownerships. She is the reason I stayed as a world gym customer... Very approchable and dedicated to help you reach your goals no matter where you start from or what they are. Try her group classes as well, good time investment and you should be sore the next day.

I don’t understand people’s reviews, in my opinion: 1- Masks are enforces at ALL TIME in this gym except when your at your station (they even had people on the floor in April and now telling you to put it on) 2- Front desk is slow but they're new because to covid, so that’s understandable. 3- New manager is DEFINITELY better than the last one. 4- Gym is fully equipped and perfectly located on Wellington

All around a pretty good gym at a very good price. One thing I did not appreciate was the way the manager spoke to me yesterday when I was trying to bring in a guest, I was quite embarrassed. Made me feel like i was trying to sneak in a potential future member (no longer a potential member after this incident) without them noticing. The manager went on to say pretty loudly that the member has to be with a guest as they sign in (I was only a few meters away). Also, made me go to the locker room mid workout and get my card when she could have just searched my name in the system. The fact that i had a rough day didn't help, I was literally there to relieve stress when all I got was a stressful incident. Finally, not impressed with the way the manager spoke to her staff member in front of everyone. I was embarrassed for the staff member. Based on this experience, management needs to improve drastically.

I’ve been training with Mirza at world gym griffin town for two years now and I cannot be happier !!! He has transformed my body and strength to another level. I was not able to perform one pull up prior to starting and now I am able to hit 10 reps! This is just one of the many examples where his patience to teaching the proper techniques and his commitment to push me through have paid off in many ways. He is also super transparent which is needed so I can remain open minded and grounded. I’ve trained with many trainers at other gyms in the past and no one has come close to helping me getting the results that I need. I live 40 minutes away and come all the way downtown simply to continue with Mirza ! Highly recommend him as his approach to coaching is the real deal !!!!
