this gym was a great place to start my fitness journey, however it has quickly and dangerously gone down hill.
the owner got too big too fast and let it get to her head, and now you can tell the gym is more about making money and being successful than about the wellbeing of the clients.
i was a client here for a long time and i have known readiness and its trainers since back when it was in a small studio a few blocks from where it is now. if it were then, i would give it 5 stars. not anymore.
the instructors are highly untrained, usually only taking weekend classes to get certified (ie. they are not certified personal trainers or even knowledgeable about the fitness industry). they do not fix poor form, and i know many former clients who had to seek professional help (chiropractor, physio, acupuncture, etc) to fix injuries they acquired while attending readiness. they have no formal training or education on health and fitness; they do not know why they're doing what they're doing (important principles, physiology of exercise, etc), they are simply former clients.
if you want to spend money on classes, buy a gym membership with certified personal trainers or find a private personal trainer. they are the same price (or even less expensive) and they have an education.
The only reason i can allow a single star is because of one particular trainer, Kim. Although she doesn't have a degree, she at least took the time to know the names of targeted muscles, how to engage them and proper form/safety. she is also enthusiastic and encourages her clients to work to their full potential, all while making sure they are not working too far past their limitations. She is the sole light in the dark hole readiness has dug itself into.
this gym needs major reconstruction, starting with the trainers. i wouldn't recommend this gym until they find properly certified instructors.
