Clean facility, equipments are brand new, very nice staff and classes are great. If you decide to take a class, make sure to take Ingrid's Zumba class on Wednesday's. I am so happy that I transitoned from my crossfit gym to here, it's much cheaper and I have all the equipments I need for a good workout. If you're a crossfit person, there's space here to do your routines. I recommend this place highly.

This place is gross. Nothing is ever stocked. Want us to wipe down machines? A paper towel dispenser with paper towels in it would be awesome. The bathrooms are frequently disgusting, no idea what adults do this to a bathroom and walk away, but theres rarely soap or toilet paper. This place is a joke. The only saving grace is the 10 dollar price tag

In the last two months the gym has become filthy. Never any spray to clean the equipment which is a health hazard due to mersa and other diseases. Bathrooms are trashed and all the windows in the entrance are smeared with handprints like a preschool.

Really enjoy this gym! Was a Planet Fitness member, but I was becoming more frustrated with the "down hill" direction and way, way too many people, and what seemed like constant new management, etc. My neighbor said "I love Crunch Fitness, try it!" So I drove right over, Tammy at the front counter was great, she showed me all around, there was no pressure. I was impressed with all of the quality equipment and the cleanliness, so I joined immediately and am glad I did. Everyone is super friendly, and Maria works hard keeping this place clean. I've also noticed that the members are friendly and respectful, too. So - so far so good!

When the gym first opened it was very clean equipment were all working fine . Now there's sweaty paper towels in the cup holders that stay there all day long few machines been out of order for quite a while now. As I workout I can feel that something doesn't feel right so I touched the bars where the weights slide up and down and they are bone dry. Lack of maintenance on machines causing it to not work proper.

I asked about the reviews and they said they had just gotten all new management that was working hard to keep the place clean and the equipment in top shape.

This gym used to be great, now there is consistently a wait at the front desk because the staff are either texting, chatting with their co-workers or friends, blatantly ignoring customers, or so confused by the computer system that it takes 5-10 minutes to check in and get a ticket for a class. Further, their policy for attending the classes is inconsistent as they let people in 10-15 minutes after they start but then if there is a problem with their printers they explain “oh we can’t print a ticket because the class is full or your too late”. Rather than troubleshooting the real issue they punish their customers. I’ve experienced this first hand twice this week, on one occasion the front test attendee was chatting with friend and after 3 minutes of trying to print me a class ticket he said I was too late to attend - of course he failed to take responsibility for the additional 3 minutes he wasted trying to print when I was already there waiting- and on a second occasion I arrived 5 minutes early just to be told the class was full- there were 6 people there, the instructor had to delay starting the class to explain this to the front desk-. The staff is unprofessional which is unfortunate because the class instructors are great, but be prepared to show up 15-20 minutes early if you want a chance at being let in, even if the class is empty.

Worst experience with crunch. staff don't know their own policies. Due to their internal miscommunication and delay, they didn't canceled my PT subscription on time and their system charge $185 additionally. When i talked to them then they refused to give me money back. Also, manager does not have courtesy to check why it happened. Also, I did send an email multiple time to cancel my subscription but no reply. BE careful from hidden polices and additional charges

Lots of equipment is broken with no fix date in sight. Only 1 working stairmaster. 4 broken ellipticals. Rowing machines are rusted out and footstraps are broken. Machines are dirty. Talked to management and got nothing. Checking months back in reviews and people got the same.

I had scheduled a day pass for Crunch online and the manager called me and had arranged a day for me to go in and get a tour of the gym. That day arrives, I approach the front desk on a Saturday morning around 11am and the two women at the front desk were not thrilled to hear that they had to step away from the desk for a few minutes to give a tour. The two women were complaining to one another in front of me about not wanting to give me a tour or sign me up. I would also like to mention that it was not busy. Therefore, I don’t understand why giving a potential customer a tour is so challenging to do so. At that point, I no longer wanted a tour or give them my money. In short, the staff is unwelcoming and I would never sign up for this location based on this experience.

It was good to be back at Crunch after the year of chaos. The vibe at the gym is lively. The team and trainers are very supportive and motivating—a special mention for coach Kevin. He is always keeping me on edge without even me realizing it. Working out is hard. With him around, I know I am not going to die, and that's enough to keep going. On a minor note, a few machines especially the steppers and the rowers needs to be fixed. Just a smaller concern and that's about it.

I moved to the Malden/Medford area from NY in mid March of 2018 and needed to find a gym. There were a few other choices in the area including Planet Fitness and Boston Sports Club. Crunch had a free day pass to try out the gym and as soon as I went I knew I had to join. The club itself is pretty big with 2 fitness class rooms including spinning and a multipurpose room. There are a large array of cardio machines and weight machines. What really sold me on Crunch was the free weight section and mini turf where there is a sled as well as foam rollers and mats. The only downfall is that after work Mon-Thurs it gets very busy so it’s better to go during the day if possible or in the mornings.

my complaint is in regards to the unprofessionalism of the General Manager Renee Donovan. On November 23 around 6pm EST time I was training at the crunch fitness located at 295 Middlesex Ave, Medford, Ma 02155 when the incident occurred. I was training in the gym doing deadlifts when the General Manager Renee Donovan approached me and asked me not to use chalk in the gym because it was not allowed and was giving me a warning which I agreed to and I understood. After this encounter she approached me 5 minutes later in a different part Of the gym handing me a broomstick and a dust pan and said these words to me “ You’re gonna go clean that up”. She had no reason or right to behave this way she had already given me a warning that I accepted and then she decided to escalate the situation further in a very immature and unprofessional manner. Her actions were disgusting, unprofessional, immature, and abusing of her position. I felt very offended when she did this she has no right to try to humiliate me in this manner I truly felt discriminated and degraded I want to get in contact with her superior or superiors because they should not have a General manager who behaves this way in charge of their gym.

Very unorganized!!! I am very disappointed with their service! I was practicing with a personal trainer but their trainers don’t stay! I had to switch between 4 trainers within 10 sessions unfortunately! Very difficult and tricky cancellation! Beware if you get one of the premium memberships, you can not cancel anytime you wish (they say you can cancel anytime to sign you as a member)

Two stars because the place has everything that it needs. However if you’re a regular 9-5 job person, this isn’t the place for you. After 4pm and it’s crowded beyond belief, you won’t get a piece of equipment when you need it. In the morning, it’s a roll of the dice if they open on time. Honestly this place in only good for people with off schedules when you can go in the middle of the day.

To enroll you the are very kind but if you want to cancel the membership they keep charging you and asking to go in person to cancel. How many times do you have to go in person before Crunch Fitness Medford stop charging you? Or better, how many times does the contract say you have to ask to stop being charged? Because that is the excuse the manager gave me when I called the last time "the contract says you have to come in person to cancel" and yet the manager doesn't have the courtesy of meeting with you when you go to talk to him. Beyond horrible customer service. I am not one to give reviews but this calls for it. I relocated and had to cancel my membership here. I went into the brunch, completed the needed paperwork and spoke with the manager face to face to deactivate my account. Great! Easy enough right? Well, it's been hell. The manager who had helped me cancel the account never processed the request and ended up getting "fired" and replaced with a new manager. First charge $100.00 dollars because the cancellation was at the time of my renewal. I emailed the manager and called many many times to receive the same answer " he's unavailable". I was finally able to get a hold of him through email and after going over the whole issue again. He says no problem we will cancel the account. GREAT could this be? OF COURSE not!!! The following month another charge of $100.00 dollars, NOW at $200.00 gone since the first in person cancellation. I call the gym yet again and get now a "service manager" who assures me she will follow up with me immediately. She mentioned she would call on a Tuesday. So, Tuesday comes and no calls. So, I call and receive no answers. I proceed to file a complaint with my bank to stop payment and provided proof (emails) to show I have attempted to cancel this account along to the credit bureau. Today, I receive a call from the service manager from 4 months ago to LET me know my accounts going into collection for non-payment. I laughed. After letting her know what I had done to protect myself, she hung up. PLEASE beware. I have never dealt with such horrible customer service.

I like this gym a lot. It's open late which I really appreciate. It's friendly but serious. The equipment seems new to me. I've been to gyms with better equipment. I like the metal stuff. There's a lot of plastic. It could use a standing calf machine: it only has has a seated one. Collars for weights are sometimes hard to find, but at least they're there. (MG FItness, on the other hand, gave up stocking them.) It is certainly cleaner too than the Malden YMCA or other gyms I've been to. UPDATE: Collars for weights have become much easier to find. NEW UPDATE: They have recently replaced a number of benches. They used to be missing a pair of 50 lb dumbbells and they've added those too. So they are doing some maintenance.

If you are looking to work out in a dirty place with most equipment broken with no maintenance, here is the right place. You must bring your own disinfectant spray, because their is just water. No signs reinforcing the need to clean after use. Members use the equipment and don't clean. etc.etc.

There are a few pros and cons of joining Crunch Medford. The instructors are awesome, it's very straightforward to schedule a class, and the staff is very polite. Even though we are in the middle of a pandemic the gym always looks dirty, the mirrors, bathroom and drinking fountain are filthy. I go regularly and it never looks like someone cleaned the place. Sometimes I go to the Braintree branch and the equipment is newer, the place cleaner, and the staff reinforces the mask mandate more often. Not sure why there is a disparity between the two branches. They clearly have a lot of new members since the classes are constantly full so I don't understand why there is still broken equipment and doors. This is probably one of the busiest locations but has the worst overall look. Also please fix the sound system, its terrible to see instructors frustrated because things are not working properly.

Went to try out a 1 day free trial. Ended up leaving with a skin infection. I received contact dermatitis using one of the leg machines as the gym lacks spray bottle and basic hygenics. When I addressed the gym about the issue I was informed their manager would contact me, surely they never responded. You be the judge.

Personal training is great ( Rob is a rockstar). The gym itself is not maintained very well though... Quite a few machines that are broken or not working correctly. The tanning which is included in membership has not worked since it opened and ownership has no interest in actually getting tanning going.

The staff have no idea what they are doing. If you want to cancel the membership, they give you a hard time and they want you to repay the yearly membership fee. I payed for the 3 months I had left for the year and they had withdrawn that amount again. I had to go back and demand my money back. Once again, the staff had no idea how to resolve the problem. Overall, a dirty place and the free weights are thrown on the floor by the members as if they were animals. The bathroom also stinks.

I've been a member for for almost 6 months, at first I was not very impressed with this gym but I kept going because they have SO many classes to offer. The teachers are great and the spin instructors, Anna and Ken, are really awesome. The manager there , Renee, is super nice, always greats you with a smile and yesterday I even saw her fixing a broken machine. It has definitely gotten better in the last few months since she took over.

This gym is still terrible. I wrote a previous review about how they stole my money. They responded to make it look like they cared. They asked me to contact them after MONTHS to ask me what happened... also after I had already tried contacting their management and they would not call me back several times... they reached out to me here pretending to care and when I got back to them, not only did they not respond, they did nothing after stealing $1200 from my bank account. Never go here they are terrible.

This is a great gym for the price you get. Alot of Hoist- Brand Machine, free weights, turf, cardio machines and studio. My regret with this Gym branch is that there is not enough of them. But I know there's been issues with this Medford location as far as people choosing not following the rules and treating equipment poorly. There was a time they had a trap bar and it was one my favorite equipment to use for freeweights, then they pulled it away for the public to use. Really overcrowded during peak hours and that also includes the free weights. Funny enough, there isn't enough barbells or squat racks to go around because this gym has big demographic of gym goers who frequents free weights than machines including myself with squats, deadlift and Olympic lifts. Maybe more deadlift stations, barbells and an extra squat rack could help regulate it in the future. One last thing is the cleanliness. I don't mind the men's locker room because most of the time it's not bad except for the clogged toilets, but my wife asks me to put her stuff in my locker because she's traumatized of how dirty the women's locker room.

Good gym usually has enough equipment so I can run through many varieties of workouts without being bothered waiting for others (I usually go really early or mid-day). Machines look fairly new however employees should really start encouraging people to wipe down machines and put away weights. Also, a few more equipment less bars and additional weight trees for them would be good (sometimes squat racks and bench press stations are open without a bar to use or not enough weight). I do appreciate how they have multiple stations to use and even some heavy bags to spare on. Better price and atomosphere than other gyms in the area and good size space. Recently had to cancel due to work travel and relocation easier process than other gyms.

I have belonged to several fitness facilities in my life time. Not once, can I say that I have seen any one of them as filthy as this place. I only stayed seven weeks and then cancelled my membership. Not once did I see any maintenance person cleaning the gym, equipment or locker room. You would expect, that especially during a Pandemic, the owner would be taking EXTRA precautions to ensure the safety of his patrons. Not the case!! Also, the air conditioning has not been working properly the past several weeks. It is hot and humid in the main gym. They put these giant fans in the Aerobics room which does a great job of blowing around any air born COVID germs. I should have called the Board of Health on them. Still may!

I am not impressed with the steps taken to provide a sanitary and safe environment. There are buckets of disinfecting wipes for members to use and signs regarding distancing and masks; however, the rules are not enforced. Used wipes are thrown on the floor or machines, many people are not wearing masks, and no employees are on the floor cleaning or monitoring the crowd. There are no wipes or hand sanitizers in the locker room and only one bottle of hand sanitizer at the front desk, which does not have a pump.

It’s a nice sized space but is really getting run down. There are places in the floors where the rubber is coming up, there are missing weights in the fixed weight rack. They don’t have wipes/spray readily available in all areas to keep equipment clean. A few of the machines are quite squeaky and have been that wait for months. They have a very sparse kettle bell collection. I wonder if they are putting money into the new gym being built in Malden and neglecting this location

I think Crunch is the Newest gym around here, it is pretty good, younger crowd, a lot of fit people who motivate you to workout. Only downside is that it tends to be dirty sometimes. They don't encourage people to wipe down their machines enough. Otherwise I like it a lot

If I could give this gym less than 1 Star, I would. The awful member service that I have experienced here is extremely disheartening. I’ve tried multiple times to speak with management, who are NEVER there or available. I am in a 1 year contract that I signed up to use the gym and use the tanning booths that haven’t worked since I joined. The staff at the desk are rude and unhelpful. I’ve also tried plenty of times to speak with member services and have tried to reach out to corporate. No one has responded. I plan on cancelling as soon as my 1 year contract is done.

I lifted here for 2 years before leaving for another gym. Equipment maintenance is by far the biggest problem they have. It’s common to see a piece of equipment out of service for at least a month. I’ve seen some machine components held up in place by a zip tie. I can recall that the seated hamstring curl machine had gone 3 months without any sort of maintenance. Many benches that were supposed to be drilled into the floor to be kept in place were coming off. If you work out here, you are guaranteed to find at least 1 piece of equipment requiring maintenance, but their main priority is launching new classes instead of basic maintenance. During the mask mandate, I’ve been yelled at for not wearing my mask right after it slipped off momentarily on the rowing machine, only to then see the same employee then not wear theirs the proper way. I have seen a lot of that there. You can find a better gym. Don’t come here.

Looking for a gym as of today. The bathroom's are disgusting. They are always clogged and there is pee and fecal, yes, fecal matter on the floors and toilet seats. The bathroom smells. There is never paper towels and cleaning sprays stocked. There used to be an amazing cleaning lady who was incredible. Now this place is a filthy mess. The front desk staff is extremely unprofessional. The manager claims he has had to take equipment away from the main floor due to people leaving their gym bags on the floor. Why not talk to those individuals and leave equipment we pay to use on the floor so we can use it?! I never write negative reviews, but this gym is going downhill faster than the dust bunnies flying around the place.

It's fine that the charge me one more month which is March, i stop at the Gym( April) and there was this girl say that she is the Manager and told me that i will not be charged again.On May 3rd i went there and complain that why you are still charging me been told by the Manager you will not be charge again. Today June look the statement and was charged again. i called today the woman pick the phone was rude and than hangup the Phone. This gym is stealing money from it members, If you canceled your membership make sure you check your account to see if there are still charging you. Now i need to call the bank for fraud and deactivate my card

Management changed while being a member and got no notifications. At the same time the personal trainer I had left and I had no notification of that short of a new trainer saying "Hey, lets train." Very unprofessional and was also interrupted by another employee during one of my sessions while training. They were nice enough to stop my training despite not being done with my contract. But, this turned into a problem when I was still charged, credited the money back, and then charged again. I had to wait 3 weeks to get my money back and although was told they would call me multiple times, they didn't. It wasn't until I called for the 20th time and said where are we with getting my money back that I immediately received the receipt of the reimbursement. Almost like they were waiting for me to complain to actually return the money. I do not recommend using this gym. This isn't the first time people have said that they were overcharged, double charged, etc.

I've been a member since this location opened. At first it was very clean and then it got really dirty especially in the locker room. really nasty. As management changes the club either is very clean or it's not at all. one thing that keeps bringing me back is the spinning classes by Ana. I absolutely love her classes, high energy, great songs and just overall great classes every time. I also love Elizabeth and Jaqui's classes are really good. If they leave. These instructors deserve 5 stars. I'd have given it 5 stars, but the dusty equipments and dirty bathrooms can't be overlooked.

I joined crunch fitness during summer of ‘21 and began training soon after becoming a member of the gym. The gym is well equipped with free weights, machines and cardio equipment. What has blown my expectations of crunch is the training I’ve received from Rebecca. I’ve lost approximately 40 lbs in 3 months of starting training. She truly cares and is passionate about helping her clients reach their goals. And goes above and beyond to create a workout regime which fits my fitness level and eventually help me achieve my weight loss goal. She continuously checks up to see how my workouts and diet been. And even outside training she has helped me with my form, adjusting my workout regime, and provide dietary suggestions. She is very knowledgeable both in exercise and nutrition. If you plan to sign up for a trainer, I would undoubtedly recommend Rebecca. I’ve had quite a few trainers in other gyms. Unlike those trainers, Rebecca really cares to help me reach my goals and will go above and beyond any other I’ve had to support me in my healthy lifestyle journey.

Same as the many reviews before, they're not following phase III regulations and they're management doesnt do anything of importance. When i asked for my account to close, they didnt, then I was hit with an annual fee months later that's "non-refundable". Clowns can run a business better.

I've been asking for a manager for almost 2 weeks now and everytime I ask the desk they always say the manager isn't in or they have stepped away. They keep taking my phone # down and said they will call me. No one has called me and finally one of the front desk ends up telling me "to be honest, they will never call you, but keep trying to get them when you're in." I gave the desk my # again today, I think her name was Wendy and she said she will personally hand her my phone # to give me a call. I was told I will be credited on my account after they asked me to provide a letter for my account and I did and still they charged me again. I will probably keep asking until someone gets back to me or I'll have to find some corporate number to reach out to them. I am in customer service and this is not how I handle these situations.

This is a “if I could give you 0 stars I would” situation. Downgraded my membership because they don’t have HIIT classes (the main reason for getting the top tier). That took FOREVER because the manager has to do everything & she’s never available. Then I came back to cancel all together because everything is broken and the classes stink, but the manager wasn’t there so I couldn’t. The front desk was able to tell me three different stories about why I was still being charged so much. I’ve been a members of four Crunch fitness locations & this is 100% the worst in every category: customer service, class offerings, & equipment condition

Gym and employees deserve more stars but some members are above abiding by rules. They keep their masks off and don't wipe down equipment. This needs to be enforced. Would hate to see gym closed because phase III rules not followed.

Worst place ever. They charged my account even tho I froze it because i had surgery. They said we will not refund it. So rude staff. Worst gym ever. Worst experience.
