I first started working with Melissa after I had my first baby. I participated in her stroller fit class first. Melissa was so caring and understanding, even though at times there would be 20+ mom's, she would ensure to take the time to spend with each of us and answer any questions as well as ensure we knew how to do the workouts properly and provide any modifications necessary. Once I returned to work, I could no longer attend stroller fit so I started to do one on one training with her. This is where the true work started. I had a gym pass, I would passively go, but always avoided "that side of the gym" - the manual weight side. Melissa took the time to really get to know me- ask what my goals were. For her it's not about the money- it's her passion to help her clients achieve realistic- healthy life goals- not the quick lose it /fad diet and quick exercise routine. Melissa taught me all about proper nutrition, how to fuel my body, get organized as well as teach me proper routine that fit my lifestyle and help me gain the confidence to use manual weights and properly. I now not only can workout on "that side of the gym" but spend 90%of my time there and love it. I then transferred to working with Melissa as an online client and continued to receive amazing support and workouts that work and push me. Fast forward to 2020. I am now newly postpartum again and during all of this Melissa has provided me with online support, stepping back from my exercise routine and just focusing on. Getting my core strength back and proper nutrition. When I am ready, I know she will be right there to support me in my fitness journey.

I started going to Melissa after being away at school and doing very little physical activity for 4 years. My main goal was just to “get back into shape” (having no idea what that actually meant). In the 5 or so months that I have been Melissa’s client, I have gotten so much stronger, increased my endurance, and learned so much about my body, my mindset, and how to workout safely, effectively, and have fun while doing it. Couldn’t recommend her enough! *UPDATE* I have been training with Melissa for almost a year now. She is the most encouraging, caring, and inspiring individual I have ever met, and she brings all of that to every workout we do. When the COVID19 pandemic closed fitness facilities, our in-person workout sessions were sadly cancelled. Without missing a beat, Melissa converted to a distanced version of her workouts and has been sending them every day, along with an encouraging message, goal, and sometimes an evil laugh when she knows we are in for some pain. Being a small business owner, she is part of one of the groups hardest hit by this pandemic but she has not let it stop her. Her daily workouts have not only kept me sane, but the physical transformation I have experienced has been unbelievable, with little to no equipment at home. I still cannot recommend her enough! *UPDATE* Now in the second lockdown of COVID19, Melissa has yet again adapted to provide virtual classes through zoom. These classes have become something I look forward to and leave me sweaty, sore, and smiling every single time. The flexibility of buying a package of classes and scheduling them as you go has been perfect while balancing the work-from-home life while trying to remain active. If you want a high quality workout, an amazingly supportive coach, and a way to keep yourself moving during this lockdown, I would recommend Melissa’s classes hands down!

Throughout the 6 weeks, Melissa helped guide me in developing and maintaining sustainable exercise practices and nutritional and personal goals. Seamlessly blending professionalism and a sunny disposition, Melissa and the personalized program she crafted has helped me rebuild familiarity with fundamental exercises and movements, and rethink/reflect on my approach to nutrition - helping me flip the script and think of nutrition in terms of a friend rather than foe. I was recently referred to Melissa for a couple of sessions regarding my workout routine. At these sessions Melissa went over my current gym routine, discussed my fitness goals, and provided input into creating a more efficient gym routine. At these sessions, Melissa provided valuable input for proper machine usage, weight routines, and posture. Melissa also discussed and answered my fitness questions that I felt uncomfortable asking at the gym (machine usage, etc.) or required a professional fitness trainers’ opinion. Melissa was very client focused and willing to assist me as if I was one of her full-time clients. Joining Melissa's postpartum zoom class once a week has been the best decision I've made in my postpartum journey. I was hesitant at first as an exhausted new Mom and couldn't fathom how I'd have the energy to workout for an hour when I haven't had a full night's sleep for several months and haven't been eating properly either. I am so, so happy I decided to go for it! Melissa expertly creates workouts that are safe and beneficial for postpartum. She guides you through each exercise, demonstrates, provides a few variations for different levels, checks-in, and provides feedback throughout. Melissa is motivating and offers positive encouragement. She has reached out to me during the week to ask me how I'm feeling and what my goals are for the week ahead. After her class, I always feel like I can be so much more productive with my day, I eat healthier, feel better both mentally and physically, and sleep better. She is very supportive, knowledgeable, an amazing role model and teacher, and man will she make you sweat in a workout! When the pandemic started, I was working from home and living a very sedentary life. I also felt disheartened with state of the world, while dealing with isolation. I knew I needed to make a change. Our experience in Melissa's strollerfit classes has been fantastic! I began 3 months after my first baby and immediately felt welcomed and in the right place. Melissa explained exercises well and gave variety for each fitness level. She was attentive and assisted with form each class. As a Kinesiologist, I value the knowledge she has specifically in postpartum fitness and also mom life. My goal was to get active outside while meeting other moms in the area and it was definitely accomplished. The class environment Melissa has created is fabulous with an amazing group of Mommas. The location and time of class is perfect and if baby is awake or sleeping, newborn or walking, it doesn't matter. (Pregnant Moms to be have joined in too!) We are excited for next May when classes will start up again. If you're unsure about participating, I highly recommend trying out a class!

Melissa is fantastic! I joined her Mom & Baby Fitness class 10 weeks postpartum and have been taking the class for a month. I have seen lots of improvements physically and feel much stronger. Not only have I seen physical changes but my mental health has improved along with my confidence in my postpartum body. I feel like I am back in my own skin again thanks to Melissa. She pushes you when needed but is understanding if you need a break and will modify your workout. She is very knowledgeable with the exercises needed for a postpartum body. Melissa has been so awesome and has helped jump start my postpartum recovery! I was interested in Melissa’s stroller fit class but before I started she suggested I try a 1-1 because I was having pelvic floor, low back, and hip pain. The 1-1 was very helpful and gave me so many great tips and tricks and made working not hurt! We did a follow up and it was really good! We built on what we worked on initially and from stroller fit classes! I tried her stroller fit classes too and they are great!! Such a good workout and the other moms have been very nice as well!

I have had chronic lower back pain since I can remember and was struggling with finding form in my workout that wasn't uncomfortable for my lower back and hips. I met Melissa on the very first day of her strollerfit classes when I was off with my first born. Our babes are a month apart in age. I was nervous joining this class. Fitness has always been an interest but never classes. After multiple rounds of fertility hormones and two pregnancies. One ectopic and beautiful ginger boy. I joined this class self conscious and insecure. Melissa welcomed everyone with open arms and a beautiful smile. At first I thought great... look at this mama she is a total babe... as if she just had a kid. She is the most kind and beautiful soul I have ever met and her classes were amazing. Modified to fit every level of fitness and post partum journey. Fast forward to a January. I was finally cleared to start working out again after the birth of my daughter via csection. I knew I would reach out to Melissa having loved her stroller fit classes in the past. Because it was winter I decided as an xmas gift from my hubby I wanted to purchase some of her classes. So I did...again I was not disappointed. She is so knowledgeable compassionate and motivating. When covid hit I was sad that the classes in the gym were cancelled. As these were my way of getting out of the house in the winter with two kiddos where I could do some self care and they were getting socialized and could play at the same time Win win for us both! Melissa made what looked like a seamless transition from gym to home workouts without skipping a beat! She sends daily posts with workouts and goals for the day! Though I miss the in person classes and all the beautiful mamas Melissa and her amazing work has kept me sane during this pandemic craziness. She is so incredibly amazing I can not recommend her enough!!! Pre baby I was "fit and in shape" though I still have work to do to reach my goals she is constantly pushing me outside my comfort zone to do better and build confidence. I consider myself fairly educated. I workout consistently. I researched post-partum fitness, diastasis recti, and I thought I could manage healing safely on my own. I knew better than to jump into fitness after being cleared, but when a doctor says “you’re good to go, you can do intense activity” I jumped right in against my better judgement. 1 year of being stubborn and just wanting to be “me” again didn’t do myself many favours. As soon as I saw there was a strollerfit program I was excited to get some exercise, be outside with my baby and meet some other moms. When I booked a 1-1 with Melissa she could tell that I was struggling with hip pain as it was tight in those areas. Melissa was able to provide stretches and proper training. She corrected my form and really helped me understand the importance of correct breathing, engaging my core and proper pelvic positions. I walked away from that 1-1 feeling like a new women! I was very relieved that Melissa was able to help me. I now feel confident that one day soon I will be able to start running again, pain free! Fast forward 2 kids later and after seeing physio I still was having a hard time getting back into fitness without being in excruciating pain after a few days. I decided to come to Melissa after having my first baby, and needed some help with fitness (motivation and getting back into an exercise routine), my lower back pain, and working on my pelvic floor. I loved Melissa’s Stroller Fit classes! She really took the time to break down movements that help with postpartum recovery and was happy to help address any specific issues we were experiencing (such as back pain etc). I was surprised at the breadth of knowledge Melissa has regarding postpartum rehab and the classes offered a relaxed environment where you can socialize with other new moms in the community and tend to fussy babies as much as needed, while getting in an amazing workout! I really looked forward to the classes every week. They forced me to get out of the house while on maternity leave which helped improve my mental health as well. Melissa changed up the workouts each week to help us progress, which kept it fun and interesting. I’ve tried many different workouts in the past, but your body goes through so many changes during pregnancy - it’s intimidating to jump back into any old workout routine, so I felt more comfortable knowing this program is postpartum specific. Stroller-Fit class is a 10/10 for any new mom wanting to get back into exercising post baby. When my friend suggested we try stroller-fit I was a little nervous, as most new moms know, post baby you just don’t feel 100% yourself yet. However, right from the very first class everything I was nervous about I instantly forgot. Melissa made me feel comfortable right from the start, with everything we did. Being a first time mom newly post partum and dealing with a weak pelvic floor, I didn’t know the first thing about what exercise I should start off doing. Melissa helped me get back to the basics with our very first introductory class. At first I must admit I was thinking that this class was maybe a waste, as I already knew how to do this, or so I thought. But as Melissa broke things down and went through the proper form and breathing associated with it, I realized that I really needed to learn this to help with any further exercise. From this first class, it really helped me to advance and build upon my strength and conditioning, as I had the basics to work off of. Melissa was always able to adapt every exercise to meet everyone’s needs, while still giving you a challenge. I dealt with alot of abdominal weakness and weak pelvis floor after baby. Melissa was able to always give me tips and adaptations to our exercise that helped to best meet my needs, while still allowing me to build my strength. This class was something that helped to get me and my son out of the house a few days a week, and truly got me excited about exercising. However, it was not just an exercise class. Class was a place where I was able to interact and meet other new moms going through similar things during their post partum recovery. I can’t wait to get back out there next year once classes start up again.

She can laugh with you, understand how you feel, and genuinely shares in on your excitement. After 5 months of strength training with her, I've lost inches, I've figured out clear goals that I want to accomplish, and I've learned how to be kinder to myself, which is so important when you're freshly post-partum.

I began my journey with Melissa 5.5 weeks post partum, I had a rough start/adjustment to my transition to being a mom and a friend recommended her stroller-fit classes, I read more into the group and booked a 1-1 with Melissa to ease into the program. Melissa is very professional, super friendly and has an excellent understanding of everything that a new mom would have questions or concerns about post partum wise, fitness and nutrition. She spent time explaining how you need to breath, and position your body to properly train your body to recover from the beautiful journey of having a baby. That was one of the most important steps I found helpful because if your positioned or breathing properly your not getting the right work out. Starting the classes she made me feel welcome and with talking to the other women there I didn’t feel like I was the only one that was “new”. Melissa provides a safe place for moms to go work on themselves getting stronger physically and emotionally. Her classes allow you to meet other ladies going through the same things, provides opportunities to talk about your experience and ask questions about things you are unsure of or not aware of. In the middle of a pandemic this was a huge opportunity for me as there is barley any mom groups happening, I highly recommend this program and Melissa as a personal trainer or post partum coach. I also booked a 1-1 nutrition consult with her, where she thoroughly went through current dietary habits and asked what your goal was and gave various meal options and nutritional advice. Unlike the average personal coach, she takes the time to check in often to see how your doing and offers assistance with any questions you may have. I highly recommend both the stroller fit classes and for personal training. One other amazing thing is her workouts provide realistic exercises that you can easily do at home, no need to pay for a gym membership! She also has a very supportive realistic approach to post partum recovery and fitness. The stroller fit aims to suit all different fitness levels and she demonstrates each exercise to suit individual needs AND if your babe is upset or crying, she is there to allow you to continue the workout while she calms your baby! I approached Melissa with the unknowing if she had other clientele other than postpartum, she quickly replied no and welcomes any clientele who seeks help in her field of profession. She was prompt to set up 1on1 training sessions and in these classes showed extensive knowledge in physical health. I requested rehab for knees and shoulders and she had no shortage of exercises to get the ball rolling for me! Its been about 3 months now and with the program shes created for me along with a few extra 1on1 sessions, not just my shoulder and knee but the rest of my overall physical health is 100x better than where i used to be and only getting better! I'm so glad I found Melissa! I was half way through my pregnancy and needed a program to help me stay motivated with exercise. She was recommended by several friends, and after one class I understood why. I've done a lot of exercise programs before, but never one quite as amazing as this. The intro class is perfect because Melissa takes the time to actually teach you how to set your core and goes through her most common exercises so you learn how to do them properly. The classes themselves are incredible and go by so fast! She provides lots of modifications (great for a massively pregnant newbie like me!), and also challenges you to go harder when she knows you can. I've been surprised by how much I've been able to do at this stage in my pregnancy. I always feel so much better after doing her classes and definitely feel stronger! I know it will make a difference to my upcoming labour and delivery. I can't say enough how much I've enjoyed Melissa's program, and I'm looking forward to continuing to challenge myself pre- and post-partum!

Before Covid 19 hit, I loved attending Melissa’s classes in person at the gym. When classes got cancelled, I was worried I wouldn’t be motivated to workout from home with the kids. That was until Melissa started developing at-home workouts that easily replaced the workouts I’d normally complete with her at the gym. Melissa is extremely encouraging and supportive! I’ve actually found it easier than I expected to complete the workouts from home. I like that they are always challenging and focus on really strengthening areas that are much weaker on me postpartum. I am always sore after completing the circuits, and I feel significantly stronger all over, but especially through my core and pelvic floor muscles. I highly recommend Melissa! If I could give more than five stars, I would! I completed personal training with Melissa throughout the month of August. She is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to fitness, functional exercise, and all things postpartum. Before I started working with Melissa, I could barely do a basic lunge. Working with Melissa has enabled me to perfect my form, connect with my breathing, engage my core, and increase my strength (not just in exercise, but during everyday tasks too). At 5 months postpartum, I am stronger and more in-tune with my body than I ever was pre-pregnancy. Her Stroller-Fit classes are also a fun and motivating environment for anyone to exercise! What can I say without writing a book, because she deserves a book! Ha ha I was following Melissa on social media BEFORE I was a client of hers, and even then, if I had ANY questions she would get back to me that day with helpful tips, I mean really WHO does that!!! To answer that, a person who is honestly in the business to help people and listen to people instead of making money. I had been out of the gym for a few months before COVID hit because of a neck injury, and then COVID came along and things just started to spiral out of control nutrition wise and working out. In April I started working with Melissa, and let me tell you, the first training session I felt defeated!!!!!!!! I had lost so much strength from being off and had gained so much weight, but instead of playing into my pity party Melissa said forget about the scale and started FROM SCRATCH with me, working on weekly goals and taking one day at a time. We have now worked together since April and literally EVERYTHING has changed. I have a deeper understanding of nutrition, meal prepping, the importance of drinking water, FORM, and overall a more comfortable feeling in my body. She has taught me that when you eat right (trust me it did not come easy and I STILL have a long way to go) you feel stronger, your body IS stronger and you sleep better at night. Pretty much everything gets better ha ha. Trust me it is NOT easy, but it is a hell of a lot easier when you have her at your side. I think the best part is when you start working with Melissa, you are not just getting a personal trainer but a genuine person who cares about you as a friend. I will tell you her one weakness though….she has a hard time saying NO and will sacrifice her down time to help out her clients because she wants you to succeed. So don’t take advantage of that! I apologize that this is SO LONG, but I wanted you, as the reader to understand that Melissa works on everything with you, while being calm, patient, knowledgeable, and 100% pure intentions of helping YOU be the BEST YOU!

I cannot say enough good things about Melissa and her programs. Having two babies back to back in under 2 years left me feeling very weak. I struggle with lower back pain & weak abdominal & pelvic floor muscles, as do a lot of women after giving birth. Every other fitness program slaps a “6 week postpartum you’re good to go!” But Melissa took the time to see where I was at individually. I first met Melissa at the Strollerfit classes that a friend invited me to. The first thing I noticed was simply how kind she was. She didn’t expect anyone to know what to do nor did she have an expectation as to where anyone was, yet she was able to break it down for the least experienced & make it more challenging for those who were either later in their postpartum journey. As a former athlete, at first I was skeptical because I felt like I knew everything she was teaching ... I couldn’t have been more wrong. After day one, I woke up the next day feeling parts of my core that I didn’t know were still there! After a couple classes, I booked a personal session and within a few weeks, pain I had been experiencing for months began to improve significantly. Melissa is always willing to help with fussy babes, and the thing I appreciate MOST is that she treats absolutely everyone the same. Her kindness and professionalism is second to none. She has truly built an encouraging, safe space for moms that encourages self loveand that is so needed. I am now doing indoor classes with her and I feel like I am well on my way to postpartum recovery without a pressure to “bounce back”. The community she has built is unique, and it is worth every well priced penny. I can’t recommend her enough.

When I signed up for stroller fit I thought I would just be going to do some jumping jacks in the park with other mums. Little did I know Melissa is actually super knowledgeable and basically a physio, she diagnosed my abdominal diastasis and hip impingement. In group class she always takes time to correct my form and the 1:1 sessions have been invaluable in correcting my new found body issues and making me comfortable in this new post-baby body. She is also a genuinely lovely upbeat person. If you’re a new mum do yourself a favour and come to the stroller fit classes! Add on- Mom and baby fitness classes have been such a game changer for me. It’s been fundamental to have Melissa guide me through how to lift/ exercise correctly with this new body. The classes are super fun and a great way to meet other like minded mums and even get socials for your little one. Melissa seamlessly manages to hold your baby in one arm, a toddler in the other and all whilst correcting your squat form! I will definitely continue working with Melissa, but when I independently do a workout I’ll always have the lessons that she’s taught me ‘pelvis in, ribs trucked, back flat…’

I have been training with Melissa for almost two years now and it has been quite the journey! When I first started to train with Melissa I was all about getting into shape and not so worried about nutrition or my mindset. Melissa helped me with all that by setting goals and pushing me to be the best. After my first year of training I have never felt so good about myself! My training with Melissa has shifted in the last 3 months, as I am pregnant. My workouts have been modified, but I am still lifting, doing squats, lunges, chest presses, you name it! Throughout all workouts Melissa watches all movements and ensures your core is engaged (which if you train with her you know, pregnant or not, that your core has to be engaged). I was not comfortable doing this on my own because I didn’t know what was safe to do during pregnancy. With the knowledge, training and experience Melissa has training during pregnancy I feel safe working out right to the end of my pregnancy. With that being said my journey won’t end there, as Melissa also does post pregnancy training! Melissa is great to work with! I think her best quality is making other people feel so good about themselves. She wants you to feel confident about yourself, physically, mentally, and emotionally, which is not something everyone is able to do!
