You get what you pay for: The place is busy, the equipment is "tired looking" worn or wearing out, pieces are missing or equipment is compromised to appease certain members. Ants in the guys changeroom and only one properly functioning faucet (for months)...but the staff is nice.

This place will try to nickel and dime you for everything you're worth so just be prepared going in and read all the fine print. Facilities are good for weight training with lots of equipment available. The women's only area is a nice touch. If you get the VIP membership - Cycling classes and instructors here are great. Yoga instructors are good but the complete lack of soundproofing to the gym makes the classes unbearable. The price is great if they don't catch you with any of their hidden fees, but overall this is still my least favourite world gym I have had a membership at (comparing to both Hamilton locations and Barrie location)

I called in to have them cancel my membership over a year ago and found out they are still charging me to this day!! I emailed them and they said unfortunately I have to be there in person to cancel knowing that I can’t do that!! Do not sign with this gym!!!!

It’s good. I mean for the price what can you expect? It’s always so busy but at 10 bucks a month that’s a given. I just use free weights most of the time. They could add more squat racks though and it would be beneficial to have a squat rack or two in the women’s section.

Illegally changed their ID to charge my bank account after I passed a stop payment through my bank, to prevent unauthorized payments in the first place. I tried cancelling my membership multiple times to only hear agreement and then see failure to comply over and over. Horribly passive staff. After many back and forth trips to drill through them I wanted my subscription terminated I had given up because of the incompetence eventually adding it to a consolidation, that they agreed to comply with however of course did not. They racked up my bill to $504 then sold it to a Credit company. Honestly, excellent gym; excellent space; great parking; great monthly based price; great equipment and variety of; but horrible staff, law breaking company, apply at your own risk. Very good if you're going to stay, but they will make it very difficult for you to leave and will try their hardest to rob money from you in the process.

Horrible costumer service. The set up an auto renewal without informing you, albeit, it is in the small print on one of the pages in the contract. If you don't cancel your membership, they still keep taking money, even after years of inactivity, and then still want you to pay to get out of the contract. They have good equipment and it's 24 hours, but the customer service, is the worst I've seen in the industry.

Advertised as 24 hour gym. It is only 24 hours during the week. Not on weekends. This makes it hard for those who work till 6:30pm. Therefore, this is false advertising as a 24 hour gym is expected to be open 24 hours a day everyday.

Great gym, however their memberships are terribly difficult to get out of. So if you’re 100% sure you’re going to use their facilities to the fullest extent for an entire year, you won’t have any issues. As a student, one who is only here for school 8 months out of the year it is somewhat of a financial burden, considering there are not many locations and no option to transfer gyms regardless. A lot of work to do if they want to progress. But I always have a great workout here regardless! Endless machines, you won’t catch yourself waiting to use anything.

???? Staff is great; friendly and helpful. Even though it can get quite busy the facility is kept quite clean and I have never had to wait for a machine which are all new. Most of the other members are very friendly and are a great mix: beginners, intermediate & experienced, a welcome atmosphere for all. And for $10/$20/month this is a great deal and I am very glad I joined. I recommend to everyone and those who complain should give their heads a shake and go pay $$$$$$$ somewhere else.

Lots of machines for all your needs. Friendly staff, good classes and other programs, organized and clean free weight area. They've also got a women's only area if you want to workout in a semi private space. Changerooms were clean, hot showers, and a humid sauna.

Today I went into World Gym St Catharines (around 6pm). The quality of this gym is hard to beat! The staff are all extremely helpful. I feel a lot safer here knowing that they are enforcing lots of safety precautions due to Covid. The ladies behind the front desk were doing a great job! Keep up the good work WG!

Good selection of equipment. Very busy unless you go in the morning. Cardio equipment is not well maintained. But lots to choose from so you can usually find something that's working. Equipment is even less maintained in the women's section however I do appreciate the section being available . Have never taken a class due to times of classes. They simply don't work with my schedule. Staff is nice. Facility is usually clean. Often water buckets are lying around from leaks during High precipitation seasons. Really good value for the cost of membership. Pros definitely outweigh cons. I will definitely recommend as an economy gym option for someone looking to work out but can't afford some of the other options

Staff is extremely friendly and the facilities are very clean, with modern equipment. For the price, it can't be beat. (Tanning and hydromassage are great perks for 20$/month. Also, being able to bring a friend FOR FREE each time you go is worth the upgrade from the basic 10$ membership) The business can't help what kind of clientele they have, or how busy it is, so with the things they can control, this gym is great.

I have been going there since it first opened. I am over 50 and work out 4 to 5 times a week. I go between 6am and 9am. It is never crowded. The regulars are friendly. Going between 4 pm and 7pm is very busy and I don't bother unless i just want to do cardio. For the price I pay I can't complain except when someone uses a machine in a way that it was not intended. That drives me crazy as some machines then don't work properly. Staff should monitor and prevent that. Rebecca is a manager there she is always so nice and helpful.

Gym is always packed, no customer service and only offers to new VIP members but nothing for existing members. Called to cancel my membership this morning, came in and was told only a manager had the authority to do so. BUT I can write a letter to come in and cancel my membership and mail it?? 95% Cardio equipment. So the massive gym is compact to one tiny corner where there are only two adjustable benches infront of the mirrors. Lose half your cardio equipment, put up another wall of mirrors and add more lifting/cable equipment. 170 person capacity limit and only one tiny area where people actually workout. Manager needs to make some changes. This gym is a nightmare

I was a member at this gym for years. I never missed a payment. The pandemic hit and for some reason they stopped drawing payments from my account. I am not sure why, I assumed because the gym wasn't open they were not charging their customers. They never communicated anything to me so I was unaware. Last month I received an overdue payment letter in the mail asking for 2 years worth of dues with interest on it. No communication ever after missing 1, 2, 3, 6 months, 1 year of payments. Just a bill for 2 years worth of dues with interest. This gym is a cheap gym but this is a terrible way to treat a client. You would think some notice would be given prior to the 2 year mark. Very disappointed in this gym and the way they do business. I cannot cancel my contract because they want me to go in person but they are not open. Also they won't even answer the phone when I have tried to call and next month I will get another letter stating that I owe more money that I cannot facilitate payment on. I cannot stress enough how poorly they are managed and operated. Aside from this the change rooms were never clean, the gym was over crowded and the staff complacent and not friendly. I have would suggest going to literally any other gym.

The equipment is plentiful, staff are friendly and helpful. My only concern is the lack of cleanliness in the men's change room. I understand the salt is a major contributing factor to the problem, but it appears there is little effort to deal with the issue. On three occasions I approached staff with this concern and was told it would be adressed but it was't. One locker had a dirty pair of underwear in it for the entire time so I know it was not done. I take the initiative to clean my own locker before I use it but should'nt that be staff's responsibility ? I hope this response will make some positive changes for the gym. Thanks

Just started getting back to working out and I love this gym. Lots of people complain about hidden fees, but I have never had much of an issue. There was a stop payment on my account for a couple months and they did try to take our money, but I went in and told them about it and got my money back and continued paying for it again. Overall, minus the payment thing, a great gym

This place has a great set of dumbbells, great benches, and great stability balls and they use spray bottles and reusable towels instead of wet wipes. I just wish that they had a heavy bag. However the problem is that they'll charge you an annual fee, even if you suspend your membership. That way nothing about your membership changes.

The positive things I've got to say about this gym is that it's pricing is very affordable, I like the fact that you can bring a guest with you as well. They have a variety of equipment as well. Now for the negative it's too packed but I guess it's what you get for the rate you pay. Also they don't really throughly explain some of their extra fees. Some of the staff aren't helpful. I came in the other day to get some help and the staff member was giving me the run around he didn't seem to want to deal with me. The staff doesn't seem to be all on the same page. Don't get me wrong tho there are some staff members that have been helpful.

Tried to cancel my membership on phone in July. I was told that my membership was cancelled but i was charges from august to December. I tried to explain them the situation. I changed the province in July after having the cancellation. Now they say you have to come in person or send a mail to the gym. I talked to one of the employers in the gym and she said i can send someone on my behalf to cancel the membership. My friend went there and they said i have to be there in person.These guys are justed wasting my time. I mean, it has been a lockdown in Ontario again and again. If there is a policy that during lockdown we are not going to get charged then why you are charging me money. I did email to the manager and she didn’t answer me for 3 days. When there is a time for payment, then you send me 2 emails at ones to remind me about the payment. Why can’t you deal with it ???

I went for the first time on Friday. I thoroughly enjoyed myself for such a large facility the staff count on the people who use the facility to clean up after themselves which I am pleased to say they do. I recently had full knee replacement surgery and was able to do my exercises as well as ride a bike. I had an amazing experience. Next time I go I will access the tanning bed and massager for a reasonable price of course only $6.00. The 2 are free with a certain membership. I encourage anyone who wants to lose weight built up or just get in shape to go

I mean you really can’t beat the price, equipment isn’t bad you’ve got everything you need and there’s a basketball court which is a plus. Could use more windows though and some air fresheners in the washrooms. Staff is good always saying hello and goodbye plus they got some cuties lol. Terrible service for trying to cancel membership, even during covid. During Covid it was frustrating to see that no one was enforcing masks being worn in the building.

This place is awesome, most times I go I can get right into whatever I need to do. Staff is always friendly, smiling, welcomes and says goodbye and is always willing to help. The facilities are clean and equipment is in good shape. Love this gym!

Awesome staff and friendly environment, lots of weights and machines for all types of training, although it seems to take forever to get equipment fixed/repaired, when it breaks it is usually down for awhile but they have lots of selection which seems to help. You can't beat the price for the monthly membership, clean tanning beds, awesome hydro massage beds, they even offer a wide variety of classes. The change rooms are a little tight depending on what time you go due to the lockers being stacked on top of another but that shouldn't matter as you go to workoutout, not to socialize in the change rooms. Overall it is an awesome Gym, I would highly recommend checking then out! ????

Called to suspend membership again on March 3 2021 and was told not to worry as World Gym would honor my request boy Was I wrong .They charged me and refused to give my money back and would only credit it to my membership when I went back or towards my cancelation fees of two months.They said I could not prove I had called them to suspend my membership even though I had done so several times previously? Get any requests from them in writing and a name of who you spoke with and the date. Response from the owneran hour ago Sean Thank you for your feedback. Covid has been a very interesting time for us all. The gym's phone has been ringing nonstop since we opened back up. Our apologizes if your call wasn't handled correctly. We will address your concerns with our staff team and make sure they slow down to assist the members. You can contact Rebecca the General Manager of the area who should be able to assist you further. Thank you Nothing to assist with further as I have cancelled the memberships for myself and my daughter and will be checking my accounts to ensure no further monies withdrawn .

They'll say your membership is cancelled and then not cancel it. They built up a bill close to 400$ . Absolutely horrible gym, always over crowded. Not worth the money.
