Great place
Favourite GoodLife.
Change to cooperate membership, it is still not activated my account after more than 2 weeks
New facility with updated equipment, variety of classes , free weights, great staff and friendly atmosphere. Definitely my favorite club in the city.
Spacious lots of equipment
It is a fairly new location so it is pretty nice and the equipment is generally in good condition. The staff is always friendly as well.
Good size gym compared to Liverpool location.
There are three different GoodLife fitness locations in Ajax. I think this one is the best. It has the most variety of machines. While it is busy I'm still able to get to everything I want to in the gym. I think I have been to every GoodLife fitness in Durham and I would probably say this is the best one overall. Although I do like the Oshawa location also.
Good place.
Nice workout
Great customer service especially from the Assistant GM Jermain! Continue the amazing work.
nice
Great place to work out
Friendly staff
Crappy toilets, broken lockers, rude receptionist... And people banging their weights.. show off place
This is my main GoodLife gym I visit in Ajax. Good size with a lot of weights and machines. It can get busy at peak times, but overall I usually have no issue working out here.
Great place
It's great gym. I found the price for membership to be affordable compared to other gyms of that level. There are many of them and easy to access.
Nice gym
The personal trainer Maria was super knowledgeable and good to work with overall! She has a great mindset and pushes you to get better each session. If you want to start getting better results in the gym, I highly recommend her as a personal trainer.
Good location
Good place to work out
Great customer service representatives and excellent fitness equipment.
Great facility! Always clean and staff are extremely friendly and polite!
I work here????
I am a member of Good-life fitness from more than ten years. I never knew their personal trainer programme is not as professional as the club is . They promise me no matter what your needs or fitness goals are, we have a custom Personal Training package that's right for you. In actual they failed to fulfill their promise, their was no individualize programme to fulfill my needs. Once I planned to cancel my registration for a Personal Trainer, I found out they charge me for canceling the registration . It was not mentioned in the contract. The trainer promise a lot but in actual, it is just time pass. Their trainers are not as trained or personal as they should. Charging hidden fees is some thing that none professional companies will do.
Very good fitness club. Great staff and lots of equipment. Careful of the parking lot... should be 4 way stops on the main entrance !!!
Goood people good employees
Gym facilities are great large space and great equipment and amenities. Very Very dissapointed in the attitude of the woman at the front desk. She should not be employed in a position that greats members. Not helpful or friendly. Unfortunately I will try my best not to use this location ever again due to her attitude. The Jump program is run by a nice lady, she also mentioned other members hove made the same observation of the woman at the front desk in the morning.
Always friendly environment and kept clean.
Nice gym. High ceilings. Always clean with friendly staff!
Large and open space. 24 hours. Staff is friendly. A ton of free weights.
Can be beer busy during rush hours.
One the best Fitness centre
I go to Goodlife gyms quite often and this one is situated in a place where you can run outside to ravines and conservation areas and then run back to shower or do some weight training. It's large, almost to the point it's hard to find some of the equipment. It delivers a scalable gym experience but it isn't a gym like in TV shows where everyone knows everyone else. That's fine by me ... running is a lonely form of exercise and you learn to live with the company in your head.
A large and bright, with large windows, facility where you enjoy your workouts in an open gymnasium.
Great location, great service. Specifically, staff members like Amy play a large role in upholding or to be more blunt, enhancing the quality of the gym. Not too long ago, a friend of mine lost her ID (A big thank you to Dolly as well for notifying her). Before I could explain the situation to Amy, she already had the ID ready for pick-up. She is very dedicated to her job, going as far as even remembering the names of the club's members. Nevertheless, it was not the first time that I and others noticed her incredible work ethic. Whether you need assistance at the front desk or have club-related questions, she is the first to answer (with highly effective answers / solutions). She knows the club protocols by heart and communicates at a level of clarity and professionalism that you would expect from a manager. I cannot confirm who came up with the weekly/seasonal workout challenges, but she makes sure to encourage members to participate. Two weeks ago, we saw Amy helping a member find a phone (presumably) or another lost item by the cardio machines. If it is not providing personal assistance, she is always doing something productive: checking the reclining chairs after her shift, making sure the weights are properly organized, greeting and/or saying her goodbyes to every member. Admittedly, I cannot deny that the gym is quite busy but the tier of service that you receive is worth the sign-up. I am happy that GoodLife has taken its staff selection diligently. Amy is here every single night till 10PM sharp. I don't know if she is a manager or not. Regardless, this place wouldn't be the same without her and her contributions lend credibility to GoodLife's well earned reputation. In short, I give props to GoodLife and its staff.
Can be a little crowded. But a great workout location!
My home gym. Great location with top notch staff.
I love the ajax gym on taunton...has everytging you need except swimming pool and sports gym
The mental struggle of getting to the gym can be rough but 2 associates that work at this location always make me look forward to going - Victoria & Dan. They are both so personable & helpful. They see hundreds of people each day but I appreciate the fact that they know me by my name. This small personal touch is much appreciated & makes me feel like a valued client! And if their manager comes across this review - yes they always remind everyone to sanitize their hands!
Somewhat loud
Very nice and accommodating staff especially Simone at the desk! Thanks for the great experience.
Fairly new location with ample parking.
Very good gym goodlife
Amazing supportive staff! Great facility, very clean, great place to get a good pump, trainers are also amazing , especially Matthew!
Bad weekend hours
This gym has been set up fairly well. Lots of equipment and maintained pretty well. Could use 1 more military press (barbell).
Clean
Large GoodLife and well kept.
Great location, friendly staff, clean and not to busy off a location, no pool though
Best Goodlife ! from front desk to workout space everything is the best evening during Covid.. Just wish can be open at 5am!
A good place to work out but the vibe isn't there
The gym was smaller than I expected and really busy! Plus the only water fountain in the place was broken and leaking water all over the floor, I didn't have a water bottle to get by :S. If I went back it would probably be better though....probably
My favourite place!
I am member with good life and I enjoy going there
Started going here a few weeks ago. The staff are all so friendly especially Simone. She greets myself and my friend every morning when we go in to work out. You don't feel uncomfortable at all working out here and the entire atmosphere of the gym is wonderful.
Great facility
Good gym
I wish I’d an option to give negative in stars, but anyways, this gyms is extremely clean and has a lot of equipments. BUT, THE GENERAL MANAGER HAS NO PROFESSIONAL SENSE OF DEALING WITH THE MEMBERS. To be honest, the employees have faaar better customer service and etiquettes to talk to people rather than the general manager JASON. He has no sense of respect towards the members and has no values. I’m really happy that there are more gyms in my area, otherwise my whole period of my membership would have been ruined because of this guy. I was in for my workout today and HE checked me in first and after 15-20 minutes he cancelled my workout with no prior notice or any conversation. After which I talked to him and he said that you can’t book twice in a day and had the audacity to say that he can freeze my membership anytime if he wants. I’ve seen a lot of people working out twice in a day at different locations. This is the experience we are looking for in the best chain of gyms in Canada? Even he had the audacity to say that he is the general manager and can do anything that he wants. I feel pity and by far, this was my worst experience in Goodlife. I hope there is some training to become a general manager, which I think this guy never got. I hope my review is taken into consideration.
Kind of dark inside. I'm used to a brighter club.
Best gyms in the country - lots of classes with decent , virtual and scheduled. Decent variety and quality of equipment weight training and cardiovascular.
Been at this location before. Clean except the the men's change room.
Not the best GoodLife that I have been to but not the worst. The staff is always helpful and nice. A few times I have noticed things haven't been cleaned well. For example dirty towels in the lockers of the female change rooms and lots of grit and dirt in the exercise room from the plastic sand filled weights. Otherwise I always see staff cleaning the mirrors and floors. This location does not push personal training, in fact I had a sales associate tell me that I would not benefit from the personal training program they were offering at the time because it was more for beginners. This has been different from other locations I have been to and was very refreshing! Not as many exercise classes as other GoodLife gyms. But the weight room always has squat racks and machines available or with a very short wait.
I’ve use this facility for a long time, it’s always clean, great equipment and friendly staff.
Spacious, clean, friendly staff, and never cramped.
Facilities are good but beware of thieves. Didn't lose anything other than a lock but other patrons have lost cash from the locker room. Staff didn't seem to care much and could only file a police report. No other additional security methods were implemented to deter thieves from future attempts.
Great gym — large facility with friendly staff. Even when it’s busy, you still have machines/room to work out. Convenient place as it’s in the same plaza as Petro, Dollarama , and Subway!
Nice number of squat racks. The fountain water tasted like bleach.
The gym is a good size and good place to work out and it has wifi
First time going to this branch - Not bad I may say. I like the variety of machines which are not commonly found on any Goodlife branches at least in the Scarborough area. The background music is not too loud and the staffs are friendly. Will go here again.
Favourite goodlife in the GTA...big, spacious, lots of equipment and friendly people.
Nice facility
This is my go to gym since June 2017. I love the atmosphere and the people who work here are all great. Machines are always clean and usually all in operation. Sometimes they have 3 or 4 machines down waiting to be fixed, which kind of sucks, but usually they get fixed pretty quickly. Washrooms and change rooms are pretty big and spacious. Theirs also a steam room good for about 6 or 8 ppl at one time, and about 8 showers. Their is no pool at this location. They have a nice variety of treadmills, bikes, stair masters and ellipticals. Theirs also a fairly decent amount of workout machines as well. The weight rack has tonnes of dumbells that range from 2.5lbs all the way up to 110lbs. Lots of benches and barbells too. Overall great size gym and decent amount of classes offered. I also love how it's a 24 hour location!
This location is the worst. Since reopening from the lockdowns no one enforces social distancing or mask. The gym is always very disorganized and none of the sanitizing stations are filled. I come here bc it’s close but rather spend the extra drive to a better cleaner facility where the staff actually takes care of the place. Even after mentioning to the staff about the refilling of paper towels and bottles no one does anything. Management went downhill after the original manger went on leave.
Is this a Good Life or the new Ajax Land Fill! As of 2019-03-31 the run off from the trash can is running down the walk and being tracked into and out of your facility. I wonder how many folks have it on their shoes an in their houses and cars. Here is an easy one for you, trash bags can be bought at Walmart, and YouTube can provide you with instructions how t empty the trash. Clean up your facility its disgusting!
They keep on people to follow the rules!!. I feel safe
Friendly and caring staff.
Usually never that busy. My jacket was stolen a year ago, advised management but never heard anything from them.
Maria N was such a pleasure to work with! She had a very positive attitude which kept me going during my workout. I highly recommend her as a personal trainer.
Canceling my membership by the end of the month.. Customer service non existent.. Emailed Goodlife corporate email and still no response..
This is a great gym! The staff are very friendly and it’s one of the cleanest gyms I’ve been to. The trainers are very friendly as well, not intimidating and very focused on helping you reach your goals, especially Maria! Would recommend, definitely worth it!
Not as busy as other gyms in Ajax. The way I prefer it. Big and spacious. Has a good selection of equipment. For those who like the classes might not have as many
Not impressed with the service
Cleaned and not super busy.
Once gym
Great facility with lots of space, machines, and weights
The best and kindest staff are at this Goodlife location. I've been to 10+ Goodlife locations in the GTA, this one has been the most amazing. Shout-outs to DOLLY, VICTORIA, TALIA, and DAN. I frequently come to this location because it's so clean, well-kept, and spacious. What makes this gym even better are the 4 staff members mentioned above. Dolly did some investigative work on why my membership wasn't working. I was at the Stouffville Goodlife and explained my membership issue to them but they didn't help. I reached out to this Ajax Goodlife via phone call, while I was still physically at the Stouffville Goodlife, and Dolly answered the phone and explained that my membership was fine, the Stouffville Goodlife didn't bother to go that extra mile to do the investigative work while I was physically there, but Dolly did. Dolly had really made my day when she explained my membership was indeed active. I will not forget how she went the extra mile to not only investigate, but to also call me and provide a thorough explanation on the status of my membership, and the history of my membership that enables me to continue using Goodlife. Victoria has always provided exceptional customer service since I started coming to this location. She is friendly, polite, and respectful. She greets you and remembers you. I've spoken to her on the phone before and she has a courteous and professional tone over the phone. She is one of the staff members that make the workout experience more enjoyable with her greetings. Talia is also exceptional in her customer service as she remembers you and greets you. She is constantly walking around the workout floor cleaning the machines and wiping them down. She is very thorough as she not only cleans the machines, but also the free weights, barbells, and other high-touched surfaces. Dan is a hardworker himself as I've seen him constantly clean the machines and equipment whenever he works. He walks around the workout floor and monitors which machines and equipment need to be cleaned. He is friendly and is and has been helpful! The other new staff are also really great. Dylan is nice and courteous and I've seen him spray and wipe down the lockers in the changeroom on multiple occasions, which is great since it's being sanitized. I've seen another staff member constantly clean the machines, but unfortunately do not know her name. Dolly, Victoria, Talia, and Dan should be rewarded for their exceptional service!
Nice gym. Good lighting, makes those muscles look big. Equipment is in good condition.
Much more open space compared to the other locations in the area.
Been to plenty of GoodLife facilities and by far the best one without a pool. Spacious, clean and equipment is restored back to their correct location.
Rating based on my experience with staff. 5 stars for my instructor Ramez who is professional and friendly! Sandy is also friendly and welcoming! A few other staff deserve 2 stars!
Go here everyday, has pretty much everything you need for a good workout
Great gym. Still very new.
Good place for regular workout.
Main concern comes from the manager, Jason. While the staff members are nice and helpful towards their members, I noticed that most of the staff are very scared when they talk to Jason. When I entered the gym sometime in the summer, Jason had said, "Did you have a question!?" to a staff member, and the staff member responded, "I was wondering if it's okay to stand here." She had a petrified look on her face, and I felt sympathy for her as she seemed scared to approach her manager in front of members entering the gym for their booked appointments. When this location entered into the "Orange zone," instructing members to have a mask on at all times except during the act of exercising, several staff members were efficient in approaching members and asking them to put their masks on while they were resting between sets. After finishing a set, I was breathing intensely while holding the front of my mask that was placed on my chin with two fingers, indicating that I was about to return the mask onto my mouth and nose after I've quickly regained my breathing. Face masks are hard to breathe in when wearing during and after a rigorous exercise. Jason quickly rushed to me from behind, unintentionally scared me, and said, "Mask on please!" and dashed away. The act of approaching a member and advising them to kindly put their mask back on is acceptable, However, Jason advanced towards me, and commanded me to put my mask on in a demeaning manner. It destroyed my focus in my workout. He doesn't have excellent customer service. He will not engage in conversation with you when you greet him and ask him how he's doing; doesn't bother to look at you. On the occasion he is on the workout floor, I see him commanding his staff to do certain tasks in a demeaning way and I've never seen him have a conversation with members. I don't feel comfortable exercising at this location when Jason is there. I tend to book appointments in the evenings to avoid him. I'm surprised that all of the staff members I've talked to are really polite, and encompass the values of goodlife, but Jason deters and discourages you to live a goodlife. Unfortunate that an individual that manages a Goodlife and is titled as the manager can't encompass the values of Goodlife/David Patchell-Evans. Goodlife locations I've visited have great and welcoming staff that encouraged me to choose Goodlife among all other private and big-name gyms, but Jason as a manager has often made me consider to leave Goodlife and join a different gym because of how uncomfortable I feel when he is at the gym and how disrespectful he is. I do hope he becomes more respectful and professional when members try to speak with him. Possibly have another manager from a different Goodlife location coach him on his customer service.
I am always amazed how big this location is. Very clean. Really friendly staff. They have equipment that I really like and I cannot find in other Good Life locations. Parking is always easy. And there is other shopping near by. Great location.
Gym was busy and the clientele was not the most friendly
This is one of my favorite locations to go to the gym. It has clean, functional and brandnew equipment, a variety of options for machines. It's not in a densely populated area so not too packed, if you go past 10 PM you likely wont have to wait for a machine AND it's open 24/7; so convenient!
I love this location. The equipment is newer than most locations and its clean. I will say that at the front desk only one staff member (whose name I forget, mature woman with dirty blond curly hair) will say hi and bye to you. The downfall of this location is that its never not busy. There is no slow period for this gym. Ive been there morning, mid day and night... this place STAYS busy.
Easily the best GoodLife in Durham region. The manager Jason is great and easy to talk to. The staff are pleasant and always smiling. I love the layout of the equipment and the big windows. I enjoy working out here
I definitely like this location over other GoodLife fitness in Ajax area. Even staff is more friendly at this location. Enough parking place and not too crowded either. Even though it should be 24 hours gym they close it early during long weekends and don't even post their hours online.
Great place to work out
No personal trainer bothering
Wonderful experience! Miriam was incredibly kind and informative. Highly recommend this location.
Equipment are new, staff are friendly and lot of parking space. When I signed up there was no sales pressure.
New and clean gym with great staff.
This location is very clean and the front staff is very professional and welcoming. My only issue with this location is that SOME members do not wipe down the cardio equipment/benches or unload there weights from the bars or leg press.
my regular gym i go to and its 24 hours
Half the time machines are out of service... Stairmaster is always risky, I remember it malfunctioned once when I was on it and started going too fast to the point that I injured my shins. Go there at your own risks
Lots of locations, a number of classes of different types, open 24/7 at all at a reasonable price. Best Value in town
Really great club. Well laid out, fantastic parking, great staff and very well maintained. My primary gym now.
Good equipment, but crowded
Come here all the time. Gym is super clean and following social distancing rules. Nestor is super helpful and always there to answer questions!
Love going to this gym! It is clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful. Everyone (staff and attendees) at the gym is paying attention to the regulations in place right now - cleaning equipment, wearing a mask, staying 2 meters apart and not getting together in groups. Most importantly I feel safe. Awesome place to work out!
Ive been training at different gyms for the past 15 years and I have to say, this location has given me the best overall gym experience. From the friendly and helpful staff, to the layout of the gym... If you’re looking for a new gym to reach your goals, Check it out. Things have been a bit more complicated with the restrictions due to the covid-19 pandemic but I believe they (Jason the manager. And staff members like Dan) have taken every precaution to make sure all members and staff are protected and safe. -Dillon S.
Friendly staff, clean premises and updated machines
Becoming less of a classy gym. People working out in slippers and Jean's. Listen to personal speakers out loud. Turning into planet fitness
(Translated) I don't know (Original) No cons
A really warm and welcoming place
if you are by any means serious with your strength training goals this is not the gym for you. the staff treat It more like a library. Deadlifts are not allowed off the floor, and the rubber platforms make sumo impossible, you cannot spot someone, neither can you hype someone up for a heavy set. seems like this "gym" was made to cater to people who come in looking for a place to feel "accepted" rather than to actually train hard
