You know that we do not usually bother to place reviews when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
The hotel was clean for the most part,Looks like they are doing some upgrading so that may take some time. Bed was comfortable. Our room was way to hot for out liking. I heard other guest complaining also. This hotel seem to be right in the …
Nice for a northern hotel. Good shower. But the shuttle for the airport just drove right on by, I was even early...
No TV cable ...(guest they forgot to pay the bill). And then the wifi, which I paid $5 a day, kept saying 'out of range' every time I tried to connect. Other than that, good location downtown and decent clean rooms. No elevators, in case you are lugging around a suitcase.
Housekeeping staff were not consistent at all. I even asked the staff what times they would be in our hallway/around our room so that we could leave around those times to respect their space, and they didn't come at a consistent time at all …
The room is small and basic. The bedding is very soft and the pillows are excellent. Great shower head. The front desk staff is exceptional, buddy recommended all kinds of good stuff to do and had the scoop on where to eat. Say the days in will do $160 a night and they'll match the price. Best value, for sure.
Great staff, great value, wonderful stay. Thank you so much Quality Inn. We really enjoyed our stay.
Not Recommended. Staff are pleasant but mostly cant solve problems (1 example: turning off the blinking red light on the phone in the room). They do have a few parking passes, but they can't explain where the parking lot is located (how about a map?) The room was extremely small, but in good shape. The closet is inside the bathroom meaning you steam your clothes every time you shower.
Yellowknife quality inn was excellent experience Need parking close to hotel but really wasn't bad never had to walk more than 50 feet
I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. The team is great and extremely welcoming. I loved it. Clean hotel, definitely value for money given Yellowknife. I will return again. Restaurant service and food was good. Rooms look good, freshly painted and clean. Bathrooms are sanitized.
Budget hotel. Clean and quiet. No frills
As already mentioned in my prior comments: Positive- efficient check in process, pet friendly room offerings, reliable scheduled shuttle services. …
The location is right in yellowknife's Downtown, the rooms are ok but they don't offer complementary breakfast
I stayed at the hotel as a transition point on my journey to and from another destination. I was so impressed with courteous and friendly staff. The downtown location is very convenient, the rooms were very clean and comfortable.I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to Yellowknife.
Hotel can use some major upgrades, like air conditioners and phone where u can delete the previous messages
It was okay. Hotel needs improvements but the location is convenient down town.
Friendly, clean and cozy. Nice place to stay that is walking distance to most places.
Clean facility with friendly helpful staff, close to downtown with airport bus service.
Central location. Internet is a little slow but works fine. Free shuttle to and from the airport. Bus stop right in front of the hotel.
Quality inn and suites - Yellowknife Loud all evening, swearing, slamming of doors and people arguing in the …
Clean rooms, very friendly staff. A bit pricey, but nice place.
My room was clean and comfortable and there has been some great improvements to the lobby and entrance. The service is much better and feels much safer!
Room very hot 27 degrees C no AC window screwed shut with plywood. Felt trapped and uncomfortable.
The décor was great, the room was small but well equipped. The window attachment for the air conditioner was detached and laying on the floor, so that was a bit weird.
An excellent stay. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the hotel was very positive.
Friendly staff with all the amenities needed. Shopping mall in hotel. Cinema nearby.
It's a convenient place to stay due to the free airport shuttle bus and some Aurora hunting tour pick up right here. However the hotel room is small and noisy thanks to the road nearby. Also my window's handle was broken and not able to seal, which cause a little difficult sleeping by cold and noise.
This April was our third stay at this hotel. If you are wondering what is special about this Hotel that we would chose to stay here when we do have many other choices in Yellowknife, well it's simple: …
The hotel has a great location. The WiFi is decent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The gym is small but usually there's no one, so it's not too bad. The rooms could use some renovation but if you're not too picky, they are ok. One thing I didn't like is the noise. The wall insulation must be very poor, because you can hear TV noises, people slamming doors noises, street noises, etc. Overall, I am satisfied with my stay.
Very disappointed with my stay here. For one the wifi is absolutely brutal, you'd be lucky just to load a page on your browser let alone do anything else, and after talking to front desk it is the same through out the hotel and has been like this for a long time. Today I went to do laundry in their 1 machine for which you have to sign out the time slot with the front desk (which is ok) so I booked my slot went down there and their cleaning lady was using it and when I explained to her that I had booked this she basically told me 'too bad'. After an hour of waiting to use this 100 year old machine I turn it on to find it only produces cold water, no matter what temp. setting you select. I went back up to front desk to complain and she said 'yes this is a common complaint, we have told management and they are looking into it' I asked since when have they been looking into it and she said about 6 months! If you want a reasonably clean room for one night, max two, with no wifi then sure but I would not recommend it. Also, their restaurant closes at 4:30pm everyday. UPDATE: Today when I got back to my hotel room there was a slice of cake and an apology letter on my side table. The letter explained they are working on the wifi and there will be new laundry machines in a few weeks. Oct. 10/17' Nothing changed
This hotel is pretty horrible. There is no parking. And I mean no parking. There is some street parking that is free after 5pm, but you could end up walking for awhile once you find a free spot. They have a gym, but the gym is in the mall that the hotel is attached to. Absolutely bizarre. No breakfast currently (not even coffee). I was lulled to sleep by the drunk people screaming up and down the street all afternoon and evening. Comfy beds though.
Housekeeping was not real good. They straightened the covers but that was about it. Well they did provide fresh towels as needed. Still it was convenient and I enjoyed walking around town from this location.
Friendly and courteous staff, good location. The room is clean. The only concern was the AC unit inside was too noisy.
Older building but nice a clean hotel. Easy access to malls after 10am. Great downtown location.
Hotel is located right downtown. Stores around. Convenient. Very friendly staff. We met Mira, Catherine and Annie. They were all very friendly. The only drawback was the window in the room. It could not close completely, that made the room cold at night.
Wifi was best out of all the major hotels in the city. Service was good. Rooms were okay.
Great service. Value for money. Staff is very professional and make you feel cared for.
The staff are very helpful and friendly. They made me feel safe kept my case locked when it was to heavy to carry.
We booked this on the web which said parking was included. It is not and you have to park at metered locations on the street with homeless people asking for money. So you need to take in all you luggage and valuables. You can only get free parking by going to city hall. Why the hotel can't arrange this for paying guests is beyond me. Rooms are small for the price but otherwise is ok. Getting in late, learning I had to leave my vehicle in a metered spot which didn't feel safe, and having to bring all my gear in while staff told me this was clear on the website (not the one we booked on) left a sour taste in my mouth. I will stay elsewhere next time.
Old, run-down hotel. Nice staff. No parking though -- would not stay here again because of that.
Despite old and room being small, this property is conveniently located at the heart of Yellowknife downtown and virtually everything is within 3min waking range. The wifi is satisfying and stable. I would choose here again if I get a chance to visit Yellowknife again. Took a star off because the complimentary breakfast, which was the reason I chose here, was disappointing.
It's a clean room with working fixtures in the room. No temperature controls in the room however. Cannot cool the room down at night to sleep. Both ice machines are out of service in this hotel but the fridge in the room keeps the water cold.
Gross rooms, loud drunks and bums, just a horrible hotel.
Worst experience of a hotel in Yellowknife. The room was not to satisfaction with issues all around, the staff at the front desk was unable to assist me with my issues, and I didn't even get any sleep there. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to stay, there are much better options in Yellowknife.
Because of the great customer service we received from Annie at the front desk and the Manager. We had a great king sized comfy bed, huge bathroom and our request for extra towels and wine glasses was quickly and happily met. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Convienently located but Overpriced. No parking. Would not stay here again.
The rooms are pretty shabby, and didnt offer services that were advertised on their website through expedia.
I called to reserve two room, and the lady who answered the phone told me she will give me a call right back. After 24 hours of not hearing back from her, I decided to book the rooms online. I did my online booking 2 weeks ahead of my stay and provided my credit card information as they require that you pay for the whole stay once you book. I received an email with my confirmation number telling me that the full amount will be charged to my credit card. The day of my flight, I printed out that same email and brought it with me. After an agonizing 9 hour flight from Ottawa due to flight delays, we arrived in Yellowknife. We walked in the lobby to find 3 people ahead of us checking in and only one very confused employee doing the check-in. After half an hour or a little more, it was our turn to check in. I got to the counter and presented the lady with the email that included all the information she needed to check us in, in addition to my ID. She ignored the email and only looked at my ID. After staring at the screen for around 10 minutes, she looked up at us to tell us that she had no record of our reservation and that they are fully booked. We asked her to look again using the confirmation number, and her answer was "this number doesn't mean anything. The reservation number that we use at the hotel is different than what the website provides you". I urged her to read the email, and she did, she also confirmed that this was in fact booked on their website, but she still had no record of our reservation in her computer. As this was taking place, another person came downstairs from his room complaining that his room stinks like smoke although he had booked a non smoking room. Apparently he had the same issue as we did, but lucky for him she was able to find him a room. Finally at around 11 o'clock the lady apologized and told us that there is nothing she can do and suggested that we go try another hotel, and to call back to get reimbursed if any charges showed on my credit card . We left the hotel lobby at 11 pm in -40 weather and started walking around looking for a hotel that had vacancy for the night. Lucky for is, the third hotel we tried had two rooms left and we were saved from having to spend the night on the streets of Yellowknife. This is the story of the awesome Yellowknife Inn, I left a lot of details, such as the pets that were running around the lobby and the drunken lady who was walking around in the lobby harassing the people who were waiting for their shuttle. Save yourself the humiliation and stay anywhere BUT this hotel.
Room was clean, comfortable. Plenty of towels even for a single guest. Often people linger outside the entrance to the hotel at all hours of the night, sometimes loud. My room was right by the outdoor "hang-out spot" so it was too loud to open my window. Great location for walking downtown access.
The hotel is located in a very convenient location. Easy access to restaurants, shops, and visitor center. You can even get to old town by foot in about 15-20 minutes. The in room microwave and refrigerator were a plus. Only thing I wish it …
super friendly staff, excellent location in city centre.
Hotel is in the core of downtown with all stores close by walking distance. Each staff member is so energetic and positive and with smiling face.
Great service @ the front desk
Was good. Surprise with the kitchenette Next time will bring something to prepare food with
The staff was great and very pleasant, and the location was perfect. The Quality Inn is not a fancy resort hotel, so if that's what you need, it might not be for you. But everyone was nice, the rooms were clean, the facilities modest but …
Hope some front desk staffs need to train more Friendly and comment sense.
Good hotel and nice stay. I like rooms as they were clean. I will return as staff were very kind and friendly. Always helpful.
No parking; breakfast was awful; half-hearted sloppy job trying to clean room. At least the bed was comfortable
Very helpfull staff. The hotel is close to everything in town. I would stay here agian.
This trip left me a very impressive memory. When I went to the front desk without reservation, the lady is very nice to help me to find a good suite. A waiter who happened to pass helped me to take my heavy bag to my room. In the morning I …
Came back at 1am took a bath with no hot water only warm. Next morning the washroom light was not working. Phoned frontdesk only help I heard was we were sorry. Have to wait until 3 pm for repair.
