It's a decent size gym. Has lot of cardio machines. But their weight room is extremely small, it's mostly for people wanting loose weight than building muscles. As there isn't even any dedicated benches to do bench press.

I signed up online to get a deal and the deal said that I would get a free t-shirt and a tour of the place I got neither. When I finally asked about when I was going to get my free t-shirt they told me that it was a promotion and that it was over and that they had no shirts left. Still kinda disappointed in my first few experiences with the gym but for 10 bucks a month it is a is a good price for when I am not doing other things to stay active.

This gym is absolutely beautiful great equipment massage beds tanning the whole bit. Unfortunately there were far too many people running around without masks on, putting everyone else at risk. When I tried to confront the staff about it they simply told me that if you go up there and say that you're exempt then just like that you don't have to wear a mask. I was stunned. But because of the mandate that came into effect on September 22nd I felt like after this point going back to the gym it will be a lot safer and if it's not I will raise this issue with corporate head office.

It is an OK gym. Spacious with high ceilings. The weight area is a bit limited and small with not enough weights and benches. The cardio section is good with various different equipment. Cleanliness is very good.

Opening day and I am very impressed! The gym is well laid out and lots of equipment as well as great variety. Chris gave me an excellent tour of the facility including the “spa” area. It has hydro beds - which I tried and it was very relaxing as well as an excellent massage, tanning rooms, toning and rejuvenation room and massage chairs. I will be getting a free personal training session soon! All for $20 per month. There are other benefits, see their website. I left Good Life, paying $100 to get out of my contract and I will still be saving money for the five months I would have had to pay there. I will also be bringing a person with me most days and they always free get in free when they are with me! And it is tailored to those who are beginners emphasizing “Judgement free”. No down side in sight! Well done Planet Fitness! God bless!

An extremely friendly atmosphere and a very clean facility (coming from a cleaning company owner). . I was so impressed with the amount of value delivered to each visitor that I went ahead and offered paid-for black card memberships to my employees. We have already registered 4 and we will be registering another 5-10 in the next month. My only issue is that I personally do not like bringing my business credit card to the gym (for safety purposes) and prefer to manually enter the numbers into the system, when signing up my employees. However, there seems to be a disconnect in the training protocol, as it seems that only 1 member (Charmaine) has been able to manually enter my card information and 2 have denied the possibility of doing so. Hopefully this hole in the training is tended to as I've watched 2 other people get told the same thing last week and walk out saying they will return with their card on another day (which they may or may not). To me this seems like an unnecessary, and very fixable, decrease in conversion. Overall, Planet Fitness is an awesome experience in a super-welcoming environment at an incredible price.

I had an excellent time using this gym whilst I was living in North Van. They always keep the gym & equipment clean, with a positive attitude. Unfortunately I had to cancel my membership as I was moving to Coquitlam, but that staff made the process extremely easy without any hassle like other gyms. I'm sad to leave, but thank you North Van Planet Fitness team for making my experience a piece of cake!

Want to put this in attendance to the owner and manager. It is my personal experience otherwise the staff is good. I called the gym 3 times as there was an issue with my payment and I was told I will receive a call back which I did not receive until I called again . I could understand as I work at a front desk too. I didn’t want to use the gym for free and wanted to pay. I used the gym only for ‘A DAY’I requested the manager that I don’t wish to pay a month fee while I used the facilities for a day. The manager was utterly rude and said I should pay for the whole month irrespective of my 3 times follow up with the gym. Until then, no one called and asked why the payment is not going through. I didn’t want to be unfair in this bad times. The gym is economical and amazing. Unfortunately I was taken aback by the manager’s attitude & tone; but I shall pay for that month or for day use (which he states is $20) and I shall withdraw my membership which the manager replied, ‘ perfect and have a good day’ I wish you all the best in this hard COVID times.

The price is the selling point. They could use heavier weights, and they are definitely compromising their square footage with a surplus of cardio machines. Not enough mirrors. It’s important to be able to watch your form when you’re doing stretches and body weight exercises. Also no weight scales isn’t that inconvenient, it’s just hilarious. Like are folks actually intimidated just by seeing a scale in the gym? No one is forcing you on it. Good enough space though.

Went to the gym on sunday june 7th and they were closed with out any real explanation. They had a sign that said closed due to emergency which really freaked me out since I was worried that they had a covid outbreak. Also I drove all the way from the other side of the city to find out they are closed that is a waste of my time and gas. Their website was also down which I find really frustrating. Overall I'm annoyed and disappointed with the lack of commitment.

Good GYM really affordable price. I just wish they have powerlifting stations (squat rack, deadlift station) Using a smith machine for those exercises is okay for beginners but is not good for the longrun. Also many people that come here are beginners and I would love it if there was some sort of demonstration of what not to do because these people might injure themselves doing behind the neck exercises and bending their back while lifting! To whoever is reading this please dont do any behind the neck exercises and make sure your back is straight!!

A very nice Gym with amazing value for what you pay!!! Staff is always welcoming and on one instance stayed back after hours for a few minutes until i completed my total body enhancement as they knew i had waited in line for quite some time to get to it. Do not waste your time or money anywhere else. Keep up the good work!

I signed up to this gym because it was 24/7 and now that this isn’t the case anymore I am strongly considering switching gyms. A lot of people have reversed work schedules and need a place that is open any time and this is very upsetting. I used to love this gym and now that has changed. Bring back 24/7 hours. Washroom/shower/change room FILTHY!!! Clumps of hair in showers and trailing all over the floors. I was going to take a shower there but I quickly changed my mind. The disabled parking spaces need to be clearly marked as people without disabled parking badges are parking 2 cars to a disabled space. Hydro massage beds: set them up so the customer presses a Start button and then the timer starts. I missed half a massage because she'd already started the timer while we were talking at the desk.

Honestly one of the worst gyms I have ever had the chance to work out at. The gym is know to be a judgement free zone, yet the staff is very judgemental to the custumers and cliental that come into the gym. Wether your larger, small, body builder, they judge everyone so there is no point of having a link alarm or the “judgement free” zone. All of the classes and the free trainer programs that are given are jokes. As someone who wants to become healthier this gym just mocks you and wants you to stay unhealthy with pizza monday’s and bagel tuesdays, tootsie rolls at the front desk, and laughing at larger customers which I have heard them do. Not to mention their charging fees always come 5-6 days late so be ready for those. Definitely do not sign up. Awful experience.

Affordable, in a convenient location and also has great staff. The only downside I can really think about is that they do not have power racks, just smith machines for squat, bench, etc - although from what I understand this is the norm for the franchise. Some other small issues are that I'm not too sure what their dress code is. I've seen people using their cardio machines while wearing business casual attire. The last thing is that other members don't re-rack their weights and it makes it inconvenient for the people using equipment after them. I saw a member leave 4 45 lb plates on one of the smith machines and this poor girl who wanted to use the machine next would have struggled to put the weights back if someone didn't offer to help.

Good covid 19 cleaning going on lot of space between machines however water machine has been broken for a year. BRING YOUR OWN WATER. They don’t seem to know how to fix it. Any plumbing professionals in the area should go in and give them an estimate !

Just absolute terrible organization and professionalism on employee's part AND manager's part. We received a phone call asking if we were still interested in having our account on hold and we said yes. We don't feel comfortable going during COVID. The girl said no problem and that was it to the phone call. A couple weeks later, we received a monthly charge from the gym. We have called the gym 3 times. Their response always being "the manager is not in right now, they'll call you back." We have never received a phone call. Again, we have called THREE times reminding them that we should not have been charged. I'm not sure if it's the incompetence of the employees relaying the message or the manager's incompetence to return phone calls. This is absolutely unacceptable. It has been weeks and weeks now of us waiting to hear back or us continuing to chase down these people to answer our call and refund us the monthly charge!

A great price for what you get and cancelling/freezing your membership is super easy since there is no contract. The workout equipment is limited; there are plenty of machines and free weights, but no free bars for bench press.

Love this gym. The black card membership is a great value for the tanning, massage chairs, and other benefits. The staff are always so cheerful and friendly. The gym sparkles because it's so clean. The atmosphere is very chill. I only wish they had barbells. They could limit the plate weights available which could keep it in line with their gymtimidation motto.

I think this gym is great! The staff for the most part are too.. Ive read the reviews and one stands out about a young lady and her frustrations with a Vacuum. SANDRA DUNCAN if thats yr real name? I can't believe in today's economy u would call someone out for having a moment and possibly risk her job over it!. this gym is a judgement free zone and yet thats exactily what u did.. judged the young lady! I have personally witnessed that same young lady go over and above for her clients, making sure they have all they need and also put up with more than her fair share of BS.. including a drunkin man who tore a strip off her for not allowimg him to work out drunk for his safety and the safety of the other clients!! So planet fitness I counter this negative review of this young lady and give her 100% props!!!

Staff are friendly and helpful, and the gym is new and shiny. Not great for me - I understand why others like it though. Area for free weights is very small and crowded even when moderately busy and not much room for body weight exercises. If you like basic cardio and strength training with machine, this would be a great place. Also, nitpicking here but I found their elliptical machines arm poles way to short and I'm not that tall at 5' 7". Their alternative to the elliptical - I don't know what it's called but it doesn't mirror natural strides and again, hand grips really low causing awkward posture. Wasn't a fan! Okay one last thing - what kind of gym offers free pizza and bagels? Stay back evil tempters!

I use a tanning bed once a year usually a few weeks before I go on vacation. I have been doing this for over 30 years. Now I have a manager at the Planet fitness telling me how many minutes I am allowed to go for and states it is the law. When challenged to show me the law this assistant manager just says take it or leave it. Poor excuse for a manager. The power has gone to his head. All this over 2 minutes.

First of all, Mandy, who is the supervisor is the rudest person of all. I see tons of people not wearing masks and roaming around and after seeing it also she does nothing but targets a just a bunch of people. No manners to talk at all. No professionalism. If you try to prove your point, you will get a “we’ll cancel your membership “ reply. That’s it. You cannot even put your point. Secondly, the employees are not even sure what are the covid policies right now. One is saying that you can remove your mask at the cleaning station and one is saying that you have to wear your mask there too. Alot of miscommunication. I hope this review goes to the management and they do something about this. I just want that rules should be similar for all. And the employees should at least know the policies clearly so that they can answer the customers clearly. Otherwise all good. Peace out ✌️

I’ve been looking for a local gym to join since gyms have reopened this summer and have taken a look at a couple facilities recently. Cleanliness and COVID protocols are very important to me in a time like this and I’m happy to share that this gym takes it very seriously. I came in and was greeted by a friendly staff and they were committed to providing a comfortable experience. An associate named Mady took the time to show me the spotless facility and helped answer all of my questions about their membership options. I don’t usually write reviews, but this time around was a unique experience where I felt really excited to be part of their community. Looking forward to coming back.

I go to planet fitness about three to four times a week. well the equipment is all in great shape and the gym is huge and often easy to get the machine you want, there's a lack of free weights. I understand that this isn't a hardcore gym but believe they could still have some more options. the biggest thing keeping us from being a five-star is the men's shower has the water pressure of a kitten slowly drooling over a can of tuna. *******They fixed the showers!

The experience of working out in the gym has been good. However, disappointed in the customer service by the manager today. I went in about 5 days ago to demote my membership to the basic. Turns out it never went through. And the manager didn't at the very least apologize for this membership change not even going through, and that worker ultimately wasting my time. I asked what he suggested we should do, and he said he didn't know. It's just disappointing and annoying. Was going to pause my membership, now I'm thinking I'll cancel it and go elsewhere.

I had to cancel my membership as I haven't been to the gym in 6 months. My billing cycle was the 17th to the 16th of the following month. Finally a decent Gym in Town with high quality equipments. It's so big and spacious better than motion in stonebridge. Fitnessfor10 was ok but after they dissolved and sent people over to motion I was unhappy. PF saved my life as it super close to where I live plus their changing rooms are of high standards.

I have been a member for a long time. I moved away and came back this year. I have never had anything but positive experiences here and there aren’t enough good things to say about the staff. I signed up again when the gym reopened and noticed I was billed double. I called and the phone was answered immediately, without hesitation the issue was resolved and more. An amazing gym to go to. It's clean it's fun the staff are nice. There's usually machines available for everyone no matter what your need. And it's very cheap to get a membership there. And for like $20 you can use all the extra machines like the VIP machines. Those include tanning sunbed and vibrating chairs I think? Oh it all and amazing clean Fun Gym for everybody. Men and women are allowed there and nobody judges anybody. If they do a big alarm goes off on the wall and they get made fun of her kicked out... seriously. Thank you Planet Fitness I love you.

For the most part, it was a good gym. But their policy for a possible covid exposure is not well thought out or organized. When there were three exposures at the gym, the members did not receive so much as an email saying so. There was no confirmation of sanitation or the times or dates the possible exposures occurred. I am not impressed and I have cancelled my membership to this gym because of this. I would not recommend this gym through its improper management and policy in this pandemic.

As I said two months ago, a great place with great staff! Although, and this might vary by location and clientele, it seems to me that the Belleville site could lose some cardio machines and replace the space with weight machines. Other than the last niggling comment, my only real complaint is with the people who sit on the weight machines while texting. If you need to send a message after every set, get . . . the . . . hell . . . off! The YMCA has a "no cell phones" policy for many reasons. This is one of them. Ear buds on a treadmill? I totally get that. But the weight machine end of the room needs to be a no phone zone. I know that staff members have spoken to people who are hogging the only copy of a machine while texting and have basically been told to go screw themselves. Not cool.

NOT SAFE - UNTRAINED STAFF. There was an incident last week where a man had a heart episode and needed first-aid/defibrillator help. NONE of the staff knew what to do and one of them was sobbing inconsolably. A member had to take control to save the mans life. Understand that a budget gym is such a way for a reason, keep this in mind.

Black card member and this is my home location. I travel all over the places and have used PF in PA, Oh, IN, CA, UT and WY. It is great but same as other gyms, WIFi should be there and water pressure for showers isn’t good. Overall nice equipment, good people around.

Pretty basic but good gym to go to. My only qualm is that they don’t have a true squat rack or row machines. They only have the smith machines. Most of the other planet fitness gyms I’ve been to do have the row machine and there was one I went to in Vegas that had a CrossFit area which was nice. Everyone is always friendly at these gyms and they even have pizza and bagels every month for their members. They make everyone just feel welcome so kudos to you Planet Fitness!

Even after that I called them and informed them to cancel my subscription. Additionally, there are body enhancement pod, hydro massage beds and chairs, and other massage chairs. Many TV screens provide a constant stream of entertainment and news. Black Card members can bring a workout buddy for free. The cost is affordable. I like and recommend this gym.

With the many Planet Fitness I used in the GTA area, this location at Steeles Ave. has many equipments and a good layout of the workout areas. Unfortunately, the friendliness of the staff is the worse of them all, especially the male staff working there. It seemed like they disliked being there. Lack of response when I asked questions and tried to use a facility in the black card lounge. Had to ask twice in order to get the equipment turned on.

I had the $20 membership. They told me there was no hidden fees. Two months into my gym membership without warning and if they would’ve told me I would have prepared for it, they took about a $45 annual fee payment that they never told me about, which resulted in non-sufficient funds in my bank account. Which I also got charged for. If they told me that there was an annual fee and when the annual fee would have happened I would have gladly have made sure that I had that amount in my bank account for when they went to withdraw it automatically. Other than their terrible lack of knowledge and customer service, I watched several people not wipe down the gym equipment and I’ve seen no staff go around and clean unused gym equipment just as a precaution. I normally go for an hour to an hour and a half and even when they’re sitting around they don’t think to maybe go and clean machines because they’ve been used all day

I honestly love the staff. And enough of the staff genuinely try to make note of the regulars and get to know your name and a bit about you to make each visit personal. Its very welcoming. I literally only have one massive complaint: over the last few months the classes offered have decreased and they are pushing their "build your own program" really hard. I enjoyed the classes and what is being offered now is extremely limiting for a mom to squeeze into a schedule. If u can get up and out the door at 6am... Your fine. If you're tied until 9am after the kids are on the bus and before 3pm, its very very limited. I always found the gym was kept clean, wipe down stations well stocked, and locker rooms (female anyways) always spotless.

I love this gym. It is a great price for what you get. The washrooms/change rooms are very clean and spacious. There is enough selection of equipment to choose from. I LOVE Planet Fitness. The gym is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, the trainers are patient and encouraging, there are enough machines so I don't have to wait for a certain machine to work out. The best is the 30 minute express - I get a complete full body work out with a minimal time commitment. And other members are nice - there is no "fitness snobbery" or judgement there, so I feel safe and welcome as I am.

A much cheaper alternative to the typical gym, and what you get at the end of the day is a gym. This no frills gym is great if you live nearby and if you only need the basic equipment. I am actually not sure if there is a towel service, but I'm totally fine without one. There's always plenty of machines to choose from and the gym is open 24 hours. This makes it great to sneak a workout in during strange times of the day.

I was pleasantly surprised it's very clean and spacious! Since they just opened up everything is brand new. Soooo many cardio machines, and a good number of weight machines. The black membership spa equipment is so worth it. They have a red light machine that elsewhere, people pay hundreds of dollars to use. With the black membership you also can bring a buddy free every single time you work out. $25 a month no commitment? Cheap good bang for your buck.

First time ever, forgot my mask, I come here daily, asked for one, told me no they don't give them out anymore, go home and get one. Then I asked the manager if they can spare one, manager in a condescending tone said only this once, next time you'll be sent home. Then pulls out a huge box of masks and hands me one. Really doesn't make me feel very welcome. I really liked this gym until that interaction. Didn't know saving 15 cents on a mask is more important. Literally the only place I've been at that doesn't lend you a mask if you forget yours. Other than this I really love this gym but this stingey mask policy is really upsetting and I really hope it changes. If there ever comes a day where I genuinely forget my mask again and get turned around and not leant one, I will probably just cancel my membership then and there and go to my old gym

$10/month for a gym. Nuff said. Machines look new, function well, and overall a lot larger in quantity than I expected for $10. Noah signed me up and showed me around with some useful knowledge and a nice sense of humour. They offer classes on a schedule which I have not yet taken advantage of, but I still feel my $10 a month is well spent.

Clean gym, well-maintained, and helpful staff. I once lost my ring and my wallet here and I always got it back. However, heavy lifting workouts such as bench press and squat racks are absent. Those stuff are quite essential when you want to train hard rather than relying on machines. Furthermore, the smith machines have olympic bars which makes then difficult to grip when I want to do deadlifts.

Very disappointed considering the gym started off so well when I first started going there when it opened. The practice of wiping machines after each use is tedious but necessary. I will bring my own cloth gloves next time. Great place to do workout and the membership is reasonable????????

I have attended this gym for one year. It has lots of parking and is conveniently close to the grocery store. However some machines need to be updated and this location might benefit from having classes on a drop-in basis. Membership is very well priced, facility is clean.
